Daren was roaming through Ahto City, his master finally allowed him too leave their quarters. They had only been on the planet a short time and Daren hated it. There was nothing of value to be learned here never the less he had to follow his master. He tried to find some entertainment in the city but found little. He found himself a balcony and stared off into the dark blue abyss. The constant troops patrolling was something he had just recently gotten used to. His master had told him not to worry they couldn’t sense his presence here. He sighed and turned around as a large group of troops left the where they Army would pick up their Kolto. He laughed because of how frustrated they looked. The leader of the group was oddly a female, with long golden brown hair. He instantly was interested in her, but then again he was the first woman he’d really seen since he’d gotten here. Also the fact she was the only one keeping their cool. One of the troops yelled turning back towards the distribution plant. “They’re trying to rip us off!” the soldier yelled raising his fist in the air. He watched leaning on the rail and the group dispersed apparently they had a change of plans. The woman was in her twenties, and left alone. Daren considered going over to her but he just stayed where he was watching her and leaning on the rail feeling the cool breeze.

Song: Losing My Religion - by R.E.M))
As annoyed as she was, Aunna was far to strong willed to give in easily. The group of navy men behind her were all growls and snarls about the Selkath's unfair prices and her apparent 'lack of backbone'...the young woman, however, was far from done with the selkath kolto traders. Oh no, Aunna was far too stubborn for that nonsense...she just had to bide her time now. As Joel turned and shouted at the traders, Aunna stopped abruptly, nearly causing the rodian behind her to run face first into her.
Enough....all of you, that's enough. You have the night off. Meet me back here tomorrow morning...
There was a collective sound of approval....
....sober.
...And a collective groan. This made her smile slightly, but she only let it show in the form of a sparkling in her eyes and a light smirk.
Be here at 0900 sharp...if all goes well, we'll have us some Kolto. Dismissed.
As the men went their own ways, the nagging feeling that she was being watched came to the fore of her mind, and a cold chill ran down her spine. Yes, she KNEW there was someone watching her now. Cursing slightly to herself, she realized she'd left her spear in the shuttle so she only had a dagger and a blaster on her. Huffing a moment, she turned slowly and gazed around, blue eyes narrowed dangerously. Not seeing anyone that seemed to be the one watching her, she raised her chin a fraction of an inch as if to indicate that she knew she was being watched, and daring whoever it was to just try something...they'd be sorry.
Turing on her heel, she walked off to one of the local dive bars. She knew this one from the chatter of the local Republic military men wandering about. It seemed it had been one of the more popular places to eat, so she figured she might as well try it out. Heading down the streets, she kept an ear and an eye out for whoever it was that had been watching her. The back of her mind tingled with a simple song and her leg twinged oddly. Pausing, she furrowed her brow and tilted her head to the side ever so slightly, showing her mild confusion. Passing it off as nothing, she continued on her way.
Oh no, I've said too much I haven't said enough
As she passed one of the landing pads the military used, Aunna was forced to pause, confusion rippling through her as the lyrics from the song came to the fore of her thoughts. Turning her head to gaze through the opening of the platform, she thought she could hear snatches of conversation. Walking closer she could almost hear the sound of air being filtered through a rebreather. No one in the military would be wearing something like that...so what...what was going on? Blinking blue eyes, she leaned against the entryway, one hand resting against the cold metal as she peered into the area. It was...empty? Not even a ship was docked there...
I thought that I heard you laughing
The sound of a man's deep and heartfelt laughter rang in her ears, though it seemed from a great distance, as if time and space separated her from the sound...however...she was certain it was coming from here! Another look around, leaning a bit further into the hanger, the young woman blinked confusedly as she once again reassured herself that there was, indeed, no one else there. Shaking her head, her waterfall of golden brown hair waved about her head and shoulders as she made a face of discontent and unease. It was time to go. Things were getting too strange here.
I thought that I heard you sing
As she walked another wave of song swept through her mind, just like the last two times. This one, however, was far more quiet, nearly silent even to her. It was as if it were merely an echo...an integral part of the song, yet it hadn't been fully cemented into the lyrics yet....as if...as if she were catching a glimpse of the future that the song held. Aunna chuckled at that, albeit nervously, and reassured herself that that was the stupidest notion she'd ever come up with about those silly songs. Wrapped in these thoughts, she'd not only forgotten about her previous feeling of being watched, but she had swiftly reached the dive bar. Upon entering a sequence of events unfolded that once again brought the young woman to a halt.
I think I thought I saw you try...
That's me in the corner That's me in the spotlight, I'm Losing my religion Trying to keep up with you And I don't know if I can do it Oh no, I've said too much I haven't said enough I thought that I heard you laughing I thought that I heard you sing I think I thought I saw you try...
Her breath caught in her chest as her vision blurred for a moment, only to be replaced by the same scene...but something was decidedly...different...something was off. The people still milled about, but they milled about in what seemed to be an extraordinarily organized fashion. She was suspicious. They began to part to the side of her. She was wary. A re-breather masked face appeared at the end of the tunnel of people. She was confused.
Blue eyes narrowed to slits as she gazed in the direction of the man, and though she seemed compelled to join the leonine man, Aunna stayed stubbornly where she stood. He motioned for her to go and sit with him, and cautiously she took a step in the direction of the booth. Once again her vision blurred and she blinked stupidly, looking only at an empty booth, people coming across her field of view. Confused, and now on edge, Aunna took a breath and took another step in the direction of the booth as if half expecting something else to happen. When it didn't, she shook her head again and moved hurriedly to the booth, sitting down in it and sighing heavily as she relaxed in it.
This relaxation was short lived, unfortunately, for she soon heard snatches of conversation...the same male and female voices she'd heard before in the hanger. Shivering slightly, Aunna sat and strained to hear what they said...but it was so unclear, so dim and distant, that she could barely make anything out....it wasn't until the vague, acrid, smell of burning air and skin came to her nose that she could even decipher any meaningful words out of the voices...and it was only the man's voice then...
"Look...me...Concentrate....not...pain...Look into...eyes....am sorry, little one...hurt...necessary. Others may have...stand by...withhold help...but...not do...same...you."
...I think I thought I saw you try...
Disturbed by the words and the song, Aunna got the distinct feeling of fear and finality that one might get upon learning they had a terminal illness...as if the weave of time and fate was binding her to this spot to return at a later date and time to face her true destiny. It was unsettling to say the least, and the young woman's blue eyes became distant as she mulled over the potential meaning and repercussions of this....feeling of portent.

