Name: Cai Xu
Race: Human
Age: 24
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 132lbs.
Appearance: artgerm.deviantart.com/art/Three-Kingdoms-Xiao-Qiao-106119177 The picture above pretty much sums up Cai. Her head is covered with thick brown hair, and she is usually found in gentle colored clothing. Her true personality is found in her eyes. When she is with friends they seem to “grow” giving her a bubbly figure, while when working they relax, allowing her to become strictly professional.
Birth place: Galactic City/ Coruscant
Occupation: Reporter (currently signed with the HNN)
Rank: Reporter
Bio: Cai Xu was born in a peaceful household on Coruscant. Her parents had been staggering on whether to have a child for years, and eventually decided a child would bring joy to their household. The result was a child belonging to two adults in their forties.
Cai’s father, Grieg Xu, was a lesser known Senator representing Coruscant in the Senate. It looked as though Grieg “blended in” and tended to be outspoken by fellow Senators. However, he did receive a strong income, allowing Cai’s mother, Miranda Xu, to stay at home.
So Cai’s first few years in the Galaxy were spent with her mother. Her mother had a very bubbly personality, contrasting with her husband’s solemn attitude. So Cai faced a goofy mother that made funny faces, spoke in odd tones, and was always in favor of a fun game.
Cai’s personality developed through the years, and it seemed Cai had a little bit of both her mother and father in her. Her personality was an exact split between that of her parent’s. At times she was as goofy as her mother, just to transition into a serious attitude like her father. This trait would prove helpful later in life.
At the age of four, Cai began to somewhat understand the business of her father. Various conversations had proven useful for Cai to have an extraordinary understanding of politicians for a four year old. She interrupted that the Senate was a stressful place where various species would argue all day. However, she was able to understand that in the end, the decisions that came from the various departments were often flawless. Cai began to admire the Republic, and one day hoped to follow her father’s footsteps to the Senate.
A year later Cai was sent to a school on Coruscant. She found herself surrounded by adults that were even bubblier than her mother. Cai couldn’t help but think how much more knowledgeable she was then the people that intended on surrounding her, but she decided it would be easier to endure the situation then try to argue it.
The next year Cai was again sent to school, and it seemed a bit more challenging. Here she was able to learn the various subjects. She found a true passion in writing, and looked for it to be a side hobby for her as a Senator.
Through the array of days and months, Cai’s home life ceased to change. Her father babbled on about the Senator that interrupted him or that broke a promise. It was all part of the daily routine for Cai.
The next year Cai advanced to another grade. She was now eight years old. In this grade she continued to enjoy her passion for writing. Various creative stories, poems, essays, she couldn’t get enough. She was even pulled aside by her teacher at one point and congratulated due to the fact she had the best grade in the class the teacher had seen in a while. This all boosted Cai’s self-esteem. She was able to wear a smile with pride. Her grades in other subjects were average, but good enough for her.
At the age of ten, Cai was at school when a new girl walked into the class room. She wore green skin, and had a few tattoos on her face. The teacher explained her name was Mia, and that she was a Mirialan seeking refuge of Coruscant. Cai at first thought nothing of the girl, returning to her work.
It wasn’t until lunch that day that Mia introduced herself to Cai. She spoke basic, so Cai was able to understand her. The conversation revealed that Mia shared many of the same interests as Cai. Writing happened to be Mia’s favorite hobby. Cai was able to share various ideas for stories she had with Mia, and the two agreed to one day co-author a book. At this point, the idea of being a Senator had left Cai’s mind, simply another thought lost by a child.
When Cai was thirteen, things in the Senate began to stir up. Cai’s father was now sixty years old. His memory was quickly losing power, and his energy level wasn’t the best. None the less, the Senate did not slow down for him. Various rebellions around the Galaxy left their offices busy, and a solution was yet to be found. Cai’s father was coming home and immediately going to bed without dinner. Both Cai and her mother began to worry, and wanted Cai’s father to retire, but her refused. Cai saw nothing she could do, and turned to her studies to distract her.
Cai’s grade began to boost up, and her writing improved even more. At fifteen she and Mia, who had continued their friendship, began to write the book that they had promised to create. It was about a family that had lost everything to pirates, and looked to the Republic for refuge.
