Okay guys, since Mara said to go ahead and make the plot discussion, that what I'm doing.
Mission Name: A Ring Of Fire Planet: Eriadu Major NPC Characters: Arsonist(s)/Detective Alistair Sobrin Number of Participants: 2-4 Participants: Tem Farelle (Charlie Sharper), Alycia Zel (Kaivenchist), Sirius Kelrune (Ghostie) and Teer Ka (lmr) {slots full} Mission Requirements: Padawan level and higher. Any padawan must be accompanying their master. Whoever is in charge of the NPCs will essentially run a lot of this mission. Mission Briefing: There has been a recent string of fires upon Eriadu, in the capital of Eriadu City. Local investigations have brought about nothing but dead ends and the arsonist attacks persist. Given the number of fires, assigned lead detective Alistair Sobrin believes there are multiple culprits working in tandem with one another. As a death toll begins to hit the headlines, the local law enforcement agency has requested help from the Jedi to investigate these incidents and find those responsible for the fires.
We still need someone to run NPCs. Other than that does anyone have any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Possible culprits: anarchists, gangs, Dark Jedi?

Well it says in the mission briefing that the detective suspects multiple arsonist. So a gang could work. However, since there is four jedi I don't think one dark jedi would be much of a fight. Maybe if he had more power than most dark jedi, or if there two of them.
But then that also leaves the question as to why the arsonist, whoever they are, are committing arson in the first place. Since Eriadu is a Republic planet, the arsonist could have been hired by the sith maybe? Or someone high up in the Eriadu government owes some money to a powerful crimelord, or the government itself maybe, the economy can't be that good during the war. And that crimelord decides to get back by setting their district on fire? I'm just throwing out ideas.

Welp, I have been conned into NPC:ing this thing.
As for the culprits, that might depend on what has been burned down.
Edit: How about this. A local company, one of those responsible for the immense pollution of the atmosphere faces a conundrum. Environmentalist groups are gaining foothold in the government and seek to force the local companies to do something about their pollution, which in turn would cost them a lot of money.
So they've turned to mercenaries and bounty hunters, who have performed several works of arson upon rival factories, and are now in the process of planting evidence to implicate the local environmentalists as eco-terrorists, thereby discrediting them and driving them out of the government, and saving the company a lot of money in the long term.
Thoughts?

Thoughts? I actually like that idea Vase. Very original. Also, like we discussed, in order for the bounty hunters to be able to stand up to Jedi, they need to have things like Flamethrowers, Scatter Guns, Slugthrowers, etc. Many some of them could even be Mandalorians and have some beskar'garm. Im not saying all of them, just one or two. EDIT:

Not a bad idea, though bounty hunters would be hunting bounties rather than lighting things on fire.
Works for me.

Jenno brought up an interesting idea in the Cbox when Vase and myself were discussing this mission this morning. It would be easier for the bounty hunters, mercs, or whatever they are to try and take out the Jedi if the Jedi got split up.
So what I was thinking is that say we close in on the arsonist's safe house, and they set the building on fire. Since this is most likely in a city it'll probably be an apartment building right? Anyways, the Jedi got split up by the fire, and one group has to escape to the roof while one is able to escape to the ground, sidewalk, whatever.
I was thinking it would be intersting if the masters got split up from their apprentices, or Tem got split up with Sirius and Teer got split up with Alycia.

Of course, when the Jedi get split up, they're still being chased by the arsonist. Battle commences, and a chase scene across rooftops would be pretty awesome.

*EditEdit* lmr and Kaiven get the sewer and Tem and Sirius get the rooftops

I think for power balance we should wind up with each master being with the others padawan. This way two apprentices don't have to fight a horde of Mandalorian mercs.
EDIT:
So Teer and Alycia wind up together chasing after Mando mercs in the sewers, and Sirius and Tem wind up on the rooftops. They get ambushed by the leader and his peeps, then when they're defeated he runs off with his jetpack and they have to chase him.
Due to the sheer number of enemies involved, I suggest unnamed baddies be written by the pc interacting, and that the one or two 'big bads' in each group be written by the non-involved party so we keep it self-contained.
I also second Vase's suggestion that we craft short profiles for each bad guy we plan on NPCing. There's something to do right here. I volunteer to take one, which one is something I leave up to you guys to determine.

Okay so this is what I understand of the mission. Correct me if I'm wrong.
1) Land on Eriadu, meet with police force, investigate recent arson site.
2) Find clues, track arsonist across the city.
3) Find arsonist safe house. As we close in, arsonist set fire to the building
4) Group splits. Tem and Sirius head for the roof while Teer and Alycia hit the sewers.
5) Sirius and Tem run across the rooftops fighting mercs and arsonist. Teer and Alycia are in the sewers doing what exactly? (I suggested earlier that the arsonist try to flood the sewers, but I'm not sure what people said about that.)
6) Meet back up somewhere, maybe the Police Office? Also, we also need a plan to bring in whatever arsonist survive.
Also, I thought it would be cool if we made a thread about our Jedi on a ship above/approaching Eriadu just to get introduced to each other.

I say we start on the ship, during the approach to Eriadu so we can have introductions.
I also suggest the sewers be the site of a weapons cache or something the baddies would have an interest in hiding/protecting.

Okay, a weapons cache or something. Maybe they have a ship hidden under the city or that's where the arsonists boss is hiding? It could also be the meeting place for the arsonist employers. Just throwing ideas out.
Anyways...
Who wants to start the thread above Eriadu?

I think your leadership here entitles you to start it.
How about at the safe house, the second in command of the company behind the attacks is meeting with the Mando leader of the arsonists. He runs to the sewers while the Mando runs to the roof.

That sounds completely fine to me. BTW, where is Kaiven? DOUBLE EDIT: New dilemma. Name for the thread. Lmr helped me think of two names. You guys get to vote. Name 1) Space is Cold, Fire is Hot Name 2) Ring of Fire Let voting commence.

That's what I thought Charlie, but Lmr liked "Space is Cold, Fire is Hot" so to be fair I made a vote. Vase don't feel afraid to vote either even though you'e only NPCing. I'm confused though, I thought I'd just name it after the mission, but I also like Lmr's suggestion. I'm not going to waste much time over it though. ____________________________________________________ Lmr got me thinking when he shared a picture of what the sewers looked like, and I thought it was a good idea. Charlie, I've been looking at rooftop settings, and I found a few you might like. First, there's the classic Favela rooftops. Yes, I got this idea from playing Modern Warfare 2. (Link Here) Secondly, There's the standard city area. I'm pretty sure this picture is from Greece, but it looked like a place a Jedi could run across the rooftops of. (Link Here) Then I also found an area that was more urban looking that the last, with some taller buildings that looked more like offices to me. (Link Here). Anyways, I thought we could decide beforehand that way we don't have to come up with our own location on the spot. I also thought it could be Sunset/Nighttime and it could start raining during the chase. If any of you guys have any more ideas for setting dont feel afraid to share.

I only made the suggestion because you asked and I had a brain fart. Charlie is right.
I like the idea of night-time and rain, and I think the third picture is best for Eriadu City.
