Keton's eyes narrowed as he scanned the crowd infront of him. The bastard was somewhere in the massive throng of bodies shuffling about. He'd just witnessed the man hold up an entire family with a blaster, stealing everything they had in their possession, and since he'd been away from the public in a dark corner, the man had decided to get rid of the witnesses and he had executed each of the family one after another.
This brought up a fit of rage within the Jedi that he pressed down inside of him, but an audible grunt had issued forth and alerted the man that he was being watched and he'd taken off into the crowd, leaving Keton in his current predicament.
He could feel his anger clouding his thoughts, and knew it was the reason for his trouble locating the man. Calm Keton...relax...just like Anduin tought you...breathe...use the force to control your emotions... He could already feel his emotions beginning to settle as he let the force flow through his body, rejuvinating every nerve ending. And then his eyes snapped open, a small smirk twinging the corners of his lips.
"Gotcha..."
He then shot forward, his body silent as he easily slipped through the suffocating crowd of people around him. With natural grace he ducked and dodged elbows, and even knees of the taller species, moving through the crowd with the same amount of speed as if they weren't even there.
He was getting closer, he could see the man infront of him, trying to blend in with the people around him. Little did the man know that he'd just committed a serious crime infront of a Jedi, not only that but a Jedi with a vigilante streak. Keton didn't like the Jedi's stance on many things, but he hated their laid back attitude when it came to the crime that was going on in the galaxy, he felt that with his abilities, came the responsibility to protect every person that he could, and to bring justice to those that brought pain to others.
He knew he was an unorthodox Jedi, and he knew most of the other Jedi looked down on him for it, to be honest he really couldn't care less.
He quickly ducked his left shoulder down and gritted his teeth as he summoned the force into his body and slammed his left shoulder into the man's back, sending him sprawling forward onto the ground before sliding a good ten feet forwards. Some of the people around him stopped to see what was going on, and when the man rolled over, anger blazing in his eyes and blaster pistol present in his hand, it sent the crowd around them into a frenzy as they scrambled to clear the area, not wanting to become another Corellian crime statistic.
Keton's eyes held a glare as he watched the man, not making a move for his lightsaber yet, the man was harmless enough even with the blaster.
"Why did you do it?...they did nothing to you...you had their money and possessions...you could have just left them alone...but you had to kill them...why?" He asked, the anger apparent in his voice as he fought to control it.
The man's face went to a wide grin, "Because...they didn't give it over quicker....and now since you can't mind your own business...I'm gonna have to kill you as well.." The man growled as he leveled his blaster pistol at the Jedi's head.
A pulse went through the force, and Keton quickly stepped to the side, the blaster bolt missing him completely. There was another pulse and he sidestepped to the left this time, missing another bolt. Keton waited for the pulse again and snapped to the right this time, all the while moving closer and closer to the man, and all the while causing the man to grow angrier and sloppier with his shooting.
Finally Keton was a mere yard away, he waited for the pulse and then sidestepped, snapping his right hand forward to grip the man's wrist, he then shot the palm of his left hand up and forwards, slamming it into the bottom of the man's elbow, forcing it upwards until he could hear the bones snap, causing the man to drop the blaster pistol with a loud scream of agony. Then he quickly pulled his left elbow to the side, slamming it into the side of the man's head, instantly causing him to lose consciousness and fall to the ground.
Keton let out a sigh as he looked down at the man's unconscious form, shaking his head at him, noticing for the first time the tell-tale signs of the man's body of death stick use. "The lengths addicts will go to get their fix..." He said, sadness apparent in his icy blue eyes. He then turned and sat on the man's unconscious form, resting his elbows on his knees as he waited for the authorities to arrive and put the man where he belonged.

"Battery seven ready." "Battery nine, ready." "Engines are in the green." A rumble from the back of the room confirmed this. Flashing amber beacons were the only source of light in the entire room. "We have shields, admiral." Kiqua nodded, looking out of the command tower.
"Lieutenant, are the crew all aboard?" The man looked down at a list before typing in a code to the computer systems. A message appeared with his answer. "All present aboard, admiral." She nodded. Looking to the left she found Commander returning from below decks. "Hanger bay, commander?" "All fighters present and accounted for, admiral." Kiqua smiled. The ship was massive, and old. Very old. She felt very special to have been given command of it however. It was a Republic Command Ship, but was modified with the latest technology. She pulled up a microphone from her desk on the bridge.
"OK, checks are finished. At ease, crew." Her voice echoed throughout the multi-kilometer ship. The amber lights flickered before being replaced by white ceiling lights. The planet of Corellia was more visible now out the front screen. She'd got just about everything she needed now. Ship, crew, rank - all she needed now was a mission. Something to do, but the radio had been dead for days. No orders, no nothing. She slumped back into her chair, twiddling her thumbs.

