0-2 Years of Age
Jaden lived in descent section of Coruscant, his parents were hard working and honest people. His mother worked in one of the planets many Cantinas and Jadens father worked as a security guard for a private contractor. Jadens parents knew after he was born that their son was special, he had been tested at birth and was told that at on his second birthday the Jedi order would claim him.
Knowing this didn’t cause them to love him any less, Jadens time with his parents was a pleasant one. But his parents wanted a child to call their own and not long after Jadens first birthday his parents conceived a second child, a little girl and this one not force sensitive.
Much to Jaden’s parents’ dismay his second birthday came and the day after a Jedi Knight came to take the young boy to the Jedi temple where he would begin his training. They said good bye and Jaden was taken and like all small children he missed his parents for some time afterward but eventually he began to forget and his mind was filled with training and the tenets of the order.
2-10 Years of age (Youngling Years)
Jaden was subject to the rigorous training all Younglings undergo in order to hopefully one day become Padawans. His years were spent learning the finer points of lightsaber combat, knowledge of the Jedi codes, the Jedi’s history, study of the force and of course all the much less exciting basic classes such as math and science.
Jaden was incredibly focused and dedicated to learning he took his failures in stride and was able to learn from his mistakes. Jadens connection to the force wasn’t anything out of the ordinary for one might expect of a Youngling but his aptitude for the knowledge that surrounded it and ability to interpret it surprised those around him, he showed a great understanding of the force for someone his age. Jaden excelled in his academic studies as well and he was far beyond his peers, he often tried to take it upon his self to teach them what they were following behind in or had trouble learning.
While the Jedi Order certainly had nothing against one Youngling helping out another, such commodore was welcomed, but Jaden often over stepped his boundaries when he helped his classmates, or even when discussing the nature of the force with masters. Of course Jadens knowledge, while gifted, was nothing in comparison to Knights or even Padawans let alone a master.
10-23 (Padawan Years)
Jaden was still young, at merely ten years of age he simply hadn’t had any type of experiences beyond what his early training could show him. His pride in himself was something that the Jedi Knight William Hawk could sense all too easy in the Youngling, humility and discipline were what Jaden needed and those were things Hawk could teach.
Not very long after his tenth birthday Jaden was inexplicably and suddenly taken under Master Hawks wing. The first lessons were the hardest for Jaden to understand because for the first month of his training under Master Hawk took Jaden to Dantooine where he was taught to survive without the Force, to rely on his own natural abilities and what he was capable of.
During his time on Dantooine his focuses were on some of the more practical aspects of the universe that either weren’t taught or gone into on depth at the temple, such as piloting a ship or the functions of a blaster, the use of some of the cruder melee weaponry and hand to hand combat. This was a type of training that continued well past Dantooine, Master Hawk trained and drilled Jaden like that of a soldier and a scholar. If Jaden messed up he not only got a lecture, but he got the lecture while performing whatever physically excruciating thing Master Hawk could think of at the time. While still performing whatever task Master Hawk had set for him he had to recite the lecture back and the lesson learned from his mistake.
While Master Hawk was extremely hard on Jaden he showed and taught the boy many things, he taught him to strive for a balance, that an extreme no matter the intention was not a good thing. When Jaden got older and when they were in privacy he allowed Jaden to openly question something if he didn’t understand it. Master Hawk loved to debate, and he was quite skilled at it, it was a trait he was trying to pass on to Jaden as well.
Striving for balance is why Master Hawk taught Jaden Form VI. It combined the first five forms together, striving to find a balance between them. It was same outlook as his teachings and he wanted his padawan to have that view in not just life but in combat as well and Niman was the best style to reflect that.
As Jaden got older he began to better understand his masters teachings, his own thirst for knowledge had been tempered by self discipline. Jadens natural ability to learn anything quickly was a boon and allowed Master Hawk to teach him a multitude of skills, different areas of the force and how and when to call upon them.
Master Hawk took Jaden with him on his missions, missions that often required subterfuge and hiding the fact that they were Jedi. Master Hawk’s techniques were morally questionable at times and he believed that certain darker deeds had to be done in order to preserve the many. Master Hawk called these the ‘grey areas’ of the force.
Master Hawk taught Jaden something else as well, something the Jedi Knight knew the council would not agree with. He spoke to Jaden about a balance, that in order to understand everything you had to try and see the world through different sets of eyes. He taught that the force was no different and to truly understand it one had to understand not only the light, but the dark as well.
