Varanduu's expression was usually hard to read, but it was certain that he know wore an expression of concern. He looked to the other Council Members, seeking their wisdom. Another Master, a long-term member, an Aleena by the name of Yttyr responded.
"So quickly? This does not bode well. For any of us. We thank The Force that you have returned, and we wonder... exactly how far did these troopers descend? The planet is unstable, and an explosion too far down could severely damage it."
He said, the council once more growing grim.

Alex shifted his weight as he was at war with himself. He was pondering whether to tell the council about Adrian's lapse in judgement, but knew better to not bring that up. Especially, when Vex himself wasn't as stable a person. On the other hand he wondered if the Council would allow them to team up and continue working together so he could keep an eye on the man to make sure he was okay still.
From the information that I was given by Jedi Yoley and his padawan, they made it to the outer core and was placing explosives on key systems that kept the world inhabitable. After that as I previously stated, they started landing in the main hangar.
Vex gripped his hands together until his knuckles turned white. He did this to stop them from shaking. Once again his memories came back to haunt him as he struggled to battle the doubts inside of him.
If you do not have any more questions Masters, I have one for you. I would like to bring to your attention that I have been a Knight for some time and although I still mourn my own Master's death. I believe I am ready to take on my own Padawan. I would like to petition you for this chance.

The Master's minds were not at the here and now. Something else entirely concerned them. Yttyr faced the Knight and nodded.
"You speak as if you already have a decision made. Which of our students have you chosen?"

(Well I'd take Tal on, but she hasn't been around in awhile and missed the whole Subterrell battle. So I really don't know when she'll be back. I'm gonna talk to her and probably take on someone else.)
Alex shook his head no and stood grimly his hands still clasped in front of him. He shifted restlessly wanting to leave this meeting and get on with his next meeting.
No Masters I do not have someone in mind. I do know that there are many younglings around here though that are coming of age to be sent to the different service Corps. I may spend some time here looking around and conversing with a few. I simply ask for your permission to train someone. If you have no further use of me I shall retire to meditate and train. Good evening Masters.
The Knight bowed graciously and turned to leave the Council Chambers. He wanted to unwind from the encounter and headed for the training rooms. He knew he would calm down and unwind by putting himself through the rigors of simulated combat and sparring.

The Council had rejoined once again in thier chambers at the request of Jedi Knight Paine about the taking on of an apprentice. It had only been several days since Paine had gotten back from a rather long mission, and quite a few people had already taken note of his presence back at the Temple.
Particularly Felheart, a rather upbeat Padawan who had been having trouble finding a Master. It was not but a day earlier Paine had suggested it to him, and gleefully Felheart delighted in the fact that someone was finally willing to further his training in the ways of The Force.
And so they sat, Paine in the middle of the Tribunal. They all waited for him to speak. Some in physically there, others being holoprojected from across the galaxy. They all knew what was about to happen, but as sticking to the tradition, they had to let Paine speak first.

"If it alright with you I would like to take him with me to my next mission whenever that may be"

After a moment of discussion, and a few looks and whispers from the council, one of the masters, Master Tente Antsiri said, "Jedi Knight Paine, your years of wisdom and bold, memorable service has led all of us to believe you will make a dedicated and competent Master. We grant you the privilege of training Fellheart as your Padawan, may you guide him to become one of the greatest advocates of peace and the way of The Force. If you've got nothing more to say, this Council is adjourned."

"Well, it is important that a Youngling does not spend all his time within the walls of the Jedi Temple, you are right. Take him to one of the residential slums or commercial districts here on Coruscant and see what kind of help you can give to whoever or whatever you can find. If you cannot find anything, just have him levitate scrap metal and rocks, maybe bring along a training remote to practice blaster deflection. The best thing to do really would to get to know your Padawan a little more than you already do." Master Tente nodded at Paine's request. And with that The Councilors got up and dismissed themselves to a lounge area before thier next council meeting. The holoprojected ones had already dismissed themselves to more important business on the world they were on.

<<Later>>
Araon drifted into the council chambers silently, his hood drawn over his head, where it concealled his sleep deprived eyes. His boots barely made any sound as he seemed to rest at the center of the circle. Around him some of the Council watched while other seats stood empty.
"I have completed my task." He said confidently. As the silence seemed to fill the room, his breifly echoing voice died. "I am unsure if the Jedi is lost to us. Yet she lives, and her contacts know of her exhistance. For now I will be carrying on with my duties." With his report filed and his meeting attended he bowwed slightly and turned. His silent boots carrying him out of the council chambers, into the lift, and away.

