Ashoka Tano is, in my opinion, the worst character to ever come out of the Star Wars franchise. Yes, worse even than Jar Jar blinkin' Binks.
I would like to point out, however, that she is not present in any SW sources later than Episode III. Does this mean we will get to finally see the end of Mary Sue Ashoka, or does it mean that she will somehow survive the events that killed many, many full-grown Jedi. I fear the latter is horribly likely...

Meh, she's annoying, sure, but she never really bothered me enough to want her killed on live tv. Heh. Still, I agree that she really does feel just like some thrown in part that doesn't need to be there. No mention is ever made of her in any respect in ANY movie. It feels like she was put there just so kids would have some bland fill in for what they wish they could be. :/ But no, Jar Jar annoys me more. Seriously. I can't STAND him. I go into apopleptic fits when ever he comes on screen. >___<

I really don't like her... she's insolent... and it bothers me that they threw her in even when in Epi. III Anakin was DENIED a padawan and mastership... which means he never became master... which means she's useless... right?

I haven't seen enough Clone Wars episodes to warrant much of an opinion besides that of the film.
I'm on the fence about her right now. She's annoying, but usually it's when she's annoying Anakin, which is WIN.

Firstly I'd just like to say I don't actually want to see her killed XD I've far too weak a constitution for that sort of nonsense Secondly, I agree wholeheartedly with WWFF. Not only is she a terrible Jedi (and far too ignorant of the general rules of being a Jedi for someone who should have been living at the Jedi Temple for long enough to be as old as she is), her inclusion is almost completely nonsensical as regards canon...

I haven't seen -any- Clone Wars related material. But I -have- seen some commercials, and she's annoying enough in those. But what -really- put me off of her was the Internet's..."fascination", as it were, with her. I won't go into specifics, but you guys should be old enough to know exactly what I mean. >.>

She's annoying and she is a departure from cannon, yet I believe, other than a few aspects, the entire 'Clone Wars' series is a departure from cannon.
The series was made to boost the StarWars fanbase, and to expand that fan base into the younger audiances. Though why they ever thought they would need to do that is beyond me.
The big question, since we all know what happens to Anakin and others: What happens when they end the 'Clone Wars' series? How will they pull it off?

I'm hoping that, some how and for some reason, Ashoka is in the Jedi Temple when Anakin goes Vader and starts dispatching Jedi. It'd be a hilarious scene, Anakin and his would-be apprentice? Come on! It'd be the perfect end!

Not only is she a terrible Jedi (and far too ignorant of the general rules of being a Jedi for someone who should have been living at the Jedi Temple for long enough to be as old as she is), her inclusion is almost completely nonsensical as regards canon... Paradoxically, I agree with both of the above. Ahsoka's existence makes absolutely no sense(even Galen Marek is semi-plausible in terms of the way he's shoehorned into the story, whereas Ahsoka's just sort of there with no explanation whatsoever), and what little I've seen of the character has displayed a blatant disregard for Jedi doctrine that makes Anakin look obedient and respectful. Yet the only really annoying bits I've seen of her had her mainly annoying Anakin, and post-Episode-I Anakin I intensely dislike, so that's WIN. All in all, on the fence.

As any writer knows, characters are there to add to a story. If you have a character that adds nothing to a story, they should be removed. If you have a character that detracts from a story, they should be removed and you should yell at yourself in a mirror for poor writing.
Star Wars (particularly the prequel era, but arguably the story as a whole) is the story of Anakin. A major aspect of his character during his time as a Jedi is that he was brash, arrogant, impulsive and, ultiamtely, not trusted by the Jedi Council. Yoda didn't want him trained. Mace Windu explicitly said he did not trust him (believe it was in the novelization of Revenge of the Sith). This reaction to distrust is largely why Anakin feels that he doesn't belong with the Jedi, a feeling exploited by Palpatine who appears as the one friend who accepts him wholly as he is, and plays a major part in why, when he has to choose between the Jedi and Palpatine, he chooses Palpatine.
The character of Ashoka Tano undermines this aspect of the story. The idea that the Jedi allowed Anakin a padawan and, moreover, let him keep her after she repeatedly exhibited all the bad traits that they distrust him for actually weakens the plot point of Anakin feeling closer to Palpatine than the Jedi... which is sort of an important pillar holding up the plot in which Anakin becomes Darth Vader...
Placing Ashoka in canon is akin to causing Anakin to fall in love with someone else while away from Padme - it makes the motivations that cause him to act as he does less plausible and weakens the story as a whole. So, setting aside any annoyance one may or may not feel towards the character, that is why I find her character to actually by worse than Jar Jar Binks.

