Name: Salporino “Sally”
Race: Wookiee
Birth place: Mygeeto, Jygat General Hospital
Age: 17
Height: 6' 7”
Weight: 171 .lbs
(Whom he's based off of - 'Gungi')
Appearance: Salporino is an unusual sight in the galaxy. He is a young wookiee. At his young age, Salporion already towers over most people at almost seven feet tall. All that height is taken up by varying shades of brown fur, most notably a very light tan color. Even Salporino's eyes are a hazel color.
Since he is a wookiee, Salporino doesn't have quite the need for clothing that most others do. Despite this, he still wears traditional Jedi robes, taken from the Jedi Temple when he left, for formal occasions.
When not in a formal setting, Salporino has what could be considered a loincloth. It starts with a wine red colored sash around his waist, and extends to his knees in a brown-coffee color. There is a strap around one of his shoulders of the same brown material that helps hold the whole ensemble up. Salporino has a few pouches for small items around his red sash, and his lightsaber hangs from there.
There is a small device that hangs from Salporino's belt. It has a vocal box and a pair of eyes. This device is similar to a droid head, but is much smaller in comparison. It has the power to translate what Salporino is saying into Basic. While no other languages are currently known by it, Salporino could program more in if he so desired.
Personality: Salporino may seem intimidating at first, due to his size and muscle. In a way, all wookiees can be seen as such. But Salporino is anything but. The term 'gentle giant' aptly describes the large padawan. He is a very caring person, and very kind, unconditional on who it is.
A desire to help people is sometimes what drives Salporino. However, that want to help people can also turn him violent if the need arises. But he'd rather avoid such confrontations. As long as he think's he's doing the right thing, Salporino will have a clear conscience and will never think twice about his actions.
Many people have said that Salporino's kindness and want to help, despite who it is, is a trait the galaxy needs. Other people, most notably those who are working on the fringes of Space, say that it's a naive take. Salporino doesn't much care what people think of him as long as he thinks he's doing the right thing.
It's safe to say that Salporino has been 'starstruck' since first casting his eyes to the sky one clear night. Amateur Astronomy is now an avid hobby of his, and he knows quite a bit about the subject. This is the main reason that his former master taught Salporino basic piloting skills.
Salporino is a bright individual, breaking the stereotypical view of Wookiees being all muscle and no brains. As previously stated, he knows quite a bit about Anatomy and Astronomy. But he knowledge doesn't end there. Salporino loves to learn, and usually his spare time is spent in the Archives.
The Wookiee can remember random facts at almost any time. Whether it's important dates or how a star works. This usually only emphasizes how smart Salporino is. This also allows him to correct people when they're wrong, something that Salporino does subconsciously, without realizing it until it's happened.
Salporino in very open minded. He's not afraid to share ideas, thoughts, or opinions. And if he wants something, he goes and tries to get it. Though, if he can see it's a lost cause, Salporino will quickly back off.
Even though Salporino is very smart for someone his age, he is unwise of the ways of the galaxy. Salporino grew up as a somewhat sheltered padawan. This was not intentional, but it still happened. Smugglers and Bounty Hunters are just stories to him, and he has only ever squared off against a dark Jedi once, with his former master.
To be fair, to say that Salporino was sheltered does not mean that he lacks social skills. He is just unaware of how the galaxy works. When someone says 'the scum of the galaxy', he is unaware of what they are talking about. Or when someone uses a derogatory term he is unaware of what it means, and etc.
Salporino may be open minded when it comes to ideas, but he keeps his feelings buried. He doesn't like sharing them with anyone, doesn't matter who they are. Salporino can hold onto feelings for a long time, and then they evolve, such and anger into bitterness. He doesn't have anyone to confide in recently, which had developed this quirk of his.

Discovery: Ages 0 – 3
Jiryyhn and Gevnik were two traveling Wookiee merchants who had left Kashyyyk together at a young age. They had combined their saving to buy a ship and cargo, and starting to sell and trade across the galaxy. While it was mostly peaceful work, they had their hard times and good times, and their finances were always on a roller coaster ride.
