Exar Kun for me....I mean he was one BAMF to begin with, and he went on living for another 4000 years+ the double bladed lightsaber originater.
My next fav would have to be Darth Maul, just the way he fought and looked....he was just an epic Badass

Because the question was favorite Sith and not most powerful Sith.
Although he's probably not my very favorite, I do rather like Sion. Maybe it was his interactions with the Exile. Shoulda got more scenes with that guy...

1) Darth Traya, there have plenty of "uber Sith" who "pwned the Jedi" or possessed "super duper powerz", so much so it's sorta' cliche to me. But none have masterminded so much manipulated destruction without having to resort to full scale war, only she had. Even more artfully, she did not see to the destruction or elimination of the Jedi through simple martial might - she struck at them by destroying their very foundation itself. There Code, it was beautiful. Perfect exclamations of this is the KotOR2 Rebuilt Jedi Enclave scene: Light side: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EtByaOxiwE Dark side: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VvS5MLnG0Y (Fully restored content as it was originally meant to be) 2) Darth Revan, the only one to come closest to the apex of the level of manipulation that Kreia did. Sadly before he could touch upon it, his mind was destroyed. 3) Darth Bane, what can I say, he is canonically the Sith'ari and brought down the Brotherhood of Darkness and instituted the Rule of Two. An idea given to him after discovering Darth Revan's holocron. 4) Darth Sidious, classic, only other Sith that comes close to Kreia's level of manipulation, and accomplish what so many other Sith have failed to do - utterly eliminate the Jedi and put an end to the Republic. And also, is the one to give me the ideal what a Sith should be. 5) Darth Vader... before the prequels revealed him to be a whiny, annoying teenage dork.

I'll give a quick runthrough of all of the sith I am aware of.
Darth Sidious: Your classic cranky old geezer. Wasn't really..even remotely cool. HATE
Darth Vader: He was badass until you figure out he used to be a pansy. HATE
Starkiller: Pretty cool until he began being a good guy. Seriously preferred killing Vader at the end. LIKE
Darth Maul: Yes. Yes. And yes. The greatest Sith lord in all of the movies. LOVE
Darth Tyranous [Dooku]: Didn't like him. He was as cranky and creepy as Sidious. HATE
Darth Malak: Pretty cool, I guess. Some part of him just made you want to cut off his head though. LIKE
Darth Revan: What's there not to like? He was the strongest, the coolest, and the most dark-side-influent [Assuming you chose the dark side ending.] in the universe. Personally my favorite sith of all time. LOVE
Darth Nihilus: Pretty cool. Not enough detail on him though to actually like him or not though, so I base my opinion off of how much I already know. LIKE
Darth Sion: Epic badass human with cracked skin, red eyes, and an epic Irish accent? My kinda guy. LOVE
Darth Traya: MY GOD, WHAT A FREAKING NAG. That lady is like my grandma, I swear to god. I'm glad she died. She's like the Old Republic version of Sidious, I think, except she didn't know the formula for good star wars dialogue ["Something something something darkside. Something something something.. complete [From Family Guy.]]. HATE.
Uthar: I loved him. LOVE
Bastilla: Pretty cool when she wasn't nagging you to stay on the light side. LIKE
There aren't many more sith that are actually around long enough for you to have any real opinion on them.

#1 - Darth Revan Lets forget for a moment that he wasn't necessarily a true dark-sider and was ultimately out to protect the galaxy from a greater threat. Here we have a Sith Lord who nearly conquered the galaxy and didn't aim to simply destroy everything in his path, but to do only what was absolutely necessary to create a strong and united empire. He was a great general, a cunning schemer and a capable warrior.
#2 - Darth Sideous Palpatine features on my list for obvious reasons: he manages to become supreme ruler of the galaxy through political machinations and manipulation of both the Jedi and the Seperatists. He gets the chosen one to annihalate the Jedi for him and is generally brilliant. The only reason he's not top of the list is this, he is fantastic in his schemes to become Emperor, but then resorts to Strong-in-the-arm tactics to try and maintain order in his new Empire and having worked sop hard to be welcomed as Emperor, turns public opinion against himself.
#3 - Darth Sion Achieves far less than the other two but to be so brutally injured and yet be held together through his hatred and command of the dark-side makes him the quintisential Sith warrior for me. That and I love his voice in Kotor 2.
Favourite Line: "Are you threatening me master Jedi?" *kills two Jedi in the blink of an eye*

1) Darth Traya = Who cares how old and haggity you are, if you can influence a guy who can WOUND the force, a guy who literally CANNOT die because he has so much anger and Dark Side in him, and a guy who is nothing but armor, mask and lightsaber / Dark Side itself (and teach said BA to "eat" entire planets) those other things are like... well, nothing! Not to mention cause a war, train Revan into that total BA he became, and start up an academy to unite all the Siths under one banner. And when she dies she sees the friggin future: the one from the movies. How much more BA can one Sith get?
And some people don't like 'em and he's a pretty missed guy but: Dooku. Dooku was said to be one of the few that could outclass Mace with a lightsaber. (Getting defeated by the whiny teenage Vader is moot, that guy was the Chosen One, it had to happen). AND he had Force Lightning and some pretty shweet force skill. Not to mention one of the sickest lightsaber hilts I have EVER seen.

I would Definatly agree. He is most probably the only sith lord to ever attempt to re-claim the rank. Never mind attempt, he delivered the goods. He was so cool anyway, fighting all the Dark Jedi, and Jedi. He was no ones slave.

Well here goes nothing. Vader tops the list because he is penultamate of what it means to be I would say action sith or apprentice, Then I would say Palpatine not so much because he is particulary amazing but I truly hate him. When a character does that it sets up for a better hero. Watch Ep III again and see his manipulation is more subtle than oil on water. After that I woul have to go Maul/Revan/Exar Kun/ Caedus/ Thrawn(Yeah I know he is not sith but he just rocks)/Bane/Lumyra/Krayt and I am sure there is more but it has been awhile.

1. Exar Kun - probably the best example of the nature of a character leading to his corruption that I've seen written. The idea of a thirst for knowledge as the path to darkness, rather than the more typical route of power-lust or rage or revenge, was fascinating.
2. Darth Caedus - really wish they would have gone with Darth Paxis, though - a far more fitting name given his motivations and goals, imho. Nevertheless, Jacen is probably the best example of the nurturing of a character leading to his fall - the messiah complex of being raised as a Solo, first of a new generation of Jedi and chosen apprentice to the Founder of the new Order, survivor of constant wars and mind-shattering torture... you literally had to see it coming, I never did.
3. Darth Sideous - Specifically due to his speech announcing the creating of the Galactic Empire where it presented a really good example that, to the Sith, being Sith might not be evil. It just sort of clicked that Sideous may have wanted peace and order as much as the Jedi (at least at one point) but that he felt that to achieve it he needed control, whereas the Jedi just sort of ran around trying to stop problems after they occurred. That, along with revelations in Outbound Flight and Survivor's Quest indicating that Palpatine may have been trying to establish the Empire (at least in part) because he knew about the threat of the Vong and was trying to prepare the galaxy to repel them makes him a far more interesting and compelling character than the generic 'evil emperor' or 'super cool bad@ss' in my opinion
4. Darth Tyrannus - I have never seen a better argument for how good men become evil Sith than in the Dooku comic where he's talking with Quinlan Vos and it's explained that as the protectors of peace and justice one has to turn against the unjust, corrupted Republic and elitist Jedi Order. As you can see in the list above, I really like when one can understand why a character becomes evil, and this one fit the bill.
5. Darth Nihilus - Is there a better character to serve as a metaphor of the Dark Side? Wonderfully evil concept!
