Appearance Face Claim • Tom Hiddleston Height & Weight • 6’2” | 170 lbs Overall Looks • Darth Solis is a creature of grace. He is tall with lanky limbs and long fingers. His skin is fair and pale, and lined with scars of varying sizes. His hair is feathered naturally, with a slight curl that flares outward. Like all Zelosian, Jess’ eyes are a shockingly vibrant green, they almost seem to glow. It’s a common sight for Jess to talk with his hands, gestures abound. Most of the time he smiles pleasantly, a knowing grin as if some great secret is held within those shining green eyes. This is merely a veneer, if Jessoin is smiling at you, it’s quite likely he’s planning a way to get you killed or in bed. He has the habit of cracking his joints, though the man does it unconsciously.. One thing he insists on, is being impeccably dressed. All his robes and clothes are custom tailored to the man, often in greens, blacks and golds. Even the robes he dons for combat are made of high end leathers and materials, and makes it a point of pride to not get a single mark on them when in battle. He moves in grand motions, all sweeping gestures and long strides. The man often leers and grins, as if the entire galaxy simply entertains him to no end, especially when someone is receiving his attention. Whenever Jessoin talks to you, it's as if there is no one else in the galaxy but you, his attention undivided, if unwanted. With his deeper studies into the ways of the Dark Side, Zarander’s appearance is now more twisted. Dark green veins stand out beneath ashen pale skin, and sinister red eyes are set within sunken sockets. The Sith doesn’t shy from his newfound appearance, instead embraces it as the living god he has become. Personality Profile To be blunt, Jessoin is power hungry. There is nothing more the man craves than the freedom only the Force can offer. And he doesn't hide it. This is primarily due to his sordid history, and tendency to let others get the upper hand over him. He can be manipulated by folks of the female persuasion rather easily, something he loathes about himself. Yet deep down, finds a twisted thrill in the game. Even when rebuffed, the Darth will continue his amorous advances if only to see what could happen when either are pushed. When not honing himself, or working for his mistress, Empress Renata, Jess spends his time combing through the Sith Archives, always thirsting for new knowledge. A secret love of his, and something he would never admit, is his addiction to soap operas on the holonet. Some of his favorites include As the Galaxy Turns, The Dark and the Light, and Hotel Corellia. Freedom is a big thing to the man, having been controlled for so long. For the first time in his life, his Mistress appears to be hands off, though unafraid to put the Zelosian in his place. Background Father • Soin Zarander, 66, Merchant Mother • Jeza Zarander, 60 Siblings • N/A Other Important Connections • Empress Renata, 34, Mistress Overall History • Starting Seeds (Birth to Padawan) Nearly thirty years ago on Zelos II, Jessoin Zarander was born into a merchant family. Though not wealthy, his family certainly wasn’t poor, and they paid well to have doctors look the baby over to make sure he was healthy. It was discovered that not only was he healthy, but he had a high midichlorian count, and like many, when this was discovered, the Jedi were contacted. His family tried to not get too attached to the baby before the Jedi arrived, but like many parents, it was not easy. Many a tear was shed when the robed figure approached their home, there to take the baby away. The Jedi introduced herself as Rhissai’Arckan, a young knight who was asked to retrieve the child and bring him to Coruscant safely. Jessoin seemed a happy baby, the caretakers often gazed into his vibrant green eyes in wonder at what a beautiful baby he was. From a young age, like many Zelosians, Jessoin was afraid of the dark. This fear would be one that never truly leaves the Zelosian, as evolution and cultural memory are both very hard things to overcome for Jedi. As he began his youngling training, he took a special class with a Twi’lek Jedi Master, one Tar’loike, who helped him work through his innate fear of the dark. Jessoin never would completely shake this fear, but as his youngling years went on, he would learn not to let it overwhelm him. He was quite the amicable child, he never butted heads or argued with other students. His only real want, was to be wanted and liked. If someone disliked him, it always put the young Zelosian in a depressed state. Luckily he was among Jedi though, as Jessoin showed he was a very trusting child, and could easily be manipulated by someone he saw as a friend. In his classes as a youngling, Jessoin showed that he was average in most ways compared to other Force sensitives. He