Daren watched her as she walked away and then popped off the rail. He was sick of this day and he wanted to return home he would find her again if that was the will of the force. He typed in the code and swiped his card on the keypad. The door hissed open slowly; it was heavy and reinforced. “Master.” “What have you seen?” Daren’s master removed his hood revealing his old and destroyed face. Years of using the dark side had turned him into a frail creature but a wise one. He closed the door with a wave of his hand and Daren rose an eyebrow, “What do you speak of master?” “I do not know but you do.” he said with a wry smile. Daren pointed his hand toward a table and poured himself a cup of water and it came to his hand. He drank it calmly and the said putting the glass down, “I saw a group of Republic troops, the Selkath are cheating them.” “Yes, this is the way of this world, that despicable race believes it can play anyone in the galaxy as fools and get away with it. There time will come.” His master spoke in a strange way getting excited on some words and emphasizing certain syllables. Daren found this slightly amusing but also frightening because his master’s mind was heavily polluted by the dark side. That however had it’s uses. “I see, I came to tell you of these things. I need to get something to eat.” Daren bowed and his master called him back, “Daren, be careful I sense a disturbance. It is small…but it remains.” his master stopped as he heard something, a slow mechanical breathing then rose his hood and returned to his vexing. Daren left and headed towards the bar. He was seated on a stool at the bar, he turned around and saw the same republic soldier from before. The woman, What is her purpose here…I feel a great disturbance within her. He looked forward and saw a mirror in the upper corner of the bar. From there he could watch the woman, she seemed deep in thought and uninterested with her surroundings. Daren sat waiting for a server and watched.