Elav Ilarith stepped off the public transport and thanked the pilot out of reflex. The other passengers gave him a funny look before going their seperate ways.
No one said "thank you" to public servants, especially if they were only a droid. Elav stood on the landing platform and studied the area around him, a deafening gust enveloping him as the the transport took off to start its rounds again. Corellia was surprisingly beautiful; Elav had expected the planet's surface to be much more industrialized. He took his datapad from his pocket and started slowly on his way.
Elav's 'pad told him that the Corellians kept the heavy industrial factories and such on stations orbiting the planet. So that's what that was... he remembered seeing several orbiting space stations on the way there. The Twi'lek put his datapad away and focused more on getting through the crowds. Corellians by nature it seemed, had a need to constantly feed their own ego. They seemed to take pride in the serious streak of cockiness they were known for. One of the ways they displayed this pride, Elav soon discovered, was by walking around in a manner that put it upon everyone else to negotiate the crowded streets by either changing their direction or their pace. Just plain rude. Elav thought to himself.
Of course, it wasn't so difficult for Elav to navigate in the crowds. He had spent nearly three years living with the Barabel on their homeplanet Barab I. He had learned many things there, including how to move with the fluid grace and speed the reptiles' had displayed. The Twi'lek stepped lightly, using every muscle in his legs to slip through the crowd, turning his shoulders this way and that to avoid clipping someone as he moved past.
After several minutes the density of the crowds thinned and allowed Elav to quicken his pace. He was supposed to be reporting to a Jedi Knight by the name of Keton Tekal. The incident with the youth's previous master Khael Ravencrow had led to the Jedi Council assigning him to a new master. His datapad carried these orders, and he was to present them to Tekal when he located the man.
Suddenly, Elav felt a disturbance in the Force - and it was nearby. His left hand hovered over the spot on his belt where his shoto laid, he felt he might need to parry a few blaster bolts with it soon - and he was partly correct. The Force warned him of danger even as he heard the sounds of a scuffle up ahead. Then people started to scramble. Elav flinched when several blaster bolts lit the sky, his shoto snapping up into his hand via telekinesis.
But, by the time Elav reached the scene, the disturbance was over. He saw two men, one pinning the other down with his weight and the other seemed to be unconscious, a blaster on the pavement not far from him. Wait, is that him? Elav dropped his left hand to his side and drew out his datapad with his right and brought up the information he had been given on his soon-to-be new master. Yep, that's him alright. Well, I guess now is as good a time as any to introduce myself. Plus, I can find out what happened just now.
Elav approached the red-haired man who was muttering something to the unconscious form beneath him. "You must be Tekal; Keton Tekal? The Council has sent me to find you. I brought the orders with me." Elav approached Keton and extended the datapad to him, waiting to see how his new master would react.

He reached up to scratch the back of his neck as he waited. He knew CorSec were slow, but he didn't realize that it took them ages to respond to shots being fired. "And they wonder why crime does nothing but grow on this planet..." He said softly, shaking his head before he noticed a Twi'lek male walking towards him. Keton tilted his head to the right slightly as he watched him approach, eyeing the datapad in the Twi'lek's hand.
Tell me this isn't what I think it is...please Force let this not be what I think it is... Then he heard that the Council had sent the boy and he issued an internal groan. He pretty much had an idea of what the orders were going to be before he even took a look at the datapad. "Yeah I'm Keton.." He said as he took the pad from him and flicked it on, his eyes scanning over the information infront of him.
It was true, he'd been given a Padawan to instruct. Great, he was by far one of the youngest Knights, and not much older than this Padawan here, yet he was expected to train him? He knew why the Council had decided to give him a Padawan, he knew that they felt he was far too quick to leap, and they had the idea that placing someone under his charge would cause him to be a bit more responsible. It's too bad Keton was of the 'sink or swim' mindset when it came to teaching.
He let out a long sigh before finally looking up at the Twi'lek, studying him for the first time now. After a moment he finished his inspection and stood up, breaking into a grin now, extending his hand forward, "It seems I am your new master.....so...exactly how far along in your training are you? I know I'm not your first master..." He said, and then noticed him eyeballing the unconscious man on the ground, "Thief and a murderer....I'm just waiting on CorSec to come and pick him up..."