was very strong in the Force, there was no doubt there, but it was a power he had trouble tapping into. Jessoin was decent enough with the training sabers, he grasped the concepts fine, but didn’t favor them. What the boy did favor, was active applications of the Force. He did show an amount of talent when it came to projecting the Force. As he began to near the age of ten, a young Knight had noticed Jessoin as a youngling, and his tendencies towards projecting the Force, like herself. She asked to be the boy’s teacher, and for him to be her first Padawan. After some deliberation, the council agreed, the Zeltronian Jedi Knight Netta would take on Jessoin as her padawan learner. Jessoin couldn’t quite put his thumb on it when she introduced herself, but for some reason, he felt as if he’d known the beautiful red skinned woman his entire life, as if she was simply apart of him, and he hadn’t noticed it until now. The boy was instantly smitten by her… The Seedling (Padawan to Knight) Jessoin showed that he was an eager learner. He hung onto Netta’s every word, and every movement. As more time went on, he felt himself losing his mind more and more into her. Netta couldn’t help but enjoy the boy’s attention and eagerness, her natural Zeltronian instincts mixed with the ego boost gave her a high few could describe. She couldn’t help but further his feelings with a mixture of the Force and Zeltronian influence in the first few years of his training. However, she did not neglect her job training him. Jessoin would practice Shii-Cho with his master, but also, he would begin to learn the ways of Makashi- Netta’s preferred style. She also helped him refine his innate ability to manipulate the Force outside his body, teaching him many abilities using telekinesis as well as shielding type powers. As Makashi was a style that favored lightsaber to lightsaber combat, he was taught ways to fight and defend using just the Force as his ally, being able to project shields around him as well as assault with thrown objects at longer distances. Under Netta’s tutelage, and with Jessoin’s natural abilities, he quickly grasped those concepts quite well, and would continue to develop them over the years. One thing Netta did not teach him, and unbeknownst to Jessoin, was the art of telepathy. If anything, after a couple years, Netta had not only neglected to train him in telepathy, but seemed to actively be using it against him. Not necessarily out of any sort of malicious will, but more so out of a desire to see what would happen, another case of a Jedi trying to deal with their species’ natural instincts. Unfortunately for Jessoin, it seemed as if she was leaning more towards those instincts than fighting them… Often during his Padawan years Netta and him would travel off world for various missions, none ever that were really deadly, or serious, but matters that should be attended to nonetheless. If he was anyone else, he might have been suspicious when Netta began leaving the various hotels and camps they would stay at in the middle of the night, but he trusted his master, with every fiber of his being. Little did he know, but Netta had been sneaking out in the night to meet a secret lover. Around the time Jessoin had turned thirteen, he had begun to wrestle with something. His trust and adoration of Netta had begun to change into something more towards love, and lust. As his body matured, and he started to go from boy to man, Jessoin couldn’t look at Netta the same. He felt ashamed to feel so, and flat out refused to tell anyone of what was happening within himself. Until one day in the middle of a sparring session, Jessoin finally couldn’t take it anymore, he was now able to look Netta eye to eye, having recently his a growth spurt, and told her how he felt. Instead of being reprimanded, and exiled like he thought would happen, the woman merely grinned and told him that there was nothing wrong, he was simply just becoming a man. That night, she took his virginity… If anything, that one faithful night seemed to have changed Jessoin for the better. He strove to work his hardest in the ways that Netta taught him, deathly exhausted after every training session. But each time that it was apparent that he had worked hard, and done well enough to please Netta, she would respond in kind, furthering the bond between the two, and furthering the corruption within Jessoin’s mind. By his mid to late teens, Netta and himself were rarely amongst other Jedi, always seeming to be working missions in less populated areas. This allowed Jessoin and Netta to continue their inappropriate relationship, though Jessoin was deeply in love with Netta, he didn’t realize that she was using him for the thrill of everything, delighting in how easily he fell to her whims. He was too naïve to recognize the signs of a