So here we are, folks: the one, the only, Stellar Mythic Discussion Thread of Space Wizardry and Other Stuff.
It is, as you can probably imagine, a place to discuss/introduce thread ideas, and other things of that nature.
So here's the way I think things will work out. As far as I know, the 'main' plot for the Mythics will center around the growing conflict with Potissimus Egregius Unum, the group that's risen up and is currently fighting against the Mythics. So, I'd imagine a number of threads will deal with that, and I've already sorta had a few ideas for some.
Of course, that's not at all to say that's the only thing our little wizards will be up to--far from it, in fact. There's plenty of things on Aiaru to do, and there's the entire Galaxy beyond that. I think it'd be safe to say we'll have plenty of stuff to work with as far as coming up with threads and plot lines goes xD
I've decided to split things up into two categories: one for threads that deal with the conflict against the Unum, and another for anything else. The conflict threads will go under the 'Main Story' heading, since that's the main singular issue facing them at the moment. And, everything else goes into the 'Other Stories' for the time being. Though, I think that, should some other sort of plot emerge, I might list it separately as well.
But, before we get to the plot jank, I'm going to list some general stuff.
First of all, there is, of course, the Stellar Mythics app sheet, which has plenty of information, as you can probably imagine. There's also Aiaru's app, which has a bevy of information--most of which is probably useless--since it's my go-to thing when I'm in the mood to be creative.
Next, here's a list--with links to profiles--of those currently involved:
[li]Abernathyia Maldar (Blood Mythic) {Silas}
[/li][li]Adalwulf (Sword of Diligence) {Dire}
[/li][li]Cruentus Nex (Blood Mythic) {Jace}
[/li][li]Irrisorie {Kellaishleya}
[/li][li]Kvothe Algaterra (Sword of Diligence) {Rugs}
[/li][li]Lyssah Archria {Dire}
[/li][li]Magdalena Vaaz (Blood Mythic) {Apillis}
[/li][li]Magnus Sententia (Infomancer) {Arheim}
[/li][li]Mathathyper Chesheervyk (Navy/Understudy) {Twysper}
[/li][li]Vesta Pyre {Meira}
[/li][/ul]
[li]Saktili-Kor (Battle Mythic/Unum Spy) {Casual}
[/li][/ul]
Now, for a few other PCs/NPCs of interest, either within the Mythics, the Unum, or those that are involved in some other fashion:
[li]The High Elder/High Inquisitor (Mythic) {NPC}: The Jedi have the Grandmaster. The Sith have the Dark Overlord. The High Elder is the name of the one that fills such a role for the Mythics. The current High Elder, or High Inquisitor, as he is also called, is a bit of a mystery. What is known is that he is a human, seemingly young, and, as one would expect, both wise and powerful.
[/li][li]Name: Seeker of Knowledge "Seek"
Gender: Female
Race: Qom Qae
Rank/Division: Inquisitor
Summary: Magnus' former mentor, Seek inducted the rishii into the Mythics due to his dedication to treating her injuries after a nasty storm on his planet. One of the oldest members in the order, she is incredibly knowledgeable but not particularly strong in the Mythos. She does, however, possess a natural affinity with telepathy inherent to her species which is her only means of communication. Like others of her race and sister race, she does not communicate in projected words but rather in abstract images and emotions. Seek remains one of the few individuals the Infomancer will go to for guidance and the two care very much for one another's safety. Like Magnus, she carries only an alchemist's knife, though her staff is quite different composed of a short length of simple, white wood.
[/li][li]Name: Sonatina "Sona" (Sone-ya) "Doc"
Gender: "Female"
Race: FIDES 18
Rank/Division: Library Assistant
Summary: Sonatina is a Familiar familiar and a shrink. Seeking to further expand their galactic awareness, Project Familiar sent the psycho-analyst to a well-informed rishii on Aiaru in hopes that she could tap into their impressive database while contributing to their further efforts as well. Since her arrival, Sona has done very little data thieving and very many grocery runs. With the size of the Mythic library she is constantly at work cataloging and reshelving volumes in methods seemingly devoid of logical basis. To make it worse, Magnus will often instruct her to reorganize sections on a whim as if yearning to make it truly impossible to find anything without a forty-man search party. She has far from failed her mission however, as she has succeeded in planting a GAI fragment into the databank...
