Map: (Pending)
Setting: Karatos forces have captured the storehouses of Deltani Fortress (random name) and in response the rest of the Fortress has focused its efforts on removing them. Other Republic Soldiers have blocked off all possible retreats for the Karatos. The bombardment attack by Mandalorian Capital vessels have damaged the Republic hangars making their own Capital ships inoperable. The same attack jarred the facilities long enough for Mandalorian reinforcements to land. The Mandalorian reinforcements landed in such a way that a liftoff retreat is now impossible therefore making the battle a fight to the death and increasing urgency.
Republic: 200 (60% inside fortress 30% outside fortress), Perimeter AA Turrets, Fighters, Defense Turrets
Mandalorians: 170 (150 at ships 20 at Storehouses), Dropships, Capital Ships (in space)
(Don't know whether CG should approve or what)

Green: GrassBlue: TurretsRed: RepublicTeal: MandaloriansBrown: KaratosAll turrets are high precision types and can hit far distances (length on map 1 would be Turret one beginning its firing sequence when the first enemy reaches the northern beginning of the hill. Of course that is without their being any obstructions like the hill itself. Map 2 the outlined squares are complexes, the storehouse complex, and the main complex. The main complex is where the vaccine is located. There is still more room for defenses to be made. (hint hint) (I hope these are suitable, if not say so OOC and I'll see what I can do. Otherwise just say you are okay and ready to go and we can start.)

(kind of totally goes against what would happen in such a situation, and what I posted in the In Orbit thread, and most sensibility.
Let's look at this. Concord Dawn is a Mandalorian bread basket, seized fifty years ago by Republic forces and still occupied. More so, the Mandalorians have declared war against the Republic and taken Mandalore. Concord Dawn is not only an important food stuff supplier, but also a gateway into the Mid Rim and the more coreward regions and easily defensible because of the virus. That makes it a priority target for the Mandalorians. Even if the Republic was led by retarded nine year olds, there would still be a single battle squadron in system. That means sixty capital ships, twenty hammerheads and forty corellian gunships, in orbit. From what I've read, the Mando's don't even have a third of that. There would have to at least be a fierce battle in the space above Concord Dawn before any ground actions. and btw, deployed Capital Ships are never kept parked on the ground, they're there to patrol and keep safe the space above a planet. They'd only be on the ground to off-load troops, which they would have done from space in special shuttles so that the vaccine could be applied to the troops and the virus prevented from spreading off-planet.
as for taking the entire planet, your numbers really aren't going to cut it. Being extremely conservative, the world would have at least twenty-thousand Republic infantry, along with the armor and artillery etc. that comes along with them, if not hundreds of thousands. There would definitely by starfighter bases on-planet, and likely hundreds of thousands of security forces to oversee the occupation. The compound guarding the vaccine would be the most heavily-defended place on the planet, likely housing the majority of the troops.
I also highly doubt that the Republic would never export even just a medical analysis of the vaccine off-planet in the half a century it's been there dealing with the virus.
It really makes no sense that an upstart group of Mando's could suddenly be assaulting the main fortress, while also cutting off all retreat and rendering air/space support inoperable, on such a high-priority, important world during a war where the Republic would be fortifying all occupied Mandalorian worlds and other planets along the likely Mandalorian assault corridor, if they hadn't already simply sent a fleet to Mandalore to wipe out the insurrection at its heart. This whole scenario needs to be totally reworked.)

(see it's good that we do this because nobody has ever told me how we are working with number wise. So I can see how to plan accordingly, what needs to happen is we step back from the eminent battle part and I will ask some questions to see how large everything is. So I'll be putting it on hiatus temporarily.)

(I like the maps, but post an explanation. As for the setting. Keep in mind that Mandalore was NOT taken. A small Republic command center at the capital was, and it was taken by a band of ex-mandalorian pirates. Even if the Republic figured out that it was the Mandalorians, they still wouldn't have time to get to Concord Dawn, because Mandalore fell TWO DAYS AGO. Plus, the mandalorians on Concord Dawn are not the same ones who took Mandalore. They're a separate group who are rebelling independantly of anybody else. Plus, the planet is no longer a breadbasket because of the Mandalorian Crusade and the fact that any food created there would have to be vaccinated in order to be shipped out. The planet is entirely self-sustinent. It is completely Isolated except for its proximity to trade routes, which do little but bring in the stray bounty hunter. People don't go to Concord Dawn, and people rarely leave. It's PERFECT for a small-scale battle. I say we keep the numbers the way we are. WE've already tried the big battles, let's see how a small one works.)