It wasn't long after they left Kashyyyk that Jiryyhn became pregnant. It was a long and difficult time, due to their constant moving and now new stress added to the family. They settled on Mygeeto for a small time when Jiryyhn was about to give birth. Since they had no real medical evaluation during the pregnancy, it was only when the female wookiee delivered that they learned it was twins.
Two twins were born to the young Wookiee merchants. One, a boy named Salporin. The other was a girl named Froika. Salporin had almost blonde fur which was promised to get darker with age, when Froika had a chestnut-color.
Since they were born in a hospital on Mygeeto, which wasn't a Republic planet, none of the mandatory blood work for Force Sensitivity was done. Instead, the new family went on their way, not knowing that their son could become a Jedi.
For awhile, things were just fine with the new family. Most of the business was left to Gevnik though, as Jiryyhn was busy taking care of the newborn babies. They had just enough room on their ship, a Model 421 Blockade Runner, for four people to live comfortably. Though, the newborns did add quite a bit of stress. Now there was double the mouths to feed and backs to clothe.
Salporin was a curious baby though. Unlike most, including his sister, he didn't cry. When something upset him, Salporin simply stared it down. Some could say this was studying, or some intimidation. Instead, Salporin simply wanted to figure out what it was that was bothering him.
In a few years, the family had traveled across the galaxy and back again. It was when they landed on Obrda-Skai that everything changed. Salporin grew sick, and Jiryyhn took him to see a doctor while Gevnik took Froika and did business with the local merchants.
It was on Obrda-Skai that Salporin had his first blood work done. The family was told that Salporin had a high enough midi-chlorian count to be accepted into the Jedi. The family took him home from the hospital that night though, and Jiryyhn and Gevnik debated what to do.
It was a hard choice, one that kept the couple up all night as Salporin slept soundly. But they eventually decided that the Jedi could give Salporin a more stable life then they could. Not knowing what to do, the couple took their boy back to the hospital, who notified the Jedi.
A male Kel-Dor named Ostar came to collect Salporin. However, due to a twi'lek nurse who had a lot of trouble understanding the Wookiees, the boy's name was messed up from the moment he left the care of his parents. Instead of Salporin, it was now Salporino.
Youngling on Rhen Var: Ages 3 – 12
The boy was too young to notice to change in his name though. Since Obrda-Skai was closer to Rhen Var than it was to the Core, that was where Ostar took the young wookiee to grow and learn. He didn't shed any tears as he watched his parents walk away, instead he just stared them down and wondered why they weren't following.
Unlike most younglings that came to Rhen Var, Salporino was more adjusted to the cold because of his time in Space and his fur coat. He was a happy boy for the most part, it was as if no one could tell that he had his parents taken away from him. Like he had come to the Order the soonest he was born.
At the age of five is when Salporino's smarts really started to show. It was at that age that the younglings started to take their first basic classes. Salporino was one of the few students who aced almost every exam and course. It was known from a young age that while he could be an excellent duelist due to the fact he was a Wookiee, his destiny most likely was with the Jedi Consulars.
Salporino didn't make many friends with other younglings, mainly because there weren't many younglings on Rhen Var. He was friendly with everyone he met. One youngling that he grew close to as a friend though was named Mirsa Till, a female Mirialan.
Salporino and Mirsa were an odd pairing. Mirsa was a small child, while Salporino was rather large. Her strengths laid in saber combat, while his was in pursuits of the mind. She was bossy, he was friendly. But despite all this the two of them became almost inseparable, like brother and sister.
Through Mirsa, Salporino was able to hone his lightsaber skills. Through him, she learned Shyriiwook. His name was hard for Mirsa to pick up on though, so she took to calling him 'Sally' for short. The nickname stuck, and soon just about every Jedi on Rhen Var was calling Salporino by it.
It was when Salporino was seven, almost eight, that he met his future master for the first time. Adria Duann was an Arkanian Offshoot Knight, and one of the resident healers at the Enclave on Rhen Var. After taking quite the beating from Mirsa during some lightsaber training, Salporino was sent to the medical wing to get bandaged up.