[/li][li]Name: Fossor Dryke
Gender: Male
Race: Arhan
Rank/Division: Understudy
Summary: Clumsy, unfocused, and often losing his pets, Fossor is an Understudy who does very little of it. While fairly competent with Flare (simple but flashy!), he is otherwise an ill-talented Mythic. He's good with animals, though. His staff is a long, thin metal rod tipped with a small crystal, and his sword is little more than a simple dagger.
[/li][li]Name: Qarren
Gender: Male
Race: Borneck
Rank/Division: Battle Mythic (Pilot)
Summary: Quarren is an armed transport pilot often tasked with ferrying high-risk individuals around the planet. Even-tempered and soft-spoken, he none the less cares greatly for his fellow Mythics and often worries of their well-being while he's invariably left to tend the ship. He generally wears the simple brown leisure robes as to not draw too much attention to himself and specializes in direct energy stun Mythos. An ornate silver sabre is rarely drawn from his belt, much like the equally blemishless pike generally found resting in the cockpit of his transport.
[/li][li]Name: Durn
Gender: Male
Race: Besalisk
Rank/Division: Sword of Diligence
Summary: To hear this gruff, battle-scarred besalisk utter more than a grunt is akin to the chances of winning the galactic armory. One of the most experienced combatants amongst the Mythics, an ambush several years back nearly cost him his life. It did cost him an arm. Nonetheless, he remains a potent wielder of the Mythos--nearly unmatched with his energy counter-Mythos--and has since been redelagated to captain of the guard. He wields three curved scimitars having discarded his staff in shame after losing the arm that once held it.
[/li][li]Name: Bors
Gender: Male
Race: Epicanthix
Rank/Division High Sword/Sword of Diligence
Summary: Bors is an old Sword, a veteran of many trials and years of combat. His exploits are well known among the ranks of the Mythics, and his status among the Swords of Diligence is nearly legendary. Now he spends most of his days training up future generations of Swords, among other duties, but he's not come close to losing his edge. He wields a wickedly sharp longsword in battle, along with a great duranium shield that's been through almost as many encounters as he has. Bors is a powerful user of the body school of the Mythos, and is one of the best in the order in the use of defensive applications of the Mythos. He is also Kvothe's direct superior.
[/li][li]Name: Saine Niirdassa
Gender: Female
Race: Arkanian
Rank/Division: Leader
Summary Saine is a bit of an enigma, though hers is a name that many within the order know well, and for good reason. She was once a member of the order, though her past before that is a bit cloudy. However, she disappeared several decades ago. The reasons for this disappearance are still largely unknown, but when she came back onto the scene, it was as the head of the Unum, waging a guerrilla war against the order she once served, swearing to bring it to its knees.
[/li][li]Name: Vorian Algaterra
Gender: Male
Race: Rilan
Rank/Division: Captain/Forsaken
Summary Vorian's is a name that has risen in prominence in the past few years, both among the Mythics and the Unum. Many Mythics know of him from the sibling rivalry-turned-personal war between him and his younger brother. Beyond even that, he was known in his youth for his strength and skill, and was often hailed as a prodigy--the type that's seen maybe once a generation, to the unending ire of Kvothe. It's fitting then, that Vorian is quite powerful in many of the Mythos' aspects, and is a masterful serikinesis users, but none is he better in than telepathy. Since his defection to the Unum, he's shot up through their ranks and has made a great deal of trouble for the Stellar Mythics, from carrying out raids and assassinations to capturing Mythics and breaking them for the Unum's needs. Despite the fact that he's a threat to many of the members of the order as a whole, his brother has made it clear that Vorian is his to kill, and his alone. Vorian often carries his wicked hand-and-a-half sword, along with a long, curved dagger. He also has a staff, one that's smooth and made of metal, and though he's very skilled with it, he's rarely seen with it.
[/li][li]Name:Sveta Kyrlov
Gender: Female
Race: Shistavanen
Rank/Division: Forsaken
Summary: A Shistavanen strongly resembling a German Shepherd. She has a taste for fresh meat and issues with inhibition. She clawed her way to the top of the Unum ladder (often literally). She gets the job done -- when she feels like it. Someone once complained about her leadership style. He disappeared mysteriously, and was never seen again. A skilled practitioner of Terrakinesis and Serrikinesis.
