Name: Caazun
Race: Ubese
Age: 28
Height: 6'1"

Appearance: Being from the planet Uba IV, Caazun rarely removes his helmet; not a single soul besides the natives of Uba IV and himself has seen his face. He dons traditional Mandalorian armor, though it is modified for strictly ranged combat. Twelve weapon holsters line his armor; four for long range weapons, six for assault weapons and two rapid-shot pistols for duels or other close combat. A single machete about three feet long rests tied to his right calf down to the heel.
Underneath the mask, Caazun has dark, unhealthy-looking skin. His eyes are a pale yellow; both his skin and eyes are reflective of his accident on his homeworld. His arms, legs, chest and back are marked with scars from fights won and blaster shots that scorched the skin through his armor. His physique is slightly above average, but nothing spectacular. He has no hair on his head whatsoever. Due to this, his helmet has extra padding to prevent his head from receiving damage from his own helmet.

Bio:
Caazun was born on the planet of Uba IV, and right from the start life was difficult for him. His mother had to raise him on her own; his father and her brother were on the rise as bounty hunters and their love of their work pulled them away from any form of family for too long.
Caazun was a healthy young boy. He looked normal when compared to any other Ubese; his skin was dark and healthy, eyes were a faint green color and his mood was relatively indifferent as a toddler. He was born with black hair.
At the age of three, Caazun's life took on some interesting changes. His father decided to come home for a year off; his arm was broken in twelve places due to a run-in with three wookie protectors on Onderon. After his father's return, Caazun was promised lessons on precision from his restless father. Before these could take place, the young boy hit an adventurous stride. He'd always seen people walking outside with protective equipment on, but he was far too young to understand why. So, he decided to see why they did it for himself-- without the protective equipment. Before he was able to take three steps out the door, the boy fainted from the tremendously toxic atmosphere the planet contained. Luckily, his father noticed the boy's perplexed and intrigued look and rescued him from the outside world. The consequences of the trip outdoors for just about a minute's worth of time altered his skin texture and eye color substantially. He also developed an inability to breathe easily without assistance, so he often had to walk around with a breathing mask even when indoors. The final consequence was the permanent loss of his hair.
At the age of five, Caazun had begun practicing to become a bounty hunter like his father. He was not particularly interested in the ideas of close combat, though, and began practicing his aim by throwing stones or whatever he could find at still targets.
By the age of seven, Caazun had developed a malevolent view towards the rest of the world. He would often torture household pets, repeatedly stab at his food when it was already dead, and experimented on some of the other children in the community to see their limits of pain and experiment how much effort and precision it would take to make someone bleed. He had become exceedingly good at throwing stones, so much so that he started using two hands to aim at the same target.
A few months after turning nine, Caazun's father had taken note of the boy's curious accuracy. His father brought home a large stock of exotic birds-- over 200-- and an enormous cage to place them all in. He then ordered his son to enter the cage and slaughter every last bird using just stones. He would not be allowed to eat or emerge from the cage until he had finished this task. The boy just smiled and walked in, thrilled by the idea of being able to take life with no consequence and finally have moving targets for his training exercises. He toiled for three days and two nights with no food. He easily eliminated the first one hundred and fifty in a day and a half, but the next fifty proved grueling due to his lack of sleep and lack of nourishment. He was finally able to eliminate the last one at Midday of the third day. His father chuckled and let him out of the cage to a huge meal with a smile of approval.
At age ten, Caazun received his first blaster. It was a DE-10 blaster pistol. His father gave it to him as a gift to practice with. His training methods grew fiercer than ever; now they consisted of constant daily trips outdoors to shoot at the decayed trees that still stood. He began by drawing circles on the trees five centimeters in length and would not stop until he hit every single target he drew for that day. He started off with fifty, then one hundred, then three hundred, then one thousand. As each period of six months passed, he decreased the size of the circle from five to three, three to two, and two to one. The numbers he used stayed the same until age twelve.
When Caazun turned twelve, he realized he had spent so much time practicing his accuracy and precision that he was lonely. He had no real friends to speak of. The educational system gave him opportunity enough, but he had not utilized it until now. He also didn't realize that many of the other children were terrified of him, but also mystified in some manner. When he started to look around at the rest of them, they all started to follow him as if his acknowledgment of their existences gave them the courage they needed to follow him. He was unsure of what to do with this situation. Nothing had prepared him so far to be a leader. He didn't even really like other people all that much, though he did see the need to develop diplomatic relations. Little did he know it, this first incident sparked a later desire to join the Mandalorian Military.
