What to Expect:

As stated before in the Horror on Taris sign ups, The Pale Tide (TPT) is the thread for those who wanted to explore the cooperation angle introduced in HoT (story thread) further. With the battlefield nearly wholly swallowed by the sea of rakghouls, the last group of survivors still on world are making a break for their last hope of escaping. Fort Bennick had been evacuated hours ago, but there is still hope for a shuttle to be left still.

Sent by the commander of the Sith Fleet to respond to Darth Novus’ beacon, Jessoin Zarander and Tesa Yarum will be the ones to provide said shuttle. Having arrived well before the group of survivors, the two Sith were tasked with securing the route from Bennick’s gates to the docking platform. Prepared to receive the Darth with her entourage of Imperials and Republicans, the thread will begin in media res. Fromikeable will make things clear once the event starts.

The name of the game here is survival through cooperation. In two smaller groups the survivors would almost assuredly be devoured. But together this ragtag group has found a way to survive this long, and must continue doing so to continue living. The survivors will be frazzled, wounded and likely exhausted by the point of TPT. Jessoin and Tesa exempt given their late arrival to the party. The Republicans may not like it, but the two Sith will be key to guiding and defending the survivors through the (eventually) besieged fort. What? Did you think the rakghouls would be done with ya’ll?

TPT will have a set event line, with a clear beginning, middle and end. Staffers will drive the narrative, which will leave any members to drop in and out as they please. Their characters will be immune to any unwanted harm, and be considered NPC in the background until the player chooses to hop back in.

I won't be playing Meira in either of the other threads, but she will obviously be there. Since Meira's involvement with the Blades has been reluctant at best, I'm just gonna say that she'd been working on evacuating citizens of Taris to safety during the battle. I'm going to say that she was on a shuttle taking a group of survivors to.... Somewhere... When it crashes. I think she, maybe some soldiers, and civilians(?) will survive and that's how she ends up in this mess.

As far as endgame, I really don't see Meira getting onto a ship with the sith, even if they all worked together to get to safety. So, would it be possible for there to be one more ship for the Pubs to take at the end? It's really the only way I can see it ending, especially since the Jedi are outnumbered.

I'm fine with some Republic soldiers and Jedi escaping on Karta's ship the Oracle. Even though she's not signed up for this thread, I don't care if people NPC the actions of her and her crew for that specific instance.

Not to worry, the escape ship scenes are planned to be how the thread wraps up. So these are minor details really. The main focus will be the group trying to make it through the infested base >3

I see Xierra being like Meira; desperate times call for desperate measures... on the battlefield but not in the evac. She'd not want to be in a confined space with the enemy either. So I'm all for them leaving in separate shuttles.

As for the rest of the thread, though, I'm not really sure what Xierra will be doing, or thinking, quite honestly. Hard to figure that out when the other two threads will be in process as well and I won't know where she was.

Not sure if you want her with Meira, Meira? Since Xierra is wholeheartedly a Blade and everything.
Otherwise I guess I'll just stick her in a corner somewhere, fighting off rakghouls, muttering "Not this again".

For the most part, Vance going to be very much the advocate for cooperation here. While he's certainly going to appeal for it from a "hey, let's work together and not get torn limb from limb" standpoint, the truth of the matter is that he doesn't really want to have pick sides. He'll probably wind up back on the Sith shuttle at the end, mind you, but the point is that he's going to be decidedly unbiased and attempting to hold everyone together out of a genuine concern for everyone's well-being.

That said, you guys should make it as freaking difficult for him as possible xD

As of...like, 15 minutes ago, Xierra has Blade company. If you like, she can be hanging out with Jaidan. I figure Jaidan remained behind until the last possible moment, to keep the evac zone relatively secure, only to find out he might have actually remained well PAST the last possible moment. Maybe the two of them are skulking around Fort Bennick, trying to avoid getting eaten while sweeping the place for any OTHER trapped survivors.

Then, look, a shuttle just crashed! There may be survivors! Xierra, you're one of them! If anyone's pregnant, you kidnap the hell out of her.

Or...they can go help. You know, either or.

Well, Lancy is gonna be here: one more Sith to play around. Luckily, he isn't all Vader "Dont make me destroy you' evil. Should be fun. XD. Maybe he should be captured and need to escape at a later time... if he doesn't die that is. haha

Not sure where they'd PUT Lance in such a case. It actually DOES occur to me that Jaidan, Xierra and Lancy are all in possession of non-lightsaber melee weapons, and in a zombie horror scenario, silence IS sort of a desirable goal. If you really want to make Lance a prisoner, we could do it in the sense that Jaidan tried proposing on the duel thread.

"You can keep your weapons. But you have to promise only to stab what we tell you to. Cuz you're under arrest and stuff."

Maybe Jaidan and Xierra could run into Lance early, and negotiate some sort of truce like that? I haven't been told of any reason why having a Sith in the bunch even before Tessoin show up is a no no. Just a thought.

Maybe they could, or Lancer and Jaidan could have been at least not killing each other from thread 2.

I should mention, as you'll soon see in TPT the party is a mix of PC and NPC's so there's a good mix of Imps and Pubs
