Elav almost scoffed at Keton's question about his "first day on
the job" and suddenly felt like punching the man on the arm. It
didn't last however and he let out a chuckle of relief. He was
impressed that his master could had managed to snap out of it
and climb to his feet so quickly; the Twi'lek was skilled at healing,
but even so Keton had to be even tougher than the Padawan
had originally thought.
Elav's hands were still twitching from the adrenaline and holding
onto the handlebars so tightly, but he ignored it. The Twi'lek
tossed his tchun over his shoulder and tightened the leather
straps keeping his lekku in place. "I'm fine master... but
you should really take it easy..." Elav let the sentence trail off as
the back-up they had called for finally arrived. The Republic
military dropship set down smoothly and then several soldiers
filed out. Elav just watched, suddenly too tired to do anything
besides stand there and try to catch his breath. All in all though,
Keton was acting like this sort of thing happened to him every
day - the thought was exhausting. If this is the way it's
going to be, I'll never feel well-rested... not ever again.[/i]
Elav knew the thought wasn't a rational one, but he felt that way
nevertheless, resigned to a life of hectic chases, followed by
languid drowsiness.
Elav stood by, listening without comment to the events transpiring
around him. He held up his master's comlink after the Republic
Admiral to whom the soldiers belonged finished speaking. Keton
took it from his hand, giving the Admiral a response that wasn't
much unexpected, at least to his Padawan's mind. Tekal must've
been enjoying himself a little, casting one of his trademark winks
at the Ilarith boy. Elav noticed, but only passively so; his mind
was still on the events that had lead up that moment, with Keton
once again exchanging verbal sparring with someone that most
people wouldn't cross. It was almost like nothing significant had
happened inbetween. Elav knew that history repeated itself, but
it was a little... soon for that... wasn't it?
