A mocking cackle echoed through the Jedi Council Chamber. The former Jedi Master was getting incredibly bored with the attempts to turn him to see the light. They had no idea who they were dealing with he felt he had power beyond any of them. The ability to strike them all down.
"So you would cowardly do what you did to Revan, during the Jedi Civil War? You're worthless.... Worthless to think that will stop me.
Nohbarr had changed. He was once a nice fellow, now he seemed filled with arrogance and hatred. Adamus had no idea what made him this way but somehow he felt like he had to find it out. He felt like he owned it to the Nohbarr he once knew. And he owed it to his other master.
But that was all in the future. Adamus hadn't the time for something like that now. He stood outside patiently, listening to the "trial". He wasn't in the mood to retire yet. And he had an odd feeling that he'd be called back in after Nohbaar had been dealt with.

Meira had landed the shuttle quickly and silently. Once the landing gear had touched the platform and the ship was settled, Meira was out of the cockpit. She spent little time recovering her few belongings and her uncle's lightsaber before briskly walking down the loading ramp and toward the hangar door, allowing the hangar crew to do their work, getting the transport shuttle to it's space in the hangar.
Her boots made a dull thud with every step she took. Her robe, which she hardly ever wore mimicked the sound of water washing over the ground. The sounds were amplified by the large, vaulted corridors of the Jedi temple. She reached the corner of the temple where one spire rose high into the clouds of Coruscant. This tower, at it's top, held the Council Chamber. Meira stepped into the lift, the doors closed, and soundlessly she began to ascend.
At the top, the doors opened, a faint movement of air brushed her face. Ahead of her, a short corridor and a pair of large doors. Beyond those doors, the masters sat, discussing all manner of galactic issues. They were wise in the force, and in the ways of the galaxy. And as much as Meira didn't want to admit it, part of her hoped that they could provide some comfort. Taking a deep breath to calm her thoughts, Meira stepped from the lift and walked with slow, steady steps toward the doors.
Like the lift doors, those leading to the Council Chamber opened soundlessly. Meira paused for only a moment before stepping forward. The room was round, with most of its walls in glass, allowing for a spectacular view of the city-planet. Around the room, the chairs of the Council Members were arranged so that all faced each other, and the center was left open. Meira stopped at the center and bowed from the waist to all the masters who sat on the council. After a moment, she straightened back up and spoke.
I apologize if I have interrupted, masters. I sent a message before leaving Kiffu, requesting an audience. I came to inform the council that my unc.... my master, Evos, has died. He was wounded in the revolt on Durkteel. He asked that I take him to Kiffu. He fought hard against his wounds, and we did all that we could, but it was not enough.
Meira paused, clearing her throat. She then produced her uncle's lightsaber from inside her robe, holding it out before the council.
I constructed his funeral pyre, and his remains are being kept with our clan, but I have brought back his lightsaber.
Meira then bowed again before the council, still holding up the lightsaber.
I now humbly ask the council for guidance. Master Evos said before we were sent to Durkteel that I would soon be ready for the trials. I believe that I can pass them. But if the council believes it to be not so, then I will seek a new master here at the temple. I await your judgment.

((OOC: Apologies for the delay. I’ve been reading up on the trials and your profile. Also, it wasn’t easy deciding on a course of action with the Grand Mistress currently missing. I’ll try catch a mod and get back to you asap.))
Eris regarded the padawan coolly, gauging her reactions as she spoke of the death of her unc… master; yes, that didn’t escape her notice. And while her void milky eyes narrowed skeptically at this, she knew it wasn’t the issue here. What they had now was a padawan, seemingly directionless, and few masters to spare. So, with the rest of the council remaining eerily silent, Eris decided to speak up on their behalf, giving a small cough almost as if to signify as much and draw attention to herself.
With a curious look, her gaze worked its way over the padawan, considering what to make of her. She had potential, that much was clear, but the same could be said for most padawans. The council had also gone over her profile after she’d contacted them and while most were impressed, including Eris, her mission record was a little bland, which would explain the lack of any completed trials. Besides the revolt, Eris didn’t believe she was being tested as she should be.
Starting, Eris spoke slowly, deliberately, as if she were contemplating each word…
“Padawan Valli, I know you’ve travelled far for your answer but nonetheless, I’d ask that you leave us for the moment to discuss these events as well as your future within the order…” and, with a hopefully encouraging smile, she finished, “We’ll contact you the moment we reach a decision… Take the time to gather your thoughts and rest in the mean time.”