The whole time Adria was helping the Wookiee out, he piled her questions that the translator droid couldn't repeat fast enough. 'What are you doing? Why are you using that? Why is the kolto that color?' and on and on. She thought that his want for knowledge was great, and Adria happily answered all the questions she could.
When another Jedi came in that needed Adria's attention more than Salporino did, he took a long look around the medical wing. There was a stethoscope near were Salporino was sitting. The Wookiee had no idea was the instrument was, so he took it when Adria wasn't looking. Once she came back, she sent Salporino on his way.
Over the next few days, Salporino figured out how it use the stethoscope and what it was used for. He tried it on everything from his friend Mirsa (which she became rather annoyed with) to a book and walls. Salporino returned the instrument later that week to Adria, saying that he simply wanted to figure out what it did.
At first, Adria was shocked and a little annoyed that Salporino had taken the stethoscope. She asked him if he found it's purpose, and the wookiee started to rattle off all about how he used it and what he did with it, leaving out no detail. Adria changed to somewhat impressed by the boy's endeavors. Instead of punishing him, Adria instead tasked Salporino with some simple research.
Salporino happily dug into the Rhen Var archives. It could be said that his love for learning was born here. He was happy to be out of trouble, and happy to be helping a Knight (Or so he thought he was helping). Then it evolved from there.
Once the first task was done, Salporino came back for more. And then again came back to Adria for more. She started to run out of stuff to have him look up, and had thought about making stuff up for Salporino. The wookiee spent quite a bit of time trying to hang around the Offshoot Knight when she wasn't busy.
It was one night when coming back from the medical wing that Salporino decided to take a shortcut through a courtyard that he found his love for astronomy. While in the small yard of the Enclave, Salporino just decided to look up real quick. Since there was very little artificial light on Rhen Var, the stars shone brilliantly above, lighting up the sky. Salporino was 'starstruck' from there on.
The next day, he wasted no time in using what little free time he had in the Archives, reading about stars and Space. Adria came looking for the Wookiee, surprised that he hadn't come to see her that day. Salporino quickly explained (as he was beneath a pile of books and datapads) that he was finding out as much as he possibly could about stars, constellations, and Space.
Adria wasn't sure what compelled her, but she sat down and started to help Salporino. She reasoned when she was helping him that it may keep him out of her hair for awhile. With a Knight, Salporino was allowed to stay in the Archives for longer than other younglings or padawans until the Librarian (an elderly human woman), finally kicked them both out.
Salporino spent the last of his time as a youngling studying stars. Adria would occasionally help him out, and the Wookiee had shown Mirsa them late one night when the pair of them sunk out of bed. The Mirialan agreed that they were beautiful, but that was all she could say before they were caught.
At the age of ten, the younglings on Rhen Var were told what it was to be a padawan. They were also told that they were liable to be chosen at any time now. And if they weren't, they would be sent off to Corps.
As usual fear, panic, and stress set in with the group of younglings. Except for when it came to Salporino. He tohught that Adria was likely to choose him any moment now. But Mirsa was distraught, so she became the recipient of several wookiee sized hugs over the next few weeks.
It wasn't long before Salporino approached Adria on the topic of padawan-ship. Adria had never had a padawan before, and she was a little surprised by Salporino bringing up the topic. The Offshoot kindly told him that she wasn't ready for a padawan yet. The Wookiee took this in great stride to her surprise. He had two more years to be considered for a padawan after all.
A year came and went with no significant changes. The Rhen Var enclave operated as usual everyday, with older padawans worrying about when they'd be picked. Since Salporino bringing up the topic of being a padawan to Adria, The Offshoot had been trying to avoid him, but there wasn't much of anywhere else for her to go on Rhen Var.
At the age of eleven, Mirsa was chosen by a Twi'lek Jedi who was a Peacekeeper. She was going to leave Rhen Var for Coruscant, but promised Salporino she would try to see him or at least talk to him via the holonet. Salporino was happy for her, and knew they'd see each other again someday.