At the age of thirteen, Caazun had a large following within his classmates. They were intrigued by this boy who looked different from them, but he drew them in with some pull that didn't make sense to anyone, including himself. He had a hunch that the cause was fear, which was perfectly understandable. He was, after all, already the best shot on Uba IV. He began to associate with this group more and more, even to the point he developed an affinity for a particular female, Honnila. The two spent increasing amounts of time together. Caazun also developed what he would consider a best friend in a boy named Dulel. The three would most often be seen together and Dulel had a combat specialty of his own, melee combat. The two would often practice their skills in the same vicinity.
At age fourteen, Caazun's time for initiation to adulthood came. His father felt the boy was more than ready for the task of becoming a bounty hunter. He had since started dating and fallen in love with Honnila, as well. His father gave him two weeks rations and a blaster rifle he took from the carcass of a republic soldier and sent him out into the treacherous atmosphere. They were the hardest two weeks of his life. There was hardly any wildlife to use as food on the planet-- most of it was grown and raised inside. Caazun would sleep every night with the nightmare that his helmet fell off while he slept and his body would become shriveled and die. This always woke him with a start-- this particular nightmare influenced how little he would remove his helmet in later years of his life entirely. Now that he was in the wild again with a stronger weapon, the teenager decided to practice his shot instead of keep the blaster prepped for defense. This time, he took out all the stops and just went right for aiming to fell the trees with a single shot. He succeeded after a few tries and quickly was able to do it like it was clockwork. One of the trees, though, did not fall the way he expected. It started coming straight towards the unsuspecting boy. Caazun, not well-known for his speed, barely got out of the way in time. He decided from that point on that shooting down trees was a bad idea, and waited out the rest of his time cautiously. The weather had become unstable and he was convinced he would die if he wasn't careful. He built a small, sturdy structure to keep anything that might invade out. Finally, the time came and he returned to his family, but he was changed now. The xenophobic ideal that many of the Ubese he knew had themselves was now his mindset as well. After all, how could anyone live through this planet's weather if they weren't a superior species? he would often say to Dulel and Honnila.
Now that he was considered an adult at fourteen, Caazun had an insatiable desire to put his skills to the test. He wanted to become a bounty hunter. He promised to take Dulel and Honnila to the more hospitable planet many of the Ubese were seeking refuge at now, Ubertica. The three left and made a safe journey to the new planet. Everything was much nicer there, but the three still required their protective suits on this planet as well. They were too used to the unforgiving environment of Uba IV.
Caazun, satisfied with the living conditions of the two people who mattered most to him, set out on his quest. He told Honnila she did not have to wait for him if she wished, but she loved him as well.
Caazun's bounty hunting days started off small. He started off as a member of a Bounty hunting guild. He spent most of his early times handling kidnappers and collecting small paychecks. These were the things that got his career in bounty hunting going, though. In one instance, he showcased his skills with the rifle by dispatching of six Vodran guards with six quick shots. The Hutt master who had kidnapped a young Hapan woman fled the scene instantaneously, leaving Caazun to collect the bounty without much fuss or actually being noticed by anyone dangerous.
Two years later, the now experienced bounty hunter took his trade a step further. He had since bought many new weapons, including an X-45 sniper rifle to increase his range. Caazun took jobs which wanted murderers captured, simply because he wanted the challenge of facing someone who could fight back. This proved futile as well, though, as he slaughtered at least fifteen bounties and brought back twenty more live and only encountered one opponent who required a cunning use of his mind.
One of the things Caazun did acquire from this experience, though, was an affinity for code-breaking. Being a bounty hunter wasn't exactly the most user-friendly job-- he would have to get into places that people did not want him. This would require security code-cracking. He was familiar enough with computers to be able to get a look at what the code he needed to enter was, though if the job required hacking or any sort of other computer-proficient task, Caazun was unable to manage it. He had never run into complex security codes before, so the challenge of learning how to decode them in order to earn some extra credits wasn't something out of his league.
