so, anybody wanna dual my Jedi master Oh and when is this moving on? like is there still more people who have to join? Oh and will this battle be like the republic pushing back the Sith and then suddenly the Tide turns? Maybe their could be traders among the Republics ranks? Engineers and troops who waited for the right moment before betraying the Military and Jedi? Oh and the base does have defensive turrets in place as well right? Oh and does the base hold any important items or sources of knowledge that must be destroyed after the walls are breached? I would be happy to spear head that. Oh and just to be clear, the Republic does have NPC Troops and Jedi lined up for this defense as well correct? So maybe after this the majority of the group could be like wiped out. This gotta look like a pretty bad lose right?

I probably don't have any moral authority to speak up around here, but ... this whole thing sounds kinda unfair for the 'pubs. I mean, "The endgame is for Sith to win". C'mon, you could've at least given them a fighting chance. It just means that no matter how badly Sith will fight and no matter how much prowess the garrison shows, the former are gonna win, and the latter - lose. It turns the rp from an actual game, where the outcome is never certain until it happens, and said outcome relying on what the players do, to writing a collective fanfic on the subject of "How the Sith take over the fortress".

But that's just my POV, at any rate ._.

That's because this is not an RPG, it's simply an RP. There is no dice being rolled, no calculating numbers for uber dps with a +1 Lightsaber of Awesomeness. This is purely writing. A narrative is already in place, you can have your character participate in that narrative or not. If you want a narrative where the Republic defeats the Sith, then set one up. What you're taking part is not a game, but the construction of a story. For this particular part of the overarching site plot-line, the Republic loses the base, and that's all that has been determined. How that happens, and whether or not the Republic general lives or dies, are both unknown.

But this is also about character development. Character development doesn't always come from uber victories, it also comes from dealing with loss. And in this case, the Republic takes a hit, how one's character deals with that loss is up to the player.
