Gaeriel Krieg Full Name • Gaeriel Nomi Krieg Nickname • Eriel Race • Hapan Birthplace • Hapes Age • 29 Gender • Female Sexuality • Bi Faction • Jedi Order, Republic Concept • Jedi Knight (Rank 2) Languages • Basic, Huttese, Droidspeak, Bocce Assets • Lightsaber - Purple, Armored Flight Suit, Blaster Pistol Appearance Face Claim • Elisha Cuthbert Height & Weight • 5’ 2”, 119 .lbs Overall Looks • Gaeriel Krieg is a short woman, standing a few inches at least below most of her peers Her frame is slender as well, with a lithe hourglass figure, which is proportionate to her height. The Jedi’s stature doesn’t allow for much in the way of raw, physical strength. As such, Gaeriel makes up for this particular shortcoming by being graceful, light on her feet, and simply agile and nimble in general. The young woman keeps a head full of golden blonde hair, just above subdue, blue-grey eyes on high cheek bones with a narrow chin. Gaeriel is lucky enough in her lifetime to have avoided any serious injuries which would have left permanent scarring, so her white porcelain skin is rather unremarkable. Like most Hapans, Gaeriel is virtually blind in the dark, or even in some dim lighting. Almost like most Hapans, there are a variety of beings who tend to find the woman attractive. Aside from this, however, she has very close to the same physiology as most humans. The Jedi’s usual clothing is something of an armored flight suit, which lets her blend in on nearly any planet. The armored pieces consist of a chest piece, shoulder pads, and knee-high boots, all a dull grey in color. The chest piece contains controls for the suits systems along with a hose connection for life support, while the boots cover Gaeriel’s kneecaps and hug her calves. The shoulders consist of two pieces, which cover her collar bone well and allow for a maximum amount of movement. There is a white flak vest underneath the chest piece for added protection. The flight suit itself is black, with a golden trim. Gaeriel wears a belt around her middle with a few pouches for needed items, as well as a blaster at her hip in an increased effort to blend in to her surroundings. The woman’s Jedi robes are a rather standard set and design, with a tunic and high leather boots. The only difference is the color choice. Gaeriel’s main robes are black in color, both the top and the bottoms, as well as the belt and boots. Her outer cloak is somewhere between a wine red and an indigo, and she wears an undershirt which matches in color. Personality Profile Gaeriel Krieg is a Jedi Shadow who would have been much more adept at being a Jedi Ace. For as well as the woman can blend into her surroundings, perform covert operations, and generally seek out the darkside and destroy it where it threatens the innocent, she can fly even better. The controls of her starfighter are as if an extension of herself, and Gaeriel can utilize them as such. While the Force may aid her more often than not, and Gaeriel is skilled at calling on the Force while flying, much of her is talent natural as well. With this talent comes a wealth of mechanical knowledge and expertise, put to good work in the Jedi Temple’s hangars as a sort of “moving meditation” when Gaeriel has a lot on her mind. The Jedi Knight is a bit of an out-of-the-box thinker, especially when it comes to problems and opposition. She thinks well on her feet, and is hardly if ever left with inaction. Like most Jedi, Gaeriel has a hard time standing idly by when she can be doing something, anything, to help those around her. The woman can come off as a bit rebellious and possesses something of an argumentative attitude, but she had a good heart, and equally as good intentions. Given both her past and her career as a Shadow, Gaeriel is used to working alone, and as adapted to such conditions well. Gaeriel joins a growing number of Jedi within the Order who always have something to say. Not something useful, either. Even in the most dire and tense situations, Gaeriel can come up with some sort of witty remark, quip, or comeback, and doesn’t much mind who she says such things towards. These things don’t often go over well with other Jedi, and much of what Gaeriel says can come off as abrasive, to say the least. Coupled with a carefree attitude and a fiery passion, some would think that the woman doesn’t take much seriously. Others who understand Gaeriel would understand that it’s the woman’s way of dealing with stressful situations. Despite her intense loyalty to the Order and Code, some could assume that Gaeriel is on bad terms with the Jedi. Given her preference for her flight suit over normal robes, the fact that she carries a blaster as well as a lightsaber most times, and how much time she spends away from the Temple, it would be a fair assumption. But despite her somewhat lenient late padawan and early knighthood years, Gaeriel is tried, tested, and true to the Jedi and their tenants, and would never break from them for anything, or anyone. Background Father • Domholn Keln, 51, Factory Foreman Mother • Trista Keln, Deceased Siblings • N/A Other Important Connections • Rhissai Arckan, 74, Jedi Master, Former Master Syal Tokani, 28, Sith Knight, Former Romantic Entanglement [NPC] Rhett Corlun, 29, Bounty