<In the refresher>
Fixer washed his face off methodically with water from the ships collection tanks. The adrenaline still coarsing through his veins from the situation in the lobby made him almost leap for the bowl and vomit. When the acrid bile had finished roilling he wiped his mouth with a clean towel and stared at his reflection in the mirror.
An old man stared back at him. They needed better protection. Jorek made mention that he'd been into some dirty business. Maybe we could get him to tap some of his old contacts. Fixer tossed the idea around in his head a little bit. White noise in a background of his heartbeat pounding in his ears.
He never liked blasters much. His hand touched a soft spot in his shoulder without him even intending. When he realized what he'd done he forced himself to grab the refreshers purge handle and gave it a tug.
His breakfast and whatever else had been resting in his belly that morning dissapeared with a whoosh.
His composure restored he dropped a couple breath freshening tabs and made his way back into the lobby.

Jorek watched as the Twi'lek went to work, taking a seat at the table in the hangar. "Go ahead and do anything you want to it if it makes it faster. I don't think App will have a problem with it. Just do me a favor and try not to mess with the droid assistance and the hook-up in the cockpit, I had just gotten done installing it before all that other stuff happened." He said while watching her take off the panels of the ship. He slipped away to put his blaster away, and get a cup of caf. He dazed in and out of his cybernetic channels as she worked. "Aurea. I was born there, but I moved around a bit because of the little group that I was in. Taught me all the stuff I know about tech and mechanics. Never had any formal schooling in my field though. I ended up here after its fallout. About 5 years back I got the cybernetics." He said, making droidlike motions as he talked and stared at the nearest parallel surface while occasionally mechanically drinking his caf. "What about you?"

Doneeda was struggling with a particularly hard panel when he asked.
Rlyloth originally. mov'd do korellia wen I was'sabout 12.
She paused for a second, moving to the back of the engine and deciding that the panel probably wasn't supposed to come off, and started working on the mountings for the engine its self.
Parents god ref'u'gee stats, so we mov'd dere. I wen'school, noding real'specal dere, aside fro'dat dey cand deatch basik do save dem live, den god a apprent-thing a' de HNN.
She paused for another second as she extracted the maglock pins holding the first engine retaining ring. She moved up about a quarter of the way up and started to work on the second, and talk again.
An'way, work'n on kamaras all day 'ent all dat interestin', so I decide do kom'ere. Dat an' da pay suck'd...less dan a dam droid shop!
She said with a, grabbing the last of the maglock pins, finding a bucket, and putting them into it. She moved up to half way, and found that whoever had built the ship...or re powered it, had omitted the third retaining ring. So she moved up, and found that it had a second one. She picked up the demagntizing tool, flipped her leku over her left shoulder and reached in.
Anyway...I nod'ere jus'for a pay. Dough, dat is nice. Mo'dat I jus'tired of a borin' life, y'kno?
She said, as the last of the second ring of maglocks fell out. Along with the engine. She jumped back.
Kedala ma'salma tes al!!
She instinctually said in her own language.
Dat wan'supo'do hap'n!
She managed to get out, looking into the engine bay. The first ring of retainers was completely absent. It looked like it'd been cut out to clearence a new engine. Usually old engines slide out the back of the craft when they are removed, and they usually have to be pushed to do that.
Alri...Don'bodar wid de oddar engine. Is'agona be'same prolly.
Engine mounting brackets. Right and Left. 250 maglock pins.
She added to her list.
Where u guys fin'dis heep?
She asked, looking at Jorek.

Fixer had walked up behind Jorek quietly and watched as the Twi'lek had leapt out of the way of the falling engine. He felt a slight twinge at the rough manner in which she'd taken apart the engine.
"In a junkyard, it was the cheapest hunk of scrap that still had a reasonably useable hull and mountings." Fixer said over Joreks shoulder, his arms folded over his chest. "She'll need several reinforcements by the time we're done. We'll give her a finish that'll make her look like she just came off an assembly line." Fixer found that his smile had returned if only slightly.

