lol I better clarify something here when I started mentioning Guild Wars, I was speaking of how BioWare seeks to make SWtOR a very cinematic MMO with an NPC buddy system, which is something that Guild Wars did beautifully. The only thing Guild Wars really lacked was player choice, because you were still playing a set, linear storyline. But what was great about it was because it was so cinematic while it focused on your player character it gave you the feeling that, yeah, you are the one who quite literally just saved the world, as it showed your character involved in the cool cinematics with voice-acted dialogue. That's what Guild Wars brought to the MMO genre that no other MMO has, however, BioWare is saying not only are we going to do that, we're going to add the dimension of choice that will have great impact on your character's storyline. That's definitely something new. But, as for the no monthly fees like Guild Wars, I highly doubt it, nor was it ever mentioned anywhere that SWtOR would not have monthly fees. It will likely have a monthly fee. I'd be blown away if it was suddenly announced there were no monthly fees. Edit: SWtOR Classes (clicky, clicky) - Click the link and select "Combat Tactics" in the class you selected to take a gander at, and you'll see a short clip of the actual gameplay for that class (minus the UI, they haven't unveiled what the UI will look like yet). The recent Smuggler one is really good as it will give you a sense of type of combat will also be involved outside what originally appeared like a smoother version of KotOR's gameplay.

Ripped from the main sites forum: Everyone at BioWare and EA is working to ensure that Star Wars: The Old Republic is delivered at the quality level you expect from BioWare and Star Wars.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is expected to launch this year after the close of EA's fiscal 2011 (which ends March 31st, 2011). Information on the release date and pre-order programs will be released as it becomes available. We should be seeing more on it by the end of this month, having my fingers crossed. I still have a receipt from my WoW:Cataclysm buy, where I actually spent 5 dollars to preorder TOR, which Gamestop claimed was in "our systems" for January 1st. Damn buggers jipped me of 5 dollars. We got anyone whos going to play? People who refuse to pay monthly can keep their displeasure at the door, we don't care. GAME DISCUSSION TIME! I've seen various videos on the main site and I have to love the cinematics and voice acting. It really draws you in Mass Effect style but with BioWare, its to be delightfully expected. As we look, its quite clear that this won't be favored around the Force users, which a lot of people were concerned about. Videos below give a example of what the game will look like and some of the classes that are playable and what have you. -Republic Videos- Jedi Knight www.swtor.com/media/trailers/jedi-knightSmuggler www.swtor.com/media/trailers/smugglerTrooper www.swtor.com/media/trailers/trooper-Sith- Sith Warrior www.swtor.com/media/trailers/sith-warriorAgent www.swtor.com/media/trailers/imperial-agent-Other- www.swtor.com/media/trailersFor those who like to read and get more indepth, this link is for you. So is it actually going to based on monthly payments? I've been looking around and haven't been able to find any concrete evidence going any way. Obviously, I'd prefer the way Guild Wars does it, where you buy the game once and that's it, but I play WoW, not Guild Wars, so I suppose I'm susceptible to monthly fees. I've also been hearing that it might be based on micro-transactions.

It is hard to say either way what it will be like but I know that I m going to pay if I have to. It looks great and I think that by now we all can see that. Thing is I am worried about it dieing. Although it has been said to me by my friends if anything can keep a MMO going it is hardcore fans. I know that starwars has a hardcore fanbase so if anything can keep this game alive it will be the fans so let's all keep an open mind and See what happens when it comes to having to pay or not. ( I have looked around but there is nothing for sure yet I don't think. )

Jedi, I'm happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Sith have handed your robed butt to you 2/3 times now. And you had to god mod to win that encounter. Dark side is best side. Hurradurra I use teh Force to block teh sabers. Couldn't even win with a double bladed and single blade dual wield. Sobad. Get some skill before comin' up in our shizzle, SITH4LYFE. Malgus ftw. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va__SYE8zSk
