Since Jenno said it best, I will quote from the last Awards:

Hello there ladies and gentlemen, it has been a busy year here at SWU. Sith Lords have risen to take control of the galaxy, the Jedi Order has lost both its highest ranking members to the darkness and with worlds divided, war has descended upon the Universe. Yet none of this would have been possible without the members of SWU, we would have no foundation with which to build this story, no characters to makes us laugh, cry, cringe or fear. And so these awards are for you, the members of Star Wars Universe, and your characters, the heart and soul of our Galaxy.

Voting:
It's simple, really. Fill out the below form as completely as you want. Don't feel a need to vote for all categories if you don't want to. Just fill it out to the best of your ability. Any and all votes will be awesome.

You may either post your votes here in this thread, or PM your votes to me if you would like them to remain anonymous, more of a surprise for the winners (I actually prefer this method but vote the way you feel comfortable).

With your vote, please include a reason for doing so. Just a few simple words will do. This is not to try to cause trouble or anything; we are recognizing the hard work of our members here. So try to come up with a well-thought out reason for your vote, instead of making a random list.


You cannot vote for one (1) single character in more than THREE (3) categories. Try to think of all the characters; not just a select few.

Your votes must be for completed characters and not NPCs, alos you are not allowed to vote for yourself or your characters.

Also, the characters must be active characters, as in, someone is actively posting with them.


Voting will continue through the end of August, when they will then be tallied, and the winners announced.

Best Civilian Bio:
With civilians, the galaxy wouldn't be the well-oiled machine that it is. Here is your chance to recognize those behind-the-scenes, the movers, the shakers.

Best Military Bio:
The defenders of the Republic, or those that fight to tear down the governing powers. Recognize the best military character, before they even stepped into battle.

Best Fringe Bio:
Who just made you feel they were the scum of the galaxy, just by reading their bio?

Best Jedi Bio:
The carriers of peace and justice, using the Force for the good of the galaxy. Which bio after you read it, just screamed out 'Jedi' to you?

Best Dark Jedi Bio:
Those who wield the dark side of the Force. Here you can recognize the baddest of the bad. Which bio best embodies a dark Jedi?

Best Overall Bio:
Even before they’ve interacted with the other characters on the board, there are some characters who have an amazing back story, some are humourous, others heart-wrenching. But which is the best?


Strongest Non-Force User Character:
If you like a good fight scene, this is the award for you. In this Galaxy there are a flurry of characters all seeking to prove their worth, best their opponent, but who do you think is the best combatant?

Strongest Force User Character:
Jedi, Sith and Dark Jedi have all had their fair share of epic battles, but which is the strongest? The one you most certainly wouldn’t want to bump into in a dark alley.

Coolest Character:
Each character has their own air about them, but which is the coolest? The one which has a certain air about them which just makes you stare in awe.

Wisest Character:
The Jedi Masters, Sith Lords, generals, senators, aristocrats. They may not always be in the fighting, but their decisions echo across worlds. These are the proud teachers, the subtle plotters, the politicians and the strategist. The true mastermind.

Funniest Character:
Let’s face it, there’s always that one character who just makes you laugh when they post. They’re the comedy relief, the funniest character.

Most Unique Character:
You know they're out there, those characters that don't fit until any category. They're odd. They're off the wall. But without them, the story would be dull. These characters fit in where no one else would. Who is the most unique?

Best Hero/Heroine, male and female (2 characters):
Who encompasses all that is good in the galaxy? If you could call one character to rescue you, who would it be?

Best Baddie, male and female(2 characters):
The last guy you would want to be stuck with in a dark alley. Who strikes fear into everyone's hearts, sometimes without speaking?

Heart throb:
You know the guy. The one all the ladies swoon over whenever he enters the room. Who is the sexiest character on the forum?

Hot mama:
All the men turn into bumbling idiots when she's around. Just one smile from her and their hearts melt. Which woman turns you on?

Best Duo (2 characters):
For the dynamic duo out there. Which two characters know each other the best? Which two have the perfect connection between them that gives them a story all their own? To the padawans and their masters, the lovers, the friends, the drunk and the bartender.

Best Group (3-5 characters):
Some characters travel in packs, either as a well-oiled team or a haphazard gathering of people with the same interests at heart. Who do you think is the best group in the galaxy?


Best Civilian Character:
This award goes to whoever you think is the best civilian, that character who sticks their nose where it doesn't belong, a senator that makes it his business to know everything, a celebrity who everyone loves. Simply, the best civilian on the forums.

