Well folks its around that time for one of our honored staff to take a step down and have some well deserved rest. This time it is Dire Wolf who modded the Military section. Luckily for us, he is not leaving, and will continue to grace us with his presence. Of course with his resignation, there must also be one to replace him. So now we shall recognize Rugs, who while relatively new, has put in tremendous effort since day one. His attitude and hard work have made him a stand out candidate. So please join me in congratulating him and wishing him good luck in his new position.

Hello again, dear SWU members! Meira here with another nifty announcement! This one concerns those rotten scoundrels in the Sith Order!


As I'm sure you all have noticed, Darth Paxis, one of our two Dark Overlords has gone the way of inactivity some time ago. Let it be known that the character is now considered an NPC and is currently "recruiting worlds to the cause" in a shadowy behind-the-scenes sort of way.

Unfortunately, the other Dark Overlord, Darth Iniquitous (Alpha's character) is also going to be recatagorized as an NPC, as will Darth Veratos (a character of long absent JK).

Now don't you fret. Iniquitous and Veratos, as far as the galaxy is concerned, are merely off on a quest to find a very dark, mysterious power.

But who will lead the legions of darkness? That question is easily answered. Iniquitous is leaving the main power and functioning of the Sith Order in the capable hands of three Darths: Renata (my own character), Novus (Neology), and Eurachis (Necrofear).

Now, in order to handle the evergrowing Sith Order, is has been decided by the powers that be that these three characters will head different sections of operation. Namely:

Eurachis will be in charge of military efforts and movements

Novus will be in charge of higher ranked characters within the Order

Renata will head up new recruits

There will, of course, come times within the plot that these roles might change slightly or combine, but in general, this will be the structure of the Sith Order. If you have specific questions about these respective sections, or anything Sith related in general, feel free to PM Necrofear, Neology, or myself.

Also, be sure to keep up to date with the Main events and plot sections, as we'll be moving into some pretty awesome RPing very soon and I'd hate for anyone to miss out.

Alright time for another friendly announcement. Well its good news all around as we have two new additions to staff and another person taking on more responsibility. Firstly, Arheim who has been with us for quite some time has officially taken over Delta's position as Tech Mod. He has the power to approve technology due to his continued dedication to the section. Next, we have two new additions to the NG family, Twysper and Falconion. Both who have been helpful and friendly since they joined SWU. So please join me in congratulating all three of them.

There are a couple bits of housekeeping to take care of along with an announcement.


Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who has so far submitted their nominations for the Awards.
However, there are a great number of you who could still put forth some nominations. I hope you all will consider doing so, as we are trying to give due respect to everyone here and their characters.
This means that I hope all of you are treating the Awards with the utmost respect and seriousness. Yes, it is fun, but it is also a time where you can give some credit where it is deserved. Please vote with that in mind and not let any OCC/off-forum matters sway you.

Just a reminder: The nomination stage will close on January 31st, with the tallies made on Feb. 1st and the voting stage to begin shortly after.
Also, please follow the rules; they help immensely with keeping everything organized.




Secondly, an addition to our usual 'of the month' voting we have here. In about a week, when TOTM and MOTM will start anew, there will be a third one, COTM -- Character of the Month. This will give you about a week to start thinking about your votes.

Basically, COTM will work just like the other two, with you picking whichever character you think was most influential during the month of voting (which will be for January for the pilot thread).
For now it will be a generic character voting, but there will be room in the future perhaps for expanding it to more specific characters.

As many of you may know I've been largely absent to this site for a good time indeed I stopped rping several months ago and since then I'm basically ignored my duties, well today that ends. I'm stepping down as admin of SWURP2 I appreciate the support I've had from the membership and hope that you'll all continue having a great time playing in this largely wonderful environment.

Hold on to your lightsabers folks, there’s another long Jenno post below.

Well, I’ve stayed away from the realms of red for a little while, almost four months in fact, but now it seems like I’m going to be coming back. I’m sure all of you are aware that Zarkan recently stepped down, which has left the space of Head Admin open, as well as opening up a spot amongst the three admins.

