The Night Witches. - RP Group

So, while delivering flowers yesterday while listening to the song "Night Witches"* By Sabaton from their latest Album, I thought that it'd be cool (I think so at least) to create a group of female pilots (The Night Witches the song is about was Russian Female pilots during ww2) who take on missions during the night, hence the Night in the name. Doing missions from Dropping of Spec-ops in the night to doing a preemptive bombing run during the night to make it easier for the main force to attack a well defended location.

Now, this is all just speculation from my part, but I was wondering if someone would be up for creating a group of female Pilots for these kind of things. Anyway, lemme know what ya'll think

Okay, so I was thinking a bit and with the help of a friend I think I've found how the Night Witches came to be:

The Night Witches started out as an experiment to see if female-only regiments were either equal or less effective than mixed or male-only regiments. However as time passed it was seen as a success as the initial group of pilots had great amounts of success, being on-par with Male-only regiments. The group which started out as an experiment was then turned into a group for Female Spec-op pilots.

Almost all of their operations were done during the night, ranging from scouting missions on planets to Attack runs. Though at first they lacked the proper ships for the type of operations they performed, ending up with the CC208 being commissioned by the Republic and Rendili Hyperworks was chosen to design and produce these ships.

The Night Witches started out as an experiment to see if female-only regiments were either equal or less effective than mixed or male-only regiments.

Russia during WW2 did something akin to this "experiment", but rather than all female pilots it was an all female regiment of soldiers. It didn't work out too well, because--go figure, you toss a bunch of poorly trained soldiers together, whether they're men or women, you get disastrous results.

It was by the late 20th century though when other countries as well as the US begun letting women fly in combat zones that it was realized women were just as good as men as pilots, whether in combat or not. But understand though we're talking the late 20th century with all this when aircraft capable of sustained long distance flight wasn't even a century old yet. And that's setting aside the blatant sexism over the course of that century.

The Republic has been around for thousands of years, they've had female pilots in combat and outside of it for just as long. So, why would suddenly be uncertain if women would be just as good of pilots as men? One would think this would have been long known to them over the course of thousands of years. One would think as progressive as the Republic is they wouldn't still locked within a 1940s Russia's sexist mindset wondering if a group of female pilots would be as talented as men in combat. They'd have thousands of years of history at their back telling them that they are.

So, rather than it being some sort of "experiment", it'd make more sense if these ladies were a group of friends who formulated their own unofficial squadron within the Republic military.
