Name: Zhane Val Redd
Race: Human
Age: 25
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 178
Appearance:
Zhane wears armor that was kept with him throughout his years until he was old enough to fit into it. He wears a Jedi robe along with the armor. The sleeves are long and cover the arms of the armor. The shoulder plates are shown outside of the robe, held to the armor by strong metallic plates. This also helps to keep the robe on. When defending himself, he rolls up the sleeves, pulls back the hood, and opens the robe, revealing the armor inside that covers his entire body, excluding his head. The armor looks old and worn with a tint of green. On the waist of the armor are a few small empty carrying cases.
Without the armor, Zhane has a not too muscular looking frame. He looks weak and frail without it. He has no distinguishing facial features. On his face are blue eyes, a normal sized nose, lips that seem quite small, and hair that goes to the back of his neck.
Birth place: Mos Esda, Tattooine
Faction: Jedi
Rank: Jedi Knight (Consular)
Bio:
A small home in the slums of Tattooine was abundant with sound as a young baby boy was being born. In one of the two bedrooms of the small house, Teiana Redd was lying down while her neighbor and close male Twi'lek friend Jur'ahba Maeto, an efficient medical practitioner, was helping her give birth. It seemed to finally be the last hours of labor when Jur'ahba yelled to Teiana in the typical Twi'lek accent, "Come on now. Just one more push and we'll have dis child out in no time." Teiana did as she was told. She pushed her hardest, running out of breath quickly as she did so. For a few seconds she was in agonizing pain and let out a cry, then she stopped suddenly and fell back on her bed. The pain was gone, the burden was over. She didn't hear crying of any sort though. In her mind she thought that something was wrong. It was silent for a bit, Jur'ahba wasn't saying a word. Teiana sat up quickly to see Jur'ahba sitting on one knee looking into his arms. Slowly he looked up to Teiana with a smile and said to her. "It's a boy, Teiana." He held up the child and gave him to Teiana. She looked down at him and saw that he was breathing just fine. "Whatcha gonna name 'im?" Jur'ahba asked after a few seconds of surveying the mother cradling her child. She pulled the baby away for a second, looked down upon his face and said to him, "Zhane....Zhane Val Redd."
About four years later, Zhane was slowly learning about the world around him. The planet of Tattooine was becoming his true home in his eyes. He was learning valuable life skills from his mother such as how to read, and learning a few things from Jur'ahba as well, like the Twi'lek language and how to fight. Though he was not very good at learning how to fight hand to hand, he was good at learning how to heal wounds and many injuries by using what was around him in the environment. Though during these years, the turning point of his young life would come soon. One normal day in the town, mother and son were traveling home from the marketplace.
They decided to take a shortcut home through a small alleyway. Zhane noticed footsteps following close behind and turned around quickly. There stood a Bith with a vibrocutter. He held it aimed at the two of them and slowly walked closer. Zhane tugged at Teiana's dress and she turned around, dropping in fright the groceries she was carrying. Zhane stood in front of his mother while the Bith mugger came closer. It spoke in a language Zhane nor his mother understood and held its hand out. Not knowing what to do, they both just stood there in fear that they were going to die. Soon the Bith walked a bit faster. This frightened Zhane, causing to hold his hands out in fear. Just then the Bith tripped and fell on his blade, stabbing himself and cutting up his insides badly, killing him. Both Zhane and his mother were both greatly surprised by this development. Zhane did not know how this happened, but his mother thought she did.
When they both arrived home, shook up from the event that just took place, Teiana looked to Zhane, sat him down, and began speaking to him. "My child, don't be frightened by what I'm about to tell you. I wish for you to be happy by this development." Zhane was looking away from her face. "You...inherited something from your father that just came out then." Zhane looked to her face in surprise. "Huh? Came out? What did?" The words came out frantically. Teiana explained, "Well, you see how the bad man fell on his...blade?" Zhane nodded. "Well, I suspect that you, my child, tripped him unintentionally. You used something that is known as The Force. But It's surprising, because people known as Jedi who protect us learn this power, but not this early. The shock and fear of thinking you might die must have awakened your power for a short time." Zhane looked to his mother with sadness in his eyes. "You saying I...killed...him?" Teiana nodded slowly. Zhane was hurt that he killed another individual. He would never be the same.