((OOC: No problem! I've been kinda busy these past few days anyway )) Meira straightened back up as one of the council members began to speak. Meira did not know her by name, but recognized her face, as she recognized all of the council members. The mistress spoke coolly and calm, and though Meira had not expected it, her manner of speaking had a soothing affect on her. She could feel her muscles relax, though she had not been aware of how tense they were. The council member indicated that they would deliberate on her future, and though these words could have potentially been unnerving, they were followed by a reassuring smile. Meira instinctively smiled as well. She knew that these Jedi held her future in their hands, but Meira was no longer anxious. She trusted in the council deeply, and knew that through their wisdom, she would be guided along the right path. She bowed again and returned her uncle's lightsaber to it's place in her robes. When she straightened back up, she made sure that her eyes met with each council member's as she spoke. I thank you masters, for your time. She looked to the mistress that spoke last. I will follow your advice and rest and meditate as I await your decision. May the Force be with you.And with that, Meira turned and exited the council chamber. As she descended in the lift, her anxiety of the future slowly returned. She would most definitely need to meditate as she waited, but she was reassured in her faith with the council. This would be her meditation; patience and trust.

Ooc:(I'm going to post as an NPC Jedi Seer for the sake of Plot. XD) A jedi, a seer, suddenly burst through the doors to the jedi council room right after Meira left."Pardon the interuption, council masters." The jedi bowed deeply, then stood straight up."But during one of my daily meditations I sensed a presence on Coruscant. The presence seemed to be highly sensitive to the force, but young and untamed. I propose another jedi go and search for the source. We need as many jedi as we can get, and this one may be important.
(short, if you have complaints, post them and don't be an ass about it please >>. Also if you want to be the one doing the searching just pm me and i'll tell you where to go kay? XD)

I can't leave the council occupied for too long. In the mean time, I hope you don’t mind but I’m sending your NPC off to clear the floor for any others who wish to address the council.))
Eris gave the Seer a brief nod, simultaneously acknowledging the information as well as dismissing the Jedi. Finding a volunteer for such a search wouldn’t be easy as the Jedi were stretched thin as it is. For now however, they had other matters to attend to; hopefully the source of this force signature, whoever it is, would hold out for the mean time. With a tired sigh, Eris leaned back in her seat, watching as the Jedi Seer left the room. These were trying times for the Jedi…

Straightening the front of her robes, Elona waited for the doors to the Council Chamber to part and then she strode into the room with Varen behind her. She stopped in the middle of the chamber, bowing to the Masters by way of greeting and out of respect.
She didn't wait for them to ask her what her business was and got right to the point. "Masters, young Varen and I have come to an agreement. I will be his Master and he will be my Padawan, with your permission."

((OOC: I hope it’s fine that I gave Eris a little knowledge of your characters; if not, let me know and I’ll edit.))
Eris closed her eyes in thought at the request, calling whatever little information she could of the two Jedi in question. Of Varen she knew a little, mostly because of the incredible force-potential he displayed in his younger years and Elona she recalled was not only adept with a lightsaber but she sensed a strong ability to lead. What Eris truly considered however was that both had experienced loss and so perhaps, there could be some sort of understanding between them… although, neither had displayed any vengeful tendencies so it probably mattered little.
By now, most of the council members were already nodding their approval and Eris simply had to give her own brief nod and smile, which she did gladly. It was nice to see that the council chamber hadn’t been relegated to simply a place for bad news, which had been wearing on Eris lately, and most likely some of the other council members as well.
"I'm sure you'll make a fine mentor," Eris added sincerely, mostly to just break the silence.

Standing in the center of the circular room, under the scrutinizing eyes of some of the Order's strongest and wisest, Varen suddenly remembered why he hated the Council Chambers so much. Even the simplest of things such as the positioning of the Council Members made him nervous. All around him they sat, their cold eyes relentlessly watching him from every angle, leaving him no where to turn to escape, merely to be judged and every action read before being commented on. Also were the memories he'd acquired from the room, the meetings in which he thought he would be released from the order, only to be sent off with a new face.
Yet even his usual dislike for the Council chamber and its usually disheartening air, Varen couldn't bring himself to feel anything but joy as the council faintly expressed their opinion. With the smallest movement of their heads, the young Jedi had finally been taken on by a Master. One, whom he go the impression off, would be a great teacher for him.
Throughout the meeting, Varen stood silently and as obediently as possible. His pulse was racing with excitement. Yet he was a Jedi, he had to take control of his emotions like a tamer would a wild beast. Taking in a few deep breaths he slowly managed to calm himself down. Looking onto his officially assigned Master with a smile as she received a compliment from one of the Council members.

"Thank you Masters." Elona was pleased, both with her decision and the acceptance given by the Council. Having their blessing was the first obstacle the two of them would face together and had succeeded in. She allowed a small smile to slip through her calm mask as she bowed once again to the wise beings before them. "With your permission we will leave you to other business, as there is much for us to do in preparation for the mission to come."
"May the Force be with you." The words echoed through the circular chamber as the Council Members dismissed them.
Elona did not need to motion to Varen, he followed behind her as they exited the chambers.

Araon An'mar felt numb to everything as he walked to the Council Chambers. His hair was unkept, and his cloak filthy. His eyes seemed to ignore everyone he past. A member of the Senate, A Jedi Knight and her Padawan. His movement seemed almost a mockery of grace, though he pushed himself forward and up to the sliding doors.
When the doors parted, Araon's condition seemed to alarm the council members, though it was certain they had felt the Grand Masters passing.
"I have come..." Araon seemed to force out of his mouth. He had not realized how parched he had been. Though he knew his news superceded his condition. "I bear ill news. I am sure you felt the passing of Grand Master Aneem. And I have brought information about the incident on Subterrel. The Sith Hounds there do center around an ancient Sith Lord, a Darth Everos. I am uncertain of his age, though if his ramblings were not madness, and my history lessons were not wasted upon me, he could pre-date Darth Revan."
"Surely you destroyed this threat to the Galaxy and the Jedi." Came the concerned voice of one of the Council members.
"Yes, I-" Araon's eyes glanced to the floor, then up. "I am uncertain Counciler." A flash shot across his minds eye and he found a very eerie blank spot where the memory of what he had done had been. "I believe he is destroyed, though he had surivived on Subterrel for Centuries, perhaps even Millenia. He could have evaded our efforts. There were still many Sith Hounds left when I made my escape with the Grand Master, though I could not hold her life force within her." Araon bowed his head and a single tear slowly tracked its way across the filth that covered it, making a small clean line.
"I have failed you." Araon was not sure who he meant, the Council, or his beloved Grand Master. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to blot out the greif he felt.

((OOC: This post is just opening the way for the next GM, right? If not, then let me know and I’ll edit my post. I just felt we should open the Council Chambers again since it is a pretty important part of the RP.))
While Eris’s outward appearance remained calm, her gut filled with dread at Aaron’s entrance; for even without the sense of loss she’d felt before, along with the rest of the council, she knew that this Jedi brought ill tidings concerning the Grand Mistress… And to actually have their fears confirmed was unsettling to say the least.
Upon hearing the question many of the councilors had on their mind, voiced by one of their number, Eris listened keenly -- noting something odd about the time before the response but dismissing it as paranoia. After he was done however, Eris could not keep quiet as he attempted to take the blame. Her tone deliberate and unnervingly calm as per usual, despite how upset she truly was over such a loss.
“Knight Aaron, without your bravery and dedication it is likely we’d never have discovered this hidden threat and while I understand you feel pained over the loss of the Grand Mistress, I ask that you do not dwell on it… I doubt she’d wish your mind clouded with grief over her loss. And while I’m unsure this may help, know that the council does not blame you for Aneem’s loss, nor do we consider your mission a failure.” With this said, she leaned back slowly in her seat, arms folded and head lowered, in a thoughtful manner before continuing, “Now, please, go get some rest. With the current animosity between the Republic and Sith it’s unlikely we’ll be able to return to Subterrel so soon but with your help we may be able to prepare ourselves for this possible new threat.”
She really wished she could have been more helpful at easing his burden of guilt but even for a councilor it was difficult to find the words to help someone through the pain of loss. In the end, all Eris could do was hope he found peace.

