I highly recommend the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin.
It is not only the best fantasy series I have ever read, but the best fiction series I have ever read.
It is so good that you need to go out right now and buy it. The first book in the series is a Game of Thrones.
Go out and buy it immediately!

That reccomendation is for everyone. Well, everyone highschool age or older. It is more of an adult series than say the Dragonlance series. You have to check if the library has it.

oooooooooooohhhhh, I never noticed this thread.
Here's my currently reading/recommendations
Currently reading The Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb. Good so far, though it starts out a little slow.
I very highly recommend the Gentlemen Bastard series by Scott Lynch to everyone. Currently, only two books are out of a planned seven, The Lies of Locke Lamora and Red Seas Under Red Skies, and they are both good. Lies has probably moved up to one of my top five favorite books of all time, and the main character is great. So much so that I based my Jedi on him, in more than just name. Although, for those who may be sensitve to such things, the books are riddled with profanity.
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss is also a great read. It's the first book of a trilogy, and the second book, which is to be called The Wise Man's Fear, is due out sometime soon.
And here's another voice for the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Really good. Read them.

I moved it... it was buried in the general chat board. Anyway, I am reading The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett. It's my second time reading it, and I think I'm enjoying it even more this time.

About to start "The Gunslinger" by Stephen King. Heard a lot of good things about the series so I figured I'd check it out.
Recently finished books 2,3, & 4 of the Cal Leandros series: "Moonshine", "Madhouse", & "Deathwish" Definitely a great series that takes the whole supernatural aspect and turns it on its head a little bit. Es muy bueno.
Also need to re-read "On Killing" and "On Combat"...very informative books. Some of the theories are a little out there, but a lot makes common sense. "On Combat" is a really good read for helping you understand just how powerful your own mindset can be. It re-emphasizes that if you think you are going to lose, you will, but if you are never willing to give up, you can do more than seems possible.

Currently, I'm reading two books at once. One is on my computer and is Deception, a SW book set just before the Phantom Menace. I'm also reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It's a paperback fiction about the real life Vlad Dracul. It centers around a set of historians who are fated to discover that Vlad is still alive and well and fairly pissy about being undead. XD Heh.

Currently in the middle of reading... two, I think. xD
The Cole Protocal by Tobias S Buchell. And then a book from the Left Behind Series, called Tribulation Force. I'm dying to read the next six books of the CHERUB series, but they're only sold in Europe. Hope to get those for Christmas. I want the second book of the Night Angel series.
The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks is fantastic if you like being tricked a lot. I'll bet you that you can never figure out what might actually happen. Heehee.
Then I have to start on the million books Mom keeps handing me... Whatever in the world those are.

Just finished reading Death Troopers, a star wars book written by Joe Schreiber. It was pretty interesting and even featured Han Solo. I wouldn't want to spoil the book, but I've leave the books undernote. "No fate could be more terrifying than being trapped in space. Unless there's something unknown out there with you." macfantasie.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/death-troopers2.jpg

Yeah, Death Troopers was good. I'm reading the third Darth Bane novel: Dynasty of Evil by Drew Karpyshan (I think I butchered his last name but I'm too lazy to Google).

Dynasty of Evil was awesome, much better than the second novel and just as good as the first, if not better.
Anyway, now I'm reading Violets are Blue by James Patterson.

So, after finishing The Gathering Storm, which was great, I've decided to re-read The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss.