Another year passed, Zhane was honing his skills. Not only that, but he was attempting to use the power he used to accidentally kill the mugger, but to no avail. He could not use the powers again at all. "Ugh, please tell me I didn't lose the power!" He said to himself with grief. He was standing outside the front door, trying to lift a piece of scrap metal in the air, or at least move it, but it wasn't budging at all. Just then he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked back to see his mother. "Hey, Mom. What do you need?" He asked, still trying to move the piece of scrap metal. She didn't say anything. He looked back and saw that she was crying. Zhane stopped and spoke to her. "What's wrong?" She said to him slowly. "My child, I am so sorry to do this, but I need to send you...to a place that will help you learn to control your power. Jedi from the temple on Coruscant sensed a force sensitive being in the vicinity. While you were sleeping, they came to me and asked me about you. They wished me to send you to the temple in order to have you trained." Zhane was distraught at the news he was given. He did not want to leave Tattooine. He had lived there his whole life, and now his mother just wanted him to up and leave to somewhere new?
It was bad at first, but when he learned he was leaving to a different planet, he started to object even more than he did already. He felt as if his mother betrayed him and didn't want him anymore. Zhane was hurt and just couldn't bring himself to leave willingly. When his mother placed the coordinates in the ship that would send him off to the Temple located on Coruscant, right before he left, Teiana gave him a heavy sack to take with him. She didn't explain what it was. The only thing she said was that he will know what it is when the time comes. Zhane didn't say goodbye, Teiana understood how he felt. There were no words between them at the time of departure.
When he arrived on the planet and to the Jedi temple, he met with the trainers in the temple. Alone, scared, and surrounded by strangers, Zhane did not know what to do except to follow the directions laid upon him by the teachers of the Jedi Temple. His training consisted of the usual training of a future Jedi. Learning to control The Force, learn the Jedi Code, and train in fighting styles and self-defense.
Through this time, ten years passed. Zhane was fifteen. His hair was grown out and tied into a braid when he was twelve He was chosen as a Jedi Padawan by a human Jedi named Karoth Sibasi three years earlier. Karoth was a tall Jedi Master who taught Zhane the very basics of the Jedi way. All the training before was just practice for what he was going to go through these years. It was going to be grueling training, but Zhane was ready. He had matured over the many years he had already endured.
Training from Master Sibasi was tough for Zhane, but through sheer force and will he was able to master the methods he learned from Sibasi. Soon it was time to make his own lightsaber. Zhane was given time to build his own. He didn't know how to get the parts to make his own, nor did he have the resources to get any. He went to his sleeping quarters to meditate on the situation.
Memories flew throughout his mind. Thought from the past, his training, the Jedi Code, mother, the sack. The Sack! Just then Zhane jumped from his bed and found the sack underneath it. He opened it and saw that it wasn't just a sack, it was a robe. The robe held a large suit of armor inside. It looked worn and old and was tinted green. Inside the chest plate of the armor rattled something that sounded like pieces. Zhane reached inside and pulled out each of the pieces. A hilt, a pommel cap, a diatium power cell, an inert power insulator, and two crystals, one blue and one white. He didn't have all the parts though. Zhane then hurried to find Jedi Master Sibasi. When he found him in the training ring, he asked Master Sibasi for extra parts to make the lightsaber. Unfortunately, there were few, seeing as most of the other Padawans used a lot of the parts to create their lightsabers. Luckily and conveniently, Zhane found the exact parts he needed to make the lightsaber.
