Maybe we need more subforums by weapon category. Say one for rifles, one for pistols, one for heavy, and one for other. Then we could have the tech mod go through and pin two or three weapons in each section, and designate them as 'standard issue' for the faction. In the main tech section, we could have a thread listing all the standard issue weapons.

I like that idea. I'm all for it, it'l make things easier and quicker to find instead of shifting through 10+ pages to find just one thing.

Also I had a suggestion to give the players a bit of a larger voice in terms of the site we have two appointed Admins what if a third one was elected every two months? That way we'll know at least one can be active and is chosen by us for us, I've asked for about 3-4 weeks about getting update announcements it hasn't been acknowledged by admins nor even adhered to it takes about 5 minutes to type an update announcement. Even an announcement of what's being considered from this thread and whats being shot down.

Also the News Group I've personally applied twice now no return however I fear that may be not the fault of admins directly. But another suggestion is that perhaps members of the news team be staff themselves maybe not mods, admins or even NGT's but a rank all their own.

Merely suggestions acknowledge or ignore. I've posted them.

i like the news group idea. But if i remember right, most of the news group already have their rank, i think ones and admin, ones honored Vet, then a couple others maybe? Anyway for those who don't have a rank prior this could be a good idea.

It was never acknowledged, basic communication. One person speaks and the receiver acknowledges it's been received or else the original speaker continues to try and be heard.

The announcement of a tournament isn't an announcement it's an advertisement of an internal event.

An announcement would go along the lines of a internal new report what the Admins have been up to, any progress on our suggestions, hell when the time line will move forward, any plans for the future, any possible upgrades to the forums, something about the Tech section that has been dead for awhile now even beyond the announcement of Arheim saying he'd tend to them.

There are posts in this threads where the admins talk--yay, communicate--directly with the people who are posting in here. If you want to know what the admins/staff think of them/are considering, I would suggest reading them; it's not hard to do.

Everything the staff thinks the general population of the site needs to know gets put out in an announcement when it's ready to be moved forward into the public sphere. If you haven't heard anything, it's reasonable to assume there's nothing that's reached the point to where it's ready to be passed on. It's not a hard conclusion to come to.

When the time moves forward, everyone will know beforehand, as it was so the last time. When the plot is about to progress or some major event is coming, everyone will get word beforehand, as it has always been. When a successor to Arheim has been decided on, there will be an announcement of it like there always is whenever someone takes over a section. Not unlike your grandfather clause thread, you're asking for things that have been around and done for a while.

I've read the entire thread from beginning to your post Rugs, the suggestion of regular announcements has yet to be acknowledged by Admins. Therefore I am to assume it hasn't yet been considered unless I missed the post of an admin acknowledging it?

For the News Group, that'd be my fault, as there are few of the group left and I need to speak to them to see if they still want to be involved. They have their own section of the forum to discuss news group things that's password protected, only those who are part of the group are given the password.

However, they're not part of the staff, nor a rank of their own because the way proboards v4.5 works is that a user can only have one rank/title with listed powers. The News Group don't need any powers because they simply post in the news section, also people that are part of the group already have a rank/title and so coming up with another would mess it up.

Having looked a bit at proboards v5 which should be coming out in the next few months, it's possible for a user to be in multiple groups. It's my intention to create a News Group on v5 but they won't be staff, all it will mean is that I can set it up so that they're the only ones who can access the news discussion board (no more password necessary) and make it so that they're the only ones who can post in the news section on the main forum. Hope that makes sense to you.

The admins and mods have been regularly posting in this thread with thoughts and considerations about various things that are being discussed here, as well as in other feedback threads. So I'm not really sure what is it you're asking for exactly. A weekly digest in the official announcements thread for those who don't want to read this one?

Simply that the idea is acknowledged, otherwise I have to consider it's ignored. However by your post it would seem the idea of regular announcements is being shot down in which case letting me know that would also be a form of acknowledgement.
