Pash Arlos Full Name • Pash Arlos (Birth), Pash Kryze (Legal) Nickname • Captain, Flyboy, Nerf-Herder, Laser-Brain, Space Cowboy, etcetc Race • Human Birthplace • Iziz, Onderon Age • 31 Gender • Male Sexuality • Hetero Faction • Fringe Concept • Smuggler, Rank 3 Languages • Basic (Fluent), Mando’a (Fluent), Huttese (Understood), Shyriiwook (Understood) Assets • The Our Lady of Onderon (Heavily Modified HWK-545 Light Freighter), blaster pistol in left hip holster, vibro-dagger hidden in right boot, lucky goggles on neck Appearance Height & Weight • 6’1”, 176 .lbs Overall Looks • Pash is a simple, ordinary man, and his appearance says as much. Square jawed and dark haired with a nose just on the big side, the Captain has some well groomed facial hair, sitting somewhere just after full-blown stubble in terms of thickness. Sitting above Pash's rather normal nose is a pair of somewhat narrow eyes, chocolate brown in color. Pash's eyes, despite their lack of color, express a wide range of emotions from the man, even when his face may tell a different story. Pash keeps the mop of hair on the top of his head short, but not over dramatically so. Rather, it's usually kept neat, and is hardly ever messy. He tries to keep it at the length where he can achieve this with little to no maintenance. Pash has never had a tattoo, nor does he have any outstanding muscle definition, though he does keep in shape. His body in long, tall, and somewhat thin. Really, after the man's face, the only things worth mentioning is three clustered blaster scars on the left side of his abdomen from his first firefight, a pair of scars on his right forearm from a particularly upset ex-client with a large knife, and a collection of scars on his back gained from being beaten with a force-pike during his internment in a Sith labor camp. The Captain's clothes scream "tramp freighter", as appropriate to Pash's chosen occupation. From the blue, sleeveless duster, to the tan fingerless gloves, to the goggles around his neck, Most people can correctly guess on first sight that Pash flies around the galaxy, looking for work wherever it may be found. The blaster pistol strapped to his left hip suggests that Pash isn't so scrupulous as to whether or not that work falls within the official law of whatever sector of space he's currently flying through. He always wears a pair of tan knee pads and tall boots, ready to trek through any environment. Personality Profile Pash Kryze is a very different man on the outside than he is on the inside. On the outside, Pash can be rude and crass, ready with a smart remark and a witty one-liner. His language can be crude, and he makes no apologies for the way he acts. In some ways, he can come across as a bit of an ass, plainly put. Or more than a bit, depending on your outlook. Some would almost swear Pash has a bit of Corellian in him, given his risk-taking attitude and high amount of self-confidence. This confidence can come off as almost self-praise, but more often than not, Pash can back up his claims. He's quick witted and can improvise plans on the fly, but this doesn’t stop where his mouth is concerned, which can get him in trouble sometimes. The span of patience that Pash carries is short, and more often than not he prefers a straight fight than something rather dishonest. On the inside, Pash has a heart of gold. He may curse himself, his ship, all of the nine hells and the Force itself but he’ll always do the right thing in the end. The Captain’s heart can reach out to people, on occasion, and especially if they’re in a circumstance that he’s been through himself. Those people he calls friends he will always look out for, and never betray. Pash doesn’t often act like he cares, but he shows it, and this can make him hard to get a read on when someone is trying to get close to the real him. He has a good sense of humor, often directing his smart comments in a way to bring laughter. There’s also a sense of mercy about Pash, as he won’t kill a prisoner or an unarmed man, no matter their crimes. These two Pash’s coming together can make for a man that can hard to get along with, but surprising vulnerable to those he’s intimately close with. A man with a great sense of humor based off his quick wit, but someone who’s been burned before, and won’t let himself be hurt again. A man who his friends really understand, and simply tell others that you have to know him. Pash is stubborn, and set in his ways. He dislikes change, and won’t stand for someone trying to change him. He can be a creature of habit when it comes to certain aspects of his life. He knows how to avoid trouble with the law, bounty hunters, and force-users, and would rather run than fight, but doesn't shy at the thought of pulling out his blaster when he needs to. Pash enjoys card games. He enjoys a fine Corellian whiskey. And if you were to ask him, he’d say he’s always looking for the next big paycheck. Looking for the day he finally buys his own moon. For the silk sheets and caviar, the servants and VIP treatment. But truthfully, the thing Pash loves more than anything in the Galaxy is his ship, The Our Lady of Onderon. He