Name: Jarzec Taelstrom
Race: Human
Age:22
Height: 6'
Weight: 165 lb
Appearance: Decent looking young sir, not handsome or gorgeous, but not ugly either. Brown Hair. Brown eyes. Caucasian. Stature is of lean build. Neither muscular nor frail. Otherwise just a general looking guy. Black robes. That of the Dark Jedi standard. No mask of any sort. Has a gruff type of voice, one people tend to listen to, but not the commanding type.
Here is a picture of my poorly described character. It's about how his form would look, and the lightsaber color is a bit incorrect, but, eh, whatever.
He has no items on his person that he typically carries around, as he is open. When traveling however, he carries a knapsack, standard RL backpack size.
His personality is somewhat cold. His interactions have mainly been with people he's had the intent of decieving or using. Thus his social skills aren't lacking. The dark side cannot be detected exactly in his voice but much more so probably in what he says and his presence for those who are Force-sensitive. His motives are constantly towards that of power, but his basis in that is lies almost exclusively in his lust of the Force and its knowledge, particularly that of the destructive features of the Dark Side. The grounds for this is expressed in the bio.
Birth place: Nar Shaddaa
Faction: Dark Jedi
Rank: Knight
-Assassin (But out of lack for a better term, he's by no means a stealthy or fast guy )
Bio:
Jarzec Taelstrom was born to Timothy and Caereta Taelstrom on the planet Nar Shaddaa 22 years ago. He was born and remained an only child. He was raised in the lower, crime-ridden streets there until he turned the age of three. It was around that age when his whole world would turn upside-down. A Dark Jedi by the name of Rexmex Tevec happened to pass by the small hovel the Taelstroms called home. He detected a faint, but sound presence in the Force. For Rex, this was his lucky day. He was in the search for an apprentice and had been scouting for one in Nar Shaddaa for a few months now. He desired an apprentice that he may feel more powerful and have one that may pass on his legacy. Rex was also a particularly cruel Dark Jedi. One skilled in the Force more so than with a lightsaber. And here, with the unsuspecting boy, he had found what he was searching for.
It was the next day that Rex attacked. First was his father who was out doing odd jobs to keep the family on their feet. Tim did suprisingly well, too, for he was a hard working man and couldn't bear to see his family in dire straits. After Rex had personally killed Tim, he came next for the mother. In order to assure Jarzwc as a stable apprentice, he did not wish for Jar to see, for that would destroy his credibilty as his master. Instead, he used deceit and persuasion to have a simple pedestrian slay Jar's mother. This man was but a simple swoop racer, who lived on his own and also barely made a living for himself. Rex merely got him drunk, told him a few untruths, pushed a little influence on his weak mind and unleashed him upon Jarzec and his mother.
Jar watched in horror as his mother was approached by this man and killed before his eyes; and just as Rex had planned, the man came next for Jar. That was when Rex stepped in and killed the man. By now millions of emotions were raging within Jar's young self. Anger, hatred, sorrow, worry, grief, dispair, hopelessness and an ounce of gratitude. This stranger had killed the man who killed his mother. He found himself thankful for that in some small degree. He then realized his situation. It was just him and his father now, when in reality his father had been killed just hours earlier. The stranger (Rex) approached Jarzec and explained to him that his father was also dead, and that a Crime Lord had arranged both attacks. Being young and naive and coupled with the fact that Rex was also using the Force to influence Jar's weak, young mind, Jar believed him and now was even further devastated. That was when Rex offered to take care of Jarzec. The young Force-sensitive had no choice.
Rex was, by no stretch of the imagination, a compassionate guardian. Rexmex was a man of 54 years of age, withered, sunken face, but not , nessisarily dark, merely old. He was strong in the force, and what one could consider a master. In his past lay the tale of a strong Jedi Knight Consular, who fell to his drive for power. He saw Jar's sorrow as weak, and taught him that the hatred he had felt would lead him to power. He showed him how to use that anger. Rex made sure Jar had the hatred needed to fuel his lessons. He would abuse Jar out of his frustrations, and distaste for what had become of him (Rex), how he still could not sate his hunger for power and that he lived that dream through Jarzec. Unlike other masters, however, Rexmex did not show Jar how to unleash his anger by saber such a degree as they did, but rather, through use of the Force. For, after being around Jar for as much time as he was, he began to find he was quite capable in the Force. He began to train Jar in the ways of the destructive side of the force, one that both Jar and Rex were particuarly apt at. He did learn some techniques such as Force lightning, however, though he was far from adept with it. As well as the usual abilities, and how to focus his passion into power.