After the ships had touched down Mandalore slowly exited the transport ship he was inside of. He looked left and right to see Mandalorians filing out of the ships to either side of him. All Mandalore could do was smile, a smile that hidden behind his durable helmet. The stage is set, now let them bleed for what they did. What those Republic dogs did to my brothers and sisters, we shall see them burn for this capital offense. Here Cay felt like he hadn't aged a day passed 18, the moment when he left his father's clan on Dxun. Cay felt as if he was still the young, hot blooded Mandalorian that wanted to change the world. He hadn't disappeared and become a Bounty Hunter, he didn't need to think out deceptive plans in order to capture his targets, thereby tempering his boiling battle lusting blood. He hadn't traveled to countless star systems, and landed on an even greater number of planets looking for work or head hunting, an acts that forced him to slow down and think out movements and plans. These were all traits that a 27 year old Mandalorian, that spent 7 years hunting bounties and 2 years trying to keep a large family intact, would have. No, he felt like there wasn't a care in the world. He saw an objective and the battle that would be required in order to complete said objective. It was for that reason that the smile was on Mandalore's face, he was now Mandalore, because the slow, calculating, hesitant, Cay Severn, would never be able to fight like Mandalore could. Truly two different people in the same body. In a low voice it was Mandalore who roared out the command. Brothers! Here we see the Republic fortress in front of us. After discussing with the Karatos we now know that the turrets that are mounted at the main entrance can only shoot as far as the tip of the hills. Move was one unit to the base of the hills and we will separate into two groups. Felis leads the second group. Our objective is to destroy the Republic and Rescue our brothers! The prior bombardment no doubt hindered the bases, but at the same time the attack alerted the Republic to their orbital presence. Luckily Cay had rectified the solution so that Mandalore wouldn't even have to think about it. ***** Confirm damage!I can't get an accurate assessment at the moment Kain! Damn, we don't have enough time to wait. Is the cloaking device connected!?Yes, we finished about a minute ago. Tell the other ship to use their cloaking and make sure that the engines are cut. We will do the same.Right away. The orders given the Mandalorian began punching away at this and that. The Mandalorian looked over his shoulder to see Kain, his arms folded over one another looking out at the visual of the planet. The Mandalorian could no doubt tell that the Mandalorian technician had his mind on Mandalore and his fairing. Justice II, and the other two ships slowly disappeared from sight and radar. (Well now I've given a better perspective of the new Mandalore, and how un-Mandalore-ish he is, but at the same time he is. o_0)

Solus'ad stepped off the drop ship at Mandalore's flank, his heavy repeater targetting system jacked into his helmet. He slowly observed the field and listened quietly as Mandalore gave them an inspired speech. Glory, mercilessness, bloodlust, it was all there and it made Solus'ad feel like he had found himself. A long lost child finding his home in the dark woods. Yet he himself was the Krath hound seeking the blood of the Nerf. Inside his helmet he licked his ageing lips, holding back the saliva that threatenned to leak from his mouth.
He hungered for this. He felt the beast inside him stir in anticipation at the upcoming battle. An underfead predator, hungering for the kill. Desperate to strike out and bring down the enemy.
On the outside Solus'ad was a stone. A statue of Fera-steel, glass, and fibers. He was ready. A Gurrcat prepared to pounce. A Slice hound ready to rip out the juggular of this prey.
He awaited Mandalore's order.

Commander Reechi looked over the reports, and sighed. This wasn't good. They had been cut off from reinforcements, decimated, and prevented from deploying any heavy weapons or ships. All he had was the base, a handful of turrets, and two hundred infantry.
He set his jaw. He hadn't gone through four years at the military academy for nothing. He would make do.
"Major, ready the turrets. Get the techs to them, I want to squeeze all the range nad power out of them that I can get. Set up seventy-five men on each hill, opposite the road and the current mandalorian position. I want them to fortify up there. We need to keep the high ground. I want all repeating and heavy weapons up there. Set up overlapping fields of fire, and easy targeting on the enemy approach. Use the transport and some speeders, and create a roadblock on the road between the hills. Put the other fifty men there. I want them dug in there strong. We need to hold that position. Lock down the storehouse, I don't want anyone to get out. depressurize it as well. Set the turret for maximum power, and unleash on those Karatos bastards. We'll let them die as they suffocate to death."
The Major nodded, and Reechi watched the holodisplay as his orders were implemented. A grim smile spread across the hard man's features.
If the Mandalorians wanted Concord Dawn, they would have to pay for it with blood.

Mandalore, we have reports that they are finally sealing off the storehouses. I will try and keep the line open, but after they seal us off there is no guarantee of anything. I will destroy one of those turrets. We had explosives brought in to keep the Republic at bay from fear of their supplies, food and otherwise, would be destroyed. I will differ the explosives to the turret and set it off.
Change of plans, we will stay as one body and attack the turrets one at a time. We're going to take the outside bend of the left most hill. Felis, ready the explosives. We will power through into the headquarters!
At the will of Mandalore there was a change. It wasn't much, but it seemed as two definite lines had formed. The first line was filled with experienced Mercenary Mandalorians that had changed their ways upon meeting Mandalore. The line after them was a complete set of Mandalorians straight from Mandalore that had been trained at the hands of Mandalore's facility.
Mandalore grinned within his mask as he marched in the third row. He knew the Republic wasn't completely prepared. There was no real tactic, just an objective. Mandalorian armor would prove the deciding factor in the coming conflict, Turret vs. Mandalorians. Their armor would no doubt keep them alive for more than one shot on average and from the specs Dante gave him the turrets seemed to be of a ranged variety, very accurate too. These turrets were usually most likely meant for picking off a few rogue Mandalorians before they could reach the base, but will, again, most likely be a bad matchup against an army of Mandalorians that were properly equipped.