My opinion is very simple, as I see Ahsoka was created for Clone Wars series. To be honest it's quite different from the movies. She almost like a cartoon character, and as this kind she fit perfectly in the series. There are lots of creativity and good ideas in that char, so I think she's cool. ;D

You know, I don't hate her, I actually kind of like her, for a few reasons. Yes, she's a bit insolent, and a bit reckless, but her and Anakin's teacher-student friendship works because of that. Anakin is a bit like that, and I think he might see a little bit of himself in her. *shrug*
Personally, I'm not a massive lore nut, and I don't get offended when people slip in things that don't make sense. However, on the same note, I don't see a reason to get mad if said thing doesn't affect the story in a huge way. It's not like Ashoka is going to kill Anakin and stop him from being Darth Vader, or do something insanely important. Well, she will, but she's a Jedi, most Jedi do important things with their lives.
Another thing, from what I grasped from the movie, Ashoka's there because Obi-Wan and Yoda wanted Anakin to learn detachment, as Ashoka would eventually have to become a Knight and leave Anakin. Although this plan backfired, I still think it's an interesting concept.
Hate my reasoning or strange, confounded logic, but I don't hate Ashoka, and in fact I kind of like her. (And not for the reasons Sporky pointed out earlier on.)

I hate her . her character and the series in general messed up the star wars universe that i loved. She is way to powerful for a 14 year old, for a Jedi in general. I know the show is for kids an all but couldn't it be at least a little possible, even for star wars.

I honestly find the Ahsoka hate amusing. Does she annoy me? Not really. I see her as she was specifically designed to be, a cartoon teenage side-kick for Anakin Skywalker. She has all of the cartoon teenaged side-kick mannerisms, tendencies for trouble, brashness, idiocy, "heart of gold" personality traits, and enough facepalm qualities -- she fulfills this role perfectly. Considering this character is for a CGI cartoon kids series, she fulfills that role as she was meant to.
Do I like her? No. Do I hate her? No. Do I find her annoying? Sometimes yes, other times not really. I have a healthy form of indifference toward her for the very reasons I stated above.
The entire issue of her as the biggest fail to canon. Not really. I find TFU to be a far larger grievance to canon, or anything written by Karen Traviss regarding the Mandalorians. What makes something canon breaking or altering? Impact. What impact does her character have outside of the specifically the fail that is the Clone Wars as it was poorly portrayed within the movies by George Lucas? None. She has no impact within canon outside of that whatsoever. She has pretty much zero effect on the EU. Seriously, pick up some source material and start flipping through it and see what reaching effect Ahsoka Tano has had outside of the Clone Wars? Found any? No? That's because she doesn't have any.
So, with all of that, personally, I don't see any reason to get ones panties in a twist about it or give a damn about her.

I have to agree with most of the points given. Ahsoka Tano has no canonical relivance, in fact she does go against what makes Anakin Skywalker turn into Darth Vader. As far as padawans go, she is extremely over-powered. She's only 13 years old and she's keeping up with trained assassins in lightsaber duels and saving Jedi Masters from their own stupid mistakes.
While yes, padawans have been known to save those of higher ranks than themselves, I doubt any padawan would be able to keep up with and defeat a trained assassin not once but, 4 times. That I know of anyway. Padawans also don't have the experience necessary to predict behavior, they've been in the temple studying for most of their lives.
As far as liking-disliking her goes. I've seen quite a bit of the tv show Clone Wars, and though there is no point to her presence, she does bring a certain humor to the show. That I believe is the only thing she brings to the show though. The fact that the show is for kids annoys me far more than Ahsoka herself, as does Ahsoka's power level. Besides, doesn't LucusArts or whoever is in charge of the show, know that most of the fan base is older than ten years old by now?
I have to agree with River Critter/Otter, Jar Jar Binks annoys me far, far, far...far more. So my vote is somewhat between the 3rd and 4rth marker. She annoys me somewhat but, at the same time I wouldn't mourn her death if she were to be killed on live tv, lol.