Elav took Keton's extended hand, noting the man's strength of grip as they shook hands. He didn't quite know how to answer the question Keton had posed to him. 'Yeah, so I got in some trouble and now the Council is punishing me by carting me off to study under a Knight that seems to have been brushed under the carpet.' Somewhere in the back of his mind, Elav wanted to utter those words, but he thought better of it of course.
"There was a ...situation with my training. I'm nineteen, but the Council wants me to wait before I think about preparing for testing as a Knight, which is fine by me." He shrugged, mentally kicking himself for allowing his emotions to color his interaction with his new master. You might have been told a little about him, but there's always more to people than you'd think. This man deserves your respect, so shape up. He managed a pleasant enough smile in response to Keton's.
Elav looked Keton in the eye again "It's all there, on the 'pad... master." he said. He thought about that too. The Council had sent his orders for re-assignment along with him, carrying the official record of his thus-far flawed chronicle as a Jedi right there on his own datapad. They must've done it to teach him a lesson in humility, to discipline him so that he'd never forget that the Jedi Order held first place in his life.
He looked down at the man laying there. He had a broken arm, Elav could tell by the odd angle it rested in, and because of his experience in the Ilarith family trade. He nodded at Tekal's explanation and wondered just how long it took CorSec to respond to incidents like this.

He watched him thoughtfully for a moment. So he was only two years younger than Keton, this was the closest in age he'd heard of between a master and his student. "I see..." he said thoughtfully, reaching up scratch at the stubble of hair on his chin. "Well let this be your first lesson then....being a Knight is nothing more than simply having the title of Knight....it doesn't mean you are a better Jedi than others who are not Knights...it doesn't mean you have finished your training...it means nothing more than a title...so don't be dismayed that the Council wishes to put off your trials...if anything it will give you more time to grow as a Jedi and make you better prepared to drop their jaws when the time finally comes.." He said with a smile.
He knew how he was feeling, the anxiousness, the readiness to become a Knight and prove yourself in the galaxy, all this was still fresh in the young Jedi's mind. He also remembered when the Council had almost denied him Knighthood because of his age, though he'd passed the trials with flying colors. Everyone that knew Keton, also knew that he was not the greatest of fans of the Council, but he respected them nonetheless because they were his superiors and they had given him everything, his life as a Jedi, a home to live in since he was a child, everything, without the Council he would have been a poor orphan child, possibly resulting in a life of crime, they had saved him from that.
He tossed the datapad back to the Twi'lek, he didn't need to read the boy's history, that was his business alone and if he felt like sharing it with Keton, then he would when the time came."No...that's not what I meant...here...draw your weapon...I want to see what you can do..." He said, taking a step back, his posture relaxed as he folded his arms across his chest, not bothering to reach for his own weapon. "Try to hit me...give it everything you've got.."
Keton's specialty was lightsaber combat. He spent every free moment that he had training with his blade, it was just apart of him as any limb on his body. There were few Jedi who could truely hold their own against him in a lightsaber fight, though should tactics switch to force powers he would be supremely over-matched. He knew the boy was not going to like him very much at first, Keton's training tactics were rough to say the least, but they would work, he would teach him to be a warrior, not just a warrior, but one of the best.

Elav blinked. "Uhh, alright..."
He wasn't so sure they should be sparring in public, or that he himself should be sparring at all while feelings of uncertainty were still bothering him. But, noting the waiting expression on his master's features, he shrugged and took a slightly wider stance, raising up on his toes ever so slightly.
Elav tugged at his primary lightsaber via telekinesis and it snapped straight up into his right hand. He made a tiny step forward with his left foot before bringing his right leg out ahead of him. He stepped forward onto his right foot and initiated a counter-clockwise spin, finally igniting his icy-blue lightsaber, swinging it around with him to where it would slash at the center of Keton's chest.

