Species Name: G'ath
Species Type: Insectiod/Reptilian
Planet of Origin
---------------Chog'ath---------------
The atmosphere of Chog'ath is nearly unbreathable to most sentient lifeforms without the assistance of a device . The surface is barren with many mountains and sprawling underground. The G'ath are dominant on the planet, having almost no natural predators.
---------------Average Maximum age---------------
The G'ath can naturally live for as long as 2,500 years with a food supply. Without, a G'ath will live for about 100 years. They can lie dormant for long periods of time until awoken and their need to eat drives them to hunt.
---------------Age of Maturation---------------
Stage 3
---------------Average Height---------------
S1: 3 mm
S2: 9 inches
S3: 6' 7
S4: 9' 2
S5: 9' 4
S6: 14' 7
---------------Average Weight---------------
S1: .35 lb
S2: 5 lb
S3: 175 lb
S4: 550 lb
S5: 530 lb
S6: 1000 lb
---------------Notable biological features---------------
All stages of G'ath life have a insectiod/reptilian appearance. As they advance with a steady supply of food, they grow and mutate into a new form under the directive of the Queen. All G'ath exoskeleton increase in protection and toughness with each stage increase, making them powerful creatures if allowed to mature to stage 6.
G'ath begin to form protection against blasters and slugs at around stage 3. Stage 1-2 are easily dispatched with single fire but at Stage 3, more then a three round burst will be required to pierce the exoskeleton. Stage 4 G'ath require sustained fire with Stage 5 being the same way. However at Stage 6, blasters and slugs are near ineffective and heavy weaponry is required to eliminate them. Every stage of G'ath's armor is highly ineffective against lightsabers.
One of the most deadly weapons Stage 3+ G'ath have is a scream. This scream is on such a high level that it affects a user's body, making them unable to focus properly/dazing them for a little while and meaning that they then can't focus properly to use the Force briefly.
As of Stage 3, all G'ath are capable of firing spiny needles from their mouths that are ranging from finger to arm length of a humanoid. These spines are numerous in number and are stored in a gland, as they are made in their bodies. Resupplying spines takes hours to do and only the Stage 5 G'ath can rapidly make them to constantly resupply.

Queen:
-----------------Culture-----------------
The G'ath are controlled by the Queen of the Hive, a colossal creature in the middle of Chog'ath that is nearly 50 feet tall. The G'ath are creatures of primal instinct, only the higher forms of G'ath possessing intelligence to be comparable to an average human being. The Queen controls her brood from across the galaxy. They care for nothing but to feed and grow, to continue the race as a whole.
When a stage 1 G'ath is born, it will seek out a host to feed upon. This comes in the form of burrowing in the flesh of a potential host, being unnoticeable due to a numbing fluid they apply before doing so.
Stage 2 G'ath are born when Stage 1 has received enough feasting from the host. It bursts from its host in a violent manner, often killing them. In the aftermath, the Stage 2 will feast on the remains and continue its hunt for food.
Stage 3 G'ath are considered both warriors and harvesters for the G'ath, bringing hosts back to the hive for young to feed upon and begin the cycle anew. They are capable of morphing into two different forms.
Stage 4 is achieved when enough food is feasted on and when directed by the Queen, will metamorphosis from a Stage 3. Stage 4 are the heavy assault soldiers of the Hive.
Stage 5 is rarely called upon by the Queen but in times of need, she will order her Stage 3s into metamorphosis. These soldiers are the flyers of the Hive, sprouting wings to take to the sky to take down foes unable to be touched by the ground forces.
Stage 6 is the royal guard of the Queen, protecting her lair from intruders and sometimes going into the battlefield to deal with a foe the normal stages cannot handle. They are most durable of all stages.
---------------History---------------
In a time of threat, men can devolve into mindless monsters. However there are some who willingly do so and do things that would make the normal man balk in sickness. The story of the G'ath begins with Mordun Kaido, a Sith alchemist who lived during the age of the great Civil war between the Jedi and those who would rather embrace the dark side then be pacifists. Mordun's history isn't what is important but what he had done is the key point with his involvement with the G'ath.
He was the creator, the father of one of the most disturbing races unknown to galactic society. They were intended to fight the Jedi, to be released on planets and wipe out entire enclaves, perhaps even the temple of Coruscant. However, Kaido thought his creations a colossal failure and dropped them off on a planet named Chorg'ath. At this time, the planet was lush and vivid with wildlife, but that was soon to change when the Kaido's creations would evolve.
The process took centuries, but they began to grow into what they are today and soon the wildlife of Chorg'ath was starting to become but mere fodder to the Hive mind of the G'ath. The dark side aura that these alchemy created monsters gave off slowly destroyed nature around them, withering trees and killing the very soil. The G'ath Queen pushed her race forward, her intelligence surpassing her own children and eventually the planet became a barren wasteland, only the hardiest of animals able to combat and survive against the swarming G'ath.
The G'ath took to living underground, the Queen nestled near the planets core as her children made Chorg'ath into a horrific planet of nightmares. Very few travelers came here and even when they stayed, overcoming the near unbreathable air, they would be slaughtered by the mindless G'ath to become food and host for the next line of G'ath warriors.
Now the Queen, realizing her species cannot live forever on G'ath, looks to the stars, her mind calculating a way to spread her children across the galaxy.