After many days of studying the process of creating the saber, Zhane finally succeeded in creating the weapon. To make sure, he checked that all the parts in his saber were connected correctly. Everything seemed in check. He activated the lightsaber, the blade was a bright blue. Zhane was ecstatic to see that he had finally constructed his lightsaber and couldn't wait to show his master that he finally succeeded. He deactivated the lightsaber and went to find his master. Zhane ran to Master Sibasi's sleeping quarters, the door was closed. He knocked frantically, excited to show his master that he had made his lightsaber. When Sibasi came to the door and saw the hilt of the saber he didn't really have an emotion on his face. Zhane looked to him with a bit of disappointment. He then activated the blade, that's when Master Sibasi's face flushed with delight.
"My Padawan, I am so very proud of you. You have finally made your lightsaber. Now we have to go through the process of training you with it. With this weapon, you will have to use a combination of your skills and The Force. Without either of these two, you will risk hurting yourself while using it. It is a long and grueling process and will take some time, but when completed, you shall have mastered your saber and its functions. Now rest my Padawan, tomorrow we shall begin training."
The next day, the most grueling training began for Zhane. He was put through practice sessions that pushed him to his very limits. Soon though he learned how to control The Force in his favor. Use it to his advantage. He was taught the basic form of Lightsaber combat first, Shii-Cho. He didn't master it easily though. It took him a while to take to the moves but when he finally got a hold of them, it was like second nature to him. Soon Master Sibasi began training Zhane in more comlpex forms of combat. He trained Zhane in only a few styles, but very little was taught. The only style that was taught to him and mastered by him was Niman. He dabbled very little in the other styles, but even with this small amount of experience, he was able to combine those styles with each other in order to learn Niman.
At least ten years passed when Zhane had nearly finished his training. At this time he was now twenty-five. Through dedication to his nonstop training, he had almost mastered the form that his master wanted him to learn, Niman. Master Sibasi decided that it would soon be time to allow Zhane into Jedi Knighthood. Though before that, he would have to pass the trials that all Padawan face before becoming a Jedi Knight. Master Sibasi walked to Zhane's sleeping quarters and knocked on the door. Inside, Zhane was meditating, clearing his mind of any extremities that would keep his mind off of training. Master Sibasi walked in. When he did so, Zhane noticed this by a change of The Force that he sensed from his master. It was so sudden and great that it startled him out of meditation. "Zhane, it is almost time for you to do what every Padawan needs to in order to progress to the rank of Jedi Knight." In hearing this, Zhane was ecstatic to know what he had to do. He was so sure that he would pass these trials like nothing. "What must I do, Master?" Zhane asked, ready to face whatever was put in his way.
Master Sibasi led him to the council members of the temple. The one in the center Grandmaster Baara, a Lannik, spoke to him. "Hello there, young Padawan. You have reached the time in your training to advance in rank to Jedi Knight. This has been seen by your master Karoth Sibasi. You will soon undergo the trials necessary to deem you worthy. Now, please recite the Jedi Code."
Zhane looked down with his eyes closed, and recited slowly looking up.
"Emotion, yet peace.
Ignorance, yet knowledge.
Passion, yet Serenity.
Chaos, yet Harmony.
Death, yet The Force."
Baara of the council nodded and asked. "Do you understand its meaning, young one?" Zhane nodded in reply and said to him. "Emotion, yet peace. This means that all Jedi feel emotion, yet they do not let it stand in the way of duty. Ignorance, yet Knowledge. This means that a Jedi must undertand the world around him. Passion, yet Serenity. This means that a Jedi might feel strongly about a situation, yet must not use combat to resolve it, this could lead to the Dark Side. Chaos, yet Harmony. This means that everything in the universe may seem disconnected and chaotic, but everything is interconnected in a never ending cycle of balance. Death, yet The Force. This means that death is an every day part of life. A Jedi must not fear it, but always be ready for it. Without death, Life could not exist, and even when we die, The Force still lives within us."