Hunter, Contact/Friend/Occasional Partner/One-Time Love Interest [NPC] Nola Raan, 28, Mechanic, Long Distance Friend Avadrie Sil, 20, Warden of the Sky, Side-Kick Overall History • The Hapes Consortium, especially the nobles and higher class, has always been ripe with intrigue and political maneuvering. Trista and Domholm Keln were no exception to this fact. In 3,622 BBY, the pair fled from Hapes, fearing persecution for their romance, as Domholm had been promised to another noble woman. At the time, Trista was with child, and the pair waited until Gaeriel Keln was born in order to leave the Hapes Cluster. By the time of 3,621 BBY, the pair were settled on the surface of Fondor, with work and a modest home. Though it would not last, as agents from the Cluster found Trista, and murdered the woman nearly a year after her flight. Domholm put the child up for adoption as he feared for both his safety and his daughters, and was unable to cope with Trista's death. Domholm changed Gaeriel's last name to Krieg when he left her at the orphanage, hoping to throw off anyone who might try and find her. After a mission on Fondor Kryl Nost, a Kel-Dor Jedi, found Gaeriel in the orphanage where her father had abandoned her and took her to Coruscant so she could become a Jedi. The girl took leaving everything she knew behind behind better than most children who joined the Order at her age did, as she was five, though Nost wasn’t sure that it registered with the young girl that she would never see her friends or the only home she had ever known again. Gaeriel grew up just as normal as any other youngling, smaller than most, but something of a firebrand. She never let her size hold her back during practical training, or sparring sessions with other children. She made a few friends, the only notable one being a Mirialan named Nola Raan. At the age of twelve, like many other younglings, Gaeriel was chosen by a Jedi Knight to become an apprentice. Her new master was named Aramil Spar, a human male, and a Jedi Shadow. As a Jedi Shadow, Gaeriel was given a tough training routine, and they spent much time away from the Temple on Coruscant as they hunted the growing presence of the Dark Side in the Outer Rim. Spar was rough on Gaeriel, but he showed that he cared as well, and wanted her to be the best that she could. He played loose with the rules, had a snappy attitude, and much of this rubbed off on the young girl under his tutelage. Gaeriel made her first lightsaber under Master Spar’s watch at the age of fifteen. It was a simply designed hilt, with a green blade. Spar also taught Gaeriel how to fly around this same time, which was something she took much joy in, and came naturally to the girl. Not long after both of these events, Amaril introduced Gaeriel to one of his contacts in the Outer Rim, a Twi’lek named Jov’vruum O’lars, who was a Warden of the Sky. Jov’vruum also had his own studen by this point, a human girl around Gaeriel’s age by the name of Syal Tokani. Gaeriel found the whole concept of the Warden’s of the Sky romantic and wonderful. She and Syal became friends fast. The two Jedi and two Wardens teamed up in order to take down a crew of pirates operating close to Jabiim, which was under the lead of a few dark Jedi. It was Gaeriel’s first time encountering a hostile Force-user. While she wasn’t injured, she was outclassed, and Amaril and Jov’vruum were eventually the ones to take down their leader - A Nautolan with a wicked double bladed lightsaber. Jov’vruum and Syal went on to free the pirate’s prisoners, while Amaril and Gaeriel secured whatever Force artifacts they found for cataloging and destruction. They didn’t find much, but they did find a holocron with a dark, evil aura about it As the Galaxy started to become more turbulent and spiral evermore towards war between the Republic and the Sith Empire, Gaeriel would eventually come to learn that Amaril had not in fact destroyed the holocron that they had seized off of the pirates near Jabiim, and was instead studying it. She let it go for the moment, as she hoped that her Master simply wanted to thoroughly catalogue the device’s contents. But over time, Amaril began to change. He started to become more jaded, and less patient. He could verbally snap at a moment’s notice over the littlest things. And after Gaeriel had to talk the man down from threatening a shop owner on Tatooine, she knew she had to do something. As the Jedi were too far away to assist her on Tatooine, Gaeriel reached out instead to Jov’vruum and Syal, who were in the sector at the time. She told them that she suspected that the holocron was taking hold of Amaril, and that she knew he suspected her of going behind his back. Jov’vruum and Syal showed up that very day, and together with Gaeriel, they confronted Amaril. Jov’vruum led the encounter, explaining to the man that they were all concerned about him, and his use of the holocron, and that he had changed over the past few years since the raid over Jabiim. Amaril refused to acknowledge any of it, and thought the three just wanted the holocron for themselves. He attacked the group, and slew Jov’vruum before Gaeriel and Syal drove him off and away from Tatooine. Gaeriel and Syal gave chase to Amaril for the