Aunna had calmed slightly since the last lyrics had come to her mind, and slowly she managed to bring herself back to awareness. The serving droid trundled up and requested her order, which she gave after a moment of thought, adding a stiff drink at the end. Heaven knew she needed it at the moment, and one drink wasn't about to hurt anything. Sighing, she gazed around the bar, once again getting the odd sensation of being watched. It was lessened this time, however, dulled by the previous happenings. Just what had gone on anyway? She'd not had anything like that happen before.
After a few minutes the serving droid returned with her drink, and she took it gladly. Eagerly taking a sip, she could already feel her nerves starting to settle a bit more...this, of course, was just her imagination as the amber colored liquid hadn't had time to take any effect yet, but it had a decent placebo effect. As the young woman settled herself a bit more, she continued to scan the surroundings. There, sitting at the bar, was a young man...perhaps a little younger than herself...and she noticed that he would glance up every once in a while at the mirrors before him, his eyes focusing in her direction. So it was HIM that had been watching her? Sighing again, Aunna shrugged mildly to herself and returned her attention to her drink. If he wanted to talk, he'd just have to come to her...other than that, she knew he was watching her now, so she wouldn't be caught unawares. Not unless that bloody song, or another one, came up again.

Daren watched for a couple more moments. The service droid finally brought him the drink. It wasn’t anything hard, it was simply a sweet local drink he had grown fond of. He sipped it silently and started to scan the rest of the room. He noticed republic and sith troops sitting around drinking and laughing. He was surprised to see some of them were actually sitting together. He glanced up to the mirror again and caught her looking at him. He chuckled and took a sip, she had spotted him. Well that is of no matter he could use that to his advantage. The service droid refilled his drink and Daren gave him a small tip. The droid thanked him in it’s metallic voice and then rolled away. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes meditating. The force was drawling him to her and he decided to not resist it any longer. His master had warned him before he left, his master had spoken in a strange tone so Daren would watch his step. Daren took his drink and walked over to her table. She looked up at him as he approached and he smiled and addressed her, “Mind if I join you? It’s been a while since I’ve found anyone to talk to on this ro..well lack of rock.” Daren said with a small smile still on his face.

Aunna looked up at the voice, an eyebrow raising slightly, as her blue eyes fell upon the man who had been watching her before. Raising her other eyebrow, the young woman found herself subconsciously mimicking the re-breather masked man she'd seen in her vision, offering him a seat across from her. The blue eyed beauty wouldn't know that what she'd seen had been a vision...not for at least ten years...but it had happened none the less. Unknowing, and unfazed, by the fact that she had had a vision of the future, the Corellian officer watched the younger man curiously. He seemed oddly familiar, and yet, there was something...insidious...about him.
Have a seat...I could use some conversation I suppose.
She stated simply, putting on a well practiced smile and polite tone. It was something that came with being a noble...even a minor one...you got good at faking a happy disposition. Aunna was one of the best...second only to Jade, her brother....and perhaps the royal family themselves. She was, however, far from what one would call 'pleased' by her new company. Not only was she wary of him, rightfully so considering he'd been watching her, but she also got the same feeling she had when around jedi...only darker. She didn't like it....it made her uncomfortable. This didn't show on her face, or in her posture, however, and it hardly could be seen in her large blue eyes, but to a force user it would be rather obvious.

Daren could instantly sense how uneasy she was and he didn’t like it. He noticed how hard she was trying to conceal this fact and most people probably wouldn’t have even noticed. He took to his seat and got comfortable, “Thank you, as I said I don’t get the chance to speak to many people. Tell me what brings you out to this middle of nowhere? Daren looked around to the rest of the people, “Most of the time it’s business nobody comes here for any other reason.” Daren chuckled, “Plus you’re a Republic soldier right? I can tell from your uniform.” Daren leaned in close and whispered, “The Selkath are trying to cheat you.” He looked around the room as if he expected someone to pop out and grab him taking him into an alley and kill him. He then turned back to her and looked at her, “The Sith are trying to make a deal with them and they are close to excepting it.” Daren had learned well from his master on how to create an illusion. He liked her and he didn’t like playing with her mind but he had to get her to trust him before anything else. He had to think of a way to get rid of her uneasiness.