Best Military Character:
That straight-laced man or woman who follows orders like no tomorrow. Whether defending the Republic or attempting to bring it down, or fighting for the glory of Mandalore, who is the best soldier around?

Best Fringer Character:
Smugglers, mercenaries, grey Jedi, all those shady characters trying to make their way in the world. Who best epitomizes "scum of the galaxy"?

Best Jedi Character:
That one Jedi character who best embodies the way of the Force, defender of peace and justice. This award goes to the best well-rounded Jedi.

Best Dark Jedi Character:
The shadows become alive. Simply, who you think is the evilest and best dark Jedi around.

Best Overall Character:
Best character is the award given to the character that is the most original, most thought-out, and most realistic. Simply the best character on the boards, the most well-rounded overall character.


Best Storyline:
This one goes out to the player who has come up with the best plotline, the one whose story captivates the reader and leaves them wanting more.

Best Battle:
This award goes to all the bloodthirsty players who can’t get enough of a battle. It can be a fight for an entire world, or it can be a fight between two characters. This is the one that keeps you guessing. The one where the people who aren’t even a part of it read and start rooting for one side or another.

Best Duel:
This award goes to those in the practice duel board. Sometimes the best battles aren't part of the storyline. Which is the duel that makes you wish there was just one more round, one last score to settle between two characters?

Best Post IC:
That post. Scroll back through the old threads and try to find it again. That one post that captured the moment perfectly. Where the writer poured everything they had into one solid post that was perfect.

At Star Wars Universe Roleplay we like to think we have a friendly member base, but who do you think is the friendliest? Someone who goes out of their way to welcome new members or to say hi or to help someone out? Is there a member who always manages to keep that upbeat attitude of theirs every single time you talk to them, can you think of a member who never ceases to be cheery?

Funniest Member:
With the odd bunch we’ve collected there are quite a number of jokers on the forum, who makes you laugh the most?

Most Creative Writer:
Often the best writer doesn’t necessarily mean they’re that creative, but there are some who have a great imagination and they capture it in words extremely well. Great use of imagery, metaphors and similes to really create a beautiful scene for others to envision. Which member do feel does that best?

Most Realistic Writer:
It’s not all about creating a great mental image, making the story and events seem real are also an important part of writing, but which member can do this the best?

Best Overall Writer:
The big one. Which player is it? The one who can write like no other? Write on all levels, from talking to another character, to fighting the good fight, to planning a battle, to the whole storyline. This is the one that you couldn’t have the story without. Someone who can write in just about any area. The Best Most Well-Rounded Writer at SWURP.

After some time thinking about, I have decided, this time, to count all the votes, no matter if they had a reason or not. Mostly because I realize that it was really a rule (I only asked you to try) and because we had so few votes, I wanted to recognize those that took the time.

A Gungan! A Gungan that isn't Jar Jar!!! A well written, interesting character.

Best Military Bio: Arkandos Phelan
Dude is a giant Mando Robot with an ancient brain. Do I really need to say more?

Best Fringe Bio: Axle Finne
Really interesting character concept.

Best Jedi Bio: Rhissai'arckan
Many times, when I see I have a Council Member bio in the pending section, I get a sick feeling to my stomach (for fear of all I will have to read). I loved every moment of this character's bio.

Best Dark Jedi Bio: Acalya Syclya
Like above, some bios are just easy and fun to read.

Best Overall Bio: Darth Iniquitous
Jenno had to put a lot of time and effort into making this bio. Considering the position the character was going to be taking, he had a daunting task before him. And I think he owned it.


Strongest Non-Force User Character: Mandalore
Even giant Mando Robots with ancient brains submit to his will...

Strongest Force User Character: Jace Beleren
Grand Master through election by other RPers. That's saying something.

Sexy Zeltron Jedi hunter FTW!

Wisest Character: Vreem Took
I might be a little biased with this, considering that my Jedi character sees Vreem as a role model, but through all the interactions Meira has had with him, and trough posts I've read where I'm not involved, this was an easy pick.

Funniest Character: Lash Venedray
Again, maybe I'm biased, but there is rarely a post made for this character that doesn't make me laugh.

Most Unique Character: Glem A'quae
Again, I think it's hard to make a Gungan and be able to avoid the stigma that is Jar Jar. Well done.

Best Good Guy-- male and female (list both): Talia Rivas, Ozzrill Ackbar
Talia might be a Mando, and so maybe not a "good" character, but in the bio, it talks about why she does what she does. She protects her people, so in my book, that counts. Ozzie, well... It's hard to be a Jedi Council member and not be good. A bastion of hope and peace.