loves the freedom it brings. The joy from risky flying. He loves to travel, and see the Galaxy. Pash doesn’t believe in destiny, he believes that he makes his own, and his ship lets him do just that. If Pash ever had enough money to retire for the rest of his life, he wouldn’t know what to do with himself. And he would never give up his ship. Background Father • Kyle Arlos, Deceased, Officer in the Onderonian Royal Guard Mother • Iella Arlos, 55, Disabled Widow Siblings • N/A Other Important Connections • Gaarchiir, 121, First Mate and Co-Pilot, Best Friend [NPC] Isandri Kast, 29, Smuggler, Former Lover and Trustworthy Friend Lex Narcarro, 32, Gambler, Untrustworthy Friend Shaara Bey, 31, Mercenary, Rival Overall History • Pash Arlos was born in the walled city of Iziz, to the newly wed couple of Kyle and Iella Arlos. Pash would be the couple’s first, and only, child. For not long after the baby was born, Kyle was killed in some rioting that the Royal Guard was trying to control when a speeder was flipped on top of the poor man. Iella couldn’t handle the grief of losing her husband and the love of her life, and was soon rendered mute from shock, and unable to take care of herself. Pash, still a baby at this point, was given to the social care system. The orphanage that took the young boy in was a Republic mission called “The Our Lady of Onderon”, which was ran by very strict stewards. Fortunately for the orphanage, and for Pash, he was adopted quickly. Though this wouldn’t last. Pash had the unfortunate ability to be considered a “problem child”. He was in and out of foster care for the majority of the beginning of his life, always coming back to “The Our Lady of Onderon”. The stewards half debated packing Pash up and sending him to one of the Corps ran by the Jedi, or to the Core worlds and a more permanent orphanage, since that was were he seemed comfortable. They would never get the chance, however, as at the age of seven Pash ran away from his last foster home, and from the social care system in general. Despite the fact that Iziz is a walled city, the Royal Guard couldn’t find the young, runaway Pash. He fell in with a group of cut-purses who sheltered him, and taught him how to survive. Pash grew close to two in particular, a Zeltron girl named Luxa, and a human boy named Joomas. Joomas, however, would unfortunately be struck and killed by a speeder while trying to tail someone to rob. After that, Pash split apart from the group. He was successful at surviving for the most part, a memorable act of purse cutting coming from robbing a wookiee of their whole satchel. It wouldn’t last much longer, however, as when Pash tried to rob a Mandalorian, his whole world changed. The Mandalorian in question was a stern, twisted man by the name of Ghes Kryze. Pash had heard of the Mandalorians before; they were the boogeymen of all of the Onderonian children's tales. Ghes caught Pash, and seeing his ingenuity, he pressed him into service for his bounty hunting crew. The Hunters were after a particularly shifty mark, and they used the young boy to draw him out. Once the mark was out of hiding, Ghes shot him down right in front of Pash. After that, the Mandalorians took the boy off-world. They taught him how to fight. They taught him about bounty hunting. They taught him Mando’a, and spoke only such when they were in private. They beat Pash when he under-performed, or was stubborn, or for pretty much the slightest reason they could think of. In general, they treated the young boy like crap, and used him as much as they could use the guise of an innocent boy for cons, scams, and bounty hunting. The experience toughened Pash up, to be sure, but he grew to hate every single member of the bounty hunting crew. Especially Ghes. And he grew to hate Mandalorians in general. Pash started to fight back in the little ways he could when he became a teenager, and he knew they wouldn’t put up with it long. In the dead of night at the age of fifteen, Pash stole away on an escape pod off of the bounty hunter’s ship. He didn’t care he didn’t know where he was, he just had to get away from these evil Mandalorians. They didn’t give chance, either not noticing until it was too late, or not caring. The escape pod was found by a light freighter, and a lone Pantoran male. He was kind enough, and introduced himself as Esvan Kast. He gave the boy a large meal, a fresh change of clothes, a warm bed, and tended to his fresh cuts and bruises. And then he offered Pash a job. Not demanded. Of course he made it clear that Pash would have to leave his ship, The Spectre, at the next stop if he decided to not take the job. But after seeing what Pash was made of, the job was too good for either party to pass up. Simply put, he needed someone to help unload cargo on Ord Mantell, and Pash would get a large split of the profits for helping. Pash accepted, but the job went hardly as expected. They didn’t land at a spaceport on Ord Mantell, but in a dark and damp cave. Esvan wouldn’t tell Pash what was in the crates, just that they needed to be unloaded. Unfortunately, though, the Pantoran’s business deal went sideways, and