Baara nodded with a smile and said to Zhane, "Very good, Padawan. You show an understanding of what every Jedi stands for. Remember these words and you will go far. Now go, your Master wishes to meet with you. He is waiting in the training room."
Zhane simply walked to the training room and saw his master standing there. Zhane walked closer to him as he suddenly drew his purple lightsaber and jumped at Zhane. "Fight!" Sibasi yelled to Zhane as he flew towards him, lightsaber aimed in his direction. Zhane panicked and jumped to the side, nearly dodging Master Sibasi. He quickly drew his lightsaber, the blue blade shining, seemingly showing that it was ready to fight. Master Sibasi ran towards Zhane this time, slashing at him. Zhane blocked the attacks one after another. He soon lost his moment of mental abstraction and brought in his training. He moved fluidly throughout the training room, dodging Master Sibasi's attacks. An unexpected turn took place though. Sibasi jumped back, throwing his hand forward. Zhane was thrown backwards into the wall. He quickly got up and held his own hand forward, aiming at his master. He did the same. Zhane pushed forward with his mind, feeling the power flow from his body towards his master. Master Sibasi, without looking like he was even trying, blew forth a large amount of energy in Zhane's direction. Zhane pushed back on Sibasi's energy, but was having trouble, seeing as Sibasi was more experienced in The Force than Zhane. Because of this, Zhane knew he had to try harder. He deactivated his lightsaber and held both hands, pushing as much power as he could to the seemingly impenetrable wall of energy Sibasi was throwing at him. The struggle lasted about two minutes until Zhane finally gave in and was once again thrown back into the wall. He was weakened and could barely stand. A shadow fell over him and he looked up to see Master Sibasi. Sibasi held his hand out to assist Zhane up onto his feet. "You did well, Zhane." Sibasi said. Zhane replied in confusion, "But I didn't succeed in defeating you, Master." Master Sibasi laughed and spoke to Zhane. "Young one, it does not matter if you defeat me or not. You showed great dedication in what I've trained you. I could see it in your eyes, the want, the need to win. And besides, the Master is supposed to be much stronger than the Padawan. If it was always completely necessary for the Padawan to defeat the Master in order to pass a trial, well...we wouldn't have very many Jedi now would we?" He laughed from his words. "Wait...Master, you spoke about passing a trial."
"Yes I did, Zhane. You have passed one of your trials. It is the Trial of Skill that you have passed. I will make sure to let Grandmaster Baara know about this, but for now you must rest. I'm sure this battle took a lot out of you." Zhane nodded to him and went off to his sleeping quarters. It was late and Zhane was exhausted. The combination of fatigue from battle and sleepiness was too much for him. Right when entering his room, Zhane was asleep before even falling on the bed.
The next morning, Zhane was called in front of the Coruscant temple council. Grandmaster Baara was waiting for him. "Ah, good morning, Padawan." Baara said with warmth. "Today I have a mission for you. Somewhere a few miles from here in the fields is an underground temple. Travel there." Zhane was a bit confused. "Is there something that I must bring back, Grandmaster Baara?" Baara looked away. "You will know when you get there."
Zhane ventured forth into the fields of Coruscant. The sun was rising slowly into the sky as he walked to the underground temple. The grass was swaying with the wind that blew about Zhane's Padawan robe and felt cool as he walked against it. As he walked farther, Zhane noticed that the grass was becoming shorter and shorter. When he finally reached the underground temple he was amazed. The entrance didn't even look like one, rather a stone tablet. He pulled the stone entrance apart and walked inside. It was dark and ancient, covered in dust and cobwebs. Zhane walked in and felt a bit weaker. He walked a while until he finally realized that he was probably getting nowhere without any light. He activated his lightsaber and held it in front of him, but when he looked in front of him he saw Master Sibasi's face looking at him menacingly. He nearly dropped his saber from fright. "M...Master? Is that you?" He said, looking around for Master Sibasi. Just then a purple light quickly flew towards Zhane, to which Zhane blocked with his lightsaber. His master's face was visible behind the purple light. Sibasi's face grew more menacing with each passing second that their sabers were locked. Zhane was nearly frozen with fear. He decided that this might be another test from his master, so Zhane fought back with valor, hoping to defeat him this time. This time though felt strange to Zhane. It seemed that Master Sibasi wasn't holding back this time. It frightened Zhane a bit, but he fought harder. The longer they fought, the weaker Zhane felt. Just then, Sibasi made a mistake in his fighting. Zhane took this opportunity without thinking and slashed at Sibasi's open side. He disappeared in a cloud of dust. Zhane was scared that he killed his own master. "Oh no! Master?! Master?! Are you okay?!" He looked around but could not find him anywhere.
