I know one thing. It'll be visually appealing. Looking at the recent releases by Marvel and even some of the CG in Toy Story 3; I can conclude that it will be visually pleasing.
If it goes beyond that.......well...that's what we're all hoping for. I just hope it's not a total botch.

Considering all the other names that had been thrown around in rumors, I think J.J. Abrams is a positive.
But anyway, I was reading through joblo.com the other day, and found an article saying that Disney is trying to get Drew Struzan to come out of retirement to do the movie poster for Ep. 7.
If that happens, that would be awesome.

I'm not sure if it's just my optimism but I am really looking forward to this, especially with Abrams at the helm. I would have never believed that a Star Trek film could have taken off as much as his did or imagined the rise in popularity for comicbook films since Spiderman. Therefore I'm hopeful and anyway, even if their rubbish they'll give us a load of new settings and/or titbits to play with in roleplay? So win/win. Yes Mara, a Struzan poster would be rather special indeed! Here's to hoping. :3

Indeed!
Though I have yet to look for official confirmation (too lazy), last week Jimmy Kimmel and other late night hosts mentioned that Disney wants to do a couple 'spinoff' films as well. One for Boba Fett, another for Han... some kind of prequel to Ep. IV, I'm assuming.
I'm kind of on the fence about that. I mean, on one hand, it might be interesting. But on the other, if Disney keeps on blowing these out of proportion with a gazillion spinoffs and other films... SW is just gonna, I dunno, lose that special quality I'd always loved it for.

Well, I think stand-alone films could be really awesome as long as they're not just moneymakers and are treated with care. For example a team-up movie of some sort with a rag-tag bunch of bounty hunters or a group of Jedi would be cool and I think a Han Solo movie could work.
Perhaps they could look at Zahn's new book, Scoundrels, if they want Han? It's set between IV and V but could work.

The guy whose directing Star Wars #7 is the director of Star Trek. I thought you were only allowed to pick one. :^/

So I saw the other day that John Williams has signed up to do the score.
So yay.

To be honest, I always thought that another trilogy would be released, but I thought that Lucas said he would never sell it? Don't worry...

Well, Lucas no longer has a choice. Because he no longer owns Lucasfilm. Disney now has the rights, and Episode 7 begins filming next month, for a theatrical release December 2015.
