Way late, I know.... but with the finale last night, I was wondering if there were other fans.
Or... that maybe there will be new fans now that the series DVD set comes out later in August.
I, for one, am deeply saddened to have to say good-bye to this show.

I watched the finale last night too, and I'm really wanting to go through the entire series again to watch it. I was kind of saddened by so little Daniel/Charlotte screen time, but other than that I really liked the ending. It really wrapped up in a way that most fit the show, and gave us things to ponder at the same time. The entire series was like that, and I'm just sorry it had to end.
All in all, though it was a very good show, and I'm going to miss it.

I agree. There's little else on television like it--Fringe is close, but nowhere near as wild and unbelievable with storytelling ideas. As much as people who have gone on about mysteries and smoke monsters and the Others, the show was really about characters, especially our lead character, Jack Shepard.
It's so notable and strong a show, I was surprised to figure out a few things as of late. 24 has been on longer than Lost. When How I Met Your Mother started, Lost was only starting its second season. Ronald D. Moore's version of Battlestar Galactica started the same year as Lost.
The most interesting thing about the Lost finale: I think people aren't going to really understand it, or start to understand it, for quite some time. Maybe years.

Aye, I recorded the pilot that they showed on Sat. but haven't watched it yet. I think I will soon, though, and start going through it season by season again. I think it'll give the earlier seasons a new dimension now that I know how it all ends.
And, yeah, even though it's sad that it's gone, I do agree with you guys that it ended in a perfect way for LOST. Some things explained, some things left up to the imagination. And that's what I loved about this show. It was different and unique. I just hope that we might have more shows like this in the future.
