Early years -9 months-5
Fate did not smile on this young half breed. Her troubles starting before she was even conceived. Her mother, a beautiful Miraluka named Laija, had been raped. Her husband, Kaladen, did all he could to find justice for this cruel act, but justice was never found for the assaulter. Dispute her husbands plea that this unnatural child should not be, Laija chose to keep the baby. This decision proved fatal for Laija who died at Kiela's birth.
Kaladen Could not bare the loss of his beloved and blamed Kiela for her death. It infuriated him even more to see the colorless eyes that decorated Kiela's face. To honor his deceased wife Kaladen kept Kiela, though he poorly cared for her and constantly blamed her for Laijas death. He didn't even give her a name at first.
Soon Kiela began to speak, her first word was mimicked from her father coming out as, "key-la." Angrily Kaladen yelled at her "Now you admit it! You are a Killer!" He decided then and there that everyone would know what she was and named her "Kiela".
Kaladen finally lost it once she began to speak in full sentences. In her tainted innocence she asked him, "How did I kill mommy?" Kiela still did not understand what killing really meant.
Kaladen lost it, he did not care how much like Laija she looked, or how her voice reminded him of the sweet words his dear wife had said to him. He took out his rage and anger and sadness on Kiela at that moment.
You call this slavery? 5-16
After she had healed up enough to look somewhat presentable, Kaladen took her from the house. It was her first time leaving her prison called home and she would never return there again. Kaladen had made arrangements with a specialized tradesman, rumored to be in the slave trading business but with no proof to pin it on him.
Kiela watched as her adopted father accept something from a strange looking man. This man then took Kiela by the hand and lead her away. She looked back to Kaladen only to see him walk away without a single glance back. She noticed something strange in the way he walked, as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
Kielas shoulders, however, began to get weighed down. She was sold quickly as a slave to a wealthy man that claimed he was a merchant living on Gargon. He put her to work in the fields with other children. The work wasn't too difficult and Kiela was at least glad to be outside.
It wasn't till late in her fifth year that Kiela began noticing something was different about her. She could tell what some of the other slaves were feeling and sometimes what they were thinking. Many of them avoided her, they didn't like that she could see even though her eyes were useless.
Beriah kept an eye on Kiela though. He noticed something different about her and decided to make use of it. Soon Kiela was moved from working in the fields to being in the house. Beriah didn't have her work as the other slaves, instead he had her taught and trained. He carefully selected specific things for her to study each week.
By the time she was six Beriah had brought in a special tutor for her. This tutor, like some of the slaves, was Twi'Lek calling himself Shi'tan, and he began to teach her odd things, calling these teachings the way of the force. Kiela had never heard of this but enjoyed it. Soon she was messing with the younger slaves.
Soon Shi'tan began to teach her how to use a lightsaber. Kiela was fascinated by it. Spending days learning new moves and hardly stopping to eat or sleep.
Beriah watched her progress closely and constantly told he she could do better. Kiela had never had such kindness and so tried harder each day.
Beriah took her aside one day and asked if she would do him a favor. Of course she accepted and Beriah took her to Corascant. She was amazed at the city and so happy that Beriah had brought her. He handed her a small data pad instructing her not to look at it for an hour. Upon opening it she was to follow the instructions and then meet him back at the ship. Beriah left her there, eager to please him.
The hour seemed like days, but it finally came. Kiela read the instructions on the data pad. They were simple to understand, and she followed them, going to a near by canteena. She walked in, many of the patron staring at her and wondering what she was doing there. She took one last look at the data pad, matching the picture it held with a man at one of the tables.
The man didn't notice her at first, though she stood right next to him. He laughed at seeing her and asked why she was there. Kiela smiled and plunged a small dagger into the mans throat simply stating, "I'm killing you."
