Darth Devious, born by the name of Lenden Zar, saw his first days of live in the planet Utapau. Many people might cite the joke of the doctor and the ugly baby; this was indeed true, but then again there is not a single good looking Pau’an, at least by human standards. Socially Lenden was very well accepted, and more than that, expected. He was the only son of the Zar Family, an extremely wealthy business family in the planet. His family’s financial standing was not the source of rejoice though. The Zort family, an equally wealthy family ruled most of the business and trade side by side with the Zar family. However, an agreement had been made that the first born child, whether from the Zar or Zort would assume control of both family business for as long as he lived in order to strengthen the economy as well as the social standing between the two families.
Although assassination was definitely a thought within the Zort family, it was not an accepted solution, not even in this situation. However they needed to rid themselves of such pest. Thus by the time Lenden was three, the Zort family orchestrated a plan. There was a human male who had been stranded on the planet. The man had taken shelter within the Zort quarters. The Zort family then made a deal with the man. He was to impersonate a Jedi, and fake that Lenden was a force sensitive and that it was his duty to take him to Coruscant for training thus rendering the kid unable to take on the family’s business. The human male was in fact a smuggler. In return, the Zort family would repair his ship and gift him a considerable sum of money.
There are things money just can’t buy. However this did not seem to be one of them. The smuggler was more than glad to accept such deal and thus dressed himself as a Jedi and performed the task that was expected of him. Lenden’s family although reluctant did not have much choice but to abide. This meant that the Zort’s family upcoming male offspring would be the ruler.
After taking off the planet the smuggler went on to do whatever he pleased, and a child was not within his plans; he wasn’t even married yet. Anyways, the smuggler sold the Pau’an baby to slave trader at Tatooine who was mesmerized with such an exotic creature. However, to the slave trader’s disappointment the child would be a tough one to sell due to its horrendous appereance. No one would buy such an ugly child. However, the trader needed to make money one way or another. Thus as the child slept he disfigured his face to further his monstrous look and showcase this abomination to tourists willing to pay for it. And people indeed pay quite the amount of money to see Lenden; a tall, horrendous, and disfigured 3 year old Pau’an with gray skin and red eye sockets. It spelt out money.
It was not until one night after Lenden’s fourth birthday that his life would take a drastic turn. It was rather late; no new customers would show up around this time, not even to buy slaves. However, from within his tiny cell, Lenden observed a drunken man debating with a twilight slave. After much disagreement the man beheaded the Twi’lek with his lightsaber. Although far away, Lenden could see the red flare reflecting in his face through the darkness of the night. The human male then went on a rampage assassinating everyone in his way, slave or not until he came upon the slave trader. As the man readied his lightsaber he suddenly stopped. Slowly the man turned towards the Pau’an child imprisoned in a cage behind him. Then, in a swift move, he killed the slave trader, and pulled the child out of his cage knocking him unconscious and taking him with him.
Upon Dawn

Surprisingly enough Lenden was not shocked or scared by the previous events. He had suffered so much already he really would not mind being put out of his misery. However, the man had very different plans. After what seemed days of travel, both individuals reached the man’s home; an underwater cave at a lake in Dantooine. The man, Marcus, was revealed to be a Dark Jedi. He then proposed that Lenden became his apprentice. It wasn’t much of a proposal though. First because Lenden was not old enough to decide anything and second because it was either do or die. Lenden was just happy to be alive, and regardless of the circumstance he’d do anything that would bring about hope. The first words spoken by his new master would resonate in his mind forever; Devious. Lenden was no more. Cast away. His new name was Devious. At this point in time the child did not know the meaning of such word and neither did he care to learn about it. Before any type of training or teachings may commence, Marcus decided it would be best for Devious to heal his injuries…or abomination-like features, whichever appealed more. This was done not out of kindness but instead because good presence would go well with his name. However that was not attained. Although medical treatment indeed repaired much of the physical trauma Devious had received, he was still an ugly kid. But then again he was always ugly to begin with so that was not much of a concern.
During the first year Marcus refrained from teaching much to Devious. In fact, it all consisted of simple mind games related to the force in order to draw out and test his potential. In doing so every now and then Marcus would utilize clever strategies to bring the child closer and closer to the Dark Side. In one of his lectures, Marcus taught Devious about the concept of a lightsaber. He instructed him not to construct one because to do so would mean being bound to it, and by Marcus words such feat should only be done when one’s power is unmatched and thus worthy of wielding a weapon of equal strength. Thus all combat simulations that were to be in the future years would have to be done with sabers built by Marcus himself.
To avoid misconceptions, before starting official training at the age of five, Marcus made something very clear to Devious. He was a lightsaber combat master, not an adept force user. Thus all the teaching he would receive from his master would be solely lightsaber combat and nothing regarding force powers aside from the basic concepts.
At the age of five, Marcus built Devious first training saber. How did was done was way beyond Devious’ understanding, perhaps he kept a pouch of some short with the materials required. As expected the first form taught to the boy was Shii-cho. Although the boy’s built seemed a bit weak and fragile, his movements with a lightsaber flowed like a gentle and smooth water stream. His learning pace was too way beyond normal; any teacher would be mesmerized at the speed at which Devious was learning. However, not his master. Marcus would constantly punish him due to his lack of focus and his grotesquely feeble and slow learning; perhaps just as a way to instigate Devious and cause him to put forth more effort than he already gave.
As Devious grew, Marcus was afraid of making the child too soft; the boy was in fact the first student he had ever had. Thus in order to ensure a close bond between Devious and the dark side of the force, Marcus took a number of cruel but needed measures. Every once in a while, or in fact, whenever Marcus felt like it, he would take Devious out with him to the city. Devious’ face would be covered at all times though, no need to scare the people off. Once there, Marcus would make the boy look at other kids his age walk by with their parents. Through the years Marcus had elaborated a scheme. Due to Devious’ looks, not even his parents wanted him. He was left to rot like garbage in space, or so Marcus told him. His master reiterated it was but the will of the force he was still alive. In Marcus’s words, Devious was but an accident on whim of the force; Devious was an embodiment of the force. He taught the kid not to feel remorse for his actions. The rest were but mere pawns living useless lives in a world ruled by those who possessed strength. People only lived seeking someone to rule their lives, to ease up their responsibilities and pressures. Someone strong. And as Marcus said, that someone was Devious.
By the age of ten, Devious had grown more than most boys his age, both in combat, as well as in his mind. Although still struggling to learn Shii-cho the boy was definitely ahead. His view about his master had also changed drastically. He now saw him, as a half master half father he ought to respect in order to grow stronger…also as a figure he should be weary of since he always needed to be on the lookout due to Marcus’s unusual and harsh training methods. After a long day of training, Marcus informed Devious that the following day they would be going to the surface. It was a rare occasion indeed. His master usually did so in order to obtain food and other goods, but Devious rarely ever left.
The following morning Devious was up, excited and ready. For his first time out in a long time in the wilderness alongside his respected master to have a really good..no. Marcus had other plans. As he explained, there was much more to a Dark Jedi than a lightsaber. One needed to know how to survive in different locations and attune to the environment. From that point on, Marcus and Devious frequently went out. These trips entailed detailed lessons on how to scout, track and hunt animals. Then one morning, Marcus suddenly handed a vibroblade to Devious. The boy was instructed with something he did not see coming. Marcus had captured and prepared a Kath Hound; it was ahead and waiting for them. Devious’ task was to kill it. Easy enough…not so. The hound did not leap at the sight of Devious, perhaps due to its fairly calm nature. However, it was fairly unsettled, but then again who wouldn’t be after being kidnapped by some weird specie. As soon as Devious readied his vibroblade the Hound prepared for battle. The animal leaped to the boy, and Devious, afraid, refrained from attacking and instead opted to dodge the attack resulting in a minor wound from the Hound’s claws. Stumbling upon himself the boy found himself lying on the floor with the beast leaping towards him about to land the final blow. Devious then felt his vibroblade push back, as it impaled the body of the hound stealing the life out of it.