Jorek turned his head to look back as Fixer spoke, and nodded slightly. "Hopefully with all the interest we'll be able to hire an entire pit crew for it as well. Should be quite fun." He said as he turned back towards the wall. "I've always found it funny how people find their life very boring, and when other people look at it they find it amazing and adventurous. Welcome to Ord Mantell. If you're looking for action, it looks like you've found it." Jorek said, smiling slightly. As he talked he dove around on the networks and he remembered how he tried to explain it to somebody, what he said; "It's not like I see what these people say. I don't see them or the text, it's spontaneously there like I've known it all along. When it happens it's a daydream, but it's happening all the time so I learned to tune it out. You feel it happening more than you see it. What really wierded me out is that if I can act upon and use it to a degree is why the colors and noise don't change when I do. When I tune it out it's like snapping out of the dadream. I have no idea what it all meant specifically but I know it had some kind of meaning and impact. It's almost inexplainable."
((Sorry for the flashback and the length of the post, just thought it'd give him some depth and a bit of explaination on how I think cybernetics would work on the brain and he uses and 'sees' the text and the network))

Doneeda looked at him.
Wel...do be honest, it don't look dat ba'. I mea', da engine's are rodden, bud'a restof it looks pre'good. De cowlings look good, the restof da outar hull looks pretty good. I have yed do ge'inside, bu it jus seems dat somebod' wando swap da engines and didn' kno wad dey was doin. I mean, Ged'a biggar reakter, some reinforcemends, toss in a couple'a new engines and dis wil be one hellova racer.
She said, looking around for some sort of hoist or mobile crane to pick up the fallen engine. It was scrap anyway, what with the hole in the side and the obvious abuse it'd taken in its past life it wasn't really worth it to bother restoring it to sell it. Not to Doneeda anyway.
So wad do you wan me do wit dis engine? Its control modules and injektors look ok, an'da primaree fokusn' rin' looks to be new...ish. Bud mosof des 'ngine is garbage. I have a lok a'da odder one, it may be good'till, bud dis one is 'doast. Look'a'da hole, its biggar den my han'!
She said, pointing at the hole and grabbing here and there on it, some incidental parts actually coming off in her hand, causing her to shake her head slightly. It seemed to her that the hole was blown during flight, probably allowing the engines plasma flow into the compartment between the engine housing and the cowl, disintegrating the parts therein, causing a catastrophic failure and the computer to shut the engine down.
Whoe'er own'dis ding befoar w'dum...Tryin'd'run do waaay do muc'fuel an'nod enough plasma...boom!
She thought, having done the same a couple times when she was first learning about intermix ratios...sometimes it was rather spectacular, blowing holes in the engines.

Fixer listenned to Joreks commentary on life and thought about it a moment. It was extremely deep. Fixer had no idea that Jorek had a philisophical side to him. Quite a mystery man when it came down to it.
When his eyes shifted back, Fixer knew what Doneeda was looking for as he watched her search around for the Hangar. He walked around Jorek as she talked about the ludacris state the engine was in and scooped up the rail lift operator from out of the cockpit. When she reached the part about the fuel Fixer chuckled. Once the joist was over the engine he lowered the hook and straps. "Well we need to be sure that our pilot doesn't do that, any suggestions on how to avoid that?" Fixer said handing the lift operator to Doneeda, a look of curiosity a slight twinkle in his eyes.

Raph'e waited as everyone left the office, then rushed off down the hall.
Ribber only had time to look up in surprise as Raph'e crashed into her office, sparing no time as he came around her desk and scooped her up in his arm. He was almost instantly enveloped in joyful emotions as Ribber realized who he was. He leaned forward, kissing her for the first time in months. It was the best feeling in the world.
They stood there for a moment, covering each other in their various emotions, holding and kissing one another. Then, finally, Raph'e pulled back. "There was just an incident in Fixers office. Two bounty hunter or something pulled guns, it was looking bad. but then they left, and now we're trying out a prospective hire. Come with me to the hangar." He felt a surge of fear and surprise from Ribber, and in response sent comforting feeling her way, reassuring her everything was fine.
A moment later they were in the hangar, gazing at a battered old Star Saber, an grimy engine laying on the floor. Near it were Jorek and Fixer, as well as the Twi'lek. He came to a stop next to Fixer. "How's things going?"