A soft chuckle came forth as he saw the uneasiness and uncertainty in Elav's eyes. "Don't think about it just do it..." He said, his voice soft but his eyes stern. He then watched as Elav set into motion coming towards him.
He watched the boy's movements, he was naturally quick and agile, that much was certain. His movements seemed alot more fluid than the average padawan, good he had been giving the perfect piece of clay to mold. He could feel the force moving through him as well, though not nearly as much as the boy needed for a move such as this. Lightsaber combat was all about speed and precision, and the force is vital to both, it has to be channeled constantly throughout the fight, fed through the nerve endings and muscle groups to keep your synapses firing at lightning quick speed.
His eyes shot to the boy's feet as he led forward with his left foot, making his next move almost obvious, and a small smirk tweaked at his lips as he watched the boy perform the exact move he had been guessing he would have.
As Elav was in mid-spin, with his back facing Keton, Keton simply leaned to the left at an almost impossible angle, using the force to keep him upright, he then arched his right shoulder far backwards out of the arc of the swing, watching as the tip of the blade went by infront of him. "Use the force to fuel your movements...and quit indicating...the small step with your left foot made your next move obvious, as well as the dip in your shoulders..." He said as the boy would surely be spinning nearly out of control with his missed swing.
"Also...you're putting too much thought into your actions...don't think about it...just let the force guide you...it knows far more about combat than either of us...now...try it again..." He said, uprighting himself, still with his arms crossed over his chest.
He knew that he might be beginning to frustrate Elav, but this was a part of the training, if he couldn't take criticism then this was going to be a long journey for him indeed. The CorSec were growing close, he could feel them, so he didn't have much time left to get an early estimate of his new pupil and he wanted to know everything about the boy's abilities so far.

Until further orders came... That was how long she was supposed to stay floating over Corellia. She had one of the largest ships in the Republic Navy, and she was hanging around a planet waiting to be told where to go. The first order she had been given in days, and it was not one that sat well with her at this moment. Slamming her fist down on the arm of her chair, she stood up and approached the railings. Corellia stared at her through the windows. It was so large, there must surely be something happening that she could be needed for.
Even I have heard about this planet's crime problems. They have a massive ship in the vicinity and the only hailing we've had from the planet is one telling us the crew are being sent aboard. She sighed, pacing slightly. There was certainly more to this Admiral position than she seemed to remember. The amount of waiting was almost unbearable. She almost wished she were back in her days in the lower ranks when they fought pirates frequently.
Exhaling, she nodded to one of the senior officers on the bridge before exiting through the blast doors and following the corridor towards her chambers. As the head officer on board this vessel, her sleeping quarters were much closer to the bridge than most of the others. Other officers were slightly far away, and the rest of the crew resided over the massive ship in areas relative to their professions. Finally she found herself in a clean, smooth room with a relaxing melody playing softly in the background. She trudged over to the bed and let herself fall into it's embrace.
I bet my father didn't have to put up with this waiting flarg.

Elav expected Keton to either block or sidestep his spinning slash, his master had told him to basically take his best shot so he doubted he would be countered with an attack. Since he had now completed his maneuver and hadn't felt the resistance of a block, he knew it had been the latter. He was used to it though, his previous master Ravencrow had liked to employ such evasion, and sometimes it had even been acrobatic in nature.
He heard his master's words as he swung past and made a mental note to work on disguising his movements better in the future. Elav knew better than to try to immediately halt his motion, he needed to slow his momentum first. To accomplish this he stepped back down with his left foot, toes first, and then lowered himself down until he could use his heel to gradually bring his spin to a halt. He brought his right foot in from the side, letting the sole of his boot drag ever so slightly until the braking maneuver was completed.
Elav straightened his stance as he listened to his new master's instructions, bringing his lightsaber down to his side. He was frustrated but he tried not to show it. Elav was on the verge of mastering Shii-Cho, and his Makashi skills were far from weak. He had been counting on his speed and agility but now he started to wonder if he should've started with a more traditional Makashi style attack.
He's right. I need to let the Force fuel my movements. That was mostly physical energy I used just now, and if I keep fighting like that I won't last long in a serious duel. Master Ravencrow was always telling me that.[/i]
It was a good thing he hadn't tried to use both of his lightsabers, he wasn't that skilled in Jar-kai yet and it probably would've ended in his humiliation. He pondered that and was surprised to find that he didn't really know how to give his 'best shot.' Elav was defensively-minded and found it difficult to take charge or lead the attack. In his sparring matches with his previous master, he had always responded to attack, using the Force to shield himself or finding a way to angle his movements so that he could evade or counter-attack.
You're expecting him to act like master Khael. [/i] Elav admitted to himself. He nodded, looking Tekal in the eye to show he was paying attention. The concept of 'not thinking about it' was very foreign to him - but, he would try to rely more on his connection to the Force. He felt a new sense of conviction wash over him, he could feel the uncertainty that had been clinging to him start to dissapate.
Keton had given him no reason to doubt his ability as a teacher; yes, he felt there was much to learn from him. And he knew it wouldn't be easy.
"Yes master Tekal, I'll try not to overthink it this time. I will let the Force fuel my movements, just as you say." Elav smiled, he could feel the Force stir with renewed energy inside him already.

