The second one had a great plotline. Story was killer.
The game was absolutely terrible. The first one I thought was short, then came the second one, which was even shorter. I was highly disappointed. Thoughts?

I force myself to put up with the gameplay (Which I don't mind THAT much since I used to play Dynasty Warriors...), but the rest of it, I really do enjoy.
I like that the goal of the Force Unleashed project was to really display the true power of someone using the Force. Starkiller might be exceptional in that he is just very naturally powerful, but to see the Force in action like that is wicked.
Adding a little flavour to right before the 4th movie was interesting as well, such as how the Rebellion started. The only reason I keep coming back to the series is for the story.
Finally, I enjoyed that the story separates itself from the usual good vs. evil dynamic, in the form of Jedi vs. Sith. The main character isn't really on a "side" per say; I like that a large part of his motivation is love.
But the second one was way too short. About half way through the Darth Vader fight, I thought to myself, "Wait... This can't be almost the end of the game. This is just a boss fight, right?" And then it was over. I chose the light-side ending, Youtube'd the dark-side one. And now, I wait for the next one to come along.

The first one was awesome, one of the better SW games I've played, other than the good old classics.
The second one greatly dissapointed me because it was WAY too short, and while I liked the addition of the new force overload-psycho mode thing, it just got a little ridiculous.
I mean, the feel in the first one was of this apprentice with something to prove, who gets pulled along while continuously learning this and that about the force, life, and eventually he even falls in love and does what is right for the galaxy(Going by the canonical ending).
The second one just feels tacked on to make more money and to throw you through loops with the "OMG LOOK AT WHAT I CAN DO WITH MY MIND" factor.
The first one was a struggle for Starkiller, through the whole thing and it really made you feel like you were struggling with him, earning experience to level up and gaining powers, then making all these decisions in-game to whether you do light or dark-side things. Then the second one comes along and now you're some half-assed clone from Vader's failed project and you're getting pulled around through the story. It doesn't feel like you have as much of a choice as before, I guess. That, and the ridiculous super-saiyan Dark-jedi force mode just made it feel less... Interesting.

I dont like eather really but if i had to choose it would be the first.
the reason i dont like the Force Unleashed games is it changes the story, its no longer Star Wars to me.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first one. I thought it had a great story, which most people overlook nowadays. The collecting holocrons was great, the enemies were tough even for your super force powers, and the Black crystal and Jedi Adventurer Robes were boss.
The second on the other hand...
The second was too easy. Dual wielding sabers and having super force powers, you cut through every very easily, even on Unleashed difficulty (Atleast I did). I played through the game in 4 hours when I got it for Christmas, and there was barely a story to it I felt. The only thing that stopped me from beating it on Unleashed was a stupid door you had to open with the Force on Kamino.
In my opinion, go for the First.

Hmm, I tend to agree with the general consensus. So I would choose the first one over the second one, even though I appreciate both games in different ways.
Storywise the first one is boss, while the second one seems like just a failed try at continuing the game franchise.
Gameplaywise, I liked the first one. The second one though I felt was smoother and easier, but way more unbalanced than the first game. Don't get me wrong, I liked seeing dual wielding again but it was way to easy.
So yes, the first one wins in my opinion aswell. Anyways, does anyone know if there is a third game planned? I couldn't find anything about it on the net, but perhaps someone else has got different sources.

The first was absolutely phenomenal; I've never had so much fun punting Jawas, chopping up Walkers and Rancors, and kicking the crap out of Darth Vader and even the Emperor,
The second game I expected to be more or less the same; great original story with excellent gameplay and infinite replay value.
What I got was cheap DLC thrown together with seemingly the smallest amount of care. It practically made me cry.
EDIT: It's bluntly obvious to me that the first one had the consent of George Lucas and the second did not.