[/li][li]Name: Desif Le'Nune
Gender: Male
Race: Bimm
Rank/Division: Lost Healer
Summary: Meek, cautious, and wanting nothing more than to be invisible, Desif is tasked with the unnerving duty of tending to the wounded, more specifically keeping those undergoing "conversion" alive. He is not Mythos-sensitive but can still put his botanical skills to good use treating everything from burns to Etherium withdrawals. His story is a similar one to Celena's, though he quickly gave in to the Unum's techniques, and considered her the closest thing he had had to a friend. He has a great distaste for Harri and Vorian who are responsible for a majority of his workload. Despite being Lost, he still carries a small staff--a thin rapier concealed within.
[/li][li]Name: Celena Faste <Deceased>
Gender: Female
Race: Cathar
Rank/Division: Initiate
Summary: Celena was born with a unique gift in the Mythos; the memorias spiritus ultim. This, along with a great potential in other areas as well, made her a target for both the Mythics and the Unum. The Unum found her first. Her family killed, she was abducted and, despite several escape attempts, tortured until her will was sufficiently broken. In her first mission to test her resolve, she was captured by the Stellar Mythics, tortured again, and then murdered by Kvothe. As she departed the world, she left behind the memorias spiritus ultim for Kvothe to intercept. She possessed neither a staff or a sword.
[/li][li]Name: Jeraud Bensino
Gender: Male
Race: Brosin
Rank/Division: Forsaken
Summary: Jeraud is, or rather was, Celena's "mentor" and a former Stellar Mythic serving as an informant before openly defecting shortly after Vorian. He is an elite combatant utilizing his skills in terrakinetic protection and counter-Mythos to give him a surprising level of survivability. Loyal to an almost insane degree to the efforts and ideals of the Unum, he rarely backs down from a fight and does not tolerate deserters. His staff is curved slightly and tipped with a wicked glaive--an often preferable weapon to the broadsword kept in the scabbard across his back.
[/li][li]Name: Harri Fundlespan
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Rank/Division: Engineer
Summary: Once an Etherium miner, the dust from the unrefined substance has withered his mind as much as age has withered his body. Abducted by the Unum shortly after its formation, what was once a spry talent for mechanics and excavation has been warped into lunacy. Sickly pale, wrinkled, soot covered, clothed in rags, goggled, and missing several teeth, he rarely, if ever, leaves the dungeons of he Unum's mountain hideout. Down in those stone walls he works obsessively on horrific contraptions cobbled together from various bits of rusted salvage. He takes immeasurable pleasure from watching them inflict terrible pain on prisoners with the misfortune of being strong-willed. Not being Mythos-sensitive, he does not carry a staff, however he does keep an over-sized, malfunctioning fusion welder with him at all times which doubles as both a weapon and a torture device.
[/li][li]Name: Yrohaoo (Yah-roh-hey-oo)
Gender: Male
Race: Herglic
Rank/Division:Alchemist
Summary: An enormous Herglic Alchemist of medium rank in the Unum. He originally left the Mythics because of personal issues with the doctrine. While a tremendously powerful Terrakinesis user, he's mostly devoted his time to solitary intellectual pursuits, leaving the rest of the Unum to do the dirty work of the faction. Eccentrically intelligent, ridiculously strong, and blessed with a short temper for anyone who disturbs his work, the Space Whale is a unique adversary. Both sides would be wise to fear his force bellow.
[/li][li]Name: Azeed Riizerna
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Rank/Division: Acolyte
Summary: Azeed is a boy of nineteen years with a fair complexion, blond hair and emerald green eyes. He's an odd sort, considering some of the people his time in the Unum has forced him to associate with. He's quiet most of the time, and has a noticeable lack of confidence. Many of his fellows consider him to be soft. Still, he has a great deal of latent talent, as many recruits the Unum takes do, but learning how to harvest it has proved difficult. He's moderately able in some of the Telekinesis schools, has a knack for harnessing Energy, but the only place his potential has truly started to shine--especially for his age--is healing. He has a staff, one made of simple wood, and his 'sword' is more of a long dagger than anything else. Vorian is responsible for his instruction and protection, though that occasionally gets relegated to Sveta.
[/li][li]Name: John/Joanne Redshirt
Gender: Varies
Race: Varies
Rank/Division: Varies
Summary: Usually young, brash, and wielding generic swords and flashy Mythos, these meddling baznitches exist purely as canon fodder for lightning, flickercats, high-velocity objects, each other, space bees, and Cruentus. Sometimes Cruentus with lightning.