blasters started firing all around. Pash made for some cover while Esvan made short work of his aggressors, but there was just too many for the lone alien. Pash had thrown rocks, cargo, whatever he could, and had been shot back at in return. The last of three, a Rodian, gained the upper hand on Esvan, and had the Pantoran at his mercy. The Rodian had discounted Pash, however, and the boy had picked up a discarded blaster and shot the Rodian dead. Despite his time with the Bounty Hunters, this was the first time he had ever shot anyone, let alone killed them. Esvan and Pash patched each other up, and Esvan offered Pash a permanent spot on The Spectre. The boy accepted on the spot. Esvan finished Pash’s education, which was started by the stewards at “The Our Lady of Onderon”. He taught the boy how to fly, how to shoot, how to turn a hydrospanner, and all about smuggling. And the pair made quite the duo for a couple of years. They were hounded by Ghes Kryze every now and then, but managed to evade him for the most part. Yet when Pash was seventeen, Esvan brought his daughter onboard The Spectre permanently as well, her name was Isandri. Esvan explained that she wasn’t replacing Pash, just that she had nowhere else to go. The Pantoran tried to keep the girl away from the smuggling, and away from Pash. But both teenagers hit it off very well. Still, it took Pash almost two years before he could work up the courage to go behind Esvan’s back and sleep with Isandri. Esvan was livid when he found out, and Pash left The Spectre before there was a large blowout. He took his time making his way to the Core, taking odd jobs here and there until he was about twenty-one. During this time, the war between the Republic and Sith ignited. When Pash heard that Onderon had been invaded by Mandalorians, his pace towards the Core quickened, and he joined the Republic Navy as a starfighter pilot, given his already previous knowledge of flying. He was folded into Blue Squadron, a group of Aurek-class fighters based on the carrier Chandrila’s Aegis. However, after gaining almost ten confirmed kills in one skirmish and out-performing the whole squadron, Pash’s squadron leader recommended him for the Bandits, a squadron of fighters that performed high-risk raids into enemy held territory. Pash accepted without a thought. He flew a few missions with the Bandits, and fit in well with the squadron. However, Pash’s time there didn’t last long as he was eventually shot-down over Sith-held Garqi. Pash survived the crash without so much as a scratch, finding a nice caf bean field to set down in. However, his success would be short lived as he was found by Sith troopers almost immediately. Pash was taken as a captive of war, and transferred to an Imperial mining camp on one of the moons of Serenno. It was there that he met Gaarchiir, a Wookiee and another captive. Pash beat a guard for almost beating Gaarchiir to death, which in turned earned Pash several hits from a force-pike. Once Pash and Gaarchiir recovered enough, and Gaarchiir had taught Pash enough Shyriiwook, they rallied enough of the other prisoners for a prison break. Pash and Gaarchiir stole a shuttle, and left the system as fast as they possibly could. Kashyyyk was where the two ditched the Sith shuttle, no doubt able to be tracked. Gaarchiir wanted to check on his family and friends, who had been the target of slavers. They had seemed fine, but it was an ambush set by the slavers to find more Wookiees. Pash saved Gaarchiir and his loved ones, and Gaarchiir swore a life debt to the man. They continued to travel together, making their way for Republic Space, and on the way life debts became more of a friendship, as they saved each other time and again. The two eventually made their way to Pantora, where they found Isandri. She was happy to see Pash alive and well, but explained that Esvan had passed away. Gaarchiir and Pash flew with Isandri on The Spectre for awhile, as she struggled to get on her own two feet. The Pantoran and Pash picked up their romance right where they had left it, wasting no time before they were in bed together. Pash showed Isandri all of Esvan’s old tricks and habits and contacts, and she kept the trio well paid. There was one job in particular that she had to hire more crew for, a heist off of a magrail train. This was when Pash and Gaarchiir’s bond really started to form, as they saved each other and Isandri from a murderous, mutinous crew. The magrail train was derailed in the fighting, yet they still managed to get out with the job complete. But it seemed that almost as soon as Pash and Gaarchiir had joined Isandri, she didn’t need them to help her anymore. They requested to be dropped off on Corellian, no doubt being able to find their own ship there. Though things didn’t go as expected, and a crazy, last ditch effort by Pash involved joining the Annual Sabacc Open at the Coronet Casino, and hoping that he won big. And win big he did. The Sabacc Open is where Pash met Lex Narcarro, a smooth talking Zeltron with a fetish for suits, scarfs, and the Twi’lek escorts that hung off of his arms. They had traded small