But as his best friend left him on Rhen Var, anxiety finally started to settle in with Salporino. Would Adria ever change her mind? If not, would someone else choose him? To help keep himself distracted, Salporino turned to the Archives even more. He studied anything and everything the Librarian would let him.
Salporino's twelfth birthday came and went with a few people wishing him well. But Adria's mind hadn't changed. The Wookiee left that up to her now, and he quit trying. He found Rhen Var rather lonely now that Mirsa was gone. While there was plenty of other younglings, none of them were his best friend.
It came the time were Salporino as given the sad news that if he wasn't chosen soon, he would be sent off to the Corps. Due to the nature of Salporino's talents, he would be part of the Education Corps. So early one sunny morning (or what could be considered sunny on Rhen Var) Salporino packed his bags and said his goodbyes. He left Adria for last, who still hadn't made up her mind. But he wasn't looking to change it anymore.
Adria felt sorry for the Wookiee, that he was going to leave for the Corps. Between that and some prodding from some of the other Knights on Rhen Var, Adria went out to meet Salporino on the landing pad his shuttle was suppose to be on. At the last possible moment, she took on Salporino as her first padawan.
Padawan: Ages 12 – 15
As a new Master-Padawan pair, Adria started to teach Salporino basic medical skills and Force Healing techniques. It was one of the few things she was excellent at, so she figured it was a start.
The pairing was new to both of them, Adria was a young Knight, so she wasn't sure how to teach a Wookiee. But the pair tried to take everything in stride. Their relationship was something like a little brother learning from a big sister. Adria was in charge, and she was the one teaching. But Salporino still had some say in what they did.
Adria picked up Shyriiwook rather quick. This completely eliminated the need for a droid to follow Salporino around, which was extra space they could use in the medical wing.
Instead of going out on missions, the pair started to treat wounds Jedi may receive. At first it was simple things, such a frost bite which was common on Rhen Var. But over time the occasional blaster burn came back from a mission, or something similar.
Salporino worked fine in the medical wing next to Adria. But the other Jedi were a bit wary about having a Wookiee work on them at first. They couldn't understand what Salporino was trying to tell them. To try and fix this problem, Adria created a small device, shaped like a droid's head, that could hang from Salporino's belt. It translated whatever he was trying to say into Shyriiwook.
The new device bothered Salporino a little at first, but he grew accustomed to it. It came in useful Salporino noticed. He first saw this when younglings came in with bumps and scrapes, and they were afraid of the “giant furry guy” trying to help them.
Adria and Salporino had very little in the way of missions. Most of the time when they left the enclave on Rhen Var, it was to rescue a Jedi or two who had been stranded in the ice-land wastes of the world, and needed medical assistance.
The first time this happened, Salporino watched Adria pack their speeder so full of extra supplies that he thought they were going to stay out in the tundra for a month or more. But in all reality, it was more simple than that. Adria got cold very easy, so she made sure they had extra blankets and heaters and rations, just in-case anything happened.
Then there was another time when there was a pair of Jedi that were exploring a system of caves quite the way from the Enclave. There had been a cave in, and one of the Knights had gotten trapped on the wrong side of things.
By the time they got out there, it was already dark. Adria was able to move the rocks enough to get to the other Knight, while Salporino treated the first for any frost bite he might've had. The Knight that had been trapped though had a broken leg, and this was the time when Salporino learned how to set a broken limb. Though after Adria was done teaching, she mended the Jedi with the Force.
Events like these started to happen all the time. Salporino thought that the Jedi Knights exploring on Rhen Var were not the brightest in the galaxy, as there was too much danger out there. And they usually found a way into it.
Salporino quickly started to get smart with these wounded Knights, his corrective-ness coming out. Adria taught the Wookiee how to talk to a patient properly. Basically, if you didn't have anything nice to say you didn't say anything at all. This led to Salporino being quiet quite a bit.