I know a number of people were wondering, guessing, giving their opinion on who they thought should join the ranks of admin as I had been in the same position as they were. So, when Meira and Jace approached me about taking up the position of Head Admin again I was a bit uncertain, I had just faced a busy month where I would have had little time for SWU and being aware of how much time the role of admin actually consumed didn’t help. However, the admins pointed out that when I was Head Admin I did not have two other admins really around at the same time.

Now, Meira and Jace are busy people, as you may have noticed as of late with their time being consumed elsewhere, but I’m hoping things can be set back on track. I believe that SWU has frozen to some degree, with Zark’s wordless absence they were at a loss for what to do in regards to decisions and such. Hopefully this means that the backlog of suggestions and ideas that have been forward and liked can be discussed once more and actually brought about. Not only this but there are a number of things I wish to do in order to try and get us back on track again.

You can more than likely expect a number of announcements in the next few weeks as we try to crack on with some of this work. It will not be quick and easy but we’re most certainly prepared to really focus upon the betterment of SWU for all of us.

And finally, I’ll be reverting my username from ‘Alpha’ back to ‘Jenno’.

I hope we can all work together in order to bring more awesomeness to this site.

Very minor announcement:

The Fringe Section notes have been modified slightly to include several of the best application writers for the section so that all those who ACTUALLY read the notes ( I love all of you who do...for shame! on those who don't) can get a good handle on what a polished application looks like!

Here we go with the first of the admin announcements since my reinstatement.

We'll kick things off with a few promotions shall we. First of all I'd like to congratulate Dutch on his new position as moderator. He will be joining Talau as moderator of the Fringe section. Hopefully this will help to increase the flow of applications in that section. So I would like to welcome Dutch to the staffing team.

Next, two NGT promotions. As always we have kept an eye on those members who give out reviews on the character profiles, we've looked at the style and content they put forward and how they have improved and adapted the way in which they produce application reviews. Therefore I would like to welcome Otterling and Hax to the Next Gen Team. We look forward to watching them progress as they help to keep the site flowing smoothly. And to all of those who missed out this time, remember that we're always paying attention to those who throw out character reviews so maybe next time you'll be lucky.

Also we have two RP related announcements to do with the battles currently going on. In terms of Sub Terrel, Jace has recently posted so that the two different factions can break off and begin fighting one another. I look forward to seeing some of the clashes between the Sith and Jedi.

Rhen Var is moving along as well. I have posted part of Vreem's entrance in the battle, enough so that the relief forces can now join in the fights taking place in the Temple. Hopefully this means we're not a great distance from finishing the battle. So clash some heads together and throw more of that exiting tension and drama out there.

A brief announcement:


It has been decided, after some discussion among the staff, that we will no longer be posting roll call threads every month for you members to post in. They have lost their original intended purpose for deducing activity/inactivity among our members and characters, especially since our member base is so large now.


So if you notice that there is no roll call for the month of March (and subsequent months), this is why.


I hope you all understand why the change was made.

Hello my very dear members of SWU,

Today I have some bitter-sweet news to share with you all. As some of you might have noticed, I've been uncharacteristically absent from the site. For those of you that do not know, this is because I've recently started working full time. This is a new job that I started Monday of last week, and already, it's become fairly obvious that I will no longer have the time to spend on the site that I had before.

I have discussed this with Jenno and Jace and I've made the decision to step down as an administrator for the site. I regret that I have to, but to continue on as an admin with my limited time would only slow things down for the site, and I don't want to do that to all of you. It is my hope that by stepping down, I will be able to continue as a member of the site, doing what brought me here in the first place, and that's RP.

Even so, my time will still be quite limited and so I want to thank everyone that is in a thread with my character for their patience. I really do hope to find a system that works with my now very busy schedule.

Again, thank you all for your understanding and patience.

Some of you may have noticed the significant drop in members, this is because I have done a much more in depth sweep of our inactive zero posters which has actually taken us to below 900 members.

We may have been close to hitting the four digits but I didn't really want us to do so with a mass of inactive members who hadn't contributed tot he site at all. So since I'm ill and not up to doing much I thought I'd take on that lazy and tedious task.

Keep spreading the word and enjoy yourselves.

There's been some colour removal from SWU that you might have noticed. We've done away with the Public Relations group. It was brought in by Zarkan when he was head admin, but it's been decided that the position is not necessary as the admins and mods oversee any things that the PR group might have.