Disappointed with his performance, Marcus took Devious, and they both returned without crossing words. After a long and tedious lecture, Marcus explained how lightsaber combat will not save him every time and thus he needed to learn how to defend himself when faced without a lightsaber in his possession. Right after it, Marcus told Devious that if he surpassed his next task he would go to bed without a punishment. Marcus threw away his lightsaber and handed the vibroblade once more to devious. At Marcus request they both initiated combat and within seconds the vibroblade was yards from Devious while the boy was beat by Marcus for what seemed an eternity. From that day on, both Teräs Käsi, which Marcus was very proficient on, and lightsaber combat would establish the foundation for his training.
As time went by and training intensified, not only was did the power if Devious increased but also did his hatred for his master. The repeated punishments were just aggravating, even when Devious knew he performed at the best of his capabilities. In order to test whether the boy was learning or not Devious arranged experimental tests for the boy. Marcus, a lover of life’s fun, often liked to have drinks at the cantina within the city. As night raged on, he would make his drunken drinking companions mad at Grievous and instigate a fight. The boy knew he would better win or his injuries would be much worse once both master and student returned. This came to be many times since a 12 year old rarely is able to beat a grown man, sometimes even more than one, about twice his age. At the age of fourteen, Marcus believed the boy was ready to pick his own fight. Thus Marcus instructed him to go to the city and find a suitable plan to get in trouble, pick a fight, or just do something that would make his master proud. Marcus, although unwilling to lend a hand, followed the boy and kept a close look to inspect the situation himself. As Devious reached the cantina he noticed something different. The place that was usually filled with drunken galactic scum making trades and doing illicit businesses was a bit…changed. There was a man in the center of the room he had never seen before. The boy was sure this was a tourist since the clothing he wore was far too expensive for most people in the planet to afford. The situation felt good, or so Devious thought. Everyone was happy; everyone smiled. It was a feeling Devious had come to learn from his time in the city. There were to type of smiles and happiness. One was the natural and original smile, which comes from true happiness; a feeling long forgotten in a galaxy plagued by many horrors. And then, there was this happiness. The happiness brought by those with power and money. There was something about it; it always made people smile and be nice to whoever possessed it. Suddenly, Devious returned to his himself, he sensed his master nearby. He had a task to do or he’d be severely punished. However, the boy wanted to avoid a fight and injuries as much as he could. The boy decided to steal some money from the rich fellow in the room. Devious blended well with everyone by sporting the fake smile everyone was so adept at. After he sat somewhere close to the man, he attempted to do the same thing everyone else did; fake as if they listened but look at his clothing and wonder how many credits he’d be willing to lend to a friend. After walking in circles a few times, the boy got closer to the man and took a ring out of his pocket unnoticed. He then walked away slowly, reaching the door, and feeling an air of success. As Devious exited the door, a man’s voice was felt. Someone had spotted the act. The crowd was not enraged at the realization of the act itself, but instead at the fact that some kid had stolen their initiative. The rich man paid a blind eye to the situation and told the crowd to do as they pleased with the boy. Devious then took off, running or his life as fast as his body allowed him. For a second it semmed he had gotten away, but a blow to his torso denied such thought. Once in the ground, a group of man started beating him. Devious could not tell how many of them there were. The first punch he received was so brutal that his vision was impacted greatly and he could no longer see well. However, he could definitely feel the pain from the blows. The group continue to beat on the boy for a long time which seemed as an iternity to him. From afar Devious spotted his master, whom he thought would come to his aid. Indeed something moved his master. Marcus approached the group and looked at the boy. He then smiled and walked back and inside the cantina. The boy could not believe what had just happened but there was no time to think. The pain from the blows was getting stronger and stronger. Soon all light was gone and Devious was suddenly in darkness; unaware of his location. His body had left him, and his mind, his last possession also seem to drift away until there was nothing more but an empty hole of nothingness. The boy then awoke wrapped in bandages, being carried away by his master. In his half conscious state he saw a man, a woman, and a child, lying dead by the bed he was just picked up from. Devious refused to give any thought to the situation. It was better left unknown.