Jedi beginning their fall, and really, he didn’t fully care. Jessoin was devoted to Netta. So the Jedi never had a clue what was really going on between the two, no witnesses. The years went on, and while the two carried on their corrupted relationship, Netta continued to teach Jessoin the tenants of her style of being a Jedi. He had nearly mastered Shii-Cho by the time he was eighteen, and was quickly picking up Makashi as well. The more dueling focused form fit his long limbs and natural agility well. He also continued to excel in the arts of protection and telekinesis, able to move and stop objects quite easily. The young man was so caught up with everything that he never really noticed that she still had barely taught him anything regarding telepathy, nor really cared, his will was nearly fully wrapped around hers. As Jessoin neared the age of twenty, his passions for Netta never seemed to cease, and he had learned well under her despite the tainted bond between the two. He was quite a capable fighter now, as well as one who could manipulate the Force quite well. Netta believed he was ready to become more than just her student, but to become a Knight himself. Which would allow her to help distance themselves while still being able to still have a hold on Jessoin. Little did he know, that over those entire years of being and training with Netta, she had been hiding a second affair... And the other lover, was not pleased to discover that Netta was shared with her own student... Trials 20-22 The council agreed to put Jessoin through the trials at Netta’s request. Tradition had most Padawan’s begin the trials at their early twenties, and he had shown no tendencies towards the dark side or anything besides being a calm, quite man. His first trial was thought up by none other than Master Tar’loike, the very Jedi who knew what Jessoin’s greatest fear was still… In what would be his trial of spirit, Master Tar’loike reserved a meditation chamber, and had it specially outfitted to completely block out all and any light. Jessoin was told, that he was to sit in this chamber, and meditate on the fear, meditate on what it meant for him as being a Jedi, and to see if he couldn’t get a glimpse of what his destiny was, and what he was meant for. Despite minor spasms of panic in the days that lead up to the trial, Jessoin still held his head high as he walked into the chamber, sat down, and watched as the door slid to a close, sealing him within darkness. Jessoin to this day still couldn’t tell one exactly how long he was in that black hell for. His natural instincts screamed and clawed at his mind to get to a source of light, to avoid the darkness, to be able to see. But he fought those urges, using what little he still remembered of Master Tar’loike’s training, he let his mind wander past that surface level fear, and let it wander further into his psyche. He continuously caught glimpses of violence in his mind, of his yellow lightsaber cleaving through a group of dirty and scary looking men and women, of a howling wind blowing through his mind, of blood on the walls and the smell of copper in the air… he saw a rising sun on the horizon, partially eclipsed by a red moon that threatened to eclipse it fully… he heard screams, howling agony of someone in ultimate pain… screams he soon realized were his own… screams he saw that crushed the very physical world around him… and Netta. He saw her, bare and intertwined with another woman, a darker skinned Zabrak… they held each other with lustful ambition… and the Force tried to show him what had been happening all these years… and Jessoin still denied it… When he finally emerged from the chamber, drenched in sweat and nearly ready to pass out from exertion over the three days he was submerged in darkness, Jessoin shared what he saw, for the most part. His loyalty to Netta made him hold that part back, but he did share the vision of him slaughtering that group. When asked if he felt like this was a future that would come to pass, Jessoin could not even fathom causing that much harm to anyone, let alone so many people, and told the Jedi with confidence, that he could never kill another person, and as in the past, he never did, the Jedi accepted this as him seeing a possible future, but his conviction told them that he would continue down the path of the Jedi, and not fall. Jessoin Zarander had passed the trial of Spirit. After he had passed that test, Jessoin rarely had a chance to talk to Netta about what he had seen. He was still unsure of it, and was in complete denial that she would be with anyone besides him. How the poor man was wrong… Two weeks before Jess was scheduled to go offworld for his trial of the Body, the Force would bring him to it. On a walk into the streets of Coruscant, he noticed a woman, a darker skinned female