They practiced these powers of destruction for when the time came that they could use them to gain even more destructive power. It was something that seemed to resonate within Jarzec, as if it were his purpose to grow more and more powerful. There were two specific powers Jar learned under Rexmex well-known for their destructive nature: Choke and Scream. Though he learned to use lightning potently, scream was his next favorite. He became quite adept at using it, though he could only train it but so much in the heavily popuated city-planet. Though Rex was a very skilled user of the Force Choke, Jarzec could only learn to hold it for so long, and sometimes not long enough to kill (that is, towards those who could not resist). He still needed more focus. There were a few other abilities Jar learned, such as malacia and weaken, but he was only so effective with them.
In the meantime, Rex taught Jarzec in the ways of telekenesis, an ability he used in a multitude of ways, from petty theft, to various missions and odd jobs for local Crime Lords. Though they made sure that Jar kept the nature of his power in secret. Rex was quite skillful in the ways of telepathics as well, how else did he influence Jar in the younger years of his life so well? He passes on all he knew in this field, because in Nar Shaddaa, it is potentially one of the most helpful tools in a Dark Jedi's arsenal. Jarzec was also trained in the basics of the body effecting side of the force, the ways to enhance himself in potential combat that he did not have to rely strictly on his lightsaber, and how to allow the Force to flow during combat, and let his emotions take part in this as well. The second heaviest lesson Jarzec learned was that of Sense, however. With training in this field, Jar would be capable of absorbing and accepting wisdom, and understanding the world around him by feeling through it with his senses. This was no walk-in the-park master and student situation however. There were times when Jar would fail. And thus, he would receive punishment. Sometimes in the form of Force Lightning. And dispite these beatings, Jarzec grew to be a lean and fit person.
Rex taught Jarzec but one lightsaber form beyond Shii-Cho, after all, living in Nar Shaddaa and abusing the system carried its risks, especially those involving laser-fire, thus Rex taught him the one other form he knew: Shien (as well as some slight Djem So). He would be permitted to bring the training 'saber with him on select missions, making some situations that much more difficult, but it also forced him to rely the destructive side of the Force, and he began to aquire a taste for it. Well paid by different and even rival Crime Lords through their deceitful and dark ways, both Master and Student managed to remain enigmas on the planet of Nar Shaddaa, never growing too prominent, and especially never poor.
When Jarzec turned 20, he had almost become an effective Knight of the Dark Jedi, and assassin (in the balanced sense of the word), but with a lean not on the senses of the Force so much as the raw power within the Force and how it can be used as a means to an end. By now, the beatings, mixed with assassination missions, and even still the pain of both parent's deaths, had created a dark and hating man out of Jarzec. This darkness had become his upbringing. Through his teachings he learned the sort-of "code" of the Dark Jedi. Jarzec had learned that hate is much more preferred to anger. Anger makes fools out of people. He had had one too many mistakes made out of anger to forget that. Thus he grew wiser in that knowledge. He used this hate when he fought.
It was around this time that Rex decided that it was time to move on. So they secured a transport, and prepared to go to Korriban, that they may refresh themselves in its dark energies; and at this time, Jarzec was still bound to Rex to continue to serve him as student, thus he agreed with Rex to go to Korriban.
While onboard the ship, Rexmex instructed Jar on how to construct a lightsaber, using his own as a sort-of diagram. Also while onboard the ship, by some miraculous form of chance, a witness to the death of Jarzec's father stopped Jarzec and asked who it was he was with. Before Jar could inquire as to why this was asked, the man told him that he had seen a man who looked quite similar to Jarzec (which was true, Jar had uncanny resemblence to his father), killed by a man who looked just like Rex, but much younger. Understand that by now, Jar had matured much more. He had had oppertunities to meditate, as Rex had taught him, and reflect on a multitude of things. Hate and passion and the power it afforded him through the Force, and the Force itself, Jar took these thoughts in and made sense of them. He had determined just who he would be and what he would do: grow in power, grow in passion, grow in knowledge and become one with the Dark Side. Jar later asked Rex about this, before bedding for the night. Rex looked him cold in the eye and said "I did". He must have been sure of his saftey in his answer. Or just not thinking; such things happened to Rex sometimes. Either way, he did not wake up the next morning.