next week or so, without waiting for the rest of the Jedi Order. They encountered him on Druckenwell, New Cov, and Manaan as the man ran for the Sith Empire, and the two young women fought him all three times. But Gaeriel was apprehended on Manaan for the violence and fighting, given the Selkath’s peaceful, neutral ways. Before Syal could come to her friend’s aid, however, another Jedi had instead. Rhissai Arckan was able to leverage the Selkath to release Gaeriel into her custody, and the Padawan told the High Councilor everything that had happened on Tatooine, and since. When the pair made it back to Coruscant, the news of the War was starting to break out. Rhissai took Gaeriel under her tutelage for the rest of the young woman’s training. As Master Arckan had a guiding hand in creating the Blades, Gaeriel promptly joined the faction under her new teacher. She was able to put her piloting talent to great use for the organization, and with Rhissai's permission, Gaeriel created the Aegis Squadron, which quickly became known as the elite pilots of the Blades. When the Padawan wasn't helping her Master on the ground with her talents as a Jedi Shadow, she could always be found in a cockpit or hangar bay. And when Gaeriel wasn't busy with business pertaining to the war effort, she was catching up with Syal. Syal had taken it upon herself her use her position as a Warden of the Sky to track Amaril Spar across the Galaxy, and dangle leads in front of Gaeriel's eyes so that the Jedi would come and help her. Finally, about two years into the War, Syal felt she had cornered Spar on Ord Mantel. Informing Rhissai of this development, the Jedi Master gave her Padawan leave to join the Warden of the Sky, and promptly followed when she could. Gaeriel was intent on taking Spar alive, but Syal wouldn't have it. Her hatred and rage had consumed her, and when they had defeated Amaril, the two women turned on each other while arguing about what to do with their captive. Gaeriel was able to drive Syal off, but Spar was killed in the fighting. Gaeriel found herself once again explaining away a mess to Rhissai, when the Jedi Master finally arrived. Not long after the duel on Ord Mantel, Gaeriel was Knighted, and became a full-fledged member of both the Jedi Order and the Blades. For most major battles, she led Aegis Squadron. In the lull between engagements, she put her Shadow training to use by gathering intelligence and performing counter espionage. For such tasks, Gaeriel was often paired with another member of Aegis Squadron, a human male named Rhett Corlun. Rhett was kind and quick-witted, and had an eye for Gaeriel, but she rebuffed him at every turn, mainly due to her failed relationship with Syal. Taris was a catalyst for many on both sides, and the members of Ageis Squadron were no different. Much of the squadron had been shot down in the chaotic battle, Gaeriel had still been a young Knight when the battle happened, and the loss of so many under her command weighed on her. It in fact was a distraction that proved to be her downfall, as she herself was shot down in the Lower City. Rhett had crashed not far off, and despite the pair's bumpy landing, they only had some scrapes and bruises. They fought their way through the rakghouls and Imperials alike, making it just in time to the Republic evacuations. Gaeriel and Rhett shared a brief moment after Taris, but Rhett would end up leaving the Order after the battle. Taris had been his home, and he felt the Jedi had been at least partially responsible for it's death. And to Gaeriel, the Jedi was everything. After Taris, Gaeriel took on a padawan of her own. He was a Miraluka boy of about twelve, named Aramis Kiner. Aramis was neither tall nor strong, but he was crafty, and he had a certain infallible conviction about him. Aramis took to his training under Gaeriel in great strides, and she didn't hold back anything about the War, or being a Jedi Shadow. Aramis was more quiet and studious than his Master in many cases, and the two worked well together for several years, until just before the Battle of Coruscant. Gaeriel and Aramis had been partially responsible in helping make sure the Republic was ready for the attack, due to their intelligence gathering, but it had come at a high price. The pair had been ambushed by a handful Sith while on Utapau, one of which knew Gaeriel personally. Syal Tokani, now Lady Azorius, slew Aramis personally. The Jedi Knight couldn't even retrieve the body of her fallen student before having to make her leave due to the overwhelming numbers, and Gaeriel lost her green-bladed lightsaber in the fighting as well, as it was destroyed. Recalled to Coruscant, she led Ageis Squadron in defense of the planet. After Aramis's death, Gaeriel had fallen into what could only be described as a "funk". A funk that her old master, Rhissai, helped her escape. The two women hadn't bonded so much as teacher and student, as Gaeriel was almost ready for Knighthood when Rhissai had taken her on. But now, sharing the burden and pain of a lost padawan together, they grew close. Rhissai helped Gaeriel craft a new lightsaber with a krayt dragon pearl at it's center, which produced a purple blade, much like the one Aramis had once used. |