At the age of eighteen, Caazun was beginning to grow increasingly bored with the idea of bounty hunting. It wasn't satiating his thirst for vengeance against the rest of the universe, more specifically, the Republic and the Jedi Order. After all, they were the ones who destroyed the Uba system's planets, leaving only one barely habitable for his people. He felt it was his job to use his excellent marksmanship to help get revenge for his people. Caazun decided he would begin to start hunting the Jedi.
The battle with the Jedi he was sanctioned to hunt was a wild one. The Jedi was simply ranked at Knight status, not a few years promoted from being a Padawan. The man was a human with average features, but his lightsaber skills were exceptional. He could sense Caazun tracking him from at least eight-hundred meters away. The Jedi waited patiently for the Ubese to get close enough, then began to strategically place himself behind walls. Caazun had never battled a Jedi before, so he decided to remain cautious and use his longer range blasters to take the Jedi down. He was a great shot, after all, so it wouldn't hurt to try. As soon as the bounty hunter was in firing range, the Jedi suddenly fired up his lightsaber and started charging straight for him. Caazun was caught off-guard by the incredible speed and started rapidly firing forward, hoping to hit the Jedi. A blue whirr deflected every single blaster bolt he fired-- Caazun was losing his calm. The Jedi got in reach to pull the blaster out of his hands, but this distraction allowed the bounty hunter to pull himself out of reach of the Jedi. He pulled out his sniper, but the Jedi began running again, this time away. Caazun was forced to give chase once again. This time, he pulled out a shorter range, more accurate blaster. He and the Jedi faced off and Caazun stared the real possibility of death in the face for the second time in his life. He reacted with poise this time, and quickly shot his blaster three times, aiming for the Jedi's lightsaber hilt. One of the bolts connected, but another was deflected simultaneously and struck the bounty hunter in the left arm. The lightsaber was knocked away and down off the side of a building, leaving him defenseless. After a struggle lasting almost thirty minutes, Caazun apprehended his prey with a wounded arm and his determination in question.
After capturing a Jedi single-handed, one of the more prestigious bounty hunting guilds offered him a job, which was a great indication of his skills as he was only eighteen, but he turned it down in favor of heading back to Ubertica to spend time with Honnila and Dulel.
When he returned, both of them were shocked and ecstatic to see him. Honnila reassured him that she remained faithful. Dulel was interested in hearing about his stories as a bounty hunter, which Caazun gladly shared with his only real friend. A few months later, Caazun and Honnila married and the ex-bounty hunter finally believed he would be able to settle down for a while. That was when Dulel pointed out the Mandalorian Army to him. Dulel had been adopted into the culture and attained a position there, rather than taking up bounty hunting. It made a lot of sense to Caazun, uniting himself with his friend and an army that favored neither the Empire or the Republic, though seemed to be more inclined to fight the Republic. Dulel even offered to adopt Caazun as a brother to facilitate his entrance.
Caazun's reasoning for joining the Mandalorian Army were simple; even though he held a xenophobic ideology towards the rest of the universe, race was not a factor in the Mandalorian forces. He would not know what race any of his fellow soldiers were and he never would, unless they elected to take their helmets off. In the heat of battle, all of them would look the same though, and this allowed Caazun to accept the Mandalorian ideals.
At age nineteen, Caazun joined the Special Ops sector of the Mandalorian Army. He was unsure how they would deal with him, as he wasn't the usual applicant, but they were quite thrilled to bring him in after witnessing his skills with a blaster.
At age twenty-one, the Mandalorian Army soldier received his first promotion, from private straight to sergeant. He lead a small army of forty men on a recon mission to the planet of Onderon after their commanding officer was vaporized by a Thermal Detonator. Caazun brought his troops to victory against a small Republic patrol troop composed of one hundred and twenty men. His troop lost only three men, while the Republic's patrol troop lost over eighty. Caazun as his men were barely able to escape, but the victory was a big stepping stone for him. His leadership and expertise rendered him great deals of respect amongst both the troops he lead and the troops he came to command.