Master Hawk moved Jaden slowly along the teachings of the Dark Side and compared them to the Light Side, he explained the differences and what he believed was a weakness in each and their strengths. Master Hawk warned against the Dark Sides temptation, that foolish Jedi reached for so much power that it consumed them and blinded them which was why the Dark Side was feared by the other Jedi.
Like all of his other studies Jaden excelled in his teachings, he found the origins and belief structure of the Dark Side to be extremely fascinating. Master Hawk watched Jaden carefully, noting every step he took while trying to understand the Dark Side and pulling him back when he ventured to far.
The bond between Master and Student deepened as they began to share the secrets of their studies, Master Hawk finally being able to teach his beliefs and take confidence in his new pupil and Jaden reveled in his master’s trust but always moved with focus and discipline.
When Jaden turned seventeen Master Hawk took him back to Dantooine, this time it was not a lesson on how to survive on one’s own skill but to have his Padawan construct his own lightsaber. While thrilled that his master believed him to finally be ready Jaden couldn’t help but be worried that he would somehow fail and be a disappointment.
Master Hawk lead the way to the cave where Jaden would find a crystal that suited him. It took Jaden nearly two days to find a crystal, or more accurately, for a crystal to find him. He wandered the cave and several times having picked up a crystal, staring at it and inspecting it before setting it down and moving onto the next one.
It wasn’t until Jaden came across a lone crystal, as if the other crystals around it had already been taken, that he finally found the one that called to him. The crystal was a deep blue, a color Jaden compared to the ocean, and once he possessed it him and Master Hawk took their leave back to Coruscant and the Jedi Temple where he could work in peace.
Jaden spent a month in near solitude, Master Hawk being the only person t come by, dropping off meals and check in on his Padawan. Attuning to his crystal wasn’t very difficult for Jaden, it merely took a set amount of time before he deemed his crystal ready. The actually construction of his lightsaber was a different matter all together.
Jaden thought about the many different lightsaber styles he had seen, colors and personal touches that all Jedi put on them to truly make them unique. Jaden decided on a hilt that resembled his masters, it would be a round smooth single piece of metal for the hilt. Like his masters its grip would be no more than a special clear adhesive that prevented slippage but allowed the hilt to retain its streamline appearance, it’s ignition switch would be at the very top of his saber, it actually had to be turned a quarter clockwise to ignite or counter-clockwise to disengage. Unlike his master, whose hilt was metallic silver, Jadens would be a metallic blue a slightly darker shade then the crystal.
Nearly twenty three years old, nearing his trials, Master Hawk and Jaden were sent to investigate a possibly slaving circuit in the lower sections of Coruscant. The mission was a routine one as far as Jaden was concerned, if their intelligence was right then the circuit was small, just beginning and by catching it early they would be able to put a stop to it before any serious damage was done.
While the two Jedis made their way through the slums of Coruscant, concealing the fact they were Jedi, Jaden began to feel emotions of pain, great pain. They followed this pain and soon found their way to a slave merchant and the dozen or so slaves he had penned up. They weren’t nearly as armed or guarded as they had originally anticipated but there was something that no one had foreseen.
Master Hawk came face to face with what Jaden could only explain to be a clone; in fact Master Hawk had a twin brother. The look on his masters face was nothing less than shock, his brother only smiled smugly. Master Hawks brother, Tasis, explained the story behind the two, that Tasis was supposed to have been a Jedi but while he had been a Padawan his master fell in battle, and instead of completing the mission he had fled and turned to the Dark Side of the Force, to gain power and seek his revenge. Jaden didn’t understand much of it, but he could sense his Masters emotions in turmoil. He needed to act.
In an act that was rather brash and stupid Jaden leapt to attack Tasis, to his surprise Master Hawk intercepted him. Jaden was stunned, his own emotions were in turmoil, nothing was clear nothing made sense, it was at this time he understood what his master had said all those years back about the ‘grey side’ of the force.
Jaden lowered his own lightsaber, unwilling to raise it against his master. The last thing he saw of his master was a smile, and then the tip of a red lightsaber as it passed through his master’s neck. Jaden stood, frozen in shock as he watched Master Hawk fall to the ground, Tasis standing a meter behind him and having taken advantage of the opening.
Before he could act Jaden was tossed through the air by the force, slammed against the metal siding of a building. Despite his anger, his hatred for the man in front of him Jaden executed complete self control as he rose to his feet, igniting his own saber.