Doneeda thought for a second.
Well...we cou' ge' Jordek do program da droid brains do no'allow id do 'appen. It no' ver difficul'd, an dere are even dird pardy control boxes dat'll do id, jus depends on how much you wan' spen. Da big'est issue i'dat is'nod a standard set of radios fo'ery engine, so you kinda godda figure oud'our engines by trial and er'or. I can'do id, takes like 2 hours tops per engine, den you can'd blow dem up. It'd really on'becomes a problem when you run da engines as har'as you gonna. Stock you don'godda worry, bud when you star' modden'em is whe'things get inderesdin.
She said as she attached the straps to the engine, then the straps to the hook, and took the controller. She nodded thanks. She was just about to nudge the stick up when the guy from the lobby and somebody else, Human Doneeda guessed walked in. They seemed to want to talk to Fixer, so she went back to the panel and nuded the stick up, being rewarded with a whine as the crane lifted the engine up effortlessly. Doneeda figured out the controls fairly easily, and moved the engine to the side of the area they were working in.
She got back and started working on the left engine, it came apart much more smoothly than the right, and looked to be in half decent condition. Doneeda brought the lift back and the engine came out in a third the time of the other one, and was sitting beside its char-broiled cousin after only a couple minutes worth of work.

As the Huttese escape pod careened into the atmosphere, a series of new developments were arising for its occupant, whose original programming was beginning to take hold. Unfortunatley for him, his programming had been more than a little corrupted in these past sixty years, so only a few bits remained.
........ Model MX.....................Class IX........
................... ....... .. Report to stationing on Ord Mantell for orders.
........ Model MX.....................Class IX........

........ Model MX.....................Class IX........

........ Model MX.....................Class IX........
................... ....... .. Report to stationing on Ord Mantell for orders.
That was all that was left. That was all that there was. Somehow, the droid was piloting the escape pod without any legs and only one arm, though he himself had no idea how he was, or even why he was. He didn't even know whether or not he should wonder why.
His sensors, for strange reasons, picked up on the insignia of a nearby Republic Navcomputer.
Stationing
It made enough sense to the droid. And so he set a course for the Navcomputer and whatever orders he might recieve.
Upon arriving in the vicinity of the very old ship, the Lost Odyssey, Mx, as he began to understand his identity as, prepared to land, only to come to the conclusion that he could not remember how to land.
Suddenly, a small section of his programming repaired itself.
Double Durasteel Cortosis-plated chassis. Percent chance of surviving crash.... 99.9%.
And, with that, the escape pod, finally losing control, plummented into the ground outside the front entrance to the shop, its occupant surviving intact.
(WHAT NOW?!?!?!)

(lol and the plot thickens...)
Raph'e looked up suddenly as a whine began to sound outside the hangar, steadily growing louder. He recognized the sound instantly. He had heard it in nearly every flight simulator he had flown in the past few months. "Incoming! Hit the deck!" He tackled Ribber to the ground, protecting he neck and head as a huge impact sounded just outside. Smoke and debris flooded the hangar, and for a moment it seemed that the ground would never stop shaking.
Suddenly, it was quiet once more. Ears ringing, Raph'e stood up, helping Ribber to her feet. Once he was sure that everyone was all right, he rushed outside.
He came to an abrupt stop, staring below him into a deep crater, a small escape pod at its center. "What the hell?" Raph'e muttered, wondering why in the blazes an escape pod would need to be launched over a planet with as tightly regulated space lanes as Ord Mantell, and why the system security forces hadn't picked it up when it was still over the planet.
Raph'e stepped over the lip of the crater, half-sliding down to the escape pod, its front end still slightly glowing with the heat of atmospheric entry. Coming to a stop at the bottom, he began banging on the pod's hatch. "Hello?! Are you ok?! Can you open the door?!"

As fixer struggled to reach his feet he looked at what was left of the escape pod outside and yelled at the top of his lungs. "What the Sith spit is wrong with the rest of Ord Mantel... Do all the weird things need to happen here at my shop!?"
Fixer struggled to his feet and followed Raph'e outside to look at the escape pod.
"Looks like a Hutt escape pod. The only thing that'd made this day any weirder would be if a Jedi showed up." Fixer said softly. "Survivors you think?"

Doneeda got lucky, she was on the opposite side of the shop when the craft impacted, sending debris flying in all directions. She got knocked over, but when she stood up and took stock there wasn't anything worse than a small cut on her right arm, from falling back into one of the engines. And various sore spots on her body .
Dose're gon' hur'inda'morro...[/color]
She thought as she walked over to the impact crater with her right arm around her middle and her left behind her head...she'd pulled something for sure When she go there she put her hands in her pockets and looked down, Raphe had already hopped down into the crater. She just looked from Fixer to Jorek, then to the rather good looking human, then back to the crater, and shook her head.
"Dam'..."
Doneeda caught herself staring at the woman, and snapped her gaze back to the crater.
Uhh...Lemmie' gi'you 'a han'
She said quickly as she half walked half fell into the crater to help. Doneeda had just made an ass of herself and realized it. But she couldn't help thinking that there was something different about that one...something seemed off to her. She certainly never thought of other women in that way.
She felt even stupider when she got to the pod and noticed a distinct lack of TOOLS. She turned around and scrambled up the side of the crater and grabbed the first plasma cutter she could find, walking back she made a point to look straight into the crater and not make eye contact with the girl...it was just, weird. But, in her concentration to not look at her, she managed to fall down the crater, and come sliding to a stop at the bottom. She held out the Cutter to Raphe.
'ere, ou' mi nee'dis.
She said as she got up.
OOC:
Italics is Doneeda thinking...just so we're all clear.

