Reason for Request: I want to be able to flush out my characters in more detail and learn what I should include in bios, etc.
Notes: Before I post up my 'current bio' I want to know if anyone will take me on, since technically this isn't really a roleplay.

Quick thing, um, if you're only looking for a bio review, then shouldn't you just put it in the appropriate section and wait for someone to review it normally? Most people will tell you if something's missing, what you need to include, etc. etc. =3

Now lessee, if you'd still like to do this here though, I'd be willing to help you out to the best of my ability. WHICH MEANS I MIGHT BE A LITTLE DEMANDING AND/OR NITPICKY.

Well, i'm not just looking for a Bio review, but I also want to be able to make a really good bio. Like a Jennos, PSF, Kella, Talau, Mara, etc good bio. (just some examples of people whose bios I like o:)

So you could say i'm looking for the tools to make a bio that doesn't need to be greatly reviewed?

xD Okay then. I'm not particularly a good bio writer in any sense of the word, but lemme see here... For the record, dun take any of this personally. xD

BEFORE WE GET TO THE TOOLS WE NEEEEEEED.....

SCHEMATICS- Character idea. The best of these tend to be reflected on and polished mentally for a few days. Ask yourself, "Where does this character fit/Who would he RP with?" "Does he have any done-to-death/cliche* aspects of his personality/character?" "Are there forty other characters on the forum right now that act the same way in most instances?"

The blueprints are key.

*Characters with personalities, roles, and such that have been done to death in other books and such can be redeemed! You just have to find a way to make them stand out. I can't help you with this (directly), unfortunately, it's something writers have to go through by themselves. I do believe in encouragement to find that unique aspect though, so I can always help with that. =3

HERE COMES THE MANLY POWER TOOLS.

Tool one- LOGIC. WOULD/COULD/SHOULD EVENT X HAPPEN AND UNDER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES? I deem this the most important tool at a bio writer's disposal. You can push the envelope only so far as the reader's imagination goes, 'Well that might be possible.' As soon as you hit the point when readers start to go, 'Lawlwtf?' they generally lose interest, and the bio becomes boring. Then the reader/reviewer starts to look for more flaws in the story that they might've passed over previously. Probably for kicks and giggles.

Tool two- FLUFF. YOU NEED TO USE SCHMANCY WORDS IN AN OVERLY COMPLICATED WAY TO EXPLAIN THAT YOUR CHARACTER WAS ANGRY BECAUSE A BEE LANDED ON HIS OR HER HEAD. LIKEN THE RIGHTEOUS FURY TO A CELESTIAL BODY AND YOU'RE ALL SET. (y) Okay, so maybe that's a little drastic. HOWEVER, making your sentence and vocabulary structure more varied cannot hurt the bio at all. Adventurously sprinkling a few analogies, metaphors, and similes so as to give clues to a character's personality will not hurt the essence of the bio. Just be sure you know the definition of the word you're using, and/or that the metaphor/simile/w/e makes sense. xD

Tool three- CHRONOLOGICAL TIMELINE. ARE THERE ANY GAPS OR IMPORTANT EVENTS AT IMPORTANT TIMES OF DEVELOPMENT? Making one of these allows you to quick check over your character's life for blank areas, and therein fill those so you're not getting a vague, 'Needs more' request.

TOOL BELT OF POWER- IT HOLDS UP THE REST OF YOUR TOOLS, AND YOUR PANTS. AT THE SAME TIME. (You won't be embarrassed later. xD) It consists of correct usage of the English language. Some are pickier about this then others, but regardless, it makes those reviewing happy that you're not dumping un-proofread crap on their heads.

So that's just a quick overview. I'm not sure if that's what you were asking for, but mreh. xD

If you want a character that doesn't need to be reviewed much, the most important things to you are... A. The blueprints, B. LOGIC., and C. TOOL BELT OF POWER.

The writing in the bio can be completely bland and flavorless (more effort then to just write the bio with a bit of color/flair...), but as long as there's logic and a solid character idea behind it all, it'll be fine. (The mod/reviewer of the bio will probably just avoid your writing like the plague in the future. =3)

Maybe now you have a better idea of what to ask for now? I sorta ran off on a tangent. ^///^

Lol Twys. That is quite heartening to know. Tell ya what, once I get the character I want done, i'll pm it to you and we can go over it with a fine tooth needle and see if I used all your 'tools'