Aunna watched him take a seat and she relaxed slightly, but not enough to be unable to respond to a threat should he prove to be one. At his words, she raised an eyebrow and chuckled slightly before shaking her head.
Tell me something I don't know.
She stated, taking another sip of her drink. Her actions were measured, but despite all the rigidness that the military could bring, her movements were not without a certain grace and fluidity.
You seem concerned enough, but may I ask why? Unless you're a kolto trader, or have some influence with them, I doubt there's little you could do to help me with such a thing. Also, if I may cut straight to the chase....why were you following me? I know you were watching me earlier today...outside the base...and again in here. Is there something particular you want, or are you just trying to find a pretty face?
She wasn't one to mince words, that much was certain now. While her tone wasn't unkind, she made it quite clear that she hadn't liked being followed or watched in such a manner. There were boundaries one just didn't cross with her, and those were some of them.

Daren smiled and shrugged,
“I don’t deal in Kolto but you seem to be correct in your other assumptions. You are a pretty face but that is not my only reason for following you. As I said before there aren’t many people to talk to around here. Plus I am a man of particular talents I might be able to assist you with the problem. If it persists that is.” Daren took a sip of his drink, his motions were rougher of a man who had seen many battles. He was young but already battle tested, he was also quite talented in the art of persuasion his master was even better.
“Also I just had a feeling, I get them time to time that you were someone worth watching.” Daren said with a complementary tone. He relaxed into his seat and sat back, she wasn’t being angry with him even though of what she accused him of doing. But couldn’t help to add,
“I do apologize for watching you earlier but it was necessary, if no one ever watched someone how could you ever meet new people?” Daren looked around the hive of scum and sighed. He really hated this planet he hoped Aun was what the force was telling him. He needed the excitement and someone else to be with besides his master.

The young woman listened quietly to what he had to say. It all seemed to ring true, but there was something more to it that just sort of...put her on edge. For now, however, she put it from mind. He was rather good looking and he wasn't hurting anyone, so what harm was there in talking to him? She chuckled slightly at his last statement and shook her head.
I suppose you're right about that last part. As for the Selkath...hmph...well, I can be rather persuasive if I need to be, I'm not too particularly worried.
She said with a mischievous smile as she brushed some hair out of her eyes.
What's your name, anyway? I'm Aunna.
There was no need for last names right now, and she didn't particularly feel like giving hers out. Her family wasn't well known throughout the galaxy, perhaps, but it was fairly well known amongst those who had visited Corellia...and she didn't want to risk him knowing her lineage, it just didn't seem like a good idea right now. Either way, she held out a hand for him to shake, a proverbial olive branch.

Daren smirked and returned the handshake, “My name is Daren, pleased to meet you Aunna.” he released her hand and fluently returned it to his side. His lightsaber moved a little and he stopped smiling. He adjusted the holster and looked back up to her, “Yes I do believe you are quite capable of handling the problem yourself, but if you need any assistance I’m not hard to find.” he looked around the bar and shrugged, “It’s a small world.” He took another sip of his drink and collected his thoughts, “Where you planning on staying here long? I know some better places then this to talk.” He looked around to signify that people could be listening to everything they said. Daren had been on the run a short time but he had easily discovered that talking publicly even about the simplest of things were dangerous. He looked towards her again waiting for her reply.

