Not good thought the man as he turned to the side, his right foot sliding on the broken ground, keeping the stance centered is his left arm flew forward, sending enough of the force to push the two rocks further apart in their flight, allowing the man to hold his position while the rocks flew passed him, slamming into the wall behind him.
watching the room with the entirety of his field of vision the man noted one of the trio leaving and the scout returning to the side of the stronger one, his saber drawn. Things weren't looking exactly great for the man as he took it all in. Trapped in a temple with four sith or dark jedi and, from the sound of things, many clawed creatures in the depths of the ruins. Lovely.
His saber flew from his belt to his open left hand as it lowered slightly, activating the blade. His only real chance was to try to fend them off, possibly defeat the scout and escape before he could be done in by the other one. Taking in a deep breath the man shifted slightly, centering his balance further as he considered his options over again, making any decision in haste wasn't the best thing but sometimes it had to happen. Now he had only so much time and thought swiftly.
One of his options was to play dirty, strike and be uncaringly brutal, the other option was to play it fair, strike only when there was an opening and keep it safe for himself. Either way he had to respect the amount of power one foe had, and the endurance the other seemed to have. He had to respect that he might not survive this day.

Doviculous ran through the labyrinth of corridors and chambers, how far could this temple go? It was obvious it was more unique and far larger than the academy on Korriban, which made it far more difficult to locate the necklace. As he ran, the sound of rushing water became more obvious. Interested, Doviculous sprinted towards the end of the tunnel he currently traversed, and discovered it suddenly dropped down about 60 feet or so. At the bottom he could see a massive pool, and swimming within that pool was dozens if those beasts.
He scanned the large shaft, estimating it to be 30 feet wide, with about a half a dozen identical tunnels in the walls, he'd have to choose one. Reaching out with the force, he identified the signature of the female twi'lek. What is she doing down here? Abandoned the others no doubt.... He quickly decided, that he would follow the girl, and make finding the necklace ten times easier. With that plan in his mind, he leaped over to the nearest tunnel mouth, and raced down it, continuing to follow the girl's force signature.

Koeing smirked as he watched the Dark Jedi across from him ignite his saber, it was amusing that he would even attempt a fight, why not run. Then again most of those under the influence of the dark side didn't know what a tactical retreat was. Laughing softly in his deep voice Koeing reached in to the folds of his robes and procured his two lightsabers. Caeling and Allure, the two curved hilts glimmered in the small amounts of light that filtered through the cracks of the decrepit temple.
His sabers however were not normal for a Sith, neither being red he had crafted them back while being a Jedi, the last remnants of his Jedi life and he clung to them. Both meant much to him, both a reminder of his former Jedi Master Elminister Night. The smirk that had adorned Koeing's lips now vanished and what was left was a facade of an inner calm. However on the inside Koeing's rage began to build, slowly at first but it gained speed, his undying inner rage was threatening to burst from him like a super nova.
His dark red eyes, however calm they seemed burned with a rage that the Dark Jedi standing across from him would be able to see. Koeing's muscles tensed beneath his robes as a soft wind passed through the temple, it was the calm before the storm, oh would there be a storm, one to rock this temple to it's foundation. His lightsabers ignited at the press of their activators, the beautiful Silver and Viridian blades gleamed in the low light of the temple and a growl welled up in the deepest part of Koeing's chest.
Gripping his left handed saber with just his thumb four of his fingers jutted out and the force coalesced down his arm manifesting in lightning, it shot out at the temple wall near the Dark Jedi breaking it apart and giving Koeing plenty of material to work with. At that moment Koeing tossed his left handed saber in to the air towards the Dark Jedi. Using his now free hand he sent a wave of the force toward the debris shooting the shrapnel at the Dark Jedi, a distraction once more. Koeing would leap in to the air toward the Dark Jedi, his hand wrapping around the falling saber as he moved through the air toward his opponent.
His first attack would be two quick swipes of his sabers as he came down just in front of the Dark Jedi, they were meant to disorient not overpower, simply to knock him off guard so Koeing could move in close for a well aimed blow at the right hand side of the Dark Jedi's ribs meant to slice him in half and end this fight before it began.

Var turned the corner and skidded to a halt, face to face with a small pack of creatures. They were distinctly unhappy-looking, with cruel claws and mouths full of teeth. The Twi'lek had no idea what they were, or anything about them. Only that a half dozen of them were staring at her with a look that showed a distinct desire to eat her.
She had no intention of letting that happen.
With a hiss, her lightsaber flashed to life and caused the air around the red blade to crackle. She raised it into her beloved Djem So stance and waited for the creatures to attack.
They did, the first one almost hesitantly. As it opened it's jaws, the glowing red blade severed its neck and its newly headless body fell lifelessly to the ground.
Apparently the creatures were intelligent enough to tell one of their own had been killed by the interloper, because with a roar they leaped towards her. The first row were met with a blistering display of lightning streaking from Var's left hand. They staggered under the withering pain and shrank away from it.
As the next 'wave' arrived, Var spun around, twirling the blade in a peculiar slashing pattern geared to cause indiscriminate damage. She put all the force she could behind it, not bothering with finesse. The blade streaked through limbs, bones, and empty air alike. And after the first two revolutions, she started to dispatch the remaining few with precision. Inside a minute and a half she'd closed down her lightsaber and waded through the now-deceased pack.
Off to the side, she could feel Dov following tangentially, maybe he had the same idea she did. For the first time she reached out to his mind, not covertly.
Head for the main chamber, I'll meet you there.