Fear of the situation made Zhane leave the underground temple and run back to the Jedi Temple. As soon as he entered he went to seek out Grandmaster Baara. When he found him he fell to his knees and said to him. "Grandmaster Baara, I have returned from the temple, but...something happened. I saw my master there. He battled me, but when I struck at him, he just disappeared in a cloud of dust. What does this mean?" Baara just looked to him with content and said slowly. "Zhane, what you saw was a vision. You battled your master you say? Interesting. I would say that you have passed your second trial, the Trial of the Spirit. When a Jedi, or in this case, a Padawan has a vision it usually means something. You battled and defeated your master in that vision, meaning that sometime in the future, you are destined to battle your master, but not as practice. Be prepared, young Padawan, for this might be sooner than you think." Zhane nodded and head straight to his sleeping quarters. He thought about the whole situation that just took place. It was not understood that he had this vision. It just didn't seem possible that sometime in the future, he was going to have to fight Master Sibasi. Even if he did fight him though, he would probably just end up losing the battle and more than likely dying. This scared Zhane very much. In order to train properly for the rest of the day, he would have to put this out of his mind. He did this by concentrating on the good point, that his second trial had been passed.
Weeks later, Zhane was busy training with his force powers with his master. He was moving around several metal spheres with The Force and moving them about in a circle. Then while doing so, he moved them up and down, alternating each sphere. This took extreme concentration from Zhane. One little thought and it would be broken. Just then, a Jedi Geologist walked in and stated to Sibasi, "Grandmaster Baara requests your presence Karoth Sibasi and Zhane Val Redd." Hearing his name pierced Zhane's concentration. He opened his eyes and looked in his direction. The spheres fell. He looked at Master Sibasi, who just shrugged. They both made their way to the Council room. When they arrived, Grandmaster Baara was standing there waiting for them. Right when spotting them, he began speaking.
"Good to see you both. I have a very important mission for the both of you to attend to. I believe that Zhane is ready for this kind of mission. There is a Jedi somewhere in the outer rim of the planet on the asteroid field who has turned his mind to the Dark Side. We do not know his exact location. He was sighted sometime last month by a passing ship. We fear that he has a base somewhere on an asteroid and is surveying us for his new masters. It is unfortunate seeing that this has happened, but it must be resolved." Zhane nodded. He and Master Sibasi then departed in Sibasi's ship, Frontier. A simple starship that had enough room for about four people.
The travel to the outer rim was amazing, seeing as Zhane had never seen the planet from afar. Not even during his childhood when he was being taken away from home. It was quite a sight to behold.
"Alright Zhane, we're here." Sibasi said. Zhane was surprised that they had made it to the place where the turned Jedi resided. They exited the ship to see a large barren wasteland of an asteroid with a small base in the center of the large space of nothing. "Master? How did you know exactly where it was?" Zhane asked, suspicious of his intentions.
"Well, the truth is Zhane...I am the defecting Jedi."
Zhane was shocked and apalled at this new development. He did now know how to react. He was also very surprised that his master would just come out with this kind of information.
"Zhane, I want you to become my apprentice. If you join me, we shall become the strongest duo the Galaxy has ever seen."
The choices were balanced in his head. What was he supposed to do? Join Master Sibasi? Defect to the Dark Side? Convince him to reconsider? Kill...him? Zhane was hurt by his own master being the defecting Jedi. "Well? What shall be your answer, my apprentice?"
Zhane did not like being called this. "I won't join you. I'll never join you."
Sibasi looked to him and said, "I'm grieved to hear this..." he looked to Zhane's face and saw that he was angry, "do you wish me dead? It seems as though I would be the last person you would want to see alive right now. Well, I won't stop you, go ahead and kill me. Use your anger to strike me down right now!" He said, dropping to his knees in front of Zhane. Zhane drew his lightsaber, ready to strike down his defecting master. He held the blade to his neck, but pulled back at the last second. Zhane looked down at the ground. "I can't do it. I won't." Sibasi smiled menacingly, "Well then I will!" he screamed, jumping up drawing his lightsaber and slashing at Zhane. To this, Zhane jumped backwards and held his own up in defense. Whether or not Sibasi was his master, he was now an enemy. He allowed Sibasi to jump towards him again and slash at him, Zhane blocked this attack and jumped around him, attempting to slice at his back. Sibasi rolled forward and Force Pushed Zhane into the ship they used to get on the asteroid. Zhane jumped up immediately and realized that it was going to happen again. His master was going to best him in using The Force and kill him. Instead of giving up though, he dismissed these thoughts and deactivated his lightsaber. Placing it on his hip, he held up both of his hands towards Sibasi. Sibasi laughed. "You really think you can beat me this time? Hah! Enjoy being flattened against the ship then!" He laughed, holding up only one hand towards Zhane. A few moments into the struggle, Sibasi began taunting Zhane. "You should have joined me, Zhane. That's the only reason I was training you as my own Padawan. So that you could grow and become my own apprentice. I could give you another chance. What do you say? Join me?" Zhane was infuriated with this and let his mind go completely. All the thoughts in his head were gone. Memories in his mind were put aside, emotions were dead for the moment, and all that lie in his mind was concentration. "What? What's this?!" Sibasi yelled in fear. Zhane was concentrating his full being into his Force Push, making Sibasi lose his footing and fly backwards into a small boulder. Feeling this, Zhane walked forward, eyes closed, and began throwing walls of Force Energy at Sibasi, pummeling him into the boulder. After a moment or two, Zhane stopped smashing Sibasi against the boulder. Sibasi fell to the ground, defeated. Zhane's concentration broke and he felt incredibly weak. He walked over to Sibasi, who was still lying on the ground.
Zhane had tears in his eyes, he asked a question.
"Why? Why did you defect?"
"Well Zhane...I wanted to bring back someone I loved. I heard that she was killed many many years ago. Long before you were even alive."
"What was her name?"
"She had the most beautiful name...it was Teiana."
'Teiana? My mother?!' Thought Zhane. It was impossible. It must have been someone else named Teiana. 'If he loved my mother, that must mean...he is my father!' Zhane thought to himself hopelessley.
"She died from an attack on the city of Mos Esda on the planet Tattooine. You see, merchants passing through the desert angered some Tusken Raiders. These Raiders followed the merchants and shot up the marketplace. Unfortunately Teiana was walking through. One of the Raiders ran by and broke a stand. This made the shade fall on top of her. I could do nothing about it, seeing that I was't a very practiced Jedi, I had to flee the planet, seeing as my home was being destroyed and I did not want to see the dead body of my loved one. I mourned her loss for months until a dark figure I met on Naboo told me that in turning to the Dark Side, I could learn how to bring her back. I had been trying for so long to learn this power, but in order to do so I must please my masters."
"Was her last name...Redd?"
Sibasi's eyes opened wide with surprise. "Yes, how did you know?!"
"Because Teiana Redd is my mother."
"Then...the names weren't a coincidence. I always thought that it was just chance that you had the same last name as her. Now I know...you are my son. And my Teiana...she is still alive. Too bad I won't be able to see her again."
