Name: Kaidus Starstalker
Race: Human
Age: 26
Birthplace: Ambria
Allegiance: Sith Empire/Inner Sanctum
Status: Sith Initiate
Rank: Sith Initiate
Height/Weight: 6'1" (Height) 188 lbs (Weight)
Appearance: Kaidus is a lean, athletically built caucasian human male. He prefers to keep his raven colored hair cut short, almost in a military style. His dark, brooding brown eyes tend to stare at whomever may be speaking with him, which only furthers his already imposing figure. At 1.85 meters in height, Kaidus stands a full head over the average males of his species, a fact he has used to his advantage whenever he felt it necessary to intimidate another initiate.
He has somewhat large hands, making the use of small objects somewhat of a task for him occasionally. Unlike many of his peers, Kaidus prefers to wear as little armor as possible. What armor he does wear in tandem with his typically black robes is relatively small; protecting only that which requires it so to not encumber his movements.
Personality: Patient and thoughtful, Kaidus can be cunning and even diplomatic when necessary. Although he possesses impressive combat skills when compared to his current peers, Kaidus tends to prefer more subtle methods of dealing with problems. Although he is not quick to anger, Kaidus does tend to get carried away when he loses his cool demeanor. One such example was when he lashed out at an instructor for choosing to have an initiate attempt the first trial before him; an initiate he felt was inferior intellectually.
Kaidus also learns quickly; but gets frustrated when something takes too much longer to accomplish than he plans for. He does hold grudges; and is quick to come up with a way to settle them. And, although still learning, Kaidus has shown manipulative tendencies, particularly when it comes to getting a hold of restricted scrolls and data.
Although, nothing angers him more than weakness; his own, and others, be it intellectual or physical, and especially when powerful individuals make foolish mistakes.
Ships/Vehicles: Kaidus does not currently own a starship or vehicle.
Equipment: Light armor and robes, designed to favor agility and maneuverability over protection.

Biography: Kaidus Starstalker was born on the agriculture planet, Hestria, to a farming family. He began showing signs of Force Sensitivity at the typical young age, but this was an unwelcome event for his parents. Rather than wait for the inevitable problems they believed would ensue, the two gave their son to a Hutt in hopes of paying off a loan for their farm. The father had made a deal for a large loan with a Hutt named Tokka to pay off the debt already owed on their wine processing station, when they were unable to settle the debt, Kaidus' parents offered him to the Hutt's debt collectors, hoping that the allure of having a Force Sensitive servant would allay any harsh penalties against them. The collectors accepted this compensation, and left with the toddler.
Due to his talents, or possibly simply due to his potential, Kaidus was raised and trained to be a part of the Hutt's personal guard. As young as thirteen, Kaidus proved to be a great asset; having successfully defended the Hutt when a rival had sent an assassin to end the Hutt's life. Kaidus's senses warned him of deadly intent, and permitted him to single out the assassin within the Hutt's immediate company. Although he was not able to stop the assassin himself, his detection and identification of the assassin allowed the other guards to do away with the former. Because of his abilities, he was quite arrogant in his youth, even having a tendency to back talk the Hutt on occasion; a habit that he was weened off of with repeated beatings. The young man would continue to serve the Hutt, although with growing animosity, until a short time after his nineteenth birthday; and his self given gift was to mercilessly slaughter his master and fellow guardians. He had gradually grown weary of serving the crime lord, of dealing with the dregs of the galaxy, and generally of the nasty smell that often wafted off the Hutt's great bulk. Finally, Kaidus had come to the decision to free himself from the Hutt's service, and strike out on his own. With a successful deal that would see the Hutt's wealth nearly triple, a banquet was held in celebration.
Kaidus dined with his master, his combat instructor, his fellow guards, and a slew of beings invited to the affair. As the celebration neared its apex, with alcohols and spices blurring the minds of everyone around him, Kaidus decided the time had come to "move on." His first victim was his combat instructor, whom he felt presented the greatest threat. He then turned on the rest of the guards and patrons, slaughtering his way through the room while armed with a blaster pistol and a vibroknife. The more he killed, the deeper his hatred burrowed into his being. He had been serving alongside such weak, pathetic beings; and it angered him; he could have been ruling these miscreants, or playing a greater role in the galaxy at large; his potential was being wasted at the service of a mere gangster! He fed on their sobering fear, energizing his movements.
Unable to flee, the terrified Hutt tried to bribe Kaidus; but the hate-fueled human ignored the Hutt's pleas, and fired a dozen rounds into the Hutt's giant girth. When he left the scene, he left slowly, keeping an eye out for anyone who may have been witness to his slaughter. Kaidus slipped into a freighter as its crew prepared to leave, and never looked back.
