The Battle of Yaga Minor

Hey all,

Well I was suppose to put this up earlier I suppose but got somewhat sidetracked. Anyways with the battles at Rhen Var and Subterrel going on, the Jedi and Sith are pretty much occupied. Yet there are still those with Republic and Sith Empire(Military) characters. We had planned on having a 3rd major battle, this time at Yaga Minor. The question is whether we simply write this battle off as a news report or actually RP it. This all depends on how many people are willing to take part in this battle.

So I am simply asking that if anyone with a Republic or Sith military would like to take part in this battle, please post here. If there are a reasonable amount of people willing to RP the battle with their characters then I will organize a proper thread for such battle

EDIT: I will also allow a few Blades who didn't get a chance to get involved in Rhen Var

If there's no one else throwing any characters in why not see if a couple of people would like to NPC characters? Just so there's a bit of variety about the place.

If the Blue Sun Squadron goes to the battle then I'll have Mizuno Betulia go as a pilot with them, if not then my Jedi Master, whom is a member of the blades, will go.

hmmmmmmmm this is mostly supposed to be military but honestly I can't think of a good reason to say no. So Jump in!! (y)

its safe to say that this battle is much more relaxed in an RP sense compared to the other two.

Oh just a reminder to all. Yaga Minor is to be a Sith Empire Win.

We will also split it into two different threads, Sith Empire and Republic. Chances are if you are a Jedi, you will have to fight NPCs or things along those lines since the Sith Empire side is mostly composed of PC soldiers.

Remember this is supposed to be a Military focused battle. So I don't want to see your Jedi single handedly taking on the whole invasion.

My Jedi Master is a commander type of guy, so I may not even fight from the front, rather coordinate the Republic troops. How bad of a loss is this supposed to be?

It can be a close battle, that way everyone can have their fun. So you can RP it that way if you so wish. Most of our Sith characters are gonna be on the front line, so I won't actually write about the overall battle until near the end.

yeah, perhaps taken by surprise and ambushed? Valiant effort but thwarted none the less? I might do some frontline action while commanding as well.

Cav, I will give you the job of posting the Republic thread. It may be an idea to have it at a different location on the planet as the sith thread. I say this for a simple reason. This is so we don't run into problems where in the Sith thread we write something along the lines of "The Republic were pushed back" and then you go "The Sith were pushed back". This way both sides can have a good amount of leeway with how the want the battle to go.

Also hopefully we can find you atleast some NPCs so you aren't just posting by yourself.

I think I see what you are saying, like I am fighting in another theater of combat? I dont mind having one thread that way I could interact with the Sith, maybe do an epic lightsaber duel. But it might be a good idea to fight seperately, I just don't mind. It might be hard to coordinate as you are saying though.

Well I will leave it up to what you think is best. Honestly with so few us, it may just be better for you to post in the current thread that is already up. That way if you so choose you could fight one of the PC enemies or just do your own thing. So why don't we just do that instead. We kinda plan to have it in atleast two stages so far.

First, fighting on the outskirts of the city, and the moving into the city itself and then maybe some final stage. So it will kinda be slow push back for the Republic, slowly giving ground sort of thing. So I guess all I am saying is jump in the thread and we will go from there XD

Alright, if you dont want to read my post, Atu Soka had a premonition a few days before the Sith landed. He began drastic measures for defense of the facility, but he knows it wont be enough. It is essentially a long shot strategy with a backup main escape plan. The entire planet's defenses were concentrated at the facility, abandoning the rest of the planet. The rest of the planet followed a scorched earth policy, setting all the abandoned facility's to explode. They are all booby-trapped but can be remotely detonated.

The important part for all you guys on the ground, there is a shield generator + heavy anti-aircraft guns that prevent the big ships from giving proper support. Once the shield generator goes, the base has no hope because you can blast us to pieces from the air. Also, the initial attack was lightly defended on purpose, with the bulk of the planet's warships kept in reserve. Now that the transports have began landing and have left the safety of the battleship's cover, the reserve ships (much bigger than the transports but not strong enough to engage the battleships for long) have ambushed the transports now that they have began landing in an ambush. Without the support lots of em will get shot up and leave the initial landing force largely cut off unless the Sith continue to pour troops down into that kill zone. It would be like shooting ducks in a barrel for my ships against your transports, but this advantage wont last long cause your battleships will mop up the forces I sent to occupy them rather quickly, but not before significant damage is done to the ground troops and transports.

Since I am on the defensive I have this initial advantage. Afterwards I would have used all my cards and the city will slowly fall and we will run.
