After a long time of work, the old Fringe Section Notes have been retired and replaced with new notes that have been revamped and updated from the ground up to better suit SWU as it currently is. So, for old and new members alike, they're worth checking out when making your next character. Some minor tweaking has been done to the Fringe applications as well.

Our dear Cain has stepped down from his position as Dark Jedi/Sith Mod. But no worries! Jace is stepping back into the role to keep things moving. Please, if you come across either of them, thank them for their dedication to the site. They're good people and we love them dearly.

What a month so far huh? All sorts of happenings, almost hard to keep track of!

Got a bit of an announcement/ update that our beloved and adored Meira asked me to share!

We're still working to refine and perfect it, but the new and improved Mission Board shall be revealed soon. We really want to try to promote missions once more, to have everyone tie into our beloved site's story and characters.

We encourage you all once you have signed up for and adopted a mission, to feel free to start its discussion thread and work out the details on your own. We are really excited to see what ideas and events you all come up with!

This will truly be something that both Staff and Members need to step up to the plate with, and we expect great things from both- as always.

As a matter of fact, check out the current mission board. Specifically the mission 'One Less Space Slug' in the Fringe Missions, which is the beginning of a number of missions that will be collectively known as the Shadow Conflict.

If you have any questions regarding Missions, feel free to PM either Jace or myself, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Alrighty folks, been awhile since I've made an announcement.

Hopefully you have read Dutch's earlier announcement pertaining to Missions and the Missions Board. We are really looking to get these back into gear so that your characters can take part in plot significant events.

Therefore one of the initial steps we have taken was to start fresh, at least for the most part. I have personally opened or freed up whichever missions had not got started. Many had gotten to he discussion threads but nothing more, those missions have been made available again. We encourage those interested to take a gander at the Missions board and see if any of the current ones pique your interest. We really want members to get involved in these missions and will do the utmost to make the process as easy as possible.

On the particular note of ease, we have made one major change to the way missions function. We have noted the reason why many missions never took off was the need for people to play the NPCs. Finding 4 people for a mission may not be too difficult but then another 2 to play NPCs and then hope all 6 remain active throughout is something completely different. Therefore we have made the need for people to play NPCs optional. It will be up to the mission participants if they want someone to NPC or just control the NPCs between themselves.

We hope this change will make missions a more feasible option for members. Once again if you have any questions feel free to contact Dutch or I. There will be more changes to come in the coming weeks.

Good afternoon/evening/night my dear SWUlings, just a quick house cleaning announcement.

It gives me the sads to say that we have removed Iota, Clarylla, and Cadyren from the NGTs. Sometime people move on and manage to get away from the site. I personally don't know how. I certainly don't think I ever could, even if I wanted to. But c'est la vie.

This, of course has us staff eyeballing everyone for possible interest in becoming one of our next batch of victi-.... volunteers. So, if you have an interest in helping out your fellow SWUvians, if you have an inordinate amount of time on your hands, like the color blue.... or possibly know someone else who does, please let any mod, admin, or NGT member know!

Dear SWUvians, I bring you word from our resident tech guru, A®heim :

Afternoon or whatever it might be at the moment, fellow SWUvians. This is just a quick announcement regarding a major change to the technology section that will be underway over the next few days.

These changes will involve condensing the four existing front-page boards into a single "Technology" board which will have a series of sub-boards divided first by faction and then by ship/droid/etc. The aim of this change is to rework the tech section format to be more similar to the character creation area, with separate boards for pending, approved, inactive, and stock models of various technology applications in hope of streamlining what has always been a somewhat cluttered section of the forum.

During this time period while everything is being moved around, these boards will be unavailable. If you have an application currently pending, do not worry, they will be moved to the pending section of their appropriate new board. When the move has been completed, there will be a second announcement declaring the grand opening on the new board at which time you may resume posting tech applications (with a series of slight limitations that will be implemented at that time).

If you have any questions about the specifics of these changes and feel they cannot wait until they are complete, too bad you may send a PM to myself, Vex, or sparrow who will all be participating in he actual moving of the applications. If you have any constructive criticism or suggestions, please wait until everything has been fully implemented and then PM me since in the end, it's probably my fault anyway.

Hello SWUbies!

How're you? I'm doing pretty well. Just got a MASSIVE inheritance from an Albanian prince, so that's pretty great. Oh? What's that? You've moved on in life, met someone new? That's cool(pffft)and all, but I'm definitely over you, and yes that is a Mercedes, pretty nice eh?

Anyway! So we're bringing some life back to the site after the holiday/school craziness, and we're doing this by refreshing our two story battles! Go check your PM's my loves!

Hello, Swupers!

After much delay, and many hours of sifting and clicking, the Technology section has been revamped and is up and running again.

You'll notice that now it's all under one section, and split into appropriate factions, with some new additions. Civilian now fills the role of the former Utilitarian section, if you were wondering. From there, we have the different subcategories of ships/weapons/armor and so on, along with pending/approved/inactive sections like the character boards.