Doviculous grinned, with her help finding the amulet would go so much easier, but it would still hold it's challenges. Doviculous said nothing back to Var, but continued on his path towards what he suspected was the grand chamber. Suddenly the tunnel abruptly turned right into a deadend. Doviculous pondered what he should do, find another way around? Or smash the wall into the nether? He chose option B.
With the way cleared, Dociculous stepped into a large circular chamber, which had three doorways in it's smooth surface, two of them were bolted shut by large stone doors. The open passageway looked like it was ripped open, by something big. Doviculous hoped that whatever did that was either dead or far away from him, he highly doubted both thoughts. Doviculous surveyed the doorway one more time, before rushing deeper into the temple.
The passageway led into a massive chamber, adorned with various statues and pedestals which would've had various items upon them. Doviculous scanned the room for any sign of an amulet, but found nothing, and continued on. The next room was wrecked completely, it seemed like the last room, but all the statues were destroyed or had massive claw marks on them, identical to the ones on the doorway. That idea troubled Doviculous, but he pressed on, he could sense Var's force sig closer to him, he was getting close to the main chamber.

Varulla'aba continued to jog down the corridor towards her destination, working to keep roughly even with the Devaronian. She was hardly the most physically powerful force-user, and preferred guile and strategy to pure power and ability. How you used what you had was just as important as actual ability. And her actual skills hadn't extended as far as some others, particularly her physical abilities. If she'd sprinted, then she could have arrived even with Dov. Or even ahead. But her brisk jog preserved her energy well, a gamble she was willing to take.
She made the last turn in the corridor and found herself facing a massive door. It was made of some kind of stone and adorned by metal features. The detailing was stunning, the remnants of skill and artistic workmanship from long, long ago. But what stood out most about the door was that it was locked. From the outside.
A large cross-piece blocked the door, extending into frame itself. It was massive, and clearly behind the Twi'lek's physical abilities to lift. But not above her force abilities.
She cleared her mind and reached out with the force. Everything else faded away to the edges of her mind as the heavy beam became the sole focus. She could see it rising in her mind, and her hands directed it. She lifted it mentally from its resting place and dropped it on the floor, clear of the door itself.
With a pleased expression she slid open the door, revealing the final antechamber before the innermost sanctum. It looked like a bomb had gone off in many, many ways. Toppled pillars, piles of rubble, and even bits and pieces of bones. And claw marks on everything. It was eery. The whole scene sent shivers down her spine and Var wished the Devaronian was there already.
She turned her gaze toward a door symmetrical to her own, through which Dov would likely be passing any instant.

Doviculous was so close, Var a still behind by a little, by the rate he was going he would be first into the chamber, he just had one more room to cross. As he entered the room he couldn't shake the feeling of danger that hung heavily in the room, and before he realized it, the floor suddenly caved it. Doviculous yelped in surprise, and landed ungracefully on a massive pike of bones about sixty feet below where the floor was before it collapsed. Doviculous brushed himself off, when suddenly he sensed movement all around him. He ignited his lightsaber, the red glow illuminating the bone littered chamber. Like ghosts, dozens of the nimble clawed creature materialized from the gloom, dagger-like teeth gnashing as they leaped towards the Devaronian Sith. The first wave fell easily to a wide sweep with the crimson blade, the next was the dispatched with the comeback of that swing.
As the third wave fell to a sudden burst of force lightning from the sith's taloned fingers, an ear splitting roar shook the ground, as it began to buckle upwards. Doviculous leaped backwards, his hand catching a large stone block extruding from the chamber walls. The floor exploded upward as a rancor sized behemoth, with massive spikes jetting from its back and arms, began to climb out of the newly constructed hole. Doviculous knew that he would have no chance against a beast like this alone, (Who is he? Starkiller?) and he quickly scrambled up the wall, finding purchase on ruined sections. When he finally made it to the top, he leaped over to the passageway leading to the main chamber, and dashed inside, to find a rather anxious Var awaiting him. Uhh yeah, we got a BIG problem down there He pointed behind him, where the savage roars of the behemoth could be heard.

Var could hear some sounds from the other room that she didn't like. I've got a bad feeling about this...
With a grating sound and a roar, Dov hurriedly passed through the door into the chamber. He gestured behind him and warned of a 'big problem.' Possibly the understatement of the year.
The Twi'lek shifted her weight and a nervous expression appeared on her face as her eyes noticed the claw marks and debris in the room. Whatever was down there definitely had access to what was up here. And whatever the creature was, it didn't sound happy. Not at all.
If the walking tank of a Devaronian was running scared, she didn't stand a chance. That meant team work and planning.
"Keepuna..." She muttered under her breath before speaking to Dov. "I get the feeling the thing down there is going to be up here very soon. On a scale of 1 to 10, how big a problem do we have?"
She mentally ran through the contents of the various compartments in her armor, hoping to remember something useful. The pair of thermal detonators in her belt pouch came to mind and she thanked her unconventionality. If she'd been wearing traditional robes things might have been a little different.

From a scale of one to ten? Twelve. He peered back into the passageway, the creature was still having trouble lifting it's massive bulk up the shaft. Do you know where the necklace could be? If you do, go on ahead of me, I think I cab deal with this beast, better me dead than both of us. Now go! He didn't know why he was helping this girl, but he could feel something about her, perhaps she was destined for greatness. It's not like Doviculous ever thought that about himself, how could he not? From a young age he was constantly told he would be the greatest weapon against the Jedi, yet he has now highly doubting that, clearly others better fit that role, all Doviculous was is a beast born to mutilate and destroy.
With a savage roar, Doviculous ignited his lightsaber, and charged down the passageway, and leaps into the fissure, slamming his blade into the beast's taloned hand. The behemoth roared angrily, and tried to swipe at Dov, he easily dodged and leaped deeper into the shaft, the beast soon falling after him. