Nui's Jewel - The Crew

Hello people of the Jewel. Just your not-so-friendly neighborhood antagonist of this plot stopping by to ask if the ship needs any more harassment.

Seriously though, I've been long considering Rah's place in this plot for awhile. In our first meeting Rah was impressed by Lash's piloting skills and now since the Black Moons have formed and struck it rich, Rah has no need to hunt him for a petty bounty. In fact he would be much more interested in perhaps making him and the crew...benefactors?

Well, Elav, I'd probably say location would be best decided when Rae's revealed/decided on her character somewhat, best to kill two birds with one stone. Or, rather, invite them into our nest at the same time.

Although I would suggest that the Jewel could be hired by the company to pose as buyers in order to get the droid back and perhaps they could buy the droid for themselves or just take it, thus making themselves another enemy.

Also, Rae, any ideas on what you're doing for your character? If you're not sure what to do then I'm always free to discuss things with you, maybe throw in a few suggestions, might get some solid idea forming in your head?

And Arheim, for a little bit I think we're just going to focus on picking up the crew. Although that could turn out to be quite useful at a later date.

Right now though I'm not really sure how we're going about acquiring the two on Tatooine, we had a plan but i can't remember it. And I haven't heard too much from Meira recently (I suspect she's rather busy), anybody else remember? I remember something about getting on the wrong side of Talarian's slave girl's master and freeing her in an act of revenge but that's just about it. If no one can remember then we best start brainstorming again, I have an idea forming but I'll save it for later.

Some ideas about our Tatooine stuff:

• Palas has a thing about slavery... it's tied into her character history. In short: She doesn't like it
  
• Both Trevil and Lash characters have a thing for gambling, one seems to be doing slightly better than the other though
  
• Perhaps our friendly slave owner is a gambler as well?
  
• Palas and Lash are wanted, and on a Hutt planet. Maybe they get noticed and maybe Kess helps them?... leading them to want to help her in return?

hey... i know we already got a lot of people running about on this one, but I have kept up on this thread for a while, and I have been reading through the rp and it happens to be one of my frequented ones. That being said, since this story happens to be one that i enjoy alot, I was wondering if I could partak in any way.

I am sitting on a Gen'Dai bounty hunter and he's got nothing to do. perhaps a new antagonist to work with rah? or perhaps an ally? I'm open to anything, but after keeping up with this rp for a while, joining it seems to be the only thing left. XD

anyways... i was just wondering, its cool if your too full, like i said... i love reading it. But being involved would be nice

hmm, I don't know if Rae's still going to be joining us or not, if you get a reply Elav then it'd help us somewhat. ^^

Now, two things to talk about, what's going to be happening on Tatooine and then where the spice deal will lead us.

So first of all, you've got Kess and Palas in Mos Eisley and Trevil and Lash in Mos Espa (bot of which I have just discovered were not actually built until about 100 BBY). Whilst Palas and Kess are going about buying and what-not, Lash is going to show Trevil/Yunas the ship, this way the two can come to know one another. Also, if we got bored we could rp out the water deal and perhaps something go a little bit wrong. Either way, Palas is going to be sold out to Greegar by Kess' boss and once she finds out she's gonna free Kess, steal the parts she needs and makes a break for it. Now, my suggestion, it's likely Greegar will have some local men who he can send after Palas who, with Kess, will be on her way back to Espa and the ship. Given the weight of the load her speeder will be carrying, it's likely Palas would think that she wouldn't be able to escape those who were tailing and firing at her (I'm seeing this somewhat as a chase scene but more Star Warsy). Calling in help from Lash the pilot and slicer would head out in the ship to swoop in and either blow the men to itty bitty bits, or just to make them flee (whilst Lash's flying Trevil can man the turret). Once done Lash can land the ship, they all get on board, we have something of an RP at the compound if we wanted to, for between jobs, or we simply head straight to the next job.

The next job, of course, will be offloading the spice which got Lash and Palas into their current tight-spot. Now, the idea is to have Trevil hand Lash a databad with all the info on it so we can progress with the roleplaying because right now we have no idea where or what we want to happen, and if we want to pick any more folks up on this mission (might make a good way to introduce Elav's droid).

Does anyone have any suggestions? My sudden spur of the moment one is basically to sell the stuff to some high-flying corporate guy who likes to deal in the stuff and hasn't any fear for Greegar due to his own wealth and power. Or there's always rivalling Hutts if you want something a bit 'meh' (saying that I am now having ideas which could be interesting for just another Hutt). Basically I think this might be a good way to show that our crew is morally a bit gray, they know that this corporate guy is going to be selling them to the regular people on the planet and ruining their lives and they will have to make the choice to ditch this stuff and consciously hamper society.