For the next two years, Kaidus took up work as a smuggler, but understandably avoided jobs that had any dealings with Hutts. When word caught up to him about the Sith and their war against the Galactic Republic, Kaidus was intrigued. Intending to gain greater power, the young man traveled to a Sith occupied world, and enlisted. When he spoke of his abilities, he was whisked away to the Sith Academy on Korriban, where he trained with other would-be Sith hopefuls for the next four years.
During his training, Kaidus hungrily poured through the history of the Sith. However, this would also lead him to question the Empire itself. Officially ruled by Aristocrats, the actual Sith Order seemed to be a kind of subsidiary organization, or at least that is how it appeared to Kaidus. It was immediately clear that no one was fool enough to oppose the Darths who ruled the Order, but Kaidus found it strange that they tolerated the Aristocrats calling themselves Sith, when they clearly were only politicians and business beings.
As with all of his peers, Kaidus hoped to prove himself worthy of being taken on as an apprentice by a Sith Lord; a goal of which he proved he was willing to kill over. At least three other Sith hopefuls suffered humiliation at his hands, though this came at a cost; almost none of his peers would aid him out of fear that he would turn on them.
Now, he nears the end of his Initiation. What the future holds for him, who knows.
Roleplay Sample:
Kaidus stands perpendicular to an opposing prospective Sith; a Nikto with green scaly skin wrapped in simple black robes. Kaidus grips the handle of his electrobaton in his right hand, breathing slowly, evenly, keeping himself calm and alert. The Nikto, on the other hand, audibly snarls, brandishing his own preferred weapon, an electrostaff, whirling it in circles around its body.
"You have both done well to come this far; you stand above your peers." booms the voice of their proctor, a green-skinned male Twi'lek, from a balcony above the modestly sized arena. "You have each earned prestige, but ultimately, only one of you may go on. Which, of course, is why you now find yourselves here."
The proctor grins toothily, gazing down at the two young beings.
"You must now fight for the honor; kill the other, and you will be presented to other Sith who have need of an apprentice. But only the strongest may receive that honor; so, which of you will it be?" the Twi'lek claps his hands together, a beastly look of anticipation glints in his eyes.
Immediately, the Nikto bellows his battle cry, leaping clear across the twelve meters between itself and Kaidus, bringing the electrostaff down. Kaidus sidesteps it, causing the weapon to slam into the ground with a flash of energy. Kaidus engages the Nikto with light, fast sweeping strikes and quick jabs with his own electrified baton. Both weapons are lethal; capable of surging millions of volts of electricity into their victims. Each time the weapons clash, the arcs of controlled energy crackle and throw sparks.
Learning from past mistakes, Kaidus opts to redirect his opponent's strikes, rather than block them; a method suited to frustrating and wearing down the opponent. This tactic indeed proves to be the better, as the Nikto's movements become increasingly sloppy as its rage offsets its skill with the staff. Seeing an opening, Kaidus steps forward, placing himself inside the Nikto's defensive range, and slaps the side of his electrobaton against his foe's left wrist, causing the alien's arm to spasm from the sudden shock.
The Nikto yelps in surprised pain, and attempts to wield the staff with its good arm; but Kaidus ducks under the wild swing, spinning on his left heel and ramming the bottom of his boot into the Nikto's jaw. The stunned alien stumbles back, but Kaidus is upon him again in an instant. Delivering three precise blows to the alien's right hip, chest, and finally the left side of it's skull, Kaidus overwhelms his opponent.
Rather than simply let him fall, Kaidus thrusts his open left hand forward, unleashing a strong blast of the Force, lifting the ailing Nikto off its feet, and slamming into the far wall. Blood sprays onto the wall when the Nikto's skull makes contact with the hard surface, leaving no question as to the alien's fate.
Kaidus thumbs the deactivation switch on his weapon as the Twi'lek proctor claps.
"Yes, good! Very good!" the instructor applauds, a savage smile stretched across its lips. "Your Strength gave you Power, and your Power brought you Victory! These are the ways of the Sith! Congratulations, acolyte; you pass this test. Return to your quarters; I will forward the results. If a Sith Lord should so choose to come seeking an Apprentice, know that your name will be on the list. But beware, apprenticeship to a Sith Lord is far, far different than studying at this Academy... but you will discover that for yourself when the time comes."
Wordlessly, Kaidus turns away from the instructor and heads for the arena gate, not so much as sparing a glance at the Nikto. His peer's death meant that it was weak, and so, deserved to die. That too, is the way of the Sith.