Iota, a tall zabrak wearing a black and grey tunic with a black robe wanders into the jedi council. He walks to the middle of the room and kowtows before the masters of the order.
"I apologise for disturbing you masters... I have come here seeking your guidance.. outside there is a youngling by the name of makiro, you may know him..you may not.. i was hoping, with your permission of course, that i take young makiro on as my padawan." Iota looks to each council member in turn, he keeps his emotionless facial figure intact.
"I trust in your greater wisdom masters." Iota waits patiently as the council members talk amongst each other.

(OOC: Since Kay’s busy, I’ll be your mediator on the Council. I'll keep the meeting brief so you guys don't have to wait around.)
Vreem sat amongst the other members of the council, not all of the twelve members were currently present as there were some in the middle of missions or they were taking some of the lessons in the temple. Around half were present for the tasks which the day would bring them. When there was not anything important to be discussed the council chambers would often look this empty.
His backside was becoming increasingly numb due to the hours which required him to remain in that seat. It was not due to the fact the oddly shaped seat was not comfortable, quite the opposite, they were well cushioned and soft. However these extra comforts merely prolonged the inevitable discomfort which he was now experiencing. Being a member on the Council was not an easy job, it was an honour to be chosen out of skilled and wise Jedi Masters within the Order, but the job was time consuming and often proved rather difficult. They constantly had to keep up to date on the situation of every planet, faction and organisation throughout the galaxy. These reports had been getting increasingly bleak since the appearance of the Sith Empire.
So when Jedi Knight Iota Dhegon entered the chamber to request taking on an apprentice, the atmosphere became much lighter than it previously had. Vreem had heard of this Jedi Knight, he had been promoted at what many would consider a very old age for a Padawan, but this didn’t impose upon the Council’s discussion. The Jedi Master had, however, taught the Youngling in question. Makiro Variyas was in what would be his last year as a Youngling, he didn’t have long to find a master before he would be shipped off to the Agro-corps or some other backwater location where his talents could be utilized but where he would most likely be forgotten. It had entered his mind a few times, as it had with a number of other students, that perhaps he should take the Youngling as his own Apprentice. However, due to the events which occurred around his last Padawan, Vreem has been indecisive when it came to taking another.
Also, Makiro didn’t seem to be naturally suited to Vreem’s ways. His skills were more abundant when it came to using a lightsaber, opposed to Vreem, Iota was the same and so the Council Members had little reason not to let these two become Master and Apprentice. After a few brief mumblings between the assembled members of the council, Vreem was the one to speak. “Jedi Knight Dhegon,” he said, addressing the Guardian, “the Council agrees that this is a good course of action to take. In lesson Makiro has occasionally become arrogant, however he has a level of determination which many other Younglings do not posses. I hope that with your wisdom you are able to progress Makrio’s training and make the best use of his potential. May the Force be with you.” He bowed his head as he dismissed the Knight with the Council’s blessing.
Soon Vreem would have to return to the reports which would darken his day, but he made sure to note this meeting and to keep an eye on the progress of both Iota and Makiro in the years to come. The Youngling would no doubt be missed by his friends during the next class, but Vreem would remind them that he is making his next step on the path to becoming a Jedi Knight.

Jace sat quietly in his seat as he looked around the council's chambers. The council spent almost all of their time here, sitting, thinking, debating, and whatever else needed to be done. It was not exactly the most exciting thing around, especially for a 'young' Jedi like himself. Some of the masters on this council were many times older than he was. He held great respect for each of the members and they in turn did the same.
Jace didn't believe it was time wasted though, many important issues were resolved here. They were constantly decided who should become a Knight and who should be allowed to be a padawan. No doubt, what they did here decided the future of the Jedi order. There Jedi order has been diminished but he had faith as long as the council was intact then things would be alright.
Jace sighed and thought Many are turning to the darker ways of the force and our ranks dwindle. I do not forsee peace in the near future either, no on the contrary, there seems like there will be more suffering
With this thought, Jace began meditating and once again working on his already deep connection with the force. The dark side clouded everything, so one most know as much as he can when it reveals itself.