Now a few things to note as we come back from the move:

• Mistakes happen. As you can see from the overall thread count for the tech section, there was a lot of stuff to sift through. And it's monotonous. So a few times during the move, things got moved to the wrong section. While we tried to correct that as we went along, some mistakes might have slipped through the cracks. If you notice anything that you think may have been misplaced, please, don't hesitate to let us know.
• Custom faction people: I tried to catch custom faction tech as I came across it and move it to the proper section. However, not all custom faction tech is easily identified as such. So if you have a piece of tech that's not in the Custom Faction area like it should be, send me a pm with a link. You can find threads easily using the revamped search on site or even google, if you know the thread name.
• Tech that's very old, before we had a more standardized approval method, has been moved to inactive. This mostly applies to tech made in ~2009 or before, so it won't affect many of you. Tech from that period that's known to be still in use was spared, of course. But, if you have an old piece of tech that's in inactive and was approved, please let us know. Some exceptions apply to old tech that's been out of use and doesn't fit in current standards of the site.

Hello my dear SWUvians, this will likely be a relatively lengthy and important announcement for you all to read.

First let me begin with addressing the main issue I’m here to talk about and that’s the staff. It’s been a busy time for a lot of folks with exams and other real life things taking a lot of time from folks. We’ve spoken to a number of people and there are some things that are going to be switched around. For starters, I’m returning as head admin (note the shiny red coat) to help with the coming decisions in regards to staff.

Following on from that however, there are a number of staff stepping down for their own reasons, such as busy lives, deployment or for the fact that they said they’d only be around to help again temporarily. So I’d like to thank sparrow for his great and lengthy service as both a mod and an admin. And also to both Dire Wolf and Jace for their help as returning moderators. Finally to A®heim who’s been around as our tech mod for quite some time now.

So, with these gaps in staff, it may be easy to guess that we’ll be on the look out for new folks to take their place. Which means that if you’re interested, we’d like to see some persistent, accurate and helpful reviews over the next few weeks. In the meantime, our remaining mods and admins are going to be free to review and approve in any of the sections as we try to fill these positions.

A note for the future. Once we’ve sorted out these essential staff positions, we’ll be looking at refilling the RPMs with some active mentors to help out those who want some advice. However, this is not a priority for us currently, but I wanted to let folks know that it is something on the agenda.

So with Dire Wolf’s departure and the inactivity of his characters, we are going to be replacing the role of Mandalore. A new candidate has been chosen and information regarding this replacement will be put out shortly, along with a news article on the what and why of it all. So keep your eyes open for that over the next few days.

Myself and, in particularly, Dutch have gone over most of the sections and updated the active character lists. This has freed up a number of positions on the Jedi High Council, which was previously full, so any of you who had a High Council member in mind, this is your opportunity to put up a character application.

After a bit of work, the new Jedi Section Notes have been condensed and updated to fit SWU as she is now. Veteran and fresh members alike are encouraged to give it a read. Hola SWUvians,

As you might have noticed, our dear Moonfire has been somewhat absent of late. This is due to a number of things, including work schedule changes and a borked laptop. So, she has asked to step down from her position as moderator so as not to hold things up for the site.

Moonfire has been a dedicated and exceptionally hard working member of staff for quite some time. Aside from providing excellent help to those making Civilian characters, she helped to revitalize both the "Of the Month" awards and the SWU awards. She was voted most helpful in the most recent incarnation of the SWU awards because well... she LOVES helping people. We will miss her greatly as a staff member. She always did look great in green. We are hoping that, with the responsibility of modship off her shoulder, Moonfire will be able to stay on with us as an honored vet and continue to brighten our world with her RP goodness.

Never fear, however! Though we are going through these shifts in staff members, we are doing our best to keep things up and running. And as it's been said before, this means we've got our eyes out for potential recruits! So get out there and show us what you've got!

We've got a new Mandalore stepping up, and someone new to play them. I'm quite excited to see how things will progress and I know we've both got some things in store for the group that we can't wait to have you guys get involved with.

Dutch updated his existing mandalorian profile a little bit to tie in to how Cyar'ika became Mandalore. And now that we have someone back in the reigns of this group, we can hope to see some more things for them to do and take part in. Once again, I'm looking forward to seeing you guys get involved in some of the things we've talked about doing.

Hello SWUlings.

I told you there'd be another announcement coming. This one is to deal with a number of promotions. After a number of staff stepped down we've been looking for replacements, and for prospective candidates. Well, we've found some (but if you're still interested in becoming part of the staff, there are still more positions to fill).

Joining our Next Gen Team, or the Blue Crew as I like to call them, we have Faeruy and Swamps who will be helping to get apps ready for the mods. We're looking forward to seeing these two working towards potential modship in the future.

And speaking of those rare green creatures, we've got two new Moderators for you all to marvel at. Welcome Squee and Fromikeable to the staffing team.

As many of you may know, this still doesn't bring us to our ideal number of staff. So as it stands we're using a floating mod system whereby any moderator can handle apps in any section. We'll rework this slightly when we fill up our roster a little more. But until then, please do bear with us and feel free to throw out some reviews of your own, it will help speed the application process along, and might just land you in the Blue Crew.

So congratulations to those who were promoted, and I hope you'll all give them a warm welcome.