Although Devious aged fast he knew it would soon happen. His race, although practically unknown, was famous due to their extremely long lifespan. Therefore although he was reaching maturity at a quick pace, he knew sooner or later he would begin to age slowly. This was not necessarily a bad thing, but he feared his master would still view him as incompetent and immature even when his age and power had perhaps doubled. Then at the age of eighteen, as a test for his progress, another test was set up. Once again, Devious had to engage in battle with a Kath Hound…this time however, with no weapons. To both Marcus’ and Devious’ surprise, and definitely the Hound’s as well, the battle was rather quick; it did not take long for Devious to dominate the Hound and end its life effortlessly. The boy was the one disappointed this time though, as his master left with him without congratulating for his feat…as if it was a result he expected.
It was not long before Devious finally mastered Shii-Cho, and thus Marcus commenced the boy’s training in Ataru. This form would become Devious’ favored form. Sadly though, the boy was a bit shocked. He believed Shii-cho was the only lightsaber form in existence, much to his master’s mockery. To Devious surprise, he very much enjoyed this new style. Devious, now a young adult delved into this combat form with all his might. Even Marcus, the man who so denied his improvement was astonished by the rapid learning of the boy and his fighting maturity and affinity with the art. Marcus even when as far as to compliment Devious in his progress; something that was long thought impossible. The only complaint Marcus could think of, and it was regarding his past a year of training in general was the force. Devious had not been formally trained in the force yet the boy would show signs of skill and abilities in those areas, much to Marcus spite. Sometimes he feared his potential as a force user was actually stronger than his lightsaber combat power. To Marcus power laid in lightsaber combat and weakness in reliance in the force.
One night Marcus returned from a two day absence very exhausted. Devious was clearly curious as to why this was. Marcus had engaged in battle with a Jedi Master and killed him. This however was not any news for Devious; his master had always had encounters with Knights and Masters, always coming out victorious. The issue it would seem was Marcus’ age. Although he was as strong as ever, his age was starting to become an impediment. Relying on lightsaber combat resulted in a series of injuries throughout his life and psychological scars that came back to haunt him. Marcus also seemed to be suffering from some type of illness. What illness exactly was unknown; the reason being was Marcus pride. He wanted nothing to do with doctors or medicine. He welcomed his illness as a battle scar and awaited the time of his death He had lived well, or so he reiterated. Decided to take on the hobby of his master, Devious stated he would like to be a Jedi hunter, just like his master. Marcus was pleased to hear this, and although he complimented Grievous in his progress, much to his own surprise, he believed Grievous was not yet ready to take on a Jedi Master or even a fully fledged Jedi Knight. Also due to Marcus’ conditions he would no longer be able to be as active during his training and he did not have much time left to live. Thus Marcus was as clear as he could. He would teach Devious all he knew all at once. It was clear from the beginning such feat would take decades, maybe even more. It was also obvious that Marcus would not live this long. However his purpose was to teach the fundamentals of such to be-taught forms and advanced Devious as much as he could. Then when Marcus’ time came, he’d have data saved in order to be used by Devious in the future years to further his abilities and perhaps one day become able to master it. The goal was to finish Ataru and teach the art of double bladed combat. The young man was puzzled; he did not know why he needed to learn about combat with a staff. Marcus then went on to explain that life is about adapting and getting stronger. First everything one learns is never a bad thing. Second, most people used to fight with a certain weapon are at a huge disadvantage when the situation calls for the use of a different type of weapon. However, those used to battling with two are already accommodated to them as well as other types of combats with a myriad of weapons. Thus Marcus presented Devious with an electrostaff that seemed that we decades old. Although the weapon was an antique it would still serve it purpose of being a powerful training tool.