Along with teaching Salporino all she knew about medicine, Adria taught him Niman as well. It was the only form besides Shii-Cho that she had mastered well enough to teach someone else. Like practicing with Mirsa, it took awhile for him to catch on but the Wookiee finally started to pick things up. Salporino quickly learned that the benefit of having a Healer has a teacher was that you could stop, heal all your bump and burns, and then keep going.
It was at thirteen that Salporino got to see his first surgery. Adria wouldn't let him participate in it, she thought it was too delicate of work for him right now. Instead, Salporino watched from an observation room in earnest.
A blue twi'lek had developed a heart condition where the organ would beat irregular if he got too worked up. Adria was the surgeon for the event as Salporino watched from an observation room and took notes. Unlike how most padawans would probably treat surgery at his age, begin forced to look away for fear of being sick themselves, Salporino kept his eyes on the event the whole time. His desire to learn overcame his own fear.
There was one time when Adria and Salporino went out to to rescue a stranded Jedi that had fallen in a small canyon. Not only did the Bothan Jedi Knight have a broken arm from the fall, he was suffering from frostbite now and was cut in many places. They healed the broken bone and the frostbite, and Adria showed Salporino how to apply stitches to cuts.
Salporino was wondering why Adria was teaching him so much conventional medicine, when Jedi could simply heal people with the Force. Adria explained that there may be times where you couldn't call on the Force, or didn't want to because you wanted to keep that you were a Jedi a secret. She also explained that based on your ability, the Force couldn't heal everything. So Salporino took to studying medicine as well.
At fourteen, Adria had thought that Salporino advanced enough in Niman and Shii-Cho to let the Wookiee build his own lightsaber. She started the Wookiee on the right path, giving him a piece of wroshyr wood from the trees on Kashyyyk to work into his lightsaber.
Salporino was younger than many padawans on Rhen Var when he built his lightsaber. Some thought that maybe he should've waited a year or so, but he never heard these rumors. It took almost a month and a half for the young Jedi to building a working hilt. Salporino worked with a visiting Jedi Artisan, a human going by the name of Gilian, to help him work the wood into the hilt and had a chain on the end of the hilt.
But once Salporino had finished, the hilt looked like a masterpiece. Or so Adria said. She took him to Ilum, yet another frigid world, to find his crystal. Unlike most padawans who spent hours wondering the crystal caves, Salporino was drawn to one formation from the get-go. Salporino came out of the cave an hour to so later carrying a bright green crystal.
Adria was shocked with the speed at which Salporino picked a crystal. She wanted to send him back into the caves for awhile, so he could meditate and be sure. But Salporino was adamant that this was the crystal.
After another month of meditating on the crystal, Salporino had finally finished his lightsaber. After he was done, Adria and Salporino had their first off-world mission together. The pair was sent to Kashyyyk, along with several other teams of Jedi Healers.
A few settlements across the world had been plagued with a virus similar to the common cold, but much more potent. It made most Wookiees it came into contact with very weak. Kashyyyk had requested help from the Jedi Order in finding a cure.
The Jedi Healers were split up around the world of Kashyyyk, studying different areas and seeing what they could find. Since Salporino could be affected by the virus as well, Adria made sure they were sent to a part of the world not yet affected by it. So they went to the coastal city of Kachirho.
They spent months there studying and reviewing reports that the other teams of Healers sent. Adria and Salporino used that information to try and work on a cure. It was then that the Wookiee finally understood how diseases and cures worked.
Besides that, Salporino was able to explore his culture a bit more. He learned some survival skills, and was eventually able to go spend a few days on the forest floor. And then he took up astronomy again after noticing the stars were very different on Kashyyyk then they were on Rhen Var.
After a few months, around Salporino's fifteenth birthday, things finally started to get interesting around Kashyyyk when it came to the mission. The other Jedi had found evidence that the plague was being engineered, and Adria was able to confirm this. They got a tip that Kachirho would be the next to get hit, so they remained on guard.