(Hope you don’t remind a response to your post Jace)
Once again Vreem sat perched in his seat in the Council chamber; over half of the Council was assembled on this day, which for Vreem counted as a good turn-out. They were not due to look over something for a little while and so the chamber was rife with discussion.
Vreem found himself going over a number of different subjects. At first he was speaking to one of his neighbours, an old human Master whose hair was thin and grey with both worry and wisdom, the man’s wrinkles were quite prominent, it was quite obvious that he was a fan of frowning as he now looked as though it was a permanent expression. His eyes were a faint blue, glassed over with age. His nose was large and from his flaring nostrils protruded a forest of nasal hair, enough to create a wig should the rest of the fine grey strands fall out of his head as well. Vreem was talking about his thoughts on the training of the younglings and alternate ways in which it could be done, in order to prepare them more for what awaited them on missions. However, he often found his case impeded by the traditions and rules the older Council Member spewed out like an archaic text book.
Not wanting to continue to face the ridicule or ignorance of the older Master, Vreem quickly steered the discussion in a different direction, current situations. Since his mission to both Devaron and Kashyyyk, both of which proved to be rather important and difficult missions, Vreem had not been out of the temple, he only knew of things that the Knights and Masters who actively took missions had to report, which was often not a lot.
More and more Vreem was able to sense his desire to get out of the temple, take upon a mission and see it through for the best, to have a positive effect upon the galaxy, like he used to. There was only so much he could do sat in a chair, his view or vote easily overshadowed by the eleven opposing views.
It had been well over a year now since his acceptance on the Council, in fact it was probably nearing two years, and even though he enjoyed teaching the younglings, handing out guidance to the Knights, Padawans and sometimes even Masters, who needed it, he realised how much the position wasn’t in his liking. Yet it was an honour to be where he was, especially considering his track record and the events surround both his ascension and master. He would have thought that they would have served as deterrents for such a position but apparently they didn’t. Partially he believed it was for his strong and fairly unique association with the Force, he couldn’t even recall anyone else in the order who could do some of the things he could. But he saw that as a good thing, because he doubted that the story which went along with them was a happy one.
Quickly Vreem found himself disliking the conversation he was having and who he was having it with. Luckily his partner in this conversation was eagerly drawn into another discussion, where he would be able to voice that opinion of his which sounded like lines he’d learnt for a play.
With a sigh the Master sank back into his chair and closed his eyes for a few moments in weariness. As fluttered open again, he noticed that free from discussion he was able to view the room from an entirely different perspective. Were these really the Order’s finest, strongest and wisest? Or was it just a gaggle of children, all squawking their views out here and there, professing their so called wisdom and trying to appear better than those present. At times, Vreem noticed that it was rather hard to tell the difference.
His gaze wandered to his left where he saw one of the newer members of the Council. Jedi Master Jace Beleren, he was older than Vreem and had joined the Council a bit after him, in all honesty Vreem had never really spoken to him. At this moment in time he sat secluded in his own mind, not squabbling like most of those in the chamber were doing. There was a look, or perhaps it was a feeling that Vreem got through the Force, of concern, maybe even worry, emanating from the man. Vreem spoke to him, quietly, on a personal level, in order to keep the conversation away from the bickering bystanders. “Master Beleren, I don’t mean to intrude, but is there something on your mind?” Vreem asked with concern and waited patiently for a response.

(OOC: I was actually counting on you replying)
Jace who was lost in his thoughts was suddenly brought back to the realm of the real. He noticed that another Master on the council was talking to him, it was Jedi Master Vreem Took. Master Took was someone who he held great respect for, even though Took was younger than he. From all that he had heard and sensed from Master Took, he sensed greatness in him. He knew Master Took was more like himself, not content just sitting in these chambers, important as it may be. Jace longed to get out of the chambers and bring peace with his own hands, he felt incomplete just sitting here. He finally addressed Master Took
"Ahhh Master Took, forgive me, I was lost in thought. As one would expect with a Master of your reputation, your ability to read a person is excellent. Yes, my mind is troubled by many things, which I find far more disconcerting then these pretty republic affairs. There is some disturbance in the force, yet when I try to send my thoughts in its direction, it is clouded. It leads me to only one conclusion, the dark side of the force is getting stronger and is clouding our site. I do not take well to just sitting here, I would prefer to investigate with my own hands."
He gave a long sigh before continuing
"Chosen to serve on this council is the greatest honor of my life yet it is not without its problems. I long to get out and deal with problems myself instead of sending others to do it. We have seen more and more dark Jedi lately. Just the other day I talked to a young Knight who had encountered a Dark Jedi. Something needs to Master Took, yet I am not sure how to go about it. So you see these are things which have been troubling my mind"
Jace let out another long and heavy sigh, and waited to see how Master Took would react. Would he be like the other council members and suggest patience as they always did? or maybe he would agree? Jace wasn't sure but he had to admit, he felt he could trust Master Vreek explicitly.