At age twenty-three, Seargant Caazun was promoted to the rank of Captain. He was working with new trainees who had only been in camp for a week and a half on the Mandalorian territory of Dxun. Suddenly, Republic troops began to storm the premises. The training facility was on the outskirts of the main base, so the Republic forces were clearly trying to mount a small offensive and rid the camp of as many trainees as possible and leave as soon as they could. The band was comprised of mostly mercenaries, but the commanders of the troops were clearly Republic. Commanding his men to branch out in groups of three and stay down, firing only when they had a clear shot while he stood partially visible for the duration of the battle, picking off an astonishing fifty-four of the two-hundred and fifty men comprising the strike force, including dismantling two commanding officers. None of the trainees were lost as the Republic troops began to flee as the officers fell. Unfortunately, the Sergeant was hit by a rifle blast in the left leg, severely limiting his mobility even after recovery.
Over the next four years, nothing really exciting in terms of battles commenced, but Caazun was promoted twice more. First, to the rank of major, then, to the rank of lieutenant colonel. The provisions of the promotions were time served, strong leadership, and the ability to keep order within the base.
To achieve the rank of Colonel, twenty-eight year old Caazun had to work rather hard. First, he was placed in a situation of diplomacy rather than leadership. The Republic and Mandalorian Armies were squabbling more often, though he did not mind. He was given orders to negotiate a strategic indifference on both sides-- basically they wanted to end the silly attacks in order to prevent a full-scale war. Caazun managed to negotiate the indifference, but the Republic demanded weekly discussions with the Captain to ensure the indifference was still in effect.
Second, he was given orders to defend the moon of Dxun once again, only this time the attackers were pirates and they weren't really attempting to kill any of the Mandalorian soldiers, just steal supplies. Caazun was ordered to capture them at all costs, not kill unless absolutely necessary. At the age of twenty-five, the Captain placed a small platoon of swoop bikes on either side north and south of the rendezvous point, then ordered Death Watch Tanks to take the sides to flank the pirates and cause an immediate surrender. The pirates passed the rendezvous point and were immediately flanked by the swoop bikes. They panicked, and tried to escape on the sides, but were faced with huge tanks on both sides. The plan was flawless, and no casualties on either side were reported. Because of this flawless execution and display of leadership, Captain Caazun was granted the status of Colonel of the Mandalorian Special Ops.

The Colonel of the Mandalorian Special Ops sat at his desk, toiling over numerous new top secret files. The plans were detailing where the next Mandalorian strikes would be and his force of four-hundred and fifty-two men were slated to be the prep force for at least one of them. The colonel sighed as he looked out the window, wondering which spot his men would be best suited for. A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts.
"What is it?" asked the colonel. "It better be important. I'm rather busy at the moment."
"My apologies, sir. This is Lieutenant Grommwell. I am here to report that the men are ready for inspection."
"Thank you, Lieutenant."
The colonel sat back and pondered some more where he should send his men to. He'd been serving in the Mandalorian Special Ops division for almost seven years now, but he still had not had a single assault mission on the Jedi forces. Then again, he knew better than anyone that sending his men into an army of Jedi Knights-- regardless of how good his men were-- would be foolish. Caazun tapped his finger on his desk a few times before selecting one of the missions to a planet he had never even heard of before. He closed the holobank and exited his quarters.
Inspection time was always one of his favorite activities-- simply because his men were always in perfect form. There was never a thing out of place. This group was full of professionals.
When he arrived before them, everything was exactly as he expected-- perfect. He paced slowly back and forth before them, explaining the mission with his helmet on. His men were used to it, now. They knew he required it to breathe properly and speak loud enough for them to hear.
"Alright men," he began. "Our next mission is to a planet in the Outer Rim. We're heading to a planet called Gargon to extract some of the Phobium currently being mined there. This is going to be a dangerous mission. Come prepared. Dismissed."
Colonel Caazun retreated at a slow pace back to his quarters. Something struck him as odd about this mission-- his holocrons informed him of the basic uses of Phobium, but he did not think the Mandalorians needed it that badly.
"Maybe as a bargaining tool, I suppose. But that doesn't really warrant the necessity of a specialized force. I don't like this. It feels like a test of both my own and the loyalty of my men," thought the colonel to himself.
Caazun shrugged it off; he had to prepare his things for the trip. Any mission where he felt his men were endangered unreasonably made him rather angry. He couldn't do anything about this one, though, so he'd just have to take it cautiously.

Mandalorian Special Ops