Best Bad Guy-- male and female (list both): Gabriella Fisher, Eurachis
Psychopathic chic, soon to be darth... these two just send chills up and down my spine.

Heart throb: Itani Firians
Mysterious assassin, with charm to boot.

Hot mama: Aunna Borgonia
She's not afraid to get her hands dirty.

The thing about this relationship is the TENSION! Seriously!

It might be a rare thing to catch PSF on the site, and for a while, his posts were an even more rare commodity. But man, I don't think there's a single post he's written that I haven't enjoyed readin.

Character Awards:

Best Civilian Bio: Samantha Zaftig, well thought Bio. It also ties in with many other on-site characters which relates a high degree of cooperation.

Best Fringe Bio: Whiskey, troubled assassin. Like most of the other assassin characters, Whiskey has a high degree of detail both pre and post assassin.

Strongest Non-Force User Character: Arkandos Phelan. Oh cmon, a massive walking war-droid with a brain as its control center? Whats not to like.

Funniest Character: Daryn Destrell. The way this character flawlessly incorporates many firefly quotes and ideas really made me laugh.

Most Unique Character: Arkandos Phelan. Again, this is a given. There are other droids driven by brains in the star wars universe but this is a war machine, a siege engine.

Hot mama: Trinari Velos. Attractive AND kind-hearted. Whats not to like?

Best Civilian Character: Samantha Zaftig. She has such a complicated past that really makes her unique. The fact that she used to be a pilot for the military but was reduced to desk work after an accident makes her my favorite.

Best Fringer Character: Ocelot. Its not the fact that he was modeled after revolver Ocelot from the MGS series... ok, maybe it was.

Best Military Bio: Arkandos Phelan - Old guy, yes, good idea, certainly.

Best Fringe Bio: Axle Finne - There's an experiment on the loose! Seriously, good character idea. -nods-



Strongest Non-Force User Character: Arkandos Phelan - Droid, 400 something year old brain, yep. =3 HUGE, droid.

Strongest Force User Character: Jace Beleran. I think he's about got this spot sealed up. I've actually watched this character grow, and he makes a pretty darn good Grandmaster.

Coolest Character: Arc Laud - Not only does such the "big bad bounty hunter" make me giggle, but, when he saves your damsel from something she's not totally into doing, you'd probably think he was pretty cool, too. And he has red eyes. >.< How is that not cool?

Wisest Character: Vreem Took - his opinion (the character) should always be taken into consideration among anyone he speaks to, which my character will soon learn to do so, and quickly. He's just... a really great guy. O.o

Funniest Character: Lash Venedray - I've only glanced at a couple of posts, and Hsi would've gone here but there weren't any posts and I would only be going on what I know prior to SWU. >.< Lash got my vote because of the humor touched sarcasm, which is enjoyable to say in the least.

Most Unique Character: Jessica Chezz - Though a spin off on House, I think anyone who watches the show understands that House is his own person. Valadin does well in playing it off, too.

Best Good Guy-- male and female (list both): Jace Beleren and Rhissai - The Grandmaster and the sweet gal who'll heal me if I have ouchies. Come save me, please?

Heart throb: Delta (Jahn Solosten) - Just... -hearts-

Best Group (3-5 characters): Bane Haseful, Italia Firians, Malak Kra'Nelen, Arkandos Phelan - Okay, seriously, who else could've done a better job fighting those damn cops on Coruscant?

Best Civilian Character: Rook Solosten - >_> Common, who doesn't like the stud?

Best Military Character: Malak Kra'Nelen - Golden Heart Warrior. Huge guy, gentle touch. Gotta love him. Just be careful whoever's facing him in battle though, and let's hope he doesn't get too angry, shall we? =3

Best Fringer Character: Hsi Asmae - I know there are only like... two or three posts of this character, but, I know what Deceit can do with this character. Lemme tell you, anyone watching the little Jawa will NOT be disappointed. There'll be a few lols involved.

Best Jedi Character: Rhissai - I just like Rhissai a lot. =3 She's an interesting character and I have to admit that Dire can play a pretty good female. She's got her soft spots and her set opinions on many things.

Best Dark Jedi Character: Gabriella Fischer - Just a naughty gal to boot. She likes all them torture things. And torture can be fun. Don't give me those looks.




Best Storyline: Shogun, the Mandos missions - Even though I'm apart of the story, I can't help but admire the other roleplayers. I'm also become such a big Mandalorian nerd this past year, and just about anything involving Mando's will make me squeal. Shogun involves (or will involve) most of all the Mandos we have on the site. And a gathering of Mandos, ready to strike and/or striking already, just calls for a nerd spasm.

Best Battle: This was a long time ago but, it was Vreem Took against Xavier, mostly. Vreem also had my character and Daren's wandering around the side, trying to stay away but managed to nearly get smushed. xD But, it's the only one I recall, so, yeah.

Friendliest Member: Kellaishleya - Do we need a reason? The girl is everywhere and she's just downright awesome. =3

Funniest Member: Jackal (Plus whatever he's calling himself before the "Jackal". He's always changing it.) I STILL don't know what makes this guy's brain tick. xD

Most Creative Writer: Meira - When there seems to be a problem running down in a roleplay, Meira likes to try and add a little spice. She sent her character Trin climbing into the ceiling looking for a camera and those damn Advisors keep bothering Rook and Sali on Corellia, lol.

Most Realistic Writer: Dire Wolf - Wolf can add all those small details, especially with his military characters, that some people (including I) just can't. Makes me jealous sometimes, but, hey, I love the guy and his writing anyway. =D

Best Overall Writer: Jenno - This should be a given. Though he doesn't post often on the site, when he does, it is always crystal clear and I can easily see what's going on.

(( Like the others, I'll be filling in my choices and reasons as I decide on them. And of course, I inevitably will be somewhat biased towards folks I've actually RP'ed with. ))

Character Awards:

Best Civilian Bio: Rn'cherii. It's a bird/bat guy done in a first-person style. It's kinda weird but it works.

Best Military Bio:

Best Fringe Bio: Nadroj De'Cab. A fun bio that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Best Jedi Bio: Elav Ilarith. It's one of the few padawan-age character bios that avoids killing off the NPC master so that player would be able to take an IC master. And it does so in a logical and convincing way.

Best Dark Jedi Bio: Darth Iniquitious. Explains the characters history and motivations very well in a very readable way.

Best Overall Bio:


Strongest Non-Force User Character: Mandalore. Whatever else I think of the mandos, I have to admit that they're good fighters, and he's at the top amongst them.

Strongest Force User Character: Jace Berelan. He is the grandmaster...

Funniest Character: Rein Akai. He's such a woobie. I can't help but smile.

Most Unique Character: Hsi Asmae. It's a jawa...

Best Bad Guy-- male and female (list both): Gabriella Fisher and Mandalore. She's evil and sadistic and thoroughly enjoys being that way. He's a nice old man who cares for his people,... and just wants to conquer everyone else.

Best Group (3-5 characters): Nui's Jewel Crew. They don't fight. They're just fun.


Best Civilian Character: Rook Solosten. It ain't easy being a senator, and he's one of the most interesting ones.

Best Military Character:

Best Fringer Character: Grizzelda Xanxere. Technically a gray jedi but doesn't play like one. She's just a fun character is all.

Best Jedi Character: Xierra Zalq. She's competent, thoughtful, and green. Always doing the best she can and trying to improve herself.

Best Dark Jedi Character: Gabriella Fisher. She's a fun one to RP with. No doubting or angst from this one; she's just delightfully evil. She goes on recruiting drives. She kills kings. She gets stuff done.

Best Storyline:

Best Battle: Darth Iniquitous vs Aeron Creel. This one took place a while ago, but it's still the best one I've read. The fight flowed well with story, both writers gave an excellent effort, and both characters came out looking good.

Best Duel: Tuljima vs Ilia. Good stuff every step of the way.

Friendliest Member: Mara. She's friendly. She's helpful. She's like everywhere on this site. There's a lot of friendly people on the site, but Mara stands out most to me

Funniest Member:

Most Creative Writer: Kellaishleya. She's got a unique diverse set of characters that always seem to be having creative adventures. And a Gungan! Plus points for that.

Most Realistic Writer: Dire Wolf. Like said above, military can be hard to write convincingly, but he's good at it. Then again, considering how little I know about the military, he could just be tricking me.

Best Overall Writer: Meira. Her posts are always well-written, creative, and big on details.

Character Awards:

Best Civilian Bio: Samantha Zaftig, this bio was well thought out, well written, and just... well, good. Tal did a great job with this bio in my own personal opinion.

Best Military Bio: Kirhanos Brahvala, one of the best bios I've ever read. Especially the ones out of the military xD and I've read most of them.