He smiled as he listened to Elav speak. Good he was making progress already with him, this was turning out to be a far better circumstance than he'd originally thought it would be. Turns out he'd been given a very promising pupil, which made Keton nearly giddy with the thought. "Excellent...now...the hardest thing about trying to keep from thinking about your movements is that you'll end up concentrating on them even more because of it...you have to open up and just give yourself over to the Force, you don't control your body any longer, it's the force's to control...you are simply watching yourself do the motions..."
He knew that explanation still wouldn't help him as much, "Here's a better way to put it.....you breathe without having to think about it...yet now when I bring it up to you, I imagine you're already regulating your breathing on your own just from the thought...it's the same way your body works...you start thinking about your movements and you seize control from the force....now see that you've started paying attention more to my words and forgot about your breathing? Notice how your body naturally took over and kept it at a steady even pace without your doing? It's the same concept...focus your mind on the task at hand, not on the means of accomplishing it.."
The CorSec were only a block away now, there wasn't much time and he wanted to instill this last lesson into Elav before the suits showed up and ruined any chance of some pre-training. He stepped back once more, keeping his arms across his chest, though he had an idea he might have to move a bit faster this time to evade Elav's attack. "Now.....try to hit me again....let the force guide you..." He said softly, watching the boy intently.
He had to be careful with this, he knew Elav wouldn't be a match for him in an actual fight, but Elav was quick and Keton hadn't even drawn his weaponm, and with his arms over his chest there was that much more movement to have to contend with before he could pose a block with his blade should he need to. Keton had amazingly fast reflexes and moved faster than most people could keep up with, but he would have to stay on his toes this time, otherwise his training lesson with his pupil could turn ugly quick.

"So, don't think about it, just let muscle memory and the Force take care of it?" It wasn't really a question, more of a way to put it into his own words and phrase it in the simplest way possible- repitition aids the memory afterall.
Elav bowed his head in concentration, cupping his chin with his forefinger and thumb, a habit he'd picked up from his time at home with the Ilarith clan. His master's words made sense; he knew full-well how the humanoid body functioned, including the physiology of a few other species.
He looked back up at Keton: "So if I focus on what I want to accomplish rather that how to accomplish it, the Force will take on the role of a catalyst of sorts for the skills I possess. Interesting. I've heard that before, but not in such clear terms. Ok, I think I'm ready now." Elav gave a slight smile, he liked it when he was able to find clarity.
The Twi'lek faced Keton side on, his lightsaber pointing towards the Jedi Knight and downwards in a low guard that painted the pavement beneath him in icy-blue hues. He adjusted his footing so that his feet were shoulder width apart. The Padawan gripped the curved hilt of his lightsaber with his thumb pointing down the length of the blade to give him tighter control and greater accuracy.
He had been practicing Form II long enough that all of this was reflexive, taking him all of about three seconds notwithstanding the fact that Elav was focusing on letting the Force flow through him and carry him along on its currents.
The Padawan whipped his lightsaber upwards in a tight arc to distract his new master's attention as he raised up (on both feet this time) and shifted forwards to feign a thrust at Keton's chest. Elav could feel the Force flowing through him in a way that he had only felt on relatively few occasions before. It felt as if he were dancing rather than using combat moves. Elav had never felt the ebb and flow of the Force guiding both his footing and his lightsaber in this way. Accomplishing both at the same time was an eye-opening experience for him.
Just as soon as he had advanced forward and feigned a thrust, Elav was already retreating backwards, following a single line back-and-forth with his footwork in perfect balance. He let the lightsaber continue the sequence of attack, flowing back down and to the left in a semi-circle. This made it appear as if he was preparing to execute a stab at Keton's abdomen. But, in fact, as soon as his wrist straightened for the thrust, Elav deactivated his lightsaber in a Trakata stratagem by sliding his thumb over the activation switch.
The ice-blue blade winked out and then came back to life as Elav brought his lightsaber's hilt up to his left ear and switched hands as he initiated a counter-clockwise twirl by once again turning on his heels. The Padawan felt the Force heighten the speed of his movements into a blur as he reached the apex of his spin and swept his lightsaber across in a dramatic jung ma maneuver he suddenly remembered reading about while studying in the Jedi library on Coruscant. Elav was confident it would force his master to either block or use a sai to jump over the attack, rather than simply lean out of the way as he had done before.

