BIRTH ON CORELLIA AND EARLY YEARS
Jerry Only was born to Fess Only and his wife Tamaret in Coronet City on the planet of Corellia. Fess worked in the local ship yards on Corellia and because of that Jerry was around ships from a young age. When Jerry was young, he wasn't physically in the ship yards, but he would holograms of them and hear Fess talk about them.
Jerry was immediatly fascinated by the ships, and wanted to go to thee shipyards with Fess. Though, as Fess would say "You are too young Jerry, and it is dangerous there." So Jerry was forced to rely on holograms to crave his knowledge about ships, at least until he was older.
When Jerry was eight years old, Fess decided Jerry could go to the shipyards with him. Jerry was ecstatic and couldn't wait to go. When the day came, Jerry and Fess headed to the shipyards where he watched from a distance, amazed while Fess and the others were building ships. It was then that Jerry knew he wanted to have a career based around ships.
AGES NINE-SEVENTEEN
Once Jerry returned home from the shipyards with Fess, he immediatly began to read up on ships from the HoloNet. This would be one of the only ways Jerry could quash his thirst for ships until he was sixteen. Jerry would constantly make those trips with Fess to the shipyards, and would learn more and more about the ins and outs of the various ships being built.
Jerry would also see and converse with a variety of people. Ranging from the rare Duros traveler to the ever present Republic soldiers, who were watching over the building of speedy vessels like blockade runners and the like. Jerry once conversed with a Republic Captain named Seste Vast, who seemed interested in having Jerry enlist. Though Fess told Captain Vast that Jerry was too young.
When Jerry was fifteen, Fess left the shipyards after a violent accident that left Fess with a cybernetic arm. For two years, the Only family was struggling to get by. They just had enough money saved-up to support themselves, and with no money to do anything else. When Jerry turned seventeen, he saw a way out of his current state of life, the Corellian Military. After begging his parents to give consent, on the eve of his seventeenth birthday, Fess and Tamaret agreed. So, on the day after Jerry's birthday, his parents took him to the recruitment office in Coronet City and had him enlisted as "Private Jerry Only."
THE CORELLIAN MILITARY: AGES SEVENTEEN TO TWENTY-FOUR
For the first few months of his military career, he spent them training with new recruits in every aspect of war. Ranging from firearm training to melee combat and first-aid. Jerry did resonably well considering he had combat training of any kind, but that was after all, why he was only a recruit and not anything higher.
When Jerry was eighteen, and having been trained for a full year, was given the choice to be made part of the army or of the small Corellian navy. Jerry, remembered his childhood fondness for ships, and instantly chose the navy.
Jerry was sent to serve on a Corvete under the command of Captain Zaell Jespp. Captain Jespp required total discipline among his underlings, and it took Jerry some getting used to. On the base as a recruit, there was a certain amount of discipline, but people always found a way to stretch it a bit. But there on a ship, there was no way to find ways around the harsh discipline.
For three years, Jerry served aboard Jespp's ship as nothing more than a recruit. One forgetable face among hundreds of others. After those three years, Jerry was promoted to the rank of Corporal and started to gain at least a little more notice from the higher-ups than he had before. Two months after his promotion to Crewman, Jespp's ship came under attack by a group of pirates, along the Corellian Run. The ship was returning fire, but the pirates were using hit-and-run tactics, and the pirate's fast blockade runner could easily outfly the bulky but powerful Corvette. As they were near an asteroid field, it was dangerous for Jespp's ship to both fire at the blockade runner, and give pursuit. Because of this, the only thing Jespp could do was fire sporadic shots at the ship among the asteroid field. Though eventually the Corvette started to sustain damage.
Jerry was told by his commander, to fly a ship to the pirate's vessel and attempt to disable it. Instead though, Jerry saw an opportunity to destroy the pirate's vessel by firing on a lone asteroid that was no more than twenty feet from the pirate's blockade runner. Jerry concentrated all the firepower of the starfighter, onto that asteroid and destroyed it, sending the chunks of asteroid heading straight to the pirate's vessel. The pirate's vessel ignited and Jerry returned to Jespp's vessel victorious.
With the defeat of the pirate vessel, Jespp's ship returned to Corellia for repairs. Upon their return to Corellia, Captain Jespp was stripped of his command status for "Engaging unimportant hostiles at the risk of his ship and his crew" in other words, Jespp was removed as Commander for not fleeing when he knew his ship could do nothing but sit there and take damage. Also on Corellia, the fleet commanders were impressed by Jerry's bravery and courage under fire, and awarded Jerry second-class Corellian Bloodstripes.
Captain Jespp was replaced by Admiral Jevston Brock. It was under Admiral Brock that Jerry would reach his true potential in the Corellian military, and it was under Brock's advice that Jerry would joined the Republic Navy.
Jerry served under Admiral Brock for two more years, until he was made a Petty Officer at the age of twenty-two. He was a model soldier and would do every thing by the book. This method would earn him favor with the commanders but disfavor from most of the soldiers under him. There really wasn't that much action during Jerry's last two years in the Corellian military, and it was relatively safe, despite the random attacks from pirates and the capturing of smuggling vessels. Though Admiral Brock came to Jerry one day when he was twenty-four and told him the Republic Navy was always looking for people willing to join. Admiral Brock then went to say that the Republic Navy had more potential than the Corellian Navy, and if Jerry was to go he (Admiral Brock) would give him full recommendation. Jerry accepted, and was transfered to the Republic Cruiser, "The Star Defender."
