Sabre-Class Transport concept here Name • KDY Sabre-Class Transport Classification • Starship - Transport/Courier Origin • Kuat Drive Yards Specifications Size • - Height: 7.4 Meters - Width: 40.3 Meters - Length: 20.2 Meters Appearance • The Sabre-Class Transport is a modern, sleek design of ship that harkens back to the ancient days of craft that would fly through the atmosphere. Colored copper and silver, the ship possesses two wings on each side, which slightly droop and end with moveable s-foils. The back of the ship tapers off into a split tail, which houses a powerful engine. The cockpit sits in front of this engine, with much of the rest of the interior either below or off to the sides, compact but not uncomfortable. Under the singular engine is the entrance point, something of a mix between a ramp and a ladder. Three landing struts extent from the transport, one in the back (which serves as the ramp portion to the entrance as well), and two in the front. Function The Sabre-Class Transport was designed for the Jedi Order at the end of the Dark Wars and the Purge, when the Order once again became active. Though this makes the original design roughly three hundred years old, extensive modifications and upgrades have been made in the time since. Originally, the ship was designed to transport master-and-student pairings across the Galaxy as fast as possible. As the Jedi Order’s needs and missions shifted with time, as did the use of the transport. The newest models of the Sabre-Class have modular interiors, and to a limit mechanics as well. Since the most recent War, all have been equipped with a small, light dual laser cannon turret near the front and nose on the belly which can be retracted. The laser turret can be used by the ship-board computer, manually by a member of the crew, or locked in a forward position for a single pilot to use. The landing struts are also specifically designed to be able to land on almost any terrain, and contain flotation devices that deploy when contact is made with the surface of most large bodies of water. The modular interiors are as followed - Standard - The standard interior is meant for two people; a master and an apprentice. There are sleeping bunks for both, amenities for longer missions, and the necessary equipment needed to keep in contact with the Temple on Coruscant. There is also enough cargo space for two compact speeder bikes if the need should ever arise. Strike Team - The strike team interior design is a new edition since the most recent War. Designed to carry up to four Jedi into dangerous zones such as battles, skirmishes, or short-term and violent missions. The pair of compact speeder bikes remain, but the sleeping bunks do not, and are traded out for seating with crash harnesses. Many of the amenities are removed for extra shielding and armor, as well. Watchman - Designed specifically for the Jedi Watchman, this modular interior sacrifices the turret and speeder bike for a faster engine, better communication devices, and advanced sensor equipment. While the sleeping bunks remain, this version of the ship is not meant for long voyages, and are more for Jedi attending to duties within the system they watch over for the Jedi Order. Seeker - One of the oldest designs, this version of the Sabre-Class Transport is designed for a singular occupant for long voyages into deep space on exploration missions. The speeder bike is removed, as was the second sleeping bunk, for more personal space for the Jedi Seeker using the starship; space to stretch their legs and keep a few personal possessions. Like the Watchman modular interior, the Seeker also comes equipped with advanced sensors and communication equipment. |