(Can I get real stats on Mandalorian Armor please? While they undoubtedly can stand up to a good amount of small-arms fire, I highly doubt they can take a shot from an anti-infantry turret.)
Reechi smiled as he eyed the holoscreen. This Mandalore was smarter than he had thought. Instead of charging straight into the fray, as a normal mandalorian would have done, he was moving around the outside edge of the leftmost hill, effectivly bypassing the defenses at the road and the right hill.
"Have the defenders at the right hill move past the near side of the left hill and dig in right in the path of the Mandalorians. Have the left turret and the left hill defenses provide cover. Prepare the left hill defenses to charge into the mandalorian flank if they decide to bypass that hill as well. Have the defenders on the rode come around the front of the left hill once the mandalorians pass and hit them from behind. Make sure they are careful and well defended. I don't want the mando's to turn to the right and break through them before we can move our forces again. Have the right turret cover them as much as it can. Have all heavy weapons and artillery moved near the turret and begin firing on the mandalorians. Have them ready to cover the road defenders as well."
He thought a moment about the storehouses, and spoke once more. "Have a platoon dig-in around the door to the storhouses, and have the headquarters turret covering them. If the mandalorians in there manage to destroy the turret, not suffocate, and break through the door, we'll have them bottled up there. They can only charge through a few at a time, and we can cut them all down."
He watched the screen as his orders were implemented. Your turn, Mandalore.

Stop!
Mandalore's voice boomed out projecting in a circular radius that encompassed his unit. On command the Mandalorians stopped. He has pulled two fakes as to tactics and now he would revert to something more Mandalorian like. He pointed at the hill and the unit began to scale the rather steep hill.
At our base we are nothing more than Mandalorians, and that base will be enough to destroy these stupid Republicans.
Mandalore had a need, it was a need to take the blood of Republic people. He had not sated that hunger yet, and this battle would do the trick. As he contemplated this his face bore a malicious grin, ready to take in that utter joy that the battle would bring.
The unit reached the top of the hill and their motions at this point were no doubt known. Nevertheless Mandalore pointed forward and made the fateful call.
Wipe them out!
With that call the unit broke and rather than being orderly military lines of attack the Mandalorians became jumbled sections of troops with the rookies, who were unfortunate enough to not be given blasters but forced to wield Vibroblades all time. With the increased momentum from the downward fall it would be harder for the Republic to target and hit the Mandalorians with accuracy and it would greatly decrease the time it would take to reach the base. The first section, the rookies, would prove invaluable because while they were susceptible to blaster fire, and more importantly the turrets, they would be already prepped for when they came in contact with the first line of the Republic. They would simply slice through them and the remaining would most likely be shot down.
***** Are the charges set?
We're all set Dante!
Good, stand back!
The Mandalorian along with two others took quick steps away from the turret. Dante pressed a button and the 4th turret was officially out of commission, and to even make an attempt to fix it would require direct contact. Of Dante was well prepared for that.
Now, go back into the store rooms and see if you can find grenades or more explosives. All we need to do is punch a small hole in these walls and we'll be able to work from there.
In the current situation, the leader of Karatos could only rely on hope. That hope would pull him through the battle alive and with a couple of his brothers at his side, or leave him dead.
(OOC: An overestimation on Mandalore's part, they can't survive a direct hit from a turret)

Solus'ad had returned fire with his Heavy repeater mainly as covering volleys so that Mandalore's unit could move forward. The occasional Republic soldier that got in the way found himself shredded by blasterfire, or pinned under cover until the rookies could run in for a stabbing. Giving Solus'ad a target when he was meant to protect Mandalore was a fools errand, the worst idea possible. His mind was keen and focussed. Their movement was only forward. When the Republic soldiers stationned here shifted tactics to one so very familier. Solus'ad heard the order in his head even before Mandalore's voice came over the coms in his helmet.
"Wipe them out."
Solus'ad licked his lips and rushed forward. All reservations abandonned now for the carnage and destruction he hungered for. All around him Mandalorians pushed forward their blasters screaming their song of death. Occasionally a grenade exploded near the enemy lines, and in amongst their own. All around him was chaos.
Inside his suit, Solus'ad's heartrate was jacked. Spikeing around 130bpm, his H.U.D. would show warning lights telling him his stress levels weren't stable. All he could do was grin and yell out his battle cry. His hands, were steady, and strong. Gripping the control handle on the repeater, and guiding it around useing the arm ensured a deadly pounding of blaster fire.
Up ahead three republic soldiers abandonned their cover to run. Solus'ad didn't even think for a moment before he put them down. Their bodies fell forward as limply as the rag dolls he used to play with as a child.