Zhane's eyes were drenched with tears.
"Well Zhane...it looks as though my time in this world has ended. I know that we are still enemies, but I will say this...I'm proud of you." Said Sibasi with his final breath. His body went limp, and he lay there, looking as if he was asleep.
"Father...why? How did this come to pass? Oh...." Zhane fell to the ground, the exhaustion from using so much Force Energy at one time catching up with him. He fainted.
Three days passed until he awoke in his sleeping quarters. Amazed that he arrived here, he frantically attempted to get up, but was stopped by Grandmaster Baara.
"Calm down, Padawan. You have nothing to fear now, you are back in the Jedi Temple here on Coruscant."
"Where is my master?" Zhane said, hoping that this was all just a dream.
"Your master is gone. Dead."
"I killed him?" A grieved face began to appear on Zhane's face.
Baara nodded. "Yes, you did. You must remember though, he was the defecting Jedi."
"How do you know this?!"
"Because we knew all along. The Council and I knew that he was the defecting Jedi when we sensed the change around him. He was slowly turning to the Dark Side. We needed help taking him down. None of the Council members could take this task on seeing as we have a duty here to do in the Temple. The Jedi here could not do it either. The fighting style Karoth knew had balance that no other style could match. That is why we needed someone trained in that style only in order to match his power. Your extreme concentration mixed in with the style he taught you was enough to defeat him. You were able to block his attacks with the style, and use your concentration skill to attack. You are a very unique Padawan. Instead of attacking with the saber and defending yourself with The Force, you were doing the complete opposite. I also have to say, you passed your next trial. The Trial of Courage. By doing what was right, Defending yourself instead of lashing out in anger, fighting courageously in battle, and defeating a great enemy. Unfortunately, in passing this trial, you have lost something dear to you. Your master."
"He was more than my master. He was my father."
"Really now. Well, you now see that The Dark Side leads only to death. What did you learn from this?"
"Grandmaster Baara...I learned that we are all faced with temptation. More power, more abilities, more strength. The weak-willed shall fall to these temptations, but the stronger ones will see through these empty promises and know that the only path to becoming stronger is dedication to The Force. I killed my own master and father, but I should not let my feelings control me. I should put them aside and realize that I did what I was supposed to have done. This was part of my destiny and I have completed this part in my life. I will move on and not look back again."
"Well then...it seems that you have not only passed your next trial, but your final one as well. The Trial of the Flesh. You have experienced a great loss. Your master and father who's life was taken by your own hands. Though this took place, you know that the past cannot be changed. What has taken place, has happened for a reason. You understand this and have moved on. I feel that you are now finally ready to become a Jedi Knight."
Zhane's face lit up with content. He was finally going to become a Jedi.
"Grandmaster Baara, one more thing." Baara showed that Zhane had his attention. "I remember killing a man when I was four with The Force. He was a mugger and he was trying to hurt me and my mother. So I held my hands out and he tripped on his blade. Why was I not able to use the power again?"
Baara laughed and replied. "Haha, you didn't use The Force. It's not possible for four-year-olds to use it."
"Then how did I kill that man?"
"You didn't, he was probably just clumsy. Hahaha."
Zhane was relieved. He really didn't kill a man at a young age, but he realized that all of this was started with a huge coincidence.
"Now, go and meditate for the rest of the day. You will need it for tomorrow."
Zhane was placed in a large chamber. A good quiet place to meditate. Before he knew it, it was the next day. He was called upon by another Jedi and led to the Hall of Knighthood, a large dark hall. He entered slowly and heard a voice speak to him.
"Come, Padawan." To this, Zhane slowly walked forward and stood in the center of the hall.
Eight lightsabers were ignited and angled at the floor in front of Zhane. He stood there, waiting for what would happen next. He heard Grandmaster Baara's voice speak.