Kiela turned and ran, leaving the small blade in the mans throat. The patrons stared, so surprised that it took a moment before anyone moved to chase her. But Kiela was quick and could easily slip in and out of the people in the crowded streets. miraculously she slipped past her pursuers and hid in Beriahs ship, waiting for his return.
Kiela did not see Beriah come back on the ship, she had fallen asleep. She awoke during the trip back, Overhearing Beriah talking to someone she had never seen before. Beriah spoke of how surprised he was that Kiela was still alive. He had planned on her dieing but now could use her and her skills for more assassinations.
Kiela realized she was being used, Beriah didn't care for her. She pretended to sleep the rest of the way back to Gargon. She kept her facade, continuing training and learning the force. It seemed like every year Beriah would have her kill another inconvenient person that owed him money and would not pay. Each time Kiela was a little more careful. Beriah was using her for his needs, and she would use Beriah to gain the training she wanted.
At 12 years of age, Shi'tan brought her a gift. A small bag of crystals. There were only, but she was told she only needed two. She was instructed to make her own light saber. She began the process, but had to stop to do one of Beriahs bidding's.
When she returned she decided to start anew and began again to make her light saber. It took almost a month, but when she was done she was not satisfied. The Twi'lek told her it was good, but Kiela felt something was missing, so she began again, making another. Though the quality was better then the first she was still not satisfied and began to make another with the last crystals she had.
At 13 Beriah had a new mission for Kiela. He did not want her to kill this person but rather, get information. Beriah had learned that this man liked little girls. Kiela was pretty and fit the bill. Soon they were off to Concord Dawn. Though it was a horrific experience Kiela was able to get the information Beriah requested.
Kiela despised Beriah for making her do that. She trained harder and harder to take her anger out. She finished the third lightsaber, but was still not satisfied. She convinced the Twi'lek to teach her more forms of lightsaber fighting. She practiced and learned technique after technique jumping from one style to another. She didn't train too long in one specific style but always returned to each and everyone to learn more of it's ways.
Her own freedom 17-24
Kiela maintained the deceitful mask she wore to stay on Beriahs good side and reap the benefits he had to offer. Shi'tan, however could sense her anger but spoke nothing of it while Beriah was near. Shi'tan told her of the power that could be hers and that if she wished he could show her more then what Beriah was telling him to teach her. She was more then willing to learn.
Over the next few years she secretly slipped out of the house to receive training from Shi'tan. He showed her how to focus her anger and make it her strength. She told him of her disgust in Beriah. Shi'tan told her of his oath he had sworn to his father, to work for Beriah. Her trust grew in him every day.
Her trust in Beriah, however, was diminished to no more then a dank puddle not even a dog would drink from. With each new mission she was sent on brought worse conditions. Kiela began to feel like a tool in his hands. Whether it was for killing or for information, Beriah used her skills and body as he pleased. Shi'tan taught her to shut her emotions and feeling down with the force, helping her cope with these times.
She thought of running away, it would be so easy, no one was watching her when she was on a mission. But she longed for more power, to learn more from Shi'tan. For this alone she put up with Beriah and acted the part. But she knew one day Shi'tan would have no more to teach her.
That day came sooner then she had expected. Beriah became nervous of her growth and skill and feared he would lose his leverage on her. He told Shi'tan to quit training her but continued to have him go and act as if he had something new for her. It did not take long for Kiela to realize Shi'tan was only wasting time in their training sessions.
Growing more nervous by the day, Beriah decided it was time to end it. He sent Kiela on what he planned to be her final mission. Beriah also sent Shi'tan as an escort with orders to kill her if the plan failed. It wasn't long before they reached their destination, Selonia.
Shi'tan handed Kiela the data pad containing her mission information with directions to meet him back at the ship in two days. Without hesitation she headed off to follow the directions, knowing full well Shi'tan was following her. The mission was simple, Collect any information on trade routs for the LM-KN/Z Combat Droids. She was to be Colth Seigen's nightly entertainment.