Devious training was very complicated to decipher, even for someone with years of experience. At one moment he would be engaged in harsh training, in between a myriad of acrobatic jumps, while pulling back and engaging in a series of blocking and parrying motions. Devious lightsaber abilities had increased dramatically. Now, Marcus believed it was finally his time to prove himself. At the age of twenty-eight, Devious was now ready to try his power against another force user. A contact of Marcus had told him there was a Jedi Knight on Lorrd. It seemed it was a fairly young Jedi Knight that had been entrusted a mission of finding a certain force-sensitive child in the planet and sending him to the Order. It was the perfect chance for Devious to test his potential. However, at that moment, Devious remember he did not possessed a lightsaber of his own and thus asked permission to make one. It was denied. Once more Marcus reiterated the importance and significance of a lightsaber. He was instead given Marcus’ lightsaber to use. It served as a way of respect; to kill your first Jedi with your master’s weapon. Also there was no need for Marcus to use his lightsaber anymore. He could not wield as he used to, and his diminishing abilities would only depress him. Anyways, although the lightsaber issue was taken care of, there remained yet another problem. Dantooine and Lorrd were a bit distant from each other; thus a spaceship was needed. Just then Marcus asked Devious how exactly he thought they both got there from Tatooine. After Marcus revealed the location of his ship it was all set. The ship was nothing to write home about. It was an extremely old Light Freighter that looked as if it had seen the birth of the galaxy itself. For a while Devious was more worried about the ship breaking down in space than being cut down by the Jedi’s lightsaber. Nevertheless Marcus reassured him that although weak, slow, and old, the ship should be more than enough to make the trip and back. After picking up his master’s lightsaber and getting inside the ship, Devious looked on to his master. Some might have thought that perhaps it was too soon, but once both master and student locked eyes, they knew it was time, whether it was successful or not.
When Devious landed in Lorrd he wasted no time and asked to be directed to the nearest cantina. Once there he manipulated a street chump to reveal the location of the Jedi. It is unclear why someone of the caliber of a pity thief would know such thing such as the location of a Jedi Knight. However, going back to the things Devious had learn, people are drawn to power, just as the citizens were drawn to the reach man back in the cantina back in Dantooine several years prior. It would seem the Jedi had finally discovered the location of the force sensitive baby and was planning to see him. Therefore Devious boarded his ship once again and traveled to a place where he would be able to intercept the Jedi. Just as he expected, he reached a mountain side and disembarked. There he waited, and waited until he saw in the distance a speeder approaching. As the Jedi approached he observed a tall individual looking down at the ground. Dismounting, the Jedi walked towards the man just to ignite his sky blue lightsaber after the man ignited his. The light emanating from Devious’ red lightsaber tried to overlap the sheen the blue lightsaber emitted but none would give out to each other. The Jedi rushed towards Devious prompting a sudden high jump causing Devious to land behind the Jedi. A swift backslash from Devious was met by a sudden block from the Jedi. Slowly Devious was overpowering the Jedi, but this resorted to the force by throwing a nearby rock towards Devious whom was forced to disengage from the lightsaber collision. Devious’ lightsaber combat capabilities were far superior to the Jedi, however the Jedi had had formal training in the force; at least more than what Devious had had. Thus the battle was nearly equal…none of the combatants giving up an inch. Both fighters clashed lightsaber once again. Then suddenly Devious commenced a series of spiral motions with his lightsaber resulting in the destruction of the Jedi’s saber and his bereavement. Devious then looked up and closed his eyes. After realizing he had finally done it, he retrieved the broken Jedi lightsaber as proof and returned to his master’s side.