That was when a stranger showed up in Kachirho. A Kel Dor under the guise of a traveling merchant came to the village. Adria watched him from afar, while Salporino got in close. The Wookiee went to check out the Kel Dor's wares. The Kel Dor was strong in the Force, at least that's what Salporino was able to sense. Salporino and the Kel Dor were polite to each other, and the Wookiee walked away with some star charts after the Kel Dor learned he loved astronomy.
Salporino told Adria what he had sensed, and they confronted the Kel Dor in the building that he was renting as he was trying to pack up and leave. Without saying a word, The Kel Dor dropped what he was doing and activated a red lightsaber.
The Kel Dor was an average duelist and Force-user. Salporino later judged that his true strength was in the mind. Between both Adria and Salporino, the dark Jedi didn't stand much of a chance. Adria severed his saber arm, and then the Kel Dor was done. Adria took care of securing the dark Jedi while Salporino searched the building.
Salporino of course found all sorts of things that the Kel Dor was selling, along with canisters full of the virus he had been using. The Wookiee took these to Adria, and the pair of them were able to develop a cure from them.
They stayed on Kashyyyk for a while longer, administering the cure and making sure the dark Jedi was prosecuted. As Adria and Salporino were about to leave, Iridonians started to land all over Kashyyyk. They were slavers.
Salporino wanted to stay help the Wookiees resist the slavers. It wasn't right for them to just start being taken like that. Adria agreed, but told him that they had to leave immediately. She practically had to drag Salporino onto the shuttle, no small feat for an Offshoot, and then leave.
The War, Moving to The Core: Ages 15 - 17
To help take Salporino's mind off of Kashyyyk, Adria taught him some basic piloting on the way back to Rhen Var. This continued once they got to the planet, until Adria was sure that the Wookiee could handle a ship on his own if the need came.
When they got back to Rhen Var, they learned that war had finally started between The Republic and the Sith. It wasn't long before Rhen Var was said to be targeted. Adria had Salporino pack everything he cared about up, and then left the planet for Mustafar. Adria wanted to get Salporino as far from the war as possible.
On the way to Mustafar, Adria and Salporino stopped at Coruscant. The Wookiee had never seen the Core before, so the first time he landed on Coruscant his jaw dropped. To go from a frozen wasteland to a planet-wide metropolis was a huge change for him. And the size of the Jedi Temple astounded him. They spent a few days there just so that Salporino could check it out.
But eventually they continued on their way to Mustafar. Even though the Jedi Temple was still under construction on the jungle world, they were still allowed to stay there for the time being. Salporino and Adria were two of the first permanent healers on the world for the Jedi.
Salporino and Adria set themselves up in the finished medical wing of the Temple, and started to take care of all sorts of injuries. Whether Jedi were hurt in the jungle or someone had a construction accident, they were on top of things for the most part.
It was then that Mirsa had shown up on Mustafar, with her master, a Twi'lek named Jov'vum. They had been some of the first Jedi to join The Blades, the Jedi war effort. Mirsa and Jov'vum fought on Rhen Var before it fell to the Sith, but the Mirialan had been hurt.
Mirsa had lost both of her legs fighting the Sith, and now had cybernetic replacements. Jov'vum at that point had decided to take Mirsa as far from the war as possible, just like Adria had done with Salporino.
The two padawans were overjoyed to see each other again. Salporino helped Mirsa get used to walking on the new cybernetic limbs and any complications they caused. The Mirialan had a rough time of it, but Salporino refused to let her give up.
Mirsa came to rely on Salporino for awhile. There was one time when she asked the Wookiee if she was still beautiful with the cybernetics. He replied that Jedi shouldn't worry about such things. But Salporino eventually gave in and said that she was. He wanted to do anything to help her, even if that included repairing her self esteem.
Adria talked with Salporino late one night about the amount of time he was spending with Mirsa, and how relationships were no allowed by the Jedi Order. Salporino almost laughed her down. He said that Mirsa was simply a friend that he was trying to help, nothing more.