Vreem considered his own thoughts for a moment before responding, a trait he had worked hard towards after achieving the rank of Master, he had to be more cautious of what he said, he was meant to be an example to others after all. The concerns that Master Beleren were expressing were certainly not new to his ears. Some of the highly sensitive Knights and Masters had also brought up the matter with him briefly and he too had been able to sense the growing darkness, it was bigger and more ominous than anything he could remember, even the aura Mhor had given off paled in comparison. And in Vreem’s experience, that was saying a lot.
“Your concern is not without reason Master Beleren,” Vreem began, an express look of concern set into his prominent features, “something is coming, yet what it is and how far away it is remains clouded. There are many forebodings and problems currently with the Order which I feel are not helping. Some of the Jedi I have worked with previously have vanished suddenly, my major concern is a Knight whom I braved Kashyyyk with,” even the mention of the planet swiftly returned to him that stomach wrenching feel of vertigo he had hoped to forget, “and then take into consideration your point about the rising number of active Dark Jedi and you can see that things are certainly piling against us.”
He stopped and once again and thought upon the matter, it certainly warranted careful consideration for it was not a light subject to talk about. After a few brief moments to himself Vreem collected his thoughts and once again spoke to Master Beleren, his voice maintained its deep and powerful tone whilst also containing those casual and subtle hints of wisdom and gentleness. “I understand your feelings, it is an honour to be sat here, but after too long it feels as though this room is where we spend most of our time, when we should be out side by side with the Knights and Masters of the Order, bringing peace and overseeing justice. However, if you take into consideration the matter of our diminishing ranks and the increasing number of Dark Jedi perhaps we shouldn’t look beyond the possibility that many of these Dark Jedi were once members of our Order. If that’s the case then I believe we have a duty whilst we’re confined to this temple. To train the next generation, train them so that they are able to resist the lull of the Dark Side.” He paused briefly before continuing. “It is certainly easy to believe that we are not doing all we can, but perhaps it would be best to try and view every discrepancy, every moment stuck within these walls, as an opportunity to affect the play of things in a different way to many members of the Order.”
Slipping into the very back of his chair, he rested his jaw upon his hand and stroked it with his thumb, an odd habit he had recently acquired. “Although if things continue the way they do, I don’t think it will be long until we are able to move from these chairs in order to take a more active role in order to try and prevent what may be coming. If we act without the decision of the council and instead act upon passion then we will all easily fall into the ranks of the Dark Jedi. Do you see what I mean Master Beleren?”
Vreem looked towards the Master, the same concerned expression planted on his face that was there when he started speaking. Already he had slipped into the intricacies of the conversation, forgetting the presence of all the other Council Members in the chamber.

Jace was not at all frustrated by what Master Took had said, he knew that acting on passion alone could be dangerous and even a path to the dark side. He knew Master Took was right, that at the rate things were going, it looked like they were going to have to take a more proactive role in the pursuit of peace and justice. He let all that Master Took had said run through his mind before responding.
"What you say is wise Master Took, I suppose I am still young and new to the idea of the high council. I agree that training and advising those in the Order will be of great benefit in the dark times that I foresee."
Jace decided that there wasn't much that could be done here, so he decided to turn the conversation in to a more immediate matter, and possibly very important one.
"This Knight that you had travelled with, to Kashyyyk I believe, he has disapeared? When did you last talk to him? and can you discern any meaning out of his dissapearance and that of the other Jedi whom you have mentioned"
This matter troubled Jace greatly, if they had not turned to the dark side, then they were either dead or possibly taken captive. This was something that needed to be investigated decisively and the problem rooted out quickly.