Keton watched his movements, studying every aspect as Elav prepared his attack. His eyes shone brightly as he noticed Elav not only taking his advice, but applying it with exceptional skill. He hadn't expected him to catch on this quickly, this was very surprising to him. He was beginning to feel very comfortable with training Elav, he met and exceeded every bit of criteria that Keton might have for a padawan, this was definately the start of a great friendship between them, that much was certain.
Keton closed his eyes as Elav started in on his counter-clockwise spin. He let himself fall into the soothing tendrils of the force, letting it wash over his entire being. He could feel Elav's lightsaber growing closer, it almost seemed as if time slowed down to a screeching halt around him. Seconds felt like years as he waited for the blade to get closer, already it was growing alarmingly close, Elav might even get the sense that he was actually going to end up striking his master down.
Suddenly with a motion so quick that it barely even left a blur, Keton's lightsaber seemed to almost appear in his hands, the pure white pearlescant blade shooting straight upwards into the air as he turned his body to the left. The blade activated at the exact millisecond before Elav's blade would have passed over it, causing Elav's blade's forward momentum to suddenly be ceased as it met the resistance of Keton's own blade. All of this would almost have been too quick for Elav to follow, and the sudden stopping of his attack would surely stagger him a bit.
Finally Keton's eyes opened and a wide grin broke onto his lips, "Great job...I am truely impressed that you applied it that quickly...I have no doubt you are going to become an incredible warrior.." He said, keeping the smile on his face. He wanted Elav to feel proud of himself, he'd always hated when his own master had given him nothing but harsh criticism and no praise, the morale of a person could never recover if nothing nice was said to them.
It was then that he heard the footsteps that he knew was the CorSec guards that had finally shown up. He thumbed the activation switch on his blade and turned towards them. "Ah...Officer Le'laine....nice to see you again.." He said, though his voice didn't sound entirely pleasant.
"You again...don't you have something better to do than police the streets yourself? You know we are here for a reason..." Le'laine replied, annoyance heavy in his voice.
"....yeah? Well if I didn't have to worry about you guys taking forever to respond to a call then I wouldn't have to take it upon myself.....this man killed an entire family and would have escaped if it wasn't for me, and on top of that..." He said, peering at his own personal datapad, "It took you nearly twenty minutes to respond since his first shots were fired at me.....maybe I should bring my concerns to the Corellian government? I'm sure they'd like to know that it takes nearly a half hour for Corellia's finest to protect them..." Keton said, his eyes icy.
The officer said nothing as he glared at the Jedi. He opened his mouth for a reply but no sound issued forth. An audible grunt was then issued as the man turned on his heel and walked towards the unconscious criminal.
A smirk spread to Keton's lips for a moment before he turned back to Elav, "So...are you hungry?" He asked, as if the previous exchange had never happened.

Elav felt the kinetic force of his swing meet heavy resistance and then rebound slightly from Keton's timely and well-placed block. He tottered backwards and held his arms out to help him regain his balance. He wasn't used to moving quite as fast as he had just been, and he hadn't expected Keton to block him so definitively... so sternly.
Elav righted himself and returned his lightsaber to his belt, the thought of his former master once again coming to his mind. Ravencrow had been a fan of using the concept of the Flowing Water Cut with his blocks, usually causing Elav to continue right on by him as he checked the Padawan's blade. Apparently, his new master Keton was a believer in stronger, more clear-cut techniques. Elav should have guessed as much.
The Twi'lek dusted himself off, smiling at the commendation Tekal was giving him. He looked up at his master, and then past him to the CorSec Officers approaching them.
Elav was surprised when Keton addressed the officer by name, and surprised further by the comments Le'laine -the CorSec Officer in charge- made. He looked at the back of Keton's red- haired head and thought The man's got a vigilante streak, I should've guessed that too.[/i] He wondered for a second if Keton could hear his thoughts, but decided that telepathy probably wasn't really his style.
Elav listened to his master berate the officer and tried not to show his amusement. My thoughts exactly.[/i] It took a second for Elav to process the question Keton then posed to him as Le'laine stalked off, bent down, and proceeded to bag-and-tag the blaster still laying there on the pavement. He looked back to Keton, but before he could respond Le'laine interrupted.
"I wouldn't go making any immediate plans." the man said as his men carried the criminal back the short distance to the vessel they had arrived in. Elav frowned at the CorSec Officer's smirking face.
"You two will be coming with us for an... interview on the circumstances leading up to you playing vigilante and using excessive force to... apprehend the criminal suspect." Le'laine was looking at Keton now. "You understand, gotta make sure the forms get filled out and filed correctly." The man chuckled to himself "C'mon now, you wouldn't want the public to witness two Jedi refusing to cooperate with law enforcement would you?" he said, placing his hands on his hips.