Jaden fought valiantly against Tasis, but the dark jedi was simply beyond his skill. He used every trick he could think of, everything that Master Hawk had taught him he put to use and while he scored minor hits they were nothing of substance.
On his knees defeated, Jaden stared Tasis in the eyes, the man’s red lightsaber only inches from his neck. Jadens mind screamed at him this couldn't be it this was not the way he was going to die. There had to be something he could do, anything!
Desperation brought Jadens mind along new roads, quickly he began to formulate a plan against Tasis. Without giving him a chance to doubt himself Jaden pushed back and to the side with his knees, using the force to enhance his movement. Jaden came up into a roll, his hands up defensively, a useless gesture against an opponent wielding a lightsaber, but one that signaled he had not given up yet.
Tasis hadn't moved, he merely stared at the Padawan through uncaring eyes a smirk of amusement plastered over his features but Before Jaden could act Tasis leaped into the air, his form rotating as nimbly landed on a speeder that had been tactically hidden above their line of sight. Jaden reached out with the force, he tried to grab a hold of the speeder and tear it from the sky. He failed, and Tasis took off into the sky, leaving Jaden alone to clean up the mess left behind.
Jaden reported to the council of the actions that had taken place, of his master’s death and the reappearance of Tasis. There council deemed that there was nothing more that Jaden could have done, he had completed his mission, the slaves had been freed and Jaden had acted to the best of his abilities. The council also deemed that the Padawan was ready to take the Trials.

Jaden sat cross legged on the cold stone floor his eyes no longer closed in meditation. The Jedi Knight was still in deep thought that much was obvious by the intense look in his eyes as he stared straight ahead at the door.
He wasn’t really looking at the door, but past it, if someone would have been watching him in his private chambers they would have sworn that he had simply fallen asleep with his eyes open.
Jaden got a quick glimpse of the future as he concentrated on the small oscillations of energy he could feel beyond his normal sight, the door exploding inward and crashing into him smashing him into his bed.
Jaden leapt to the side at the moment the explosion rocketed the door inwards. Jaden used the momentum of his dive to roll, then rolling to his feet he continued momentum to take one, two and three steps up the side of the wall, kicking off as blaster fire scorched right where he had taken each step.
He performed a fairly agile flip as he spun his body around to get a look at his attacker, a droid as he had suspected but not of a model or make he had seen before.
The thing resembled a scorpion only larger, made of metal and had more weapons then an illegal arms dealer could shake a stick at. Instinctively Jaden reached out with the force, an attempt to toss it back out the hall and give him another moment to prepare. It didn’t move, the ends of its legs were barbed and sunk several inches into the steel floor. It responded by leveling its tail and firing another large laser at him.
Jaden once again found himself diving across his cold floor, only to rise to his feet and leap back the way he had come. As he thought, the large scorpion thing had already fired several more times, directly at where it predicted the Jedi would run up the wall again.
Gathering the blasted door in the force Jaden sent it spinning at the Scropion, following closely behind the familiar hum of his blue saber coming to life as he brought it to bear.
One of the scropions large pincers reached out to catch the flying door out of mid air, then with a resounding crunch snapped it in two. Jaden followed behind the door, kicking off it only a moment before it was snapped.
The scorpion brought its tail around to strike Jaden out of mid air, Jaden brought his lightsaber around to remove the tail from the rest of its body. The tail proved stronger, the lightsaber bit about a quarter of the way into the tail, but the resounding force from the blow sent Jaden against the side of the wall with a thud, luckily he managed to keep hold of his weapon.
Jaden didn’t know how, but the creature was on top of him then, an arm grappled up in each pincer as it brought the tail to touch against the tip of his fore head. The tip glowed red for a brief moment…
…Jaden eyes snapped open startled from his meditation, a look of shock that quickly turned into a stern look as he locked his eyes onto his chamber doors, reaching out with the force…
The door of his chambers rocketed forward, smashing into his bed, and sending debris everywhere. Not a moment later a large scorpion looking droid came scurrying into the room, it’s scanners sweeping over the room, a moment passed and it backed out continuing its course down the hall.
Jaden stared at his door through the ventilation shaft that passed through his room, he watched as the thing entered and then left an amused look over his face. He didn’t make so much as a sound as he tried to navigate his way around, to the next room where he could the drop on it… he wondered what the rooms next occupants reaction would be when he came crashing through the ceiling to ride a giant jedi killing scorpion?