However, at sixteen Mia brought new to Cai that she and her family were returning home to their planet of Mirial. Cai sat for hours crying. If it weren’t for her mother’s support, she would not have been able to survive. She eventually got back on track with her life. She had allowed Mia to take the book they were writing. With the book gone, Cai had nothing to remember Mia with, and so she eventually forgot her past friend, again turning her attention to her studies.
At eighteen she graduated from the Coruscant school system, and began searching for a good university to attend. At this time, at the age of sixty-five, Cai’s father finally agreed to retire. This made Cai happy, and she took the time to notice she had a feeling she had not felt in a while. The feeling was relaxation.
Cai eventually decided to attend Coruscant University. Cai eventually made the decision to bring back her dream of becoming a Senator, and the school had a good political program. Cai thought the business had good pay, and great reward as her helpfulness could spread though the Galaxy in the occupation.
Cai attended the University. She took three classes in politics. One about the current events, one about the history of the Republic, and one about the current Senate. She was an average student in these classes. She probably could have formed a career with the grades she received, but after a while she grew bored. To attempt to end this boredom, Cai sought out an elective to take. A writing class drew her eye. It seems as though she always looked at writing as a hobby, and it never appeared to her as a career. But now she couldn’t think of a better way to bring fun to her school. She took the class and ended up loving it.
Over the next few months, Cai began to look at writing as more than a hobby. She began to realize that reading was entertainment, thus it helped the Galaxy just as much as any Senator did. The next year her mind was set and, Cai dropped politics class, and replaced them with classes that would support her in a writing career. She kept her creative writing class, thinking of becoming an author, but ended up enjoying a journalism class even more. She liked being able to tie her opinion into something she loved, and she found that people actually cared about what she wrote.
The next year, Cai finally chose a major in journalism. Her grades were extraordinary, probably because she actually enjoyed what she was learning. She was also able to tie in her past politics classes to the career.
The next year, Cai graduated at the top of her journalist class from the University of Coruscant. A few months later her parents went on a vacation to Corellia, and so Cai was on her own. She began job hunting and was offered a position in the HNN, a news station. She accepted, seeing it as a great way to expand her skills. She started off as a minor reporter, and worked behind the scenes writing various stories. A few months later, her potential as a journalist was realized by the company and she was promoted to a full-time reporter. She has worked on countless stories and interviews, and her popularity expanded throughout the Galaxy!

Cai strolled the streets of Coruscant, eager for her first official interview. She knew the city like the back of her hand, as she spent her entire life there. It seemed peaceful for the time of day, but Cai was too excited to notice.
She stopped at the steps of huge building. It lights glimmered, causing it the building to look like the home of one billion fire flies. Cai was in front of none other than the Senate building. She trotted up the steps, and her excitement began to grow.
She entered the large grouping of offices, and was immediately directed to the office of Jik Kar, a Twi’lek Senator born on Coruscant. He may not have been Cai’s number one choice to interview, but he was a start.
Cai stepped through the doors of the office. Jik Kar was a thin man, with deep, blue skin. “Ahh! I have been expecting you, please, hurry, I only have a short time…” the man gestured to a chair, which Cai scooted toward, plopping herself down once she reached it.
She knew that these interviews were always cut short, so she would ask her most important questions first.
“What is your opinion on the condition of the Galaxy.” Cai asked, eager to hear an answer. She reached into her pocket, taking out a pad of paper, as well as a pen which she hit against her chest to open.
“Hmm…Well, there is so much to say. It seems as though the Galaxy is facing rough times. Rebellion outbreaks have occurred throughout, but I assure you that the Republic has it all under control.” Jik replied.
Cai wanted to argue with the man, but knew it was improper. She could only think that the Senate had said that to the citizens of Dantooine a few months before.
“I am sorry, I am out of time. We can continue this later.” Jik explained, glancing at a clock and picking up some papers as he headed for the door.
Cai sat in the chair, somewhat stunned. She hadn’t realized how Senator’s treated members of the press, but this experience would definitely prove helpful in the future.