Post by Adamus Cronus on Jan 26, 2008 16:56:36 GMT -5
(For the Council Members please.)
Adamus stood, unnerved at the doors leading into the Council's chamber. What he had to tell them was not good. He had been called away from his duties earlier on that week to go on an unannounced mission with his master. He hadn't heard that the Council wanted him to go there but still he trusted his Master whole heartedly. When they arrived there his master had betrayed him and the Order to the Dark Side. Adamus was given the option to join his Master in the Dark Side, or be killed. After a short while Adamus chose the latter.
He had only just managed to get out alive, his body thankfully, intact, his former-Master's however was not, as he had lost his right arm. In a tight battle Adamus only just managed to disarm his former-Master and succeed in combat.
Now he came to the Council to relay the news to them, and ask in curiosity about his future in the Jedi Order. Now masterless for the second time, Adamus wasn't sure what fate had in store for him. Taking a deep breath he walked through the doors leading to the Council Chambers. His head was held high and his arms held behind his back. He walked into the centre of the pose and adopted a formal pose. Adamus was always as respectful as he could be towards the Council, he had a great deal of respect for them. He waited a moment before he began to speak.
"Honoured Council Members, I come to you now with tragic news. Master Nohbaar has betrayed us, and fallen to the Dark Side of the Force. I managed to pull myself through his blanket of lies, as he tried to tempt me towards the Dark Side, and I bring him before you now so that he may be judged."

Eris's limpid milky eyes appeared unmoving and disinterested as she regarded the two, curious as to the events which preceded their arrival.
“He didn’t kill him,” she mused quietly to herself, placing a delicate finger to her lips in thought. “Instead he chose to bring him back alive, even under the powerful influence of such a planet as Korriban… the boy has incredible potential,” she noted in silent contemplation, her eyes almost lighting up as the temptation to snatch him up right there and then gripped her. In a way, she even felt the force almost nudging her, asking her to take up this budding Jedi and yet, her condition denied her the opportunity – a surge of pain shooting through her even then as if to confirm this, causing her to wince slightly.
Either way, the boy needed a capable master and Eris wasn’t even sure if any were free at the moment. She certainly did not want to leave another young padawan to wither. Considering this, a sigh escaped her lips as she took him in once again; admiring the intensity he gave off. He appeared set in his ways and she could see balance in this, something which would serve him well, she surmised, if it hadn’t already.
It wasn’t only Adamus in the spotlight now however but his former master. And it wasn’t long before her gaze slowly shifted to the fallen Jedi, giving a short pause before addressing him - her tone tranquil despite the circumstances. “Master Nohbaar, I pray that you have at least found some measure of peace… perhaps even in the fact that you helped train and shape such a fine young man.” And with that, she gave the former Master a short nod of respect, feeling little need to press the issue; leaving this to her fellow council members. She, on the other hand turned her attention back to Adamus.
“I suppose this means you’ve passed the trials of skill and spirit, young Adamus… congratulations are in order,” she concluded dispassionately, knowing that there was little to celebrate with the fall of their own clouding such an accomplishment.

Post by Ashla Aneem on Jan 29, 2008 22:35:39 GMT -5
(This post for me will be during the time period that Ashla has been on the shuttle to Subterrel before my post on that board.)
Ashla sat in quiet meditation in the cargobay of her transport. En-route to Subterrel, the taskforce was only parsects away from Coruscant but Ashla had been away from the Temple now for nearly twenty-four hours. She left in the early morning the previous morning and attended an early meeting at the Jedi sanctuary on the other side of the planet, from which she met up with a few other Jedi Masters who were to accompany her on the mission to Subterrel. The team was picked up by Kieran and Aaron shortly after.
The Jedi, dwelling on the time, slowly awoke from her ruminations and withdrew a small holoprojector from the side clasp of her utility belt. Ashla placed the bronze circle on the floor of the cargobay and sat before it, her legs crossed. Nimble fingers quickly worked over the dials and buttons on the circle until a bright blue light erupted from its center. At her eye level, the light broke up into a sphere. The scene projected that of a circular room, with eleven seats; all occupied. She took her place at the twelfth and centermost chair.
_____________________
Ashla's form flickered into exsistance and the Council came into session. She knew that the two figures before her stood there with two very different auras around them. For the elder, it was an unfamiliar feeling that radiated from him. The last she saw of Nohbaar... well, it was very much a different circumstance. Eris, a trusted Council member to Ashla's left, spoke serenely, though her words were cloaked in disappointment; a feeling that the Council dealt with all too well on personal levels each during matters similar to this. Not even the strictest of Code followers could mask it. And it was perfectly acceptable.
The Togruta listened to Eris' statement and nodded slightly in agreement. Her projected voice crackled with outside disturbance as she spoke: "I concur. However, two very different situations stand before us. We should not address them together. More pressingly, Adamus, please return back to your quarters for the time being. You will be summoned when we are ready for you." Ashla gave a nod towards the durasteel door behind the Padawan and returned her unphasing gaze towards the now lesser of the two.