Rexmex Tevec left behind few things, some credits, miscellanious travel items, and his lightsaber. Jarzec decided he would take the lightsaber. It would be quite difficult to find the nessisary parts to create his own, especially the crystals. The good news was, that Rexmex wasn't about to leave Nar Shaddaa with paultry pocket change, thus he could survive, while also taking up a few odd jobs when nessisary. He spent the next two years on Korriban, hiding his presence and making a few sight-seeing trips to the tombs. He knew the reputation of Korriban, and went to extremes during these years to avoid confonting any Force sensitives or others who could identify him, Rex had, after all taught him to mask his pressence effectivly. It was through Korriban that he was pushed closer and closer to his goal of obtaining power. He had decided that would be his goal. To obtain power. Be it in the world, or in the Force, he would gain power. After all, it was power that Rex used to abuse him. And his powerlessness that prevented him from saving his mother. He had thought long and hard about this, and if there was a way to have the power to protect the things he wanted or even cared about, especially himself, he would do anything to acheive this.
Over the course of the two years he spent on Korriban, and Korriban being, well, Korriban, he grew corrupted towards this goal, almost to the point of forgetting his reasons in the first place. The Dark Side had become him, it was all he had ever known, and now had come to feed on it, to fight for it. It would be the quest for more destructive and archaic power that would define him. And so it was on this note that that he began the first steps of his journey.

Looking down hallway of the mid-sized and seemingly abandoned ship, Jarzec could not detect a single presence within. He knew however, that he was here. That scum of a Grey Jedi. He projected his senses even stronger to catch a glimpse of where he could be hiding, but found nothing. Well, he is accustomed to hiding, Jarzec thought. So Jar began to walk slowly and cautiously down the hallway. The sharp clack of his boots hitting the steel floor was all but unavoidable. His lightsaber was not yet ignited, so he bided his time, finger on the ignition... walking the hallway.
Then, he suddenly lite his saber, startling the already nervous Grey Jedi from his hiding. He lept out from in front of Jarzec, saber raised. Jar lit his saber and simultaniously thrust the Grey Jedi known as Marc Terellian away from him. Marc backflipped mid-air after being hit with the push to land on his feet, already off-balance. Jarzec knew that this Ex-Jedi was once a Guardian and not only that, but one who excelled at Makashi, thus a lightsaber encounter was not what he was looking for. Instead he picked up a nearby crate and flung it at the Jedi. Marc pushed it away.
Marc then chose to strike, making a daring force leap at Jarzec, who tried to unleash Force lightning upon the mid-air Marc, who took some of it, and used his saber to block the brunt of the blow. Jarzec quickly protected himself, blocking the heavy blow. Cyan shone upon blue, mere inches from Jar's face, as they pressed sabers upon one another. Jar had both hands on his saber, making the force a difficult endeavor. The strength of the Jedi warrior pushed Jarzec back and his feet began to slide along the floor, preparing to give-way.
Jarzec quickly ducked and rolled away from the strike, and sheathed his lightsaber. He then drove deep into his well of hatred and unleashed a heavy dose of Force Lightning. Though Jarzec's lightning was strong, it was definitly not lethal. Marc fell to the ground, panting and sweating, smoke floating off of his singed form. Marc wouldn't be beaten so easily though, he quickly regained his composure and stood up. Jarzec snapped his lightsaber back on and ran at Marc, saber raised, and Marc in turn ran at him. Just before they made contact, Jar stopped and thrust Marc backwards yet again, catching him completely off-guard. As Marc landed at the end of the hallway, Jarzec walked slowly up to him, knocking him down with the Force each time he tried to get up. Marc was too worn down now.
The Jedi made one more attempt to attack Jarzec as he approached, leaping up and bearing down on him with his saber, catching Jar's non-lightsaber arm and giving him a cut from shoulder to wrist. The pain bit at Jarzec, but he was accustomed to it, and being that the attack had been such a heavy one, Marc was left off-balanced for a brief moment. Both knew what would happen next.
In a quick move, Jarzec cut off both Marc's hands. Marc fell to his knees, and just as he did so, Jarzec decapitated him.
"Phew," Jarzec remarked, "It's been a while since I've killed. It's a little refreshing, the surge of hate, and the sensation of power."
He left the ship just as he'd found it, empty and without a single, detectable presence...
