Childhood
Syn was born on the planet Glee Anslem as the daughter of Dag and Shar Vatoma. Dag was an explorer who loved discovery and adventure. He was known for getting himself into trouble while traveling around the galaxy. He took up several different jobs, never sticking with just one. These ranged from smuggling, mercenary work like being a body guard, and sometimes even bounty hunting. Despite his love for adventure, he was not a warrior, and these jobs he took never lasted long because he lost interest and moved onto the next big thing. He found himself back on Glee Anslem, finding even more exciting adventures in the oceans and deep sea caverns that rested in wait on the watery planet.
Shar was the daughter of a politician. Being as such, she was soon set on the path of law and politics. She was not an adventurer like Dag was, she liked to keep things simple, easy, and peaceful. Adventures made her stressed, and every time Dag left the planet to go after something she would be terrified of losing him. After Dag turned twenty six and Shar turned twenty two, and Dag finally became a bit more tamed and less adventurous, they married each other and soon had a baby, naming her after Shar's mother.
Unfortunately, Syn has no memory of her parents or even her home world whatsoever. Before she was even two years old, an Ishi Tib Jedi Exile named Dagon Bek came to her home planet with an agenda. He was a Dark Jedi who had plans for the Jedi Order and an unlucky force sensitive child he was looking for. So far, Dagon's search for a force sensitive child had gone on in vein. Being an amphibious being, he put his faith in the planet Glee Anslem. While searching in the Sabilon Region, Dagon found Syn, only a little babe but bearing a strong connection to the force. Without warning, the Dark Jedi struck Dag and Shar down, taking Syn in his arms. "At long last, a disciple worthy of my teachings." He smiled as he felt the force within Syn's small body.
He took his new apprentice off of Glee Anslem and took her to his world, Tibrin. He knew the planet well and was able to conceal Syn and himself in the different oceans, keeping their presence there a secret. his plan was to raise Syn Vatoma as a full Dark Jedi, never knowing anything good. Just knowing the ways of death and battle. once this was completed, Dagon would begin trying to extinguish Jedi, only saving the weaker ones for himself. He would then break them, and make them his own. He wanted his own empire of Dark Jedi and to someday rule over the galaxy, killing Jedi and even Sith so that only he and his disciples would remain. Syn would be the starting point. She would be his right hand and would possibly even take Dagon's place some point in time, if he became too weak to continue his rule.
At age two, Dagon began instructing Syn in the ways of the force. His teachings were similar to that of the Jedi, but with many differences. He taught her concentration, just like he would teach a padawan, but he also encouraged passion and the use of Syn's emotional feelings. Every hour of every day, Syn was practicing force exercises. Anything from force pushing the ocean waves to exploding coral reefs into dust. She, however, was not taught the technique of lightsaber dueling. Dagon had only his red lightsaber, and none other. This is the reason why Syn's lightsaber abilities are weak, but also the reason why she could pose a great threat with the force and force alone. She soon got to the point that she didn't need a lightsaber to defend herself. She nearly mastering the basics of the force at age ten. Dagon knew his plan was going exactly the way he wanted it, perhaps even better! Syn's training was progressing incredibly fast, but eventually she would need some sort of training in the lightsaber forms. He knew he would have to go in search for one, but as long as Syn's training was going well, he wouldn't be interested in looking for one.
At age twelve, Dagon attempted to instruct Syn in using force lightening. She nearly electrocuted herself in the first try. She had the strength to create force lightening, didn't quite have the control to maintain it, but that didn't stop her. Months after being introduced to the power, she was finally able to successfully maintain it for a long period of time without it back firing on her. It wasn't perfect though. In fact, her command of the lightening was incredibly sloppy and unpredictable. She was never fully able to master the technique, but her force lightening was still something to be feared. All of this had been done by the time she turned thirteen, after which she continued improving her force powers, never touching a lightsaber.
After three more years of intense force training, Dagon could not be prouder of his apprentice. Words could not express how powerful she had become. He hated to admit it, but she was becoming even stronger than him in the force. And despite the fact that his harsh training sessions brought her this far, he could not take all the credit for her progress in the force. Syn had a gift for it, a talent for the dark side. Dagon wished his future apprentices would become as strong and talented as her.
Now at age sixteen, Syn Vatoma's training as an apprentice was starting to become very slow. She had learned everything Dagon had to teach her about the force, and she was even learning a little bit about it on her own! It was time that she was given her very own lightsaber. However, Dagon did not have the tools to build the lightsaber hilt, or the crystals to concentrated the beams of light into a blade of energy. Instead of creating one, he decided that stealing a saber from a Jedi would be a much more satisfying and test of skill.
The Force Is Mightier Than The Sword
The both of them took a passage off of Tibrin and headed for Narshada. Being an exile, that was the first place Dagon went to when he left the order. He did not go alone of course, he was accompanied by two others. One he knew was already dead, but the other was rumored to have made Narshada is permanent home. This particular exile was a human named Victor Yamor. Victor now made a living as a bounty hunter on Narshada. His talent for sensing people in the force made it easy for him to find his targets.