Zabrak… He started to give chase to the woman, who instantly noticed him and let him chase her. After a brief run through the streets of Coruscant, he turned a corner into an alley only to have his mind rocked by a potent Force Stun. He would black out instantly. Jessoin awoke sometime later stripped and chained to the floor. Before he could begin to try to escape, that same Zabrak woman entered the room, and instantly invaded his mind via the Force. With a wicked grin and malicious golden eyes, the woman ripped and tore into his very soul, memories of intimate nights with Netta flooding his mind, pouring forth into the cosmos for her to see. Images of Netta touching him, the shame he had felt for the first years of it coursing through his veins, causing his body to twist and writhe in sheer agony as the Zabrak applied a most sinister technique… Torture by Chagrin. She only relented after Jessoin would pass out. Even then, it seemed the minute he would awake again, she would be there, that same wicked grin and those same evil eyes would bore into him, and the torture would begin again. Memories of being a child in bed, crying softly to himself as fear of faceless monsters crept about his mind. How shamed he felt over those tears, as he was certain no other younglings nearly bawled themselves to sleep, or had a night light. That shame would transfer unto his body, fiery hot stabs and cold as ice agony danced and invaded his body and mind… it had been two days since his disappearance, and nearly forty hours of those were spent under constant torture by this unknown woman. Finally, on the third day of his capture, after another session of Torture by Chagrin, and after he had passed out from it, he was loaded into a speeder with his valuables, and taken from the abandoned apartment building he had been held in. Still going full speed, the captors opened the door panel and tossed Jessoin out of the moving vehicle, right onto the steps of the Jedi temple. Luckily for Jessoin, there were always guards on duty, and though they never found the people who tossed him, they were able to get him to the Medical Ward. He awoke to see Netta at his bedside table, a datapad in hand and a frown on her lips. She didn’t notice he had awoken, and muttered one phrase: The past returns… When asked what had happened, Jessoin told them the tale, naturally leaving out the parts about Netta, last thing he wanted was for the Jedi to think that she had something to do with this. He described the torture, and how it felt as if his own emotions and memories were causing his body physical pain. The Jedi explained that it was a technique of the Dark Side, and likely, Jessoin was just chosen by the Force to be the target of this rogue Force user, to inform the Jedi that there was a threat to the Jedi at their own doorstep. It was also decided, that given the fact the he had survived a horrific series of torture and still remained stable, that the event would count as his trial of the Body. It took Jessoin nearly a year to recover from the intensive torture sessions, his body was wracked by achiness and stiffness for months, and it was deemed that he was in no condition to spar with the Battlemaster for his trial of Skill. Netta helped him with his recovery, the two not daring to touch each other though, not in the heart of the Jedi. It would be during one of his sessions to recover that the trial of Skill would come to him, and not him to it. One morning, Jessoin and Netta were walking together along a skyway between Coruscant’s towering structures, his master emphatic that they get out of the Temple, to show Jessoin that one could walk the streets of Coruscant still, and not be afraid. The Force had other plans for the Zelosian though. The pair were too deep into conversation about future plans to notice the speeder, or notice as its sole occupant leaped from the moving vehicle and let it smash into a building. A red lightsaber ignited, and Netta was impaled through the side before being pushed with the Force away from Jessoin. His own yellow blade snapped on and he turned to see the very Zabrak that had applied his tortures. The very Zabrak whom Jessoin had seen in his visions, the one who had also shared Netta with Jessoin. Without words the two clashed, Jessoin’s Makashi proved vital to his survival, as the woman clearly wasn’t the best of swordsmen. However, when in a jealous rage, it was apparent that the Zabrak had no intentions of fighting smartly, she wanted blood on her hands. Jessoin was barely able to continue blocking and parrying the woman’s attacks, the duel felt as if it lasted for years, even if it was merely minutes. The clash ended with the two combatants striking out at the same time. Jessoin’s lightsaber sliced clean into the woman’s abdomen, and she had used the Force to muster a