A few minor announcements:

1) Some of you may or may not have noticed, but there will be changes made to the applications of all character creation boards to include a "Personality" Section. If you already have an accepted character, not to worry...you're exempt (unless, of course, you feel like adding one. That's up to you) For all of you in Pending, I would recommend looking over the application outline for the area of your pending character(s) to see if you need to include the "Personality" section now or not (some boards, such as fringe and military already utilize "Personality" in their application).

2) Fringe Notes have been updated with more information/clarification to hopefully expedite and ease the application process. Some things that had needed clarification have been changed/modified to hopefully clear things up. Also, there is now a "Final Check List" at the very bottom of the notes to help you make sure you're on the right track for getting your character accepted. (The list is far from perfect, and only covers the more major points of the application, but hopefully it will help as well)

Looks like there's a promotion to announce.

But before that, two demotions. Whilst I've said in the past that any NGT who informs us about a departure will have their position secure, it can get a bit confusing if there are a growing number of inactive blues around. So, even if we are informed, after 6 months of not logging on, an NGT will be demoted back to a member, but PMed explaining that it is in order to keep everything up to date and if they believe they will return and be active again they will be entitled to receive the position once more. So on that note both Kay and Apillis have been returned to the position of member.

Joining the ranks of the NGT, however, is Vex who has been part of SWU for a while now and his well-informed, helpful reviews have been noted by staff. So he will be joining the ranks of the blue and we look forward to seeing him contributing even more in the days to come. Give him a warm welcome everyone.

After the ranks and ranks of you who have complained about the lack of auto refresh we now have on the cbox, we've decided to finally start experimenting. At the moment we have a chatango box up. This not a permanent change just so we can test the water with it.

Some of you may have noticed that our 'Story so far' thread has been somewhat out of date. Well you will be glad to know that it has now been updated to include most of the recent events and shall be updated on a more regular basis. Hopefully this will make it easier for new and old members alike to gain context for their character apps and RP.

Hello members of SWU,

As those of you with keen eyes may have noticed, there have been a few changes around the roleplay section of the forum. First of all, we have added in a missing region on the forum, the Expasion Region. Located between the Inner Rim and Mid Rim on the galactic map, this area had not been made upon the forum’s creation for some reason. So, Jace and I went through a list of planets and added a slew of new worlds and new backgrounds for you all to enjoy. One of the planets which was previously placed in the Inner Rim, Shili, has also been moved to its proper place in the Expansion Region. Nivek has also been moved from the Outer Rim to the Expansion Region.

The list of planets now within the Expansion Region is as follows:

But that is not all, after running through wookieepedia a little bit a few other changes were made. Kuras IV in the Outer Rim has now been changed from an Independent Planet to an Unclaimed Planet. A number of our existing planets have been moved due to some updates/changes on wookieepedia. If you’re having trouble finding Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa, you can find them in the Mid Rim and Subterrel has also been moved from Wild Space to the Outer Rim. Many of these changes of region are likely due to the introduction of The Old Republic and the canon content which is being added to the Star Wars universe because of it.

With the loss of a planet in the Wild Space section, we have used on of our member’s suggestions and added the planet of Yanibar for roleplay.

I would like to thank Jace for the time he dedicated to help me with this task as it took us a few hours to run through and implement every thing.

Dear members of SWU,

Welcome to another announcement. This one shall be fairly brief but will dictate two new colour changes on the board.

First of all we’re promoting a new Moderator, something we’ve been trying a few times for a little while. We’re hoping that this promising green-robed Jedi mod will do well in his position and help move things along at a quicker rate. I would like all of you to welcome Twysper to the ranks of the staff and to treat him with the same kind of respect you would with the rest of the staff. He’ll be helping Kellaishleya in the Jedi section, giving us two mods to look over what is currently the largest section.

Now, onto the second colour change. As those of you who have been with us a little while will probably have noticed, Neology has recently returned to us and is currently the only Roleplay Mentor who is active. Now, since we want to try and kick-start a little more activity in the Roleplay Mentoring section and can’t expect Neology to see to the place on her own, we have promoted another Roleplay Mentor. Silas will be joining the ranks of the Roleplay Mentors in order to help make sure the section is seen to and maintained.

Welcome the new colours with open arms and I’m sure we’ll be able to see their work in no time.