Aunna snickered slightly at his comments. Paranoid much? she thought to herself as she too looked around quietly and reclined slightly. It was then that the droid brought her food and Aunna smirked at the man across from her. Perhaps that answered his question?
Long enough to eat something, yes. Anything besides military food is welcome at this point, so forgive me if I'm not jumping to follow you.
With that she quietly started eating her food, seeming to pay the man across from her no mind. To be honest, she didn't care much if he stayed or left...at least not enough to leave her food. She'd waited quite a while for it and now she had it, she was happy enough to forgo conversation for it.

Daren smiled and called the droid over to refill his drink. It handed it back and he watched her eat. She came from a wealthy family he could tell by how she ate. She was very anxious to eat it but still her posture and technique indicated royalty. He started scanning her looking for any clues from where she had been but he found none. The Republic’s uniforms were generally the same even during his time as a Jedi he didn’t learn the difference looking back he wish he had. He stopped scouring her and just asked, “Where are you stationed? The core worlds?” His father is in the military and her uniform looked extremely similar to hers. He wondered if she was also from Corellia or if it was just coincidence. He hoped not if she found out who he was his father would be all over here trying to find him. The Jedi were already trying to hunt him down the last thing he needed was the entire Corellian navy on his trail too. He had to stay with her now and figure out who she was stationed with. He tried to look into her mind but it was clouded. He drank his sweet drink and just waited to see if she would answer him. She was being very careful with her words already he didn’t want to raise an suspicion.

Aunna looked at him after his question, her fork hovering above the plate slightly as she blinked at him. She'd felt that slight prying motion and had devoted her attention to her food single-mindedly so that whoever it was wouldn't be able to get much information from her, but his question had snapped her out of that. Tilting her head to the side slightly, she ran a hand through her hair before pulling it around to the side of her and over one shoulder.
Um....sometimes, yes....why?
It wasn't entirely a lie, and so it was the best answer she could come up with. Either way, she focused once more on that song from earlier, trying to pick it apart, finding something, anything, to focus her whole mind on so that whoever had been prying around in her mind couldn't detect anything, her mental barriers strengthening themselves as she did so.

Daren shrugged,
“Just trying to make conversation really.” He looked around and continued to drink. The clouds of her mind had now become a brick wall blocking anyone from entering. All he could get was music, he started to feel around the room in the force. He expanded his mind across the room and then through the city and into space and beyond. He traveled through time and space in an instant, years of travel went by in his head and then onto one spot. A transport ship heading towards this planet, a premonition? Perhaps, he would speak of it later with his master. For now he would remain here, “I’m sorry if I have been prying into your personal life, it’s just there isn’t much to talk about her except Kolto and honestly if I have another conversation about it my brain is likely to become a gooey substance that the Selkath might not even find appetizing.” Daren chuckled and took another sip of his drink, he didn’t want to leave…

Aunna laughed at that last comment, putting down her fork and making sure that she was still presentable. It wouldn't do to have accidentally gotten food on her uniform. For Aunna this was simply habit, she was a remarkably clean eater even with the most messy of meals, a thing she prided herself on at times, and today was no different.
That's alright. I'm just a cautious person and today's been...odd...for me anyway. Sorry, then, if I seem a bit distant. As for how long I'm planning on staying...well...only as long as it takes the selkath to decide our offer is better than the sith's. Who knows how long that will be though. What about you? If you hate this place so much, why not just leave?
She asked, paying the droid for her food as it returned.
If you have someplace to go, then let's do that I suppose. I've nothing better to do right now.

Daren nodded and stood up showing her the way out. He spoke as he walked through the city, “I have a room in a hotel, that you could borrow for the night if you need be. I do hate this place, but my boss and I have business to take care of here. So I must stay until the Selkath make their decision as well. He represent several companies that have interest in Kolto sales. I am his bodyguard, so if I have to stay in his room he won’t think anything of it.” Daren paused then laughed, “I forgot to mention that we represent Republic based interests…part of the reason I offered my services.” Daren smiled and looked over the city as dusk was approaching, “This city as boring as it maybe…has some magnificent views.” He looked to her, she glowed in the dimming light of the day. He walked to the ramp where he had first saw her and looked in to the dark blue abyss below. There was something foul in those waters some ancient evil that should not be disturbed. Yet it had been at least twice before. He looked back up to her and regained his composure.