Best Dark Jedi Bio: Rembrant Vorte. I just liked this bio. It was long as all hell, but it was good... and well thought out.


Strongest Non-Force User Character: Jorgun Mythrax. Gen'Dai, 'nuff said.

Strongest Force User Character: Ramseye Novok / Darth Eurachis. He is so unbelieveably over powered that I'm honestly surprised that he made it through before we got stricter xD either way, he's extremely powerful.

Coolest Character:

Wisest Character: Vreem Took. I really can't come up with any other explanation or reason, suffice to say "he is."

Best Bad Guy-- male and female (list both): Balax Brason and Gabriella Fischer. I know that so far he's (Balax) only been a bio... but dayum. Read the bio, you will know why I voted him in as the best baddie. And Gab? Well, she's the crazy Echani who loves to torture folk. Fun stuff =D

Hot mama: Meh, this one's a bit more base than the others. Having to go off of the appearance pictures... I'mma have to go with Valry Justic (Y)

Best Group (3-5 characters): Nui's Jewel (since I can't vote for the Mando'ade spec ops >>)

Best Civilian Character: Sali Hyria. I just like the character, she's one of those few non-snobbish monarchs. ^_^

Best Military Character: Rahja Kel. (Dunno how to spell chiss name) I just like the premise of the character, and she is well thought out. Tal mostly hasn't had the chance to RP it out yet, me thinks.

Best Fringer Character: Axle Finne. I just like the character, he has wings, is (apparently) a stud-muffin,

Best Jedi Character: Vreem Took. I just adore the character

Best Dark Jedi Character: Darth Iniquitous. Dark Overlord of the Sith, telekinetic lightsaber combat, and blind to boot. Awshum.

Best Duel: Its not done yet, but the "Echo [v] November" duel. The writing has been great, the writers are great, the characters are great, and its about two characters fighting over one of mine. =D Delta may not be amused, but I sure am.

Best Post IC: For the Love of Scum (link to post) Kellaishleya just posted it... but *claps* it was just a great post. ^_^

Best Overall Writer: This was a tough one for me. Its between Squee and Jenno. Jenno is an absoloutely amazing writer, as is Squee. The thing that did it for me was that Squee finds the time to post more... so this vote is cast towards Squee.

Squee. Well, when I read her characters, I actually believe them. I believe their possible. I believe their reactions and thoughts, based off of personality, past, and my own personal thoughts. She goes into detail about the characters, carving out a very real character as a professional wittler would make a statue of wood, chiseling out wood, flaking off dust, and gently carving into it every little crease inside and outside of this character.

Best Civilian Bio:Glem A'Quae
Firstly, the character concept in itself is unique. The writing is top-notch and it was just an enjoyable read.

Best Military Bio:Kirhanos Bhavala
I started going over a good deal of the military bios because of the whole Mando thing but this one wasn't even a mando bio but caught me eye. It was both lengthy and well written, loved it.

Best Fringe Bio:Garnet
An awesome race, and through inventive thinking got the character approved aside from it being an engaging bio.

Best Jedi Bio:Rhissai'arckan
This was a great read, a different type of Jedi. Badass yet caring. She has a darker past than most Jedi and it made for a great read.

Best Dark Jedi Bio:Acalya Syclya
Omg this was laike teh bio of greatness. It was the first DJ bio I checked since I become mod that I so thoroughly enjoyed reading. It really was a treat.

This is another great read which I tend to go back to every now and then to refer to posts. Then I remember how epic it is and then read the full thing over.

One word. Epic. I know I was in it but so were like 5 other people and it was intense. It really did bring out the best in everyone's writing ability

NPCs are allowed if they have a posted application/profile that has been approved. That said.. I don't think we have any active NPCs with profiles, so...

Technically he's not "my NPC," I just play him. He was but a blank mannequin, one of many mercenaries deceit put in his rp. I volunteered to play them, and Dorman Jerzyck was chiseled out of their masses by mine own mind. Though I was joking when I wrote that post and still am.

EDIT: Just wanted to throw up some votes.

I like Charlill Sylvorr (aka Shard, Karl's character) because quite frankly a Miraluka Dark Jedi with a mental resemblance to Barbossa and the Joker is awesome and can't go wrong. So, I'm voting him for two categories:

Strongest Force User AND Best Bad Guy (male.) He's easily very strong and cunning, I doubt anyone could really take him in a fight, and he's indisputably the perfect mix of evil genius and psychopath, making him the best villain on the site. Plain and simple.