She wasted no time and payed little attention to the guard outside the door. Colth seemed pleased to see her, though he seemed more interested in seeing the lovely 21 year old body that she had. Kiela however was finished, she walked up to Colth slowly undoing her robe, and without a word activated her lightsaber sending it's blade searing through his chest. She paused only to tighten the robe before heading out.
Shi'tan sensed something wrong and arrived in time to see Kiela dart down an alley, the guard already dead. He began to chase her, but Kiela was too quick, she had relied on her speed, and it payed off. Shi'tan could only watch as the ship took off.
Beriah was pleased to see the ship return so soon, thinking Shi'tan had finished her off quickly. To his shock and horror, Kiela stepped out of the ship to greet him. Beriah began to beg for mercy, seeing the rage in Kiela's sightless eyes. He promised her riches and power, but his empty promises didn't reach her. Shi'tans training however did. She reached out with the force gripping Beriahs throat and lifting him in the air, for a moment she thought of saying something to him, but what was the use, he'd be dead in a matter of seconds. She held him there a moment longer after he had died before releasing him and letting his lifeless corpse fall in a heap.
She stayed long enough to grab a few things before taking the ship and leaving. She payed no attention to where she was heading, for she didn't know. Her eyes were blind, and she had just plucked out one eye that had been watching her. Now if she could only find her so called father.
She ended up on Metellos. Kiela had no real plans, she had never been out of the directing eye of another. She sold the ship and found a place to live. Though it was a pathetic excuse of a slum, she could call it her own. Knowing nothing else, she returned to killing, hiring herself out as an assassin. This was her freedom.

She sat in the darkness of her small room, not bothering to use the light, it made no difference to her. The wind slipping in through the cracks in the walls maked a faint whistling. She could hear the people outside, She could hear their voices, their footsteps, their arguing, their anger, their guilt, and their pain. At times she felt as if she could feel their very souls. Kiela smiled, glancing down at her newly constructed lightsaber. It was the fourth one she had made, and like the rest she was still not satisfied, though it would do. It had become a hobby to her, a collection as she called it. She enjoyed creating something so powerful, though finding the crystals made her hobby a hard task.
She decided this new one would work for today and clipped it on her belt. She paused a moment, pulling her cloak over her shoulders before stepping out into the crowded street.
She was late and she knew it. But she wanted them to wait. They always seemed so nervouse and waiting seemed to make the tension grow, the thought alone made her smile as she entered the run down canteena.
From the back of the room came an off tune corus from and obviously untalanted preformer. Kiela instantly noticed the man in the corner watching her, he wasn't who she saught, but she knew he was with them. An extra paire of eyes and backup she guessed. But he was not why she had come, her party sat in another corner, the only other people in this sorry excuse of a bar. The two men, a Cerean and a Twi'Lek, only glanced at her as she entered.
She walked causually towards them and noted the confused look in their eyes. "If they say anything about being a woman..."[/i] she thought to herself. She didn't wait for an invitation but sat down staring at the men with her lifeless eyes.
The two men looked at each other a moment before turning back to Kiela. The Cerean spoke, "Did he send you?"
Kiela shook her head, "I am the he you are reffering to. But it seems the task you have is too trivial for a woman to accomplish. I'll leave." Kiela stood and turned.
"Wait" the Twi'Lek insisted, "Our deepest appologies. We have heared of your skills, but how do we know you can accomplish the... task."
Kiela grinned to herself, "Your thug in the corner. His death will be your proof."
Before them men could attempt to deny his being with them she pulled a data pad from her cloak and tossed it on the table. "Put the job information there and leave it with the bartender."
Kiela turned and headed for the door pausing a moment to glance at the man in the corner. She noticed the other two men nervously watching. She raised her hand and soon the man began gasping for air and clawing at his throat. Within seconds it was over. She nodded to the bartender as she stepped outside and dissapeared in the crowd of people, another contract made.
