Sunrise is a beautiful thing, but sometimes it could be your worst nightmare. Lucent found himself laying in the desert in Tatooine next to a luxury cruiser. The hijacking didn't go according to plan thanks to Lucent and his skills along with his quick thinking. He rose to his feet grabbing his M4 carbine, a weapon he made himself. Lucent had a knack for modifying and making weaponry after all he was in the republic military. He glanced around to see if anyone else had gotten knocked out of the ship during the crash, not a person in sight. He decided he'd head inside to see if there were any survivors. Pushing at a large piece of metal to the side, it was loose enough to budge and fall over on its side.
He stepped inside aiming his weapon and swaying it right to left searching for a target. Then something caught his eye, there was a slight movement under some metal panels. Lucent took aim and focused on the small metal panels before speaking. "Who ever is under there come out now!" he said in a firm, but deep voice. From underneath the panels a little girl crawled out. Lucent noticed the little girls leg was broken and a small shard of metal was lodged halfway into her leg bone. He quickly lowered his weapon and rushed to her aid trying to help her up.
The little girl began to cry from the pain. "Keep your leg bent or else your going to lose your leg." The little girl nodded and accepted Lucent's help. He found a corner with a chair, placing the little girl on the chair moving her leg toward her thigh. "Now I need you to stay here and keep your leg like this. I'll be back for you soon," he said placing his hand on her should before walking away.
Lucent continued on to find anyone else who might still be alive and if they were maybe one of them was a doctor. He turned on into a corridor where a lady lay on her back, the women glanced over at Lucent.
"Help me..." she whispered. "My daughter is around here somewhere can you please find her," Lucent knelt beside her and grabbed her hand.
"Maam your daughter is fine." The women smiled knowing that her daughter was ok. It was too late to say the same for the women she was dying and nobody could save her. She had a long rod piercing through her chest and she had already lost a lot of blood.
"Mat..Matilda..." her dying last words. Lucent was a little disheartened knowing that the child he had just met might now be a orphan. But why should he care he was a soldier, trained to kill, but still it was cruel to take a young girls mother away. He knew the same feeling of losing a parent.
Lucent lowered his head for a moment, he wished he could have stopped the terrorist. From outside he heard screams and grunting noises. 'Damn the sand people are here to salvage the wreck.' he thought to himself.
Lucent ran over to where the little girl was and grabbed her. "Time to go." He picked her up and began to run out of the ship and into the hot desert. Not looking back he continued running, eventually the little girl slowing him down. he continued to run for as long as he could until he dropped down into the sand.
"I'm scared," said the little girl.
"It's ok I wont let anything happen to you. Someone will find us...I promise."
*Present day*
Those where the last words echoing in the back of his mind as he awoke to find little Matilda standing over him. "What are you doing Matilda?"
"Nothing, just watching you sleep," she said with a deviant smile. "Can I sleep in here with you?"
"Are you scared?" he asked. She nodded and snuggled next to him.
"I saw a bantha under my bed."
"There are no bantha's under your bed." she gave him the face, that puppy dog face. how can anyone resist saying no to such a cute little girl. "Alright you can sleep in here tonight." she smiled again and pulled the blankets over her small body.
"Good night Lucent."
"Goodnight Matilda."
A few hours later Lucent slowly snuck away from Matilda, walking into the living quarters. He heard a small beep in his communication unit. Lucent answered and it was the Lieutenant Parker on the screen.
"Good evening Sergeant sorry to wake you so late but we have a situation we need you to look into. We have a problem with some Sith followers in the lower cities. Now we have no Intel on who there leader is. We scouts have reported there might be a pick up tonight We need you to haul you behind over to headquarters and gear up. we need to intercept these bastards fast. We've sent over someone to watch over Matilda, don't worry about her. Get your butt over here asap. Charlie out!" The comm was terminated.
Lucent quickly put on his uniform and headed for command. Once he reached there he'd get another debrief by another officer and Lucent hated that more then anything. Lucent was in the mist of getting geared up when Captain Altie'rd came over to him. "Ready boy?" Lucent finished by putting on his helmet and walking over to the Transport.
"Alright gentlemen we are dealing with Sith followers here. these guys are going to be hostile we need to take these guys out before something serious happens. You guys will have complete permission to engage anything or anybody that stops you boys from completing your mission. Alright Ladies lock and load." said on of the officers before exiting the transport.