But in fact, Salporino was oblivious to the feelings that Mirsa had started to develop for him. She had come to rely on him, and he had built her self esteem back up. She tried to drop hints about how she felt, but they went over Salporino's head.
Jov'vum had also noticed the two padawans spending a mass amount of time together. But instead of just talking to Mirsa about it, he was getting ready to take her to Mustafar instead. Mirsa shared the news with Salporino, who was not sad to her surprise. He knew that they'd see each other again.
In an act of bravery, Mirsa kissed Salporino. The Wookiee was shocked and confused by the gesture, and didn't know what to do. Once Mirsa had left the planet, Salporino told Adria what had happened, apologized, and told his master that was not his desired outcome. At this point, Adria almost laughed him down.
Soon, things were back to normal around Mustafar. Salporino and Adria started to train in the forest as well now though, since more Healers started to arrive on the planet. Salporino enjoyed being outdoors when he could, and sometimes Adria would use what she knew of astronomy late at night to teach Salporino. But it wasn't long before he started to surpass her in that field.
Things were fine for a year, until Adria started to act strangely. Salporino first noticed it when she missed breakfast for almost a week straight, something they always had together. Then she seemed distracted during to day to him. Late one night, Salporino went to her room to confront her about it and make sure she was okay.
Adria crumbled the soonest Salporino asked, and she told him everything. Adria had started become involved with another Jedi Knight, a human man by the name of Reese. The two had been seeing each other off and on for about a year now, after Adria had treated him for a bite wound he got in Mustafar's forest. It was just this past month though that things started to become serious. Adria had just found out that morning that she was pregnant.
A crying Adria hugged a shocked Salporino as tight as possible. The Wookiee did what he could to comfort her, but that wasn't much at the moment. Adria revealed that she and Reese were going to leave the Jedi Order together, and then she started to go on about how she was a horrible Jedi and teacher to Salporino.
The Wookiee tried to tell her that wasn't true, but he supported her decision to leave with Reese. It wasn't long before Adria and Salporino packed up once again to go to Coruscant, so Adria could go before the Council.
Salporino had perhaps never been angry with anyone in his life before the Iridonians that landed on Kashyyyk, but this Knight Reese was on the list as well. He had taken his master, Adria away from him. Salporino never met the man, which he told himself was a good thing.
After a tearful good bye from Adria, Salporino was all on his own in the Jedi Order. Adria had promised to keep in touch, but there wasn't anything she could teach him anymore. The Wookiee decided to stay on Corsucant, in the Jedi Temple for now.
Despite not having a master, the Healers in the Temple were as helpful as they could be to Salporino. Many of them allowed him to stick around the medical wing and assist them in anyway he could. It helped him more than meditation did, to be able to focus on something and let his mind be clear besides just his task.
The war progressed, and the galaxy kept moving. But Salporino remained unchanged. He had not yet had the heart to approach any of the other Knights who ere healers about them taking him on as a padawan. Despite the time it had been since Adria left the Order, Salporino hadn't gotten over it yet.
Eventually, Salporino stopped hearing from Mirsa completely, and Adria's own messages became erratic since apparently she was traveling the galaxy with Reese. It wasn't long before Adria had her baby, a daughter that the pair named Sasha. The Jedi Order was kind enough to allow Salporino to go with the recruiter, a Duros by the name of Grazi, when they discovered the child was Force-sensitive.
Adria and Salporino were excited to see each other again on Cardia, were Reese and Adria were landed for the moment. This was the first time that Salporino met the man that he thought had taken Adria from him. He was cold to Reese, no longer angry but bitter.
Adria could figure why Salporino was acting the way he was. She was sad to see what had happened to Salporino, and tried to comfort him but nothing really helped. Grazi and Salporino left with the newborn Sasha and when back to Coruscant after Adria wished them all well.
Salporino's life after that remained pretty routine. Helping the Healers, practicing his lightsaber techniques, then studying in the Archives. There was one time he helped an older padawan with a new cybernetic arm.