Kiqua laid back kicking the side of her foot against the wall. She could hear the echo on the inside of the wall. She tapped further up and the echo ceased. There must be a pipe there. She stopped tapping all of a sudden, realising just what she was doing. I am really bored...
She had already fiddled about with her blaster for half an hour, paced the room in every direction imaginable, practiced aerobics and everything else she could think of doing. She gave up trying to entertain herself in her room, leaving into the brightly lit corridor. Wandering over to one of the elevators on her floor, she took the next one to the lower decks. Most of the crew had never met the captain in the flesh, and had only seen an image of who was commanding the ship or heard her voice.
Walking through the lower levels, the hum of the engines were more prominent than ever. Several members of the crew saluted her with a "G'day admiral", but most were too busy, or maybe too distracted to notice. Her outfit was that of an officer, but the lighting was dim and she could probably be mistaken for another crew member. She passed a battery of gun emplacements, interested in seeing the type she would be commanding in space conflicts. It was a strange feeling to actually get to grips with what she had command over.
"You there, you're paid fer workin', not fer standin' 'round." A hoarse voice behind her caused her to turn around. She came face to face with a giant of a man, with tough skin and a scarred, intimidating face. His arms were crossed and she could see the muscles in his arms quivering. "Do you know who I am?" The tone in her voice was calm. The man, who she could tell was a supervisor, looked at her for a moment. The moment was obvious when he realised who he had just told to get working. "Admiral. Ah heck, mah 'poligies. 's my job ta get t' men workin' and such. Lazy blasted rats they are." His posture was relaxed and he seemed almost embarassed. "Think nothing of it. Carry on the good work." She smiled as she walked away, and she could hear his relieved exhale echoing around.

He smiled as he looked at his Padawan, and then that smile seemed to instantly vaporize as he heard Le'leine's voice once more and an audible groan issued forth from the young Jedi. Le'Leine was going to keep them there at the station as long as possible just to be a jerk, that's how he was. He belonged to the group of people who when given authority, feel as if they have surpassed the limitations of normal humanity and become something near god-like.
"Seriously..? We've been over this how many times and now you need me for questioning...? That's fine we'll go answer your 'questions'...but you can bet your superiors are going to hear about you spending your time flirting with the prostitutes in the Red Sector while you're supposed to be on the clock and fighting crime..." He said with a smirk as he watched the color drain from the CorSec's face.
"Lead the way kind sir.." Keton said, the smirk still on his face as he performed an over-exagerrated bow. He was annoyed by this and he wasn't going to hold and reservations on showing it. He then looked over at Elav, "Be prepared to be waiting for a long time...these guys are terribly slow..." He said, casting him a wink to show that he was saying this to further piss off the CorSec. While Keton was a good guy and he fought the good fight, he loved messing with people and irritating them. While in a fight, he believed 'trash talking' was a very effective tool as it forced the recipient to start fighting with emotion and less clarity, and thus they became sloppy.
(Post is terribly short, sorry...kinda had to force it out as my creative juices are not flowing today for some reason..)