Following the impact, Mx paused for a moment and looked outwards at the crash site. A click sounded from his chest cavity and began to whir...
Emergency Protocol #GF567 initiated.......... ....activating available plasma torch... ...... ...............scan for Neo-Crusader Armor....
And, so, not knowing what a plasma torch or a neo-crusador was, Mx-104 scanned the area outside the escape pod and activated a small cutting tool on his remaining arm, which he began to cut open the crashed pod with.

Fixer couldn't help but think that Doneeda was cute, in a daughter sort of way as she clumsily fell down into the crater. Not once but twice. He stifled a laugh and covered a smile with a dirty hand. When the sparks began to fly from the inside out Fixer almost shouted at the pair in the crater, but managed to keep his volume to a low suggestive tone.
"Back up you two, the occupant seems to be cutting itself loose. Try not to give it an unfriendly welcome, but be careful."

In a matter of moments, a perfectly rectangular section of the pod was removed and was slid aside by the occupant. As the section fell away, it was revealed to be a very old, and extremely damaged droid, the make of which was uncertain. It was missing an entire lower section and an arm.
Once his sensors adjusted, Mx-104 counted over the number of heat signatures, identifying each living creature within a 100-meter radius and immediatley logging on by cardiac patterns.
Looking out, a self-diagnostic ran, and the results came back quite dire indeed. Utilizing his vocuabilizer, which he just now remembered how to do, Mx-104 spoke out.
"I am damaged... my internal power cell has been ruptured, and I must deactivate. I require maintenance, sir."
And, with that, Mx-104 deactivated, again.

Raph'e was just about to accept the tool when sparks began flying from the inside of the pod. The mechanic started back in surprise. "That works..."
He stepped aside as the section of pod fell away, revealing the droid inside. Raph'e stood frozen for a moment, startled. He wasn't quite expecting a droid, let alone one as badly damaged as this. From what there still was of him, he could clearly see that is wasn't a maintenance or cleaning droid. It must have served another purpose. He stepped forward as it spoke and shut down, motioning Jorek down. "Jorek! Get down here! It's a screwed up droid. We need to get him repaired. You're the droid expert here. What do you think?"

Doneeda jumped back as the hatch popped open and the droid said its piece. It wasn't like anything she'd seen before, and she'd worked on a lot of droids. It was also a complete mess, missing its entire lower half and an arm....But that wasn't what Doneeda found the most curious. On its remaining arm, it obviously had a plasma cutter. On an R series droid that would make sense...but on something like that?
She looked over at Raphe.
ne' idea whad i' is?
She said in a semi dream like tone , at a complete loss for anything else to say as she walked over. Upon her looking at it something became rather apparent. It was armored, and had blaster marks peppering its outer shell. Some of them looked like they'd penetrated. She knelt down and started looking more closely, for any sort of identifying markings on it.

Fixer gave the Droid a looking over. It was old. But the customized parts of its body spoke of refitted use.
"Its definately not new, that's for certain." Fixer looked on from the rim of the crater and scratched his chin. "Well I guess I'll go get the repulsor lift and we can drag it into the Hangar. Not like it'll explode or something..." Fixer thought about the days events and reconsidered his statement.
He looked from Jorek to Doneeda.
"Will it?"

Jorek was only half there through the entire dramatic entrance of the droid. He silently watched as Doneeda fumbled around in the crater, and as Fixer gave orders for everyone to stand back. The other half of him was in the networks searching out things and attending to some matter he thought might be important.
"No, it should be fine. It looks like an old droid, but of what type I'm not exactly sure. I'll run some diagnostics and copy the memory to my datapad and review it to try and see it's last command and purpose." He said in response to everyone questions, breaking his attention on the networks. "I'll let you guys know if I find anything strange." He said after which he promptly turned around and headed towards the hangar to get his box of tools specialized for droid work and his datapad.