"We are all Jedi. The Force speaks through us. Through our actions, the Force proclaims itself and what is real. Today we are here to acknowledge what the Force has proclaimed"
Grandmaster Baara walked forward a bit still a distance from Zhane, looking to him he spoke.
"Step forward, Padawan."
Zhane walked forward.
"Zhane, by the right of the Council, by the will of the Force, I dub thee," at these words, Baara cut off Zhane's braid with his lightsaber, letting the rest of his hair fall free, "Jedi Knight of the Republic. Take up your lightsaber, Zhane Val Redd, Jedi Knight. And may The Force be with you."
After these final words were spoken, the council members saluted Zhane. It was finally done, Zhane had become a Jedi Knight. He then remembered one last thing. He ran to his room and reached under his bed, taking out the sack that was given to him by his mother. He unraveled the armor from the robe. He carefully put on the armor along with the robe. It fit perfectly. He finally understood what his mother said. He did know when the time was right. That time was now, and now that he had the armor his training was complete.

Trudging through the swamps of Naboo, Zhane was searching for a criminal that had escaped the prison world of Kessel. He was a Sith Chiss named Bera Mai. He was sent to Kessel on crimes against the Gungans of Naboo. Many of them died at his hands and he was caught by a Jedi meeting informants of the same species. A bit of mental abstraction on Bera's part led to his capture. It was unknown how he was able to escape from a cell made especially for a force-sensitive being. It seemed that he returned. Zhane was concentrating his energy to find any Force-seisitive being in the vicinity. For a few hours, Zhane had been looking around the planet, but to no avail. He was not giving up so easily though.
Zhane began to concentrate his energy in different directions. North...nothing. West...nothing. East...wait. There was something in the Northeast direction. Zhane quickly began running in that direction, following the energy he was sensing. He soon reached an area filled with trees. Energy was coming from close by. Soon, after a few moments of studying the surroundings, a voice came from all about.
"You will not make it through this swamp, Jedi. I will make sure of it."
To this, Zhane stood upright, closed his eyes, and drew his lightsaber. He concentrated on feeling the energy around him, hoping to find where it was most concentrated. A strong feeling came from behind, then it felt as if it was in the air and was becoming stronger. 'Trying to surprise me from behind, huh?' Zhane thought to himself. He then quickly ducked when Bera slashed horizontally at him. Zhane then threw a hard elbow at his gut, spun around while still crouched, and pushed him into a nearby tree with The Force. Bera dropped his lightsaber. Zhane continued to hold him against the tree. The Chiss screamed in anger, his red eyes glowing. "You damn Jedi! You will never stop me. I'll just escape once more from that damnable prison planet, and I'll be back to kill the rest of these Gungan!"
Zhane looked to him. "What do you feel you will accomplish by killing the Gungans?"
Bera stared at him with anger, and said nothing.
"Well, it seems that you will be going away again. I'm sure the rest of the Jedi will make sure you do not escape again."
Zhane brought up his other arm and spoke into a device.
"I've got him."
The device spoke back to him. "Alright, a ship is being sent to your coordinates to pick up you and the target."
Zhane nodded and let down his arm. "I ask of you to not do this again," He looked to the criminal, still being held against the tree. ", or I will have no choice but to strike you down." This placed a bit of fear into Bera Mai's heart, making it beat faster.
A small wind came about and grew as a noise became louder. The ship was approaching. It landed in a large clearing nearby. Through the moss and trees, two Jedi in robes walked through. Zhane was not turned towards them, but could feel their presence. He let go of Bera, who scrambled to his feet and attempted to run off. One of the two Jedi held out his hand towards the criminal and stopped him in his tracks. He then pulled him back. The other walked to the tree and picked up Bera's lightsaber and placing it on his waist next to his own. Zhane watched as one Jedi placed restraints on Bera while the other held him so he couldn't escape or attack. Zhane then followed them onto the ship. He sat down on a seat in the cockpit, let out a sigh, and waited out the trip back.
Race: Human