Once he returned, his master was in bed as usual. Although deeply worried, Marcus knew Devious had succeeded; he expected it so. However there was no time for celebration. Without much wording Marcus told Devious his days were about to be over thus his training would be more difficult than it ever was until he finally passed away. And so it was. As Devious trained he felt as if he was a decade in the past. Training was once again more than his body could sustain and he needed to give it his all too even make it through the day. Training was not nobly comprised of hard work from both student and mentor but also from strange self dialogues of Marcus. Age and illness were taking a toll on him, and his mind. Marcus spoke to himself of decades past and his master and how strong he was, and how when his master died he vowed to be like him. Almost five years after his battle with the Jedi, Devious knew for a fact he was far stronger than he was back then. He could in fact not believe that he was so weak back then. Although Devious would say he had mastered all the lightsaber forms he trained on, Marcus would probably say he needed at least a couple more years before he could truly master those forms. Nevertheless they were both proud of the progress made.
One day after returning from intense training, Devious was shocked to see his master gasp for air repeatedly. Rushing to the first aid kit only made the situation stable for a while longer. Devious did not know what to do. Before he could speak, Marcus grabbed a hold of his shirt and pulled him close to him. His master’s tone was harsh and cold. His master would die, but before he departed Devious needed to know something. Marcus told his student he was proud to be called his teacher and to have been part of his development all this years. He told his student that unlike himself, Devious would be able to master lightsaber combat to a greater extent than what he was ever capable of accomplishing. Not only because Devious’ genetics allowed for much longer lifespan but also because of his attitude to learn and succeeded. Before exhaling his last breaths, Marcus entrusted his student with a secret. In the planet of Kalee, many decades ago prior to Devious’ birth, Marcus’ master had hidden certain data in the planet. The data was comprimsed not only of highly advanced studies of lightsaber combat to enhance potential but also extremely advanced and complicated force powers. Marcus then apologized for not teaching him much about the force. However, he trusted that with Devious’ long lifespan, sooner or later, one way or another he would delve into the studies of the Force and become even stronger. Anyways, the lightsaber combat information in that data were much too complicated for Marcus to understand and apply back then but he believed with his heart that Devious had the potential to learn them. Also, he told Devious that there once had been a guardian looking after such data; a peer student of Marcus under the same master. However that was a myriad of decades ago and the individual would surely be long dead by now. Marcus then smiled, placed a hand on Devious’ chest and told him never to give up. As a final request, Marcus asked Devious to kill him with his own lightsaber and then destroy it. He had a live a great life of battles and he would not die before some illness, he wanted to die by a lightsaber. Masking his emotions Devious killed him and did as he was told with the lightsaber. He then walked towards the ship, and flew to Kalee.
