Next order of business... where shall the main attraction take place? Could still use Boz Pity, but I'm thinking something else might work a bit better. Ideas? Lmr?

PS: I forgot about another wrinkle I had been thinking of adding to this... until I saw my PM convo about it.
I still have to confirm things with those involved, but the basic plan is that Dr Rand's employers would send someone to come and rescue him. (I've edited my previous post to include this).

So it would be...

Sobi nabs Dr Rand. Darvek nabs Ina.
Sobi interrogates Dr Rand and Ina.
Ofi goes for help of the Jedi.
Jedi and Ofi go to rescue Ina.
? Tal's Sam sent by P.F. to rescue Dr Rand. ?


Thusly, lmr and grey, you may want to come up with a couple NPCs after all, just to make things fair, when we get to that point.

Again, my deepest apologies for my absence from writing. I in no way planned on this happening. But life never is predictable.





lmr: Not sure why Dr Rand would have drives like that... But we could probably run with a case of mistaken identity, and her thinking he's lying, a valid excuse to bring in his daughter late.
I'm not sure if we ever discussed specifics anyway for why she was going after Dr Rand anyway.


Grey: Well, the basic idea, yes. ;p Though, defeat would be more like evade. It's hard to defeat Ofi. Plus, I need her to go after the Jedi later.

My post was pretty clear. She stuffed the drives into outgoing mail that was headed incidentally to the good doctor.

Yeah, I got that on my second read-through.

I went through my outbox, and it seems I had mentioned that Sobi wanted some kind of medical tech that she thought Dr Rand was working on. But this works, too. It accomplishes the same end goal.




PS: I talked to Tal again, and she's in. So whenever we get to the point of rescue, she'll bring in Sam to rescue Dr Rand. The Jedi and Ofi will still be going after Ina.

Okay, question for lmr and Grey:

How do you see these Thin Air threads ending? With getting your respective kidnappees on a transport?

Because I think it'd be best to start the main thread with the arrival of Sobi and Dr Rand... or even, to speed things up, after he's been there for a week or two. So just before Darvek arrives with Ina.

Then we can get down to business for a bit before rescue/help arrives.

(And obviously, simultaneously, the Ofi going to the Jedi for help, Sam getting her orders to go after Dr Rand, would be going on, before it all culminates at the end).




Second question, for everyone:

Do you want to accomplish this all in one thread, or do the actual rescue part in a second thread? Might be more organized to keep it all in one, but I'm flexible. It could work either way; we'd just have to find a stopping point for one thread to end, and the second to begin.

I'm planning to end our thread with Darvek getting Ina out of the apartment and onto the transport, maybe with a last little blurb about the droid going off for help.

As for #2, I don't really mind either way, though it might be a little confusing to have two events happening at once in the same thread. That's my two cents anyways.

So you're thinking... one thread for the interrogation/etc. with Sobi, Grey (if he stays on), Ina, and Dr Rand. And then a separate one for the Jedi and Ofi, and Tal and her crew, and they would later enter into the first one to start the rescue (instead of a third, new thread)?

Okay, just wanted to touch base here, before I do more replies:

lmr - Anything I can do with Dr Rand to aid in Sobi's kidnapping of him? Depending on his response to the box she found, we could end up in circles, lol.

Grey - Same thing, really... I don't want it to be super easy for Darvek to get Ina away from Ofi, but then again, it has to happen eventually. There any position I can put Ofi in in order to move this along?




Also, a secondary thing, for the later 'interrogation' thread on Boz Pity - I'd kind of like Ina to not walk away from this, when it's all said and done, unscathed. Nothing major... just maybe a scratch/cut on her cheek. Bruises are okay, too, but as for an permanent damage, a bit of a mark/scar on her face. Now, I'm not sure which of you would like to inflict this... Sobi might make the most sense, but it's up to you.



If any of you have any other questions, or if there's anything else I can do, let me know. Though this is my plot idea, I'd like it to be a pleasant experience for all.

He needs to find the files and recognize Sobi. That will instigate a confrontation, then if he lets slip his daughter is a Senator, the wheels in her head will start turning and she'll come up with demands.

Well, I wanna get that pot over it's head so I can stuff it under a sofa, so if there was some way for it to be distracted, maybe by shooting something that almost falls on/injures Ina, then I think that would give Grey an opening to bag it while not making it look too easy.

And, lmr, Dr Rand isn't the most observant of people, but I think I can swing something.

Though, lmr -- I assumed she'd find out about her being a senator later, during interrogations  on Boz Pity. And then she'd get the idea for leverage to get more out of Dr Rand, and send someone after Ina. That Dr Rand would be there a couple/few days before Ina was brought there.

Not sure if I said that anywhere, but it's what I had been thinking, lol. *shrug*


Either way, his daughter being a senator probably won't come into play in my next post anyway, but later. I'll just be starting up something for a confrontation.