mighty push that sent him flying into a light post, which stunned him greatly. He had hit his head so hard, that he could feel his mind trying to black out. His last vision, was that of Netta and the Zabrak trying to reach each other, and then nothing. Once more, he awoke in the exact same medical room as before, his body bruised, but otherwise unharmed. Once more, Netta was there for him to awake, and stood over his bed smiling. Her wounds had been healed, and because of his heroic effort to save a fellow Jedi, he had been granted the trial of Skill- Jessoin Zarander was now a full Jedi. Netta beamed at Jess as he stood among the other masters at his knighting ceremony, he bowed graciously and thanked the Jedi as they cleaved his padawan braid from his body. He had done it, he had passed the trials, and was now in his mind at equal levels with Netta… perhaps even enough to convince her to run away with him… That same night he was knighted, he found her in her quarters, and handed his Padawan braid to her. He told her he didn’t care what he had seen, he was still hers, and he would still do anything she asked of him… Transplanting (Knight to Acolyte) Just before his twenty-third birthday was when he was knighted by the Jedi. His life was changed only slightly by this. Like many Jedi, they kept up relationships with their former teachers, and Netta and Jessoin were now more freely able to do so. They would meet regularly in various places to give into their lustful desires, always certain not to have been followed, always certain not to be found out… After a few months of this, Jessoin just couldn’t take the secrecy anymore. He pleaded with Netta to run away with him, to leave Coruscant, to move to some backwater planet where they could live in peace. After a couple of days not seeing Netta after this, she finally showed up to his quarters, and agreed. They set a time and a place to meet, where they would leave Coruscant forever, and begin a true life together. Jessoin literally felt like time had crawled to a stop as he waited for the time to come… unfortunately, he didn’t realize that once more, Netta was merely playing him… Jessoin turned up to the warehouse down the street from a spaceport where they were supposed to meet. She wasn’t there yet, and he couldn’t sense her through the Force. Instead of her, he sensed a large group of people just outside the door… It hit him just as they began to pour through into the warehouse. Thugs brandishing vibroblades and blasters began to attack him. If Jessoin hadn’t been skilled in the arts of shielding, he would have been instantly cut down. Instead, he methodically dispatched the gang of thirteen attackers, each one being ended at the tip of his lightsaber. He couldn’t grasp what had happened. He was attacked where he was supposed to meet Netta, only one answer made sense to him. The same gang that ran with the Zabrak from before was here to extract revenge. He panicked, and realized that they must have gotten to Netta before him, and he had to save her, at any cost. Jess searched their bodies until he found a datapad that said where their ship was docked… at the very port just down the street. Lightsaber still ablaze he sprinted into the spaceport and ran right to the docking bay listed on the datapad. He careened into the port, and literally dropped his lightsaber at what he witnessed. Netta was wrapped up in the arms of a massive man, a scarred and muscle-bound brute, their mouths locked together. The rest of what happened was a haze within Jessoin’s mind. He could hear his voice, and could feel his veins throb and his mind roar. His voice slammed through the Force, waves of it flooding from his form as he stood there with clenched fists. Crates collapsed inwards, bones snapped from the other pirates in the hangar as they stumbled around and clenched their heads in agony. The Force roared only more and more through Jessoin as he cried out, the truth now all too apparent. She had played him. All these years, all those times their bodies lay together bare and open, nothing. They meant nothing. His now amber colored eyes turned to the pair, and his lightsaber flew to his hand and ignited. Jessoin charged them and cut down any pirate scum that tried to get in his way. They ran in fear right up the ship’s cargo ramp, and began to take off just as Jess had arrived to the ship. Even as they flew away he screamed and tossed crate after crate at them with the Force. After the ship was no longer in sight, Jessoin turned his fury to the remaining pirates that were left behind. He used the Force repeatedly to reach out and choke them, slamming the bodies as he pleased, screaming his agony out into the Force the entire time. Mere minutes it took for him to slaughter every person in the hangar, and unluckily, just in time for the