The human had lost his in a duel, and he seemed pretty torn up about the failure. Salporino did what he could for him both emotionally and physically. But Salporino never learned his name. That was about the only exciting thing to happen to the Wookiee since picking up Sasha for the Order.
Salporino started to wonder if he'd ever get chosen by a Master again. While everything seemed fine with the Wookiee on the outside, the hurt and doubt was all inside, something he didn't feel comfortable sharing. The Wookiee feels abandoned at times, which let him slip into a state of depression.
A Whole New... Galaxy: Age 17
Salporino was fed up with waiting around the Jedi Temple. He felt abandoned and alone. His master had left him, his only friend had dropped out of contact. It wasn't long before the Wookiee stopped working around the Temple and training and just resorted to lounging.
It wasn't long before he started to feel resentment towards those who abandoned him. And then it wasn't long again before Salporino considered packing the bags and leaving the whole Order that had passed him up. A few days after this idea, the Wookiee packed up what possessions he owned, mostly clothes and his lightsaber, and left the Jedi Temple in the dead of night. The Order had abandoned him, and while he didn't hate them for it, he was done with them. He would do good in the galaxy on his own.
RP Sample:
Medical machines whirred and buzzed all around. The small, square room was covered in one color: white. Everything from the counter to the machines and the bed on which a young human sat, holding his mechanical arm.
Salporino was looking at one of the machines, reading the display as quick as his eyes would let him. The young Knight had come in with a complication with his cybernetic arm. The Healer that had been looking over him though, a twi'lek by the name of Sav'van, had let the Wookiee take care of it.
Salporino was overjoyed to have the work. He knew quite a bit about cybernetics since working with his Mirsa, who had two herself. And it kept him busy, something that the Wookiee lacked since he was without a master for now. However, the human on the bed seemed a bit... wary about having a young Wookiee work on him.
<<You said one of your fingers stopped moving this morning, right?>>
Salporino asked the Knight without taking his eyes off of the monitor. Except, Salporino's 'speech' came out as nothing more than grunts, growls, and other deep throaty sounds. That's where the translator hanging from his belt came in useful.
“My master wishes to confirm that it was your fourth finger that stopped responding earlier today, correct?”
The translator said in a mechanical voice. Unlike Salporino, it was very proper. He often got annoyed by how it made him sound, but it's benefits far outweighed it's negativity. The Knight looked confused for a moment before responding.
“Yeah, that's right.”
Salporino looked at him quickly and then back at the monitor. It was nothing wrong with the arms or nerves, or any of the organics. So it must be in the cybernetic itself.
He went to the counter where Salporino grabbed a pair of pliers, and then started to head towards the Knight. Stopping at the bed Salporino asked him as nicely as he could make it, coming from a Wookiee.
<<Would you mind opening your arm up please? I need to check inside it.>>
“My master wishes you to open up access to your cybernetic limb. He wishes to check the interior for any irregularities.”
A wave of relief came over to Knight's face. Salporino could only guess that a large Wookiee coming at you with a pair of pliers was a menacing sight, but he really did mean no harm. The Knight pried open a panel on the arm and Salporino took a look inside.
Indeed, the cybernetic itself was the problem. Some of the wires had gotten twisted during the last maintenance, or so Salporino thought. Since they had been twisted, one of them came unplugged. Gently inserting the pair of pliers, Salporino untwisted the wires and plugged the one back in.
The Knight started to move his had immediately, all of his fingers responding to him. Salporino closed up the arm and smiled at the Knight, who only looked back at him. He wasn't smiling.
“Thanks, I guess.”
Salporino could tell that the Knight was upset. He wasn't ungrateful at the Wookiee for fixing him. Instead, there must've been something wrong with the arm itself. Many Jedi were torn up when they received a replacement like that. Their self confidence had been destroyed, they felt useless or like a big failure. Salporino had seen it before.
The Wookiee scooped the Knight into a big, comforting hug. It was the best way he knew how to convey what he was feeling. He was trying to tell the Knight to not worry, to not give up. That everything would be okay.
Now if only Salporino could tell himself the same thing.
