What to Expect:

As stated in the Horror on Taris sign ups, As the Sun Rises (ASR) is the thread for people who just want a good ol’ fashioned Empire on Republic battle. The thread will start with Levin leading a team of Blades and special ops troopers to ambush the Empire at their flank. Currently entrenched, encamped and waiting for the rest of their forces to arrive the Empire on the ground will be lead by Darth Novus.

Warning to all darksiders: In true Levin fashion, he’ll be opening the assault with aggressive use of Force Light (click!). Now this is meant mostly for ambiance (and badassery), but any Sith that wish to explore what it’d be like for their character to experience it is encouraged to try and tangle with Levin a bit early into the thread.

We encourage everyone to work here ahead of time, and maybe arrange some duels/crazy battle shenanigans. Neology, Fromikeable and I have a three-way duel planned about halfway through the battle. After working with them, I have to recommend ya’ll try doing something similar. It was a wonderful experience.

ASR is meant to be one large battle royal, with no set ending/destination. Just hours and hours of dirty, gritty, in your face clash. So feel free to fight and duel and kick ass until ya’ll have had your fill.

I wanted to note here is that in Diarmuid's history, he had worked closely with the Military and leading troops to battle, so maybe though this he could do something as well. I know Novus is leading the troops, but is she bringing the reinforcements or is she with the troops on the ground? I was planing on having Diarmuid down there after reading this so i guess its more curiosity than anything.

Uh... I'm not 100% on what you're asking, Lancy. Novus will land with the initial deployment of troops and will be primarily working to place and defend the screamer prototypes until they come into play in Horror on Taris.

If you're asking if Lancer can command some NPC troops? Yeah, sure, but keep it reasonable.

He keeps it small. I just didn't know if she was with the initial landing and was waiting for others to show up. Guess she is. I am yours to command for this engagement, milady.

As I discussed with Neology earlier, Zarene is probably going to remain with mission control on the carriers after the initial troop deployment, where she will be facilitating communication between various groups on the ground, coordinating aerial support where needed, etc.

Depends on what happens, she might come out later in the thread to participate in combat more directly.

Lessee...if Zarene is mainly in a support role at first, and I'm guessing Ash will probably be looking for options other than ANOTHER Lancy/Snowflake duel (Though I'm totally game for some sort of interaction there.)...Stephen, how about you and the scaly horror?  Might be kind of an interesting skill vs brawn matchup.

Just to chime in, Karta's role is most likely going to be orbital support using her ship's sensors as well as possibly heavy turbo-laser fire on large areas of enemies. I'll probably also have her attempting to delay any reinforcements from the Sith transports.

I was hoping we could schedule that for late in HoT, if that's cool with you. Got a couple things Novus will need her hands for before uhm... That favor. Not that we can't fight a bit in ASR too!

Edit: Oh, I missed the bit about tacklegator. I definitely want to see that fight. xP

I wont be posting in the first round, because I am loaded into a tube currently. Not exactly appointment television. Whenever Sparrow/Neology Fires me planetside, I will start my posting there and consider that my place in thread order. So if you are waiting for me, go and wait no more. Also, Sol'kanar will fight anything, so there is an opportunity for that later on.

Hey, Mara? Just wanted to put a mention up here, in case you never saw Ash's comment in the shoutbox. Apparently he's going to be away with...something or other for the next week and change, so he told us all to skip him this round of posting. I know you said at some point that Looma would be sticking close to Lance, so I don't know if that affects your plans this round. But if you're still posting, alter the order in your head appropriately.

Yes... His posts do kind of hinge on what I can do with Looma, at least at the beginning.

But, there's still a couple people yet to go before it's even Ash's turn. And if we're not holding to a strict posting order, he and I could always go last this round, depending on when replies get up/he returns.

So I'll just wait till whether if/when it's even an issue.