As she walked with him and listened, she found herself distracted by the surroundings in the oddest of ways. A sign above a shop, a back alley, a pool of deep shadows, a strange half building practically hidden from sight. Shaking her head slightly, she returned her attention to the man, Daren, beside her and his story. As they paused at a ramp overlooking both the city and the vast oceans below, Aunna leaned lightly against the railings and breathed in the salty scent of the ocean deeply. If only there was some land on this world, an actual beach...she'd not been to an actual beach in some time...she couldn't even remember when the last time was.
Yes, it does. Not as many as Corellia or Naboo, but it does. The water in the sunlight makes it peaceful here at the edges of it anyway.
She mused quietly before turning and leaning her back against the railing and looking out across the city itself.
Thank you for the offer, but I have my own room in the Republic Base for the week.
She chuckled a bit then, finally realizing just why he might be tired of talking about kolto.
I sympathize, however. I can understand why you would be tired of talking about kolto in a business like that. I can imagine I would be tired of it too if I had that sort of job.
Aunna paused to think for a few moments, pondering her strange feelings of foreboding she was getting from the city. It wasn't quite deja vous, but it wasn't as if she felt like she'd never been here before either...even though she hadn't. Furrowing her brows, Aunna glanced over at the man beside her for a moment.
Have you ever gotten the feeling that you'll return to a place and have something...important...happen to you? I mean...how should I explain this....
The brunette wracked her mind for the best way to state what she was feeling, the best way to ask her question, but it just wasn't working out.

Daren’s eyebrow rose and he changed his posture so he was facing her fully, “Military housing? If that’s what you want.” Daren said with a chuckle, “When I was traveling around I never wanted to stay in those places, or any place really. I wanted to explore.” he shrugged and completely ignored her comment on Kolto and thought about what she said she had felt for a minute, “Like a premonition? Yes I have those feelings.” She had started to give away facts of herself without even knowing it. She was either from Corellia or Naboo, this Daren could safely assume. Even if being in the military and seeing as many worlds as she did. The fact that she mentioned these two made it likely that she was from one of them. Secondly she might have some force potential if she was able to have premonitions. She was blocking him from entering her mind, this combined with this new devolvement made her very dangerous. Daren watched her closely and felt the ship he had seen in his own premonition grow closer. His lightsaber almost sprung from his hand from the shock of terror he felt, was their a Jedi aboard this ship? Daren didn’t know but he didn’t want to let Aun out of his sight. That he was sure of. He also felt that she had a part to do with what was going on. Either big or small and he wanted to make sure she wouldn’t be a problem. If she became one she would pay dearly for betraying him, and his master would make sure that he paid if Daren failed to see through her treachery. He didn’t suspect her of anything yet but he was going to keep an eye on her.

Aunna blinked at the fact that he called it a premonition. Really now? Her? Have a premonition? That was laughable....but....what she had seen in the hanger, then the bar? Aunna chuckled and shook her head to clear it of such silly thoughts.
I don't know about all of that...I was tested for midichlorians, sure, and supposedly I have some....but not enough for the jedi to even take notice of me. Why, then, would I have the ability to have any kind of premonition?
She asked, a bit of sarcasm slipping into her voice. As much as she might have liked to have been a jedi, it just wasn't meant to be. What little talent she had went into piloting and singing...that was about it.
...Besides...I'm not sure I'd call it a premonition....just a very odd feeling. Almost like déjà vous....only backwards.
Aunna chuckled slightly at the thought and shook her head again. Really, what an odd thing to think of....déjà vous but backwards! That was how it felt though...and the man she'd seen...Furrowing her brows lightly, Aunna gazed at a spot on the ground and sighed. Why did he seem so important?! She then decided that this was going to drive her crazy if she kept thinking about it, so she needed to get her mind off of it.
So...if you've been here for a while, you know any other places around that might be interesting?
She asked, looking at him again.
