Yes, yes, yes! Finally they are going to complete J.R.R. Tolkiens' The Lord of the Rings trilogy by making the prequel, The Hobbit, on the big screen! I found out while I was at work, I was scimming through the years release dates for all the 2012 movies we were getting and when I got to December of this year my mind was freaked! I saw that The Hobbit, produced by Warners Brothers, is coming out in mid-Dec!
I am a nerd, this I know, I'm just so excited about it! I loved the book, it was by far my favorite book growing up and still is, so I'm just really happy to find out it's going to be made into a movie and released this year!

I work at a movie theater and I just found out this yesterday?! That is so unfair. I am really glad it's coming to the movies though. Im'a buy it as it comes out on dvd AND BluRay!

Haven't thought much about the Hobbit, since all my attention for movies is focused on THE AVENGERS. Looking forward to seeing The Hobbit, but much like Sparrow, my main focus this year is The Avengers. Once I've seen The Avengers, then I'll see about getting hyped for The Hobbit  |

I guess this is where working at a theater has its perks. We get new movies a week before they actually release and me, along with the manager and other employees, watch them after closing So I guess it's a perk for serving endless amounts of popcorn and beverages |

I'm pretty sure it's just two films of the Hobbit, but with a little extra stuff mixed in. I could be wrong though.

Last I heard the whole project had been extended to a trilogy instead of two films. Not sure if it was just a rumor or if it really is concrete information. I have a tendency to stay away from news about movie and trailers, lest I implode due to sheer hype power.

Yeah, I heard the rumor, too, but a couple weeks ago I saw it had been confirmed.
It'll be a trilogy as well, with the third one apparently being a 'bridge' between Hobbit and LOTR.

Yep, I heard something about that too. And they're supposedly planning on including some parts of The Silmarillion too. All in all, sounds interesting. I'm just hoping they're not planning on altering too much from the book.