Jedi to show up. They had felt his pain through the Force the minute he began his wonton slaughter, several concerned Jedi set out to aid their comrade. What they saw they weren’t prepared for, nor were they prepared for Jessoin to suddenly lash out at them. He began to attack them, the pure rage a drug to him as he slashed and stabbed, threw and choked. In the scuffle, Jessoin was disarmed, his lightsaber tossed aside. A particularly strong Force Push slammed Jessoin aside, and snapped him out of his rage. He looked at the slaughter around him, and the one Jedi he had slain… one of his comrades… one of the people who never saw who Netta was… he scrambled to his feet and ran for his life. A couple of the Jedi gave chase, but couldn’t catch him in time before he jumped into a speeder and shot out of the bay. Not more than an hour later he snuck onto a ship bound for Nar Shadaa, and left Coruscant for good… Flowering Stage (Acolyte to Apprentice) Upon arrival to Nar Shadaa, Jessoin was not entirely certain what to do. Everything had happened so fast. Netta’s betrayal, the slaughter, his leaving the Jedi… and the final insult was the fact that he never recovered his lightsaber… he was alone, weaponless, and friendless on one of the most dangerous places in the galaxy. It was clear that he would start from scratch here. Doing what? He didn’t know. But something had to be done. No one lived on Nar Shadaa without some sort of protection. He stayed hidden for a couple weeks amongst the various spaceports, stealing food as needed, and eventually even cracked open a crate to find a shipment of weapons. He took an Apex 10 pistol from the shipment. The weeks that followed, he used the machine pistol rather often. He no longer had to hide from everything he saw. Though he had only basic training in unarmed and basic firearms training from being a Jedi, he got plenty of practice in the slums of Nar Shadaa. Jessoin claimed an abandoned apartment to live in, and literally slept on the floor for weeks, living off of any food he could steal from restaurant dumpsters and from people on the street. Everyday his mind wandered to the past, the hollow ache of losing Netta and losing his life echoed, and ached, and stagnated within his mind. He didn’t hold back, he let his emotions flow outward and project, he didn’t both trying to hide it, he didn’t see the point. Who would notice? Someone did notice though. What most people would see by chance, Force users know is actually destiny working it’s hands into the lives of others. On Nar Shadaa, a group of Dark Jedi had formed a small commune, seven of them total. One of them, an Umbaran female by the name of Mephesa, felt Jessoin’s agony, his struggle… she found it delicious. She stalked him for days, following and watching the lost soul. One day she finally approached the Zelosian, and with a simple, sweet gesture and smile, Mephesa offered him some food, a smile, and a home. Jessoin was rather taken aback. After everything that had happened over the past couple months, that small amount of kindness took him in instantly. He agreed to come with them, already compelled to follow this Mephesa woman. Little did he know, that once again, he was being manipulated by another woman. The silky sheen of her white hair, the curve of her hips… and the subtle persuasions of yet another telepathy master made him believe that it was right thing to do. She began to explain that they were ostracized Force users, some former Jedi, some former Wardens of the Sky, even a Stellar Mythic- whatever that was. They had chosen Nar Shadaa simply because of its massive population, and lack of Jedi on it. She explained that she led this small group, and together, they taught each other everything they could, techniques that were forbidden, and skills not commonly known. What they didn’t know, was Mephesa was playing them all. Umbaran were natural manipulators, and one who was well versed in the arts of telepathy was even more adept at it. Jessoin felt as if he belonged with this group rather well, almost too well considering how little he knew this group. Not surprising… considering Mephesa was manipulating all of them this whole time. She personally began to teach Jessoin about destructive forms of the Force, having tested Jess on what he was good for. She helped him refine his Force Choke, as he once used it during his escape from Coruscant. She helped him use his emotions, to channel them into the Force itself, to let it empower him. It was intoxicating… The more time Jessoin spent with Mephesa, the more he felt a bond with the pale woman. She was elegant, dainty, and always in control. She was his anchor in a time where he didn’t know what the future held. Mephesa began to teach him how to channel the Force in more destructive ways, instructing him on how to throw