Patience extends to a point. Stubbornness, trolling, or intentional denseness won't get you anywhere in conversations with anyone. This is common sense. It should not take five posts saying the same thing to explain anything so simple to someone who's clearly intelligent enough to understand what's being said.
You'll find that in here and elsewhere, where people are not being purposefully stubborn, they have no trouble with me, nor the rest of us.
Congratulations, you've learned about basic conversation =D
ETA: Talratheon- For someone who tries to talk about understanding communication, that sure is a relatively poor showing of it =P Quote someone's post. Say you were actually responding to someone else.
Genius.

Alright alright. Everyone quiet down now. Now that we all know that there have been regular updates, let's leave it at that.

Thread revival,
I have a concern or more of a posed inquiry.
When the "f" word is typed it's often changed to flip or flippin'
Could we change the censor to make it frak and frakkin?
Has a bit of BSG flavor to it but at least we don't sound like far right wing suburbanites.

Personally I'd suggest you just actually use the word frak instead of typing the f word. There's a reason it's censored, because it's not allowed. If there wasn't a censor, using it would get you into trouble, it's there to protect against the odd occasion where people use them (and they shouldn't), not to be abused because it's there.
If you find yourself constantly crashing into the censor then I'd suggest you need to tone down your writing a bit so it doesn't.

Sometimes the censor seems downright Mormon or Jehovah's Witness. Even innocuous words get censored, and it seems like the censor is trying to enforce a G or PG rating rather than the site's supposed PG-13 rating. There was time when I couldn't even type Charles Dickens without it censoring.

Well, the word it was censoring in Charles Dickens is, in my opinion, one worth censoring. The fact it changes the last name would be because of the way the coding for the censor works, much like with the word cockpit, which I know was amusingly changed in some of my Lash posts. However, it seems like the two words were removed from the censor perhaps because they kept altering common words. But the vast majority of the ones on there do not fall under this, they are just slander that we are best off keeping on the list.
You could, on the flip side, remove the censor completely, which would mean that people would have to get a great many more warnings about their language outside of the cbox. Given how frequently people turn to bad language there, I don't recommend it.

I wouldn't refer to colorful language as slander.

In regards to the context of swearing on a PG-13 site, I wouldn't call it colourful language either. How about we call it inappropriate language, because given the situation, that's what it is.

All I'm saying is that we should sit down and draw a limit at PG-13, not enforcing PG standards.

If foul language was the only thing that held sway with ratings, perhaps. But it's not. With some of the violent and other themes on the site, the line is probably already pushed enough. Language is something we don't need to push further. I will point out, for example, that Revenge of the Sith was rated PG-13 without much, if any, swearing in it.
It's honestly not that difficult to avoid issues with the censor. And I say that as someone that's normally far more vulgar than you are.
But, since you insist, what words is it that you want? Ass, damn, hell, are all mild and allowed. 'S' and 'F' are not, neither should they be. 'B' obviously is not, nor is 'C.'
'W' is censored, though it's not hard to say the same thing with different words.
Bastard is not censored, and it falls into the 'mild' category with the other three, in addition to having a legitimate use for children born illegitimately.
The male reproductive organ words are both uncensored, but as Jenno pointed out, that's more to do with coding not allowing them to be filtered out from words that they make up a part of (cockpit, to go with the example he provided.) Though it should go without saying that they really shouldn't be used out on the boards.
So what words is it that you want? Because in my extraordinarily-vulgar opinion, the words that are censored are done rightfully so.
And for the original post that brought this whole issue up, there is absolutely nothing that's preventing you from typing the more star warsy variants of the words out themselves. But Jenno's already addressed that.

And to think that all this started because folks wanted the word "frak" but didn't want to type it...

W would be a start. I seem to recall slut being censored as well.
What really bothers me about this thread is the tone it always seems to take now. Moonz started it for polite discourse, and now it seems to be a place for staff to dismiss and demean the concerns brought to them, often in a snide manner.

What really bothers me about this thread is Moonz started it for members to bring up actual issues of concern and now it seems to be a place for two in particular to whine about not having their every whim catered to, often through complaining about silly thing like changing a word that they could adjust on their own in literally two seconds with three keystrokes.

Annnnd, unfortunately I think whatever is going on here between these two individual members should continue off stage.
Thank you everyone who has contributed here and for the changes and activity it has spurned. Good job!
Without further ado I pronounce this topic locked!