But we could come up with other things to throw into the lot, maybe bump into some other folks if anyone was looking to get involved with the crew full time or just this once.

Had a thought:

If you guys go with the "high-flying corporate guy", maybe he
was the one to purchase T46 (for corporate espionage purposes
mainly)? TAG is a wild one, so he'd get tired of taking orders from
some rich dude pretty fast - he could become interested the in
the Jewel's crew and either try to offer them some kind of
deal or just sneak aboard.

I'm up for the chase scene. I mentioned in mine as Kess's thread that Palas gave Lash a communicator, so keep that in mind.

I like the idea of selling it to a corporate guy. And I like Elav's idea as well. So I'm game with that.

As far as recruiting more people, of COURSE! Maybe some people who can fight... cuz right now we're kinda mediocre.

Well, if we go for the corporate guy, I'd still probably suggest we stick away from the Core or inner rims, since there'd be more risk involved.

Plus I think we should save a trip to the Core Worlds for a later date, places like Corellia and Coruscant might be a rare trip experience for these guys.

I'd also recommend staying away from Bothawui at the moment.

Maybe when Trevil is more involved, it could be an interesting storyline but not right away.

The idea I had for Magdalena joining the crew was, because altering her Bio a bit to make her a rogue Grey Jedi, that while trying to elude Republic authorities that are looking for her and/or seeking a free-ride off the planet/colony/wherever the Jewel is docked she sneaks on board as a stowaway (girl is poor). But through her own mishap while hiding aboard, she's discovered - at which point she cuts a deal with Pala - she serves Pala as part of the crew - she can remain on board. As it would be advantageous for her, they're trying to avoid Republic authorities because they're a smuggler crew, and she's trying to keep secret she's a rogue Jedi while also trying to avoid being found by the Republic. Though, the when/where it's going to happen would be the next thing to figure.

I've a few ideas on how to slip Glem in, though they depend on exactly where the Jewel is when she gets picked up... and whether or not you guys are still on Tatooine. X)

It would be plausible for Glem to attempt delivery of a parcel to Tatooine, and then end up getting stuck there, joining the Jewel on the way out.

It would be even more plausible for her to have been delivering a package to this High-Corporate guy, after which she hitches a ride on the Jewel when she leaves.

The most rational would be for her to hitch-hike on the Jewel when the visit Corellia/Coruscant or any part of the Core, though that would run some risk for the crew of the Jewel. (And I don't want to wait that long, roffle. X) )

Another possibility: Glem might have hitched a ride on a smuggler's ship while trying to get to the Middle Rim. The smuggler finds out he's been discovered, changes his course, and runs off into the Outer Rim, dragging reluctant Glem with him. He lands on Tatooine, goes into hiding, Glem, ticked, ditches her ride, and tries to find a new one, stumbling across the Jewel. This would also apply to any other Outer-rim/middle rim planet, even the busier ones, for the Smuggler's intent was just to disappear.

Personally, I favor the last one, but any of the above work great for me. What do you, oh crew of Nui's Jewel, think? Open for other suggestions, of course, as well as flat-out-rejection, be it called-for.

I think maybe Glem could hitch on whichever planet we offload our spice on?

Hmm, might not be all that smooth if we try and force her in on Tatooine since it's drawing to an end.

The next mission might well be place to pick everyone else up, I know Elav's droid is going to join us there and is somehwat related to high-corporate guy.

We'd just have to think of a couple of things, when exactly would Glem slot into meeting the crew during the mission, why would she want to join the crew and why would the crew want her? For that last point it's usually a show of skill/ability, perhaps we could could have something happen after the deal was made to (mind the pun) spice things up? Not sure how we could work in the other two characters as well (Sentoyo's would most likely join before this on Kuras IV).

Magdalena can slip onboard just about anywhere, I think, even Tatooine as it would merely involve her seeking a free-ride off the planet (I can squeeze that into one post as it doesn't require her meeting anyone - it just involves her sneaking around and looking for some place to hide). She sees a ship prepping to leave, she sneaks on board and being discovered some time after they take off in space or where they dock next, hilarity ensues after that. Or some other place. ;D She could also show up on the planet/colony/wherever they're unloading their spice shipment. I don't know, ideas? I'm flexible. ;D