quips and polite comments the whole game, but when it came down to it, Pash and Lex were the last two players. Hondo ran out of money himself, and betted his ship, a Corellian Engineering Corporation HWK-545 Light Freighter. Pash won said ship. Lex and Pash respected each other as Sabacc players, and became friends, though Pash wasn’t sure he could ever fully trust the Zeltron. Pash and Gaarchiir flew Hondo out to Nar Shaddaa as the alien had requested, and they kept in contact afterwards. With a ship to call his own, Pash and Gaarchiir set out to modify the freighter to hell and back. They throttled as much speed as they could out of the hyperdrive and the sunlight engines. They added smuggling holds. They added a docking gun. By the time they were done, it didn’t look like the ship Hondo knew. It was one of a kind, and Pash made sure everyone knew he was flying the fastest ship in the Outer Rim. He named it after his old orphanage. But boasting about the ship was a mistake. The Our Lady of Onderon was stolen on Abregado-Rae one day, and Pash found out who had done it almost immediately. Ghes Kryze. Pash was able to get the ship back before they left the planet, and the two started a whole game of cat-and-mouse across the Galaxy. As the war was coming to an end, Ghes was able to find bounties on Pash and Gaarchiir both in both Republic and Sith Space. No where was safe. So Pash and Gaarchiir went on the offensive. The made a plan with Isandri’s and Lex’s support, and lured Ghes into a trap in a seedy lower city bar on Eriadu. Gaarchiir, Isandri, and lex wiped out Ghes’s gang, and Pash took out the leader himself. Isandri and Lex split not long after, leaving together, and Pash and Gaarchiir kept flying. After taking out Ghes, Pash and Gaarchiir had an interesting run in with the Exchange. They simply needed to move some much needed cargo to their cell on Onderon, and do it quickly. This was the first time Pash had been back to Onderon since leaving with Ghes. Gaarchiir remarked that the last time he was on Onderon several years ago, a young kid stole his whole satchel. Pash’s old friend, Luxa, was the Exchange underboss on Onderon they were meeting with. Pash and Luxa hit it off well, and whether it was the alcohol or the Zeltron pheromones, they ended up in bed together. Luxa betrayed Pash, stole his ship and the cargo, which turned out to be high powered weaponry to set the Exchange back on top of the food chain of the underworld on Onderon. Luxa proceeded to consolidate her own power on Onderon and split from the Exchange. Pash killed her simply for taking his ship. The new Exchange boss paid Pash handsomely and offered him a spot in their organization, but he said he would always and forever remain his own boss. While still on Onderon, after all the business with the Exchange, Pash decided to look up whatever family he may still have had on the planet. He started with The Our Lady of Onderon, his old orphanage, which was more than happy to point him towards the Beckett Institute, a hospital for the mentally handicapped. There, for the first time since he was a baby, Pash saw his mother. Her face lit up when she saw him, and the Captain figured that was because he looked just like a man in a lot of the holos she kept around. Though she was still mute, she perked up for the first time in years, and truly became herself once again. Pash told her all the highlights of his life, finding she was a good listener, and Iella took a liking to Gaarchiir. Eventually, Pash was able to get his mother discharged. He had no intention of settling down with her, but he found her a small apartment by the Wall of Iziz, and helped supplement her income from the state for being disabled with his own. Iella’s place eventually became a place for Pash and Gaarchiir to lay low, and to crash when they needed a rest. Pash even started going by Arlos as his last name, even though in was Kryze on most of his paperwork, especially from his days with the Republic Navy. The Smuggler didn’t bother to correct that fact. Most recently, Pash and Gaarchiir were hired to move some cargo from Serenno to Kuat, for a Sith Aristocrat. The Aristocrat, a man named Lyle Rourke, insisted on his own agent going with the pair, a Togruta named Shaara Bey. Taking a job from a Sith made both Pash and Gaarchiir uneasy, and the Togruta didn't help matters. Tensions ran high on the trip, and eventually Gaarchiir held Bey down while Pash checked out the cargo. More weaponry. But it wasn’t going to some gang, or the Exchange or the Hutts, but a rebellious cell of terrorist on the Kuati surface. Pash had Gaarchiir dump Shaara in the escape pod, and turned his ship around. The pair were able to sell the weapons to a gang on mercenaries on Nal Hutta, and made out big time as they had been already paid in full from the Aristocrat. Not long after the the sale, however, Shaara came to Nal Hutta, looking for blood and money. Pash and Gaarchiir got into a firefight with the woman, were able to escape, and swore off any more business with Sith aristocrats. After all, they probably had huge bounties on their head in Sith Space now. |