THE REPUBLIC NAVY: AGES TWENTY-FOUR TO FOURTY-ONE; PETTY OFFICER TO COMMODORE
After being transferred over to "The Star Defender," he was placed under the command of Captain Kelvdar Trakk, a gargantuan individual who prized loyalty over discipline. Jerry's time aboard "The Star Defender" was as eventful as his last few years under Admiral Brock. He had thought it was to be more exciting than what it was turning out to be, but he was thinking of requesting to be transferred, but almost as if Trakk knew what Jerry was thinking, he had Jerry promoted along with six other Petty Officers to the rank of Ensign, at the age of twenty-eight.
He was content with this promotion and forgot all about his displeasure with the lack of action. For five years after that, "The Star Defender" did nothing more than oversee inter-planetary traffic for any signs of threat and be an escort vessel for high ranking officials. It wasn't anything too exciting or interesting.
When he was thirty-three, he was promoted to the rank of Captain and given command of a small patrol craft, which he dubbed "The Mynock." The ship held no more than one hundred troops and was armed with four laser turrets. He would use "The Mynock" to search areas, that "The Star Defender" couldn't reach. For the most part, Jerry forsaked "The Mynock" in favor of remaining aboard "The Star Defender."
For three years, this continued, until he was thirty-six and was promoted to the rank of Line Captain. It was then that Jerry was sent off "The Star Defender" to a Hammerhead class-cruiser under the command of Admiral Hadson Reth. The ship was named "The Defender's Glory" and it was this ship, that would later become Jerry's flagship, "The Basilisk."
For three years, Jerry served as a commanding officer aboard "The Defender's Glory." Then, Jerry was made the second-in-command, only anwsering to Admiral Reth. That is to say, he was promoted to the rank of Commodore. His time as a Commodore was short lived. Admiral Reth was already well into his sixties when Jerry came aboard, and when he (Jerry) was fourty, Admiral Reth retired from the navy. "The Defender's Glory" was called back to Corellia, where it was given a new commander, Rear Admiral Jerry Only.
THE REPUBLIC NAVY: AGE FORTY TO PRESENT-DAY; REAR ADMIRAL
With Jerry being granted the rank of Rear Admiral, he was given command of "The Defender's Glory" a name he quickly changed to "The Basilisk" For the past eight months since his promotion, "The Basilisk" has been patrolling the Galaxy, looking for any sign of the Sith Navy as he hopes to aid the Republic reign supreme while it's being besieged on two fronts. Though he isn't exactly the most experienced Admiral the Republic has, he's been improving his skills, as he stalks the Sith looking for a slip-up he can use to his advantage.

Jerry heard a tenative bootstep behind him, and he turned to face Captain Elebor Dunharrow, one of the commanding officers on "The Basilisk."
"Yes Captain?" asked Jerry quietly, and Captain Dunharrow gave Jerry a quick salute before replying. "Admiral, General Istap Olivar, wishes to speak to you from the planet of Mygeeto." Jerry returned the salute and said "Did General Olivar, perchance say what he wanted?"
Captain Dunharrow shook his head, and said "No Admiral. He did not." Jerry nodded and said "Thank you Captain. I will speak to General Olivar immediatly. You may return to your post." Captain Dunharrow gave a final salute, and turned on his heel and walked out.
Jerry unclipped his HoloNet Transmitter and set it for the signal sent to him by General Olivar. Immediatly the image of an aging man in combat fatigues appeared. "Admiral Only" began General Olivar "Thank you for quickly replying. As you know, I am General Olivar and am currently stationed on Mygeeto."
Jerry nodded and then said "What is it you wished to speak to me about General?" General Olivar cleared his throat and said "I'll get right to the point then Admiral. Currently we have no major battery emplacements on Mygeeto, and we have recently acquired some from Cinnagar. The Cinnagarians said they cannot promise the protection of said laser batterys. So I respectfully request you to escort these batterys to me on Mygeeto. It is an important mission, which may help strengthen our position in the Outer Rim. What do you say Admiral?"
Jerry scratched his chin and then replied "Well, General it sounds like an important matter for the Republic so, I accept. 'The Basilisk' will help escort those laser batterys to Mygeeto. Good day General." The hologram of General Olivar smiled and said "Thank you Admiral. I'll see you on Mygeeto. Olivar out." Jerry deactivated the HoloNet and clipped it back on his belt. Turning to face the crew around him, Jerry yelled "Plot a course for Cinnagar!" and Jerry looked out the viewports as "The Basilisk" jolted and entered hyperspace.
"The Basilisk" exited hyperspace, and the highly industrialized planet of Empress Teta loomed before them. Jerry's comlink started to buzz, and unhooking it he anwsered "This is Admiral Only of the Republic Cruiser 'The Basilisk', who is this?" there was a gruff male voice who replied "Admiral Only, this is Captain Dethar Krett of the Cinnagarian transport fleet. Are you the one who's to escort us to Mygeeto?"
Jerry held the comlink up to his mouth and replied "Yes Captain. I am to escort you to Mygeeto. Does your fleet contain 'the goods'?" "Yes Admiral. We leave for hyperspace, in 5...4....3.....2....1!" and then in a blur of light, the Cinnagarian ships dissapeared into hyperspace. "Plot a course for Mygeeto and hurry!" Jerry yelled to the crew. With another jolt, "The Basilisk" returned to hyperspace.