pure energy in the form of lightning from his very hands. It felt so good to the Zelosian. For so long, he felt powerless, so powerless, and this woman was showing him how to be stronger, someone who can take care of things, and not someone that was less worthy than some space pirate scum. Over the years of them working and training together, Mephesa and Jessoin started getting close, Jessoin once again, was being manipulated, but Mephesa simply wanted a boy toy, and Jessoin was the best looking of their little group. The two didn’t necessarily have a relationship outside of a sexual one, at least Mephesa didn’t feel so. Naturally, Jessoin had begun to fall head over heels for the woman. She didn’t let him forget Netta though, all the time, she would ask him about her, letting his emotions build up before either training or sleeping together, further cultivating his dependency on emotions to empower himself. After years of training, Mephesa began to suggest that their little commune was planning to turn on them. Jessoin didn’t have any reason to doubt Mephesa, as she had been his lover for years now, while the other commune didn’t have too much to do with him, the pair primarily worked with each other. In this time, Jessoin had slowly began to work on another lightsaber, only problem was, materials for such was hard to find. Mephesa had a plan though. If the other commune members were planning to destroy them, why not destroy them first then use their lightsabers for parts? In the middle of the night, Mephesa and Jessoin went room to room in the apartment building where the commune lived. Between Mephesa’s lightsaber and Jessoin’s repeater, the others were dispatched quickly and quietly. Jessoin over the next few weeks carefully crafted his new lightsaber, once more choosing the curved hilt of a Makashi user, as well as the three crystals that the Force drew him to. When he snapped his new blade on, red light shone throughout the room. Jessoin didn’t see his mistress grinning maliciously as she watched the man she controlled gaze at his new weapon. Now that there was no one left but Mephesa and Jessoin, she began to toy with him more. They became even more physically active, and the whole time, Mephesa continued to warp Jessoin’s sense of reality. He became dependant on Mephesa, and didn’t even notice as her lessons became more and more cruel. She forced him to dig into the pain he has experienced in his time, and somehow amplified the pain to further push Jessoin’s output in the Force. She had already known about Jessoin using Force Scream from his tale, and she planned to further his use of it… and by using something he should have been familiar with, but he was too absorbed by the woman’s influence to truly notice: She began to use Torture by Chagrin more and more on him during his training, doing everything she could to push his boundaries and let him unleash hell through the Force. Despite the agony he was experiencing, Jessoin had been nearly completely brainwashed to actually enjoy the tortures, the dark side coursing through his body, the sheer amounts of power he felt he could wield, intoxicated him. Coupled with the rewards of physical pleasure afterwards, and Jessoin had become an addict, and Mephesa was his drug of choice now. Many years passed, and Jessoin had just turned thirty. Mephesa and himself had been living together and working together for so long now, that those that noticed the pair, always noticed the tall lanky man and the curvy white haired woman were together. They had continued to train together, Mephesa even taught him a small amount of Ataru, she figured that Jessoin’s natural grace and reach would pair well with the form, and Jessoin’s fighting style went from a mere fencer’s art, to a more energetic and unorthodox form, letting him be able to take on multiple opponents easier by keeping his body in motion instead of stationary. Mephesa had a plan though, to fully make sure Jessoin was her pawn, she needed for him to confront the other person who he still loved, despite what happened. Even though Jessoin still adored Netta, he also was at his peak in the dark side when the Chagrin forced him to remember her. While still keeping Jessoin’s skills sharp, and trying to keep them escalating, she sent out feelers for a year until around the time Jessoin turned thirty-one, Mephesa had a present for him: The location of Netta. She was on Nal Hutta, so close to them this whole time. Jessoin left immediately to confront her. To say Netta and her now criminal underworld boss were surprised to wake up to see Jessoin at the foot of their bed would be an understatement. Jessoin used the Force to fry Netta’s man alive, laughing as he watched the pirate could do nothing except writhe, wither, then die. Right before the pirate expired, Jessoin turned