Upon The Unknown
Age 34-#
Once in the planet, Devious was overwhelmed by thoughts; he had different choices. He was really strong right now; he did not need more training. He could finally go on and about in the galaxy and do as he pleased. However, in the other side, something pushed him to be stronger than his master ever was…in a way to repay him for training him all these years. Admits the confusion he decided to go on with the originally intended plan, and thus he departed to the location described by his master. When he reached the place he was surprised to see a small mountain where the mentioned data was…and there wasn’t any opening or any way to get inside. Frustrated he cursed at his luck. Someone must have stolen the information. Then out of curiosity he reached closer and put his ear against the rocky wall. Devious could hear a faint sound that soon he recognized as steps. The a small portion of the wall before him then crumbled and a shadowy figure then appeared. Before Devious could speak he was attack with some sort of magic he did not know. It was white, kind of like lightning. He did not truly know at the moment whether it caused him pain or not because a few seconds after it he was enveloped in darkness and his mind had detached any bonds it might had had with his body and thus he left into the dark void of nothingness. As Devious awoke, he saw himself in a bad lighten cave. For a second he was relieved. This had all been a dream, and Marcus would be there waiting for him to start training. However, although similar the cave was not the same. Devious then suddenly darted off his bed and tried to reach for his electrostaff just to discover it was no longer there. A man then came out of the shadows. He appeared human but something did not seem right, perhaps a near human. Regardless, it was a very old man. Forcing his grip, Devious was about to attack the old man when he noticed his lightsaber desing was the same as Marcus’. Then unwillingly, Devious pronounced his master’s name. The man was shocked that this boy knew Marcus and demanded he told him how he met Marcus. After Devious explained the relationship between the late Marcus and himself, the old man accepted he had once being a peer of Marcus; they both possessed the same master. Their master he said, was one of the strongest combatants of his time, both in lightsaber combat and the force. Marcus and Zion, this man’s name, were polar opposites. Marcus took more to his master’s lightsaber abilities, becoming a great duelist himself. In the other side, Zion was more intrigued by the knowledge of the dark side his master possessed and thus delved in the studies of the force and neglected by a fair amount the study of lightsaber combat. To Marcus lightsaber abilities were the way to power. To Zion it was the other way around. When Devious told Zion of his master’s demise, Zion just reiterated his point. Lightsaber combat often requires the combatant to draw himself closer to the action, making the fighter prone to more injuries and even death. A force user, although prone to these threats as well, is much more intelligent. He needs not to be a savage beast. Through cleaver thinking and strategies he can win without posing so big of a threat for himself. This was Zion’s reasoning as of why Marcus had died and he was still alive. Also Zion was an Epicanthix so his lifespan was also slightly longer than Marcus’ human heritage. Soon after all the greetings were done, Devious went right to the point. He was there to obtain the data his master’s master had left. Zion just burst into laughter. He then reiterated that Marcus’ master had also been his. There was a reason why their master entrusted the data to Zion and not Marcus. The data was much too complex for neither Marcus nor Zion to learn, but Marcus’ personality made him…unreliable. Thus their master entrusted his findings to Zion in hope of a brighter future. Zion was not just going to hand the data so willingly to Devious. And combat was not even an option; Zion’s power was just superb…unlike anything Devious had ever seen before. After Devious explained his past training regimen, Zion burst into laughter for neglecting to learn the force and stated he would never be able to learn anything at this point. However, Devious implored Zion to take him as his student; he learned fast. Zion was very hesitant...the boy had a basic understanding of the force since it was needed for lightsaber combat. His skill with a lightsaber would be enormous due to who his teacher was. Regardless, whether he would come to regret it later or not, Zion abided with the condition that Devious followed his orders.
So Devious came to call this planet his new home and commenced training with Zion. Maybe it was just him, but even when the training was as rigourous as it could be, Devious had never experienced a feeling like this. He was learning faster than he ever did during his years of lightsaber combat. It was perhaps due to the fact that he spent so many years in lightsaber combat that he had grown accustomed to the basics of the force making his further lessons much easier to comprehend. However there was something more. Zion was the first to notice that, no matter how great Devious was with a lightsaber, his true potential laid in the force. It was just outstanding to see Devious learn concepts within weeks that usually took several months. However, Devious was no longer a boy. He just could not train and sit around waiting for the next training day to come by. And even if he would be able to do so he did not want to. A part of training was to get accustomed and acquainted with the world; something he was not very good at. Luckily, his new master, Zion, aided him in that. It would seem that decades prior, Zion was a very renowned and notorious person for being one of the best torturers…riping information out of anyone. Thus with the contacts he still had, he arranged a job opporutinity for Devious. There was a small time criminal organization in Tatooine that was growing rapidly by the day, and were in dire need of a torturer. Also due to Zion’s credentials, anyone he suggested was bound to be the real deal. However Marcus’ old ship would not have been able to make the trips. Therefore Zion suggested he sell the ship and repair the one Zion possessed; although old as well, it was in a far better condition than his previous one.