The moment they landed on Nal Hutta, Syn could feel Victor's presence, but couldn't locate his exact location. Together they searched for leads on Victor Yamor, asking where he lived or what bounty he was currently hunting. It wasn't long before they found him in a cantina, wasting away a large sum of credits he had just collected. He wore leather armor, and could see his lightsaber hanging at his belt. Syn and Dagon eased up behind him, silent and undetected. Dagon smiled at his old Jedi friend as he whispered to his lovely apprentice, "Kill him." Immediately, a blast of lighting shot forth from Syn's fingers tips, wrapping Victor in the surge of energy. He crashed to the ground, dead, after the surge of bolts hit him. But Syn didn't stop, she continued surging the power of the dark side through his body, wanting to reassure herself that he was completely dead before she took the lightsaber. As everyone around her looked on in shock and horror, Syn picked up her new lightsaber. A green blade emerged from the top of the lightsaber as Syn turned it on, smiling at the powerful weapon. Satisfied, Syn and Dagon departed from the cantina, leaving Victor's body still smoking.
Now Syn's training could increase. Dagon decided that Tatooine would be a perfect place to harness her lightsaber capabilities. The terrain would be perfect for staging duels against one another. So sometime after she turned sixteen, she began to finally learn the importance of a lightsaber. Dagon started off with the basic lightsaber forms, Shii-Cho. which Syn found relatively east to do but never had a gift for it. And when Dagon tried to push her into more advanced saber techniques, Syn proved to be exceptionally weak and inexperienced. The only advanced form she was able to relate with was the Makashi form, but even Dagon's daily training didn't help her grow very strong in it. Now with her training nearly complete, Dagon and Syn began dueling each other constantly, sometimes without even warning each other. Syn pitted her lightsaber skills and even her force powers against Dagon, but had a difficult time bringing him to his knees. She never actually beat him, not at that young of an age.
Four years passed of Syn and Dagon living on Tatooine, fighting each other and roaming the deserts. Most would find such a living miserable, but Syn enjoyed it immensely. She loved the challenges her master presented her, and the harshness of the deserts she called home. But being an amphibious creature, it was not everything she wanted. Her mind turned back to Tibrin from time to time, aching to swim in the oceans and feel the water against her skin. Eventually, maybe she would return to see them, but Dagon's training always came first. And now, at age twenty, Dagon attempted to press her powers even further by teaching her Force Crush. It was a power much stronger and completed than lightening, but over time it would become Syn's favorite and most powerful ability.
Prophet of the Dark Side
For practice, Syn would test Force Crush on targets like jawas, or even sand people. It proved to be a challenging task to complete, but after months and months of practice, Syn finally became as skilled at controlling force crush as she was force lightening. Once she obtained this ability, she could feel her strength surpassing her master's. And after two more years (making her age 22) of constantly practicing and training her force abilities, Syn's role as an apprentice was complete. Dagon named her a Dark Jedi Prophet and then planned to proceed to the next stage of his plan; finding multiple force sensitive children. Syn would be the one to teach them their force abilities, and he would be the one to teach them saber techniques. But he did not live to continue on with these ideas. Syn was done with him, he had given her everything she wanted, and now his usefulness had come to an end. Completely overwhelming him in the force, she laughed as she crushed the life out of him and electrocuted him, killing her master with the very skills he taught her. After his body resembled Victor Yamor's, Syn disposed of her lightsaber and took Dagon's instead. She couldn't hold in her laughter as she saw the red blade of light extend from her grasp for the first time. Now, she was the master. She was in charge of her own life, of her own direction.
She roamed the galaxy, traveling from planet to planet, and occasionally returning to her master's home world of Tibrin. Even though she was emmotionaly unstable and surrounded her life in chaos, she always found a settling peace on Tibrin. The waves always seemed to take her to a different place free from death, turmoil, and the dark side. Of course, she pulled herself away from these thoughts, never wanting the dark side to leave her. It was the source of her power, and she loved it.
Over her travels around the outer rim, word had reached her ears of the planet Korriban. It was said Dark Jedi and Sith ruled over the planet and called it their home, and that it was a place of dark power. The Sith were not unknown to Syn, she knew who they were and that they were a force to be reckoned with. After two years of traveling the galaxy alone, she knew what she wanted. More power, more intense training, something that not even her powerful master was able to give her. She craved the teachings of the Sith. With thoughts bent on greed and power, she plotted a course for Korriban, hoping to become a Sith.

Syn's dark cloak flowed in the wind as darkness crept over and darkened the horizon. She stood high on top of a rocky cliff, below her was the camp made by Dagon and herself. She watched as a dark figure appeared below her. It was time. She ignited her green saber and leaped off the cliff, sliding down the side of it. Rock and dust kicked up from underneath her feet as she landed gracefully in front of her master, his red lightersaber now activated.
Their power in the force pounded against each other as they fought ruthlessly, blade upon blade. Dagon was slow and weak, but his skills in the saber were stronger than Syn's. She was nearly decapitated as he whirled around and swung.
Syn blocked it with her saber, but couldn't hold the blow. Her weapon flew out of her hand as Dagon leaped forth, going in for the killing blow. Syn smiled and held up an opened palm. Dagon froze in place, unable to move. She grinned and bowed down to her master, just before she turned her opened palm into a fist! She watched and laughed as her master screamed in pain, helpless to defend himself against her powerful force crush. With her free hand, she summoned force lightening and wrapped it around her master's body, finally ending his suffering.
Dagon's body fell to the ground, limp and burning. Syn bent down over his body, picking up his lightsaber. "Now I am the master." She smiled, activating the red blade of energy. Pulling her hood over her face, she attached her new saber to her belt, and left Dagon's body smoldering in the dust.