his at the time amber colored eyes to Netta and watched her face as he plunged his lightsaber into the usurper’s chest. He couldn’t help but continue grinning as he stepped onto the bed and walked to stand over Netta, he laughed to himself as she pleaded, begged, cried for him to spare her. Jessoin choked her with the Force until she turned purple. He felt her death in the Force, the sheer pressure of the event literally made Jess fall to his feet, and the sensation stunned him. He cried. He screamed. He laughed. He felt ecstasy, sheer, unbridled enthusiasm. The dark side now poured into him, and he let it. He let it fill his heart and soul. There was no greater feeling, than knowing he had power, that he had control. He was no longer just someone to be used. So he thought. When he returned to Mephesa, he emphatically thanked the woman for taking him on, and how he had never felt more power than he did now. Their love that night was the best either had ever had. As they laid there in bed, damp with sweat, Mephesa gave Jessoin some news: There was a way for them to gain more power, more than they could ever imagine- the Sith had returned to Korriban. And they were recruiting. After mugging enough people to afford the charters needed to get to Korriban, Mephesa and Jessoin left Nar Shadaa together. It took weeks for them to arrive, but when they did, they were both stunned to see Korriban, the sheer amount of Force energies that radiated from it was intense. The shuttle pilot broadcasted who was on the shuttle, and strangely they were directed to somewhere besides the basic shuttle platforms. Bloom – Present Greeted by the then Darth Renata and her students, Zarander passed his first test when she commanded the new initiates to fight for their spot in the Order. Jessoin hesitated, but Mephesa did not. She fell, and he ascended to the rank of Sith Initiate. The Sith recognized his potential, and over the next several years the Zelosian met with both great successes and tragic failures. Yet despite those, Renata did not betray nor cast him aside, instead raised him as her right hand man and executor of her will. Though resistant to the camaraderie for the first couple years, the bountiful knowledge, assets and allies offered by the Order ultimately won him over. Once his loyalty was secured, Renata gifted him with the very first lightsaber he had created. Jess never thought he’d see the lost weapon again, yet somehow his Darth’s reach went as deep as Coruscant, and through means unknown the Zelosian was reunited with a piece of himself. After several more years of dutiful service and outstanding acts of heroism for the Empire, Jessoin Zarander was welcomed into the Inner Sanctum. Renamed Darth Solis, his baptism came with access to the coveted Sith Archives. The holocrons and artifacts held within were wondrous, and he didn’t leave the chamber for several days. He fed off the pervading darkness of Korriban, combing through the taboo and forgotten secrets. This continued for many weeks, with Renata being the only one who could bring him from the depths to do his duty. Here Solis truly found sovereignty, and a rare technique few knew of and fewer could apply. The key came in the form of an ancient lightsaber, a curved hilt forged of wrought iron, the Force quaked when it was taken at hand. Honed gold sang from the emitter, and the crystal’s presence clicked into the Darth’s. The Sith closed his eyes, and raised his hands. The four lightsabers drifted about him, and then ignited one by one. Cyan, crimson and chartreuse light joined the golden shimmer, and for the first time in his life, Solis felt complete. But at a price. The holocron which had guided him to the lightsaber sung louder, and a powerful presence bled into his essence within the Force. His skin became ashen, his veins grew dark and his eyes altered to the searing red seen today. The change was not limited in appearance, as his aura gained a keen depth. He began to dream of the void, a perfect triangle of darkness which called him towards it. At first limited to sleep, Solis eventually began to feel it sing to him when awake. Using his connections with the Cult of Truth and Mysteries, the Darth concocted a ritual to keep whatever malevolent force within him at bay. Requiring a blood sacrifice, they created a small group of Imperials from both Order and Aristocracy to prepare and execute it. Always with a willing sacrifice, all but Solis believe it to be a ritual meant to empower Her Radiance, which in the zelosian’s eyes is true. Having found his calling, and his following, he now prefers to attend to his duties. Mingling with the rich and famous, solidifying ties between both ruling factions, and maintaining peace within the Empire. Darth Solis is the Jade Pillar, and will uphold what he helped establish. |