Elav tried to keep his features neutral as he heard his master Keton make a shocking retort to the CorSec Officer Le'laine. How did he ever find out about something like that? ...How long has he been here anyway?[/i]
The Twi'lek nodded and couldn't help but grin as he got a wink from Keton - he tried not to let it turn into a smirk though. It reminded Elav of his earlier years. No observation or opinion had gone unuttered, much to his parent's dismay. And he had always been good at making observations; oh yes, he had always been very good at getting to the heart of matters via the simplest, most honest path available to him.
Elav joined his master's side as they followed Le'laine to the CorSec vessel. There was so much he wanted to ask him now. He wanted to know Tekal's history so that he could truly understand him, learn to anticipate his expectations, just as he had once been able to do with his first master. But, he knew such things would take time and that he'd have to be patient.
Elav fell silent as he reflected upon his thoughts. He thought of his own personal history, and decided he didn't regret a single moment of it. In the end, it might even serve to strengthen him on his path as a Jedi. Afterall, history repeated itself, and if that was true, then the galaxy was about to leave the eye of the storm and enter a whole new era. Elav was always left with that feeling after he meditated, and he had experienced it enough times that he now firmly believed in it.
He thought once again of the short saga that was his life, looking down to the spot on his belt where he kept his datapad. He was no longer ashamed of the contents the little device held. Perhaps that was why Keton hadn't wanted to look at, he had given his Padawan a chance to decide for himself what he made of it. That was something Khael would've done. Nothing stays the same for long, everything changes. The only thing you can do is just try to make sure you don't get swept away in the changing tide. [/i]
Elav looked back up, focusing his ocean-blue eyes on the vessel that would take them to CorSec Headquarters. "Well, let's see where this takes us..." he muttered to himself.

Elav waited until the CorSec Officers boarded the police vessel and secured the criminal before he took a seat next to Keton. "Well, this sure is... cozy." he said, making eye contact with the officer across from him who's knees were very nearly colliding with his own.
Elav tried not to stare at the back of Le'laine's head as they neared CorSec Headquarters. He could feel the wounded pride and resentment oozing off the man, and he wondered just what he would try to do to get back at Keton. Elav looked back at his master several times, and each time he saw what he thought was simple amusement on the vigilante's features.
Minutes later, they touched down and were rather briskly escorted inside. Elav's eyes took in as much of the sight as he could regardless, making sure to keep pace with his master Tekal. What a surprise.[/i] Elav thought as they were led to a waiting room.

...so then I turn to him and say 'I don't care if you are a Sith Lord. Someone owes me a new speeder bike.'" There was a chorus of laughter from the several men around the table. She had moved on to the garrison quarters where the substantial force of Republic soldiers awaited deployment into the battlefield. There were all sorts of professions here - soldiers, demolition experts, mechanics, pilots, scouts. There was even some guy who's speciality was figuring out what would be edible if they crash landed on an unknown or vaguely charted planet.
The men were relaxing in a large, well decorated room which led through several corridors to their sleeping areas. There were several rooms like this on each floor. There was a Holonet network, several computing terminals, a food preparation area and plenty of space for other activities. She had requested this kind of area to be added specifically when going over design schematics of the ship. Soldiers need time to enjoy themselves or they're unlikely to fight effectively. There were, of course, training areas for them to go to, for practicing combat training and survival techniques. How many soldiers want to relax by doing that though?
She stayed around for a few minutes, wasting as much time as possible. She remained long enough to see the victor of an arm wrestling tournament - one of the demolitions team with a tattoo on his face - before heading back in the direction of the bridge. Crew relations were always important when you're leading. That didn't mean she had to go around and kiss every member on the ship. Word would get around that she was interested in the well-being of her crew. That alone would be a deterrant to bad behaviour. She entered another elevator shaft - one that seemed to be used for cargo more than anything else - and whizzed off towards the command bridge.
I need a hobby. Maybe I should get a pet.

He knew exactly what Le'leine was going to do for retaliation. He was going to have them sit in this waiting room for hours longer than needed, just to try and unnerve the Jedi. It wasn't going to work but it was a good thought, Keton mused with a smile. He then turned to Elav, "While I wouldn't recommend toying with public authority figures...he makes it far too easy and he takes it so personally that I almost feel obligated to.." He said with another laugh, trying to show Elav that they weren't in trouble and he had nothing to worry about.
He cracked his knuckles and sat on the edge of the table in the middle of the waiting room, letting his legs dangle off the edge. He wondered how hard Le'leine was pushing his mental limits, sitting in the room next to them thinking of questions to throw at Keton just to keep them around longer, it was probably causing him a headache at the moment, that thought caused Keton to break out into another small chuckle.
It was then that Keton's face suddenly went very serious as he felt a massive disturbance in the force, "Brace yourself!" He yelled as a loud explosion ripped through the building, causing the walls around them to shake fiercely. Then the lights cut off. Keton reached outwards with the force, checking to see that his Padawan was alright, and then the emergency lights kicked on along with the alarm klaxons that began to blare.
"I have a feeling this has something to do with our prisoner....come on..!" He said, already heading towards the doorway into hall.
