Faction Name: The Dantooine Liberation Army (DLA)
Faction Purpose: Freeing Dantooine from Sith Occupation, aiding refugees and survivors, causing general mayhem for the invaders.
Faction Planet: N/A
Financial wealth: Low-Moderate, all their funds are from the Sampson family and other Dantooine land owners, enough for them to purchase what they could underground from sympathizers, but not enough to really make a difference.
Military assets: Whatever they can steal from the Sith, they’ve gotten quite good at Sith caravan raids. They use guerilla warfare to battle the Sith, using Dantooine herself to help fight the invaders. A lot of their actual weaponry was originally used for hunting on the plains of Dantooine
Form of Government: Commune of the DLA Founders.
Faction History:
Founded shortly after the Sith invasion of Dantooine by Erledutch Sampson IV on the Kylah Plains, the Dantooine Liberation Army- or DLA- is a group of farmers, laborers, merchants and other blue collar workers turned guerilla commandos. They have also attracted a good amount of Republic friendly fringers, and military folks that wanted a piece of the Sith. At first they weren’t very successful, nor skilled, but as time went on, and under careful tutelage of Erle, a former counterterrorist, they became a deadly force that the Sith had to deal with.
Trained to create and handle home made weapons such as nail bombs, IED’s, blba tree thorn traps, and other easy, cheap killing devices that were as effective as they were easy to make. Supply convoys would be struck regularly, IED’s planted on their route allowing the take downs to go down decently easy. Lately though, the DLA has planned greater and grander attacks on the Sith- attacks soon to be carried out.
The DLA’s former base was a crystal cave structure, but more recently, thanks to the efforts of Mo Lakshmi and other DLA members, a new base has been set up. Deep underground and near one of Dantooine’s oceans, the ruins of an ancient Jedi Temple that had become one with a couple of caverns had been converted into a larger, and more effective base. All of the DLA’s gear was transferred to it, along with the many refugees and freedom fighters that make up the Army.
The freedom fighters have seen their fair share of tragedy. Among those lost in the fight against the Empire was none other than Earl himself. Since his death, his sons have stepped up and taken on the mantle of leadership, along with their close friend Mo. Between the three, they've managed to take on areas of leadership that suit their individual skill sets. The years have been hard, but the DLA has forged itself into a strong and dedicated group. They have been forced to adapt and change their tactics as the Sith Empire resorts to more cruel and deplorable strategies of their own.

The Kylah Plains: This is the area that surrounds Homestead. Lush grasses cover most of it, and if one knew the plains, old trails that used to be used by the Sampson Estate workers can still be seen. Rivers snake through the plains, one of them form part of the border for the Sampson lands. To the west lay a small mountain range and forest where the DLA have recently discovered that a Dantari tribe lives there. To the south is a very large, very blue ocean that the cove where Homestead is hidden opens out into.
The Ruins: These magnificent and ancient ruins mask what lay below. Old stone and trees cover the area, they appear to be nothing more than the bones of a once glorious temple. This was once a Jedi Temple of some sort, the stone statues of ancient Jedi are rare but obvious among the ruins. Trained to never venture far from the ruins is a decent sized pack of Kath hounds- the very pack that was owned by the Sampsons, but are now trained to guard the ruins from outsiders.
Inside Homestead:
Buffer Level: This level can be deceiving to those that don’t know Homestead lay under it. What appears to be simple cavernous ruins and caves is actually home to many hidden, deadly traps. Unless one walks a memorized path to get past the level, they will be slain by these traps. Cracks and a single hole in the ceiling are the only place light ever gets through- a light of some kind is needed to move through it in the night.
Main Level: Where the DLA lives primarily, luckily with Homestead once being a Temple, there are plenty of small rooms where various members of the DLA have made their home. Some of the larger chambers that aren’t used for DLA purposes are used for family rooms, so that they have plenty of space to sleep. The plumbing is poor in this level, but is more than enough to flush or wash one’s hands. There is also a lounge area where people can relax and kick back, it’s not much but the DLA has added what furniture and pillows it can from raids and such for this room.
-Command: Where the Commune meets for discussions. Glitch’s workstation is located here and like Command, is highly secure and restricted to all but Commune members. A large stone table sits in the middle of the chamber, carved from the very mountain itself.
-The Wash: Luckily for the DLA, this mountain is home to some underground hotsprings. A tunnel leads from the main area of the level into a very large cavern. In this cavern sits three decent sized hotsprings. DLA members come here to both clean up and relax- depending on which is needed more.
The Works: The third level in Homestead is where a lot goes on. The supply rooms are located here, as is the armory- in which Bosco has one of only a couple keys to. The medbay where the medical droid Surge works is located here. The DLA has a single kolto tank, which makes big missions tougher to recover from. Recently though, Grizzelda has also set up a tent where one can find scrap weapon parts and use work benches to repair and maintain weapons.
Hangar Level: This is the largest area of Homestead, this wasn’t apart of the Temple, but is instead a massive underground cave. Vehicles of all sorts sit on the smooth floor of this cave, some in extreme disrepair or have been used for scrap parts. The cave entrance opens out to the sands of the beach and then the ocean itself. Noodle is often seen messing around with something- or someone- in here.
Appearance:
Physical things all DLA members have in common.
Balaclava worn on missions. These were all made by Mo Lakshmi's mother, they have two purposes- one is to keep a DLA members identity hidden, the other is to inspire fear among the Sith.
These are the tattoos every DLA member- fighter or civilian- receives. Each marking within the symbol determines ranks, the one with the most is reserved for the leader, the three marks means they're of the Commune, the two and one mark is for soldiers, mechanics, engineers, doctors, etc. The blank symbol shows either a new member, or a civilian.
Credit to Miri for the tattoo pic/ ranking system.
These leaves of a Dantl Bush are carried by all DLA members, the Kath hound pack from the Samspon estate have been taught to recognize the scent of the leaf- to most sentients, the smell is unnoticeable, but to those with powerful olfactory glands- like the hounds- it carries a pungent, and unmistakable scent. Some of the easiest ways to keep a leaf on oneself is to actually sow it into the very clothes they wear.