Adamus stood formally as he smiled almost proud of his achievements. He knew not to feel pride in his actions, but he couldn't help but be slightly impressed with his own achievement. He'd never brag about it to anyone, or compare himself with others, but he felt like, at this moment, he'd made the Jedi Order better in a way.
The young Jedi Padawan nodded respectfully, at the Grand Master's request. He knew that it was for the best that he was not there for his Master's "questioning." He silently backed himself out of the chamber, and began decending towards the bottom of the tower, where he would make his way to his chambers.
-------------------------------------------------------
Adamus leaving left Nohbaar alone, flanked at all sides by Jedi Masters. Though intimidating for some Nohbaar felt nothing, he had stripped himself of any displays of emotion. They were still inside him, encircling the Dark Side within, but physically he wouldn't show it. The elder Twi'lek Master, shook his head, laughing a little as he did so.
"Why, oh, why did I ever trust you fools? Now I return enlightened, I can see through the pitiful sheet of lies your try to pull over the Jedi's eyes. You hide them from the darkness. Their true potential. And what the Force should be: The greatest weapon of all. I was blind. I was shackled. Now I am free."
Tilting his head upwards he looked the Grand Master's hologram straight in the eye.
"Kill me now, or let me go. For I will never return to your ways."

A light smile tugged at the corners of Eris’s lip upon Aneems arrival. As she not only held the Grand Mistress in high regard but found her fellow council members were behaving oddly quiet and she herself, while capable, preferred not to be the one deciding the punishments or rewards for the various situations. And currently, it was the former which had to be chosen; one of the harder tasks.
As Nohbar droned on, Eris raised her hand to stifle a yawn, her lids beginning to feel heavy right from the start of his tired speech. As a council member, she’d heard the same accusations and claims repeatedly and indeed, it had become a bit of a chore to listen to the fallen. She listened nonetheless however, curious if this one had any deeper meaning to it but as it turned out, he didn’t…
And so she began as soon as he stopped, still believing that there was some hope for Nohbar despite his rash vow - retaining her even tone as she started. “So you see the force as a weapon, to destroy rather than create and strengthen? Tell me then, once everything is left in ruins due to your mad frenzy what shall your next move be; to hack at the very ground of the planets in your mad quest to ‘destroy’?” She was over exaggerating of course but the man had given little other reason for his shift to the dark side and she couldn’t believe that it was such a simple pursuit as to destroy.
In spite of a brief pause however, she left little time to respond as she continued, “As for blinding and shackling you… Well, we all have our teaching methods Master Nohbar and we certainly can’t teach everyone everything. So we pick what we believe is best for the students. And for the Jedi in general, those teachings focus around restraint, knowledge, defense and hopefully… inner peace.”
“Saying that we're blinding you because we failed to teach you dark side techniques, is comparable to a student crafter berating his or her mentor for not teaching them how to drive a hovertank,” she added dryly, frowning slightly at Nohbar now before concluding, “And you were always free Nohbar or you wouldn’t have been able to make the choice of picking the dark-side. Tell me, did a squad of Jedi jump out of the very rocks themselves to stop you or was it a quiet fall?” she asked solemnly, emphasizing her point.
“As for your enlightenment, well, I find the thought of achieving illumination via the dark to be contradictory in itself…” she gave a small wave of her hand as if to brush off the very thought of learning much from the dark side. Although, even she knew there was some knowledge to be had by venturing at least a little into such things. However, she also knew that most of that knowledge was destructive and hence… useless.

"The Jedi Order, Nohbaar, is not some mundane organization that you may switch in and out of on a whim. And I would find it curious should you consider to rejoin our ranks once again so soon after your... -'enlightenment', as you say. You have been infected with the dark side and I speculate that it is too late to save you. Your entire life you have come before us. We have seen you grow and prosper as a Jedi. But all I see now is a fallen, grey Knight. How addicting it must of been- your first taste of malice. I often say, we grant ranks far too early. In my experience, most Jedi do not face the Force ultimatum until many years after they become Knights."
Ashla leaned back in her chair. Her hands were clasped over the steel edges of the arms of the seat. The blue hologram flickered as her shuttle passed a small asteroid field, but remained prominent in the room that was filled with the brilliant array of a dying sun off in the distance. And the Grand Master shook her head with disappointment and looked at Eris. Once again, her female counterpart spoke the truth.
"As is tradition in this case I support the choice of forced exile. I have no other option to offer," she said simply, "he is far too dangerous to simply be let loose. He must be stripped of the Force and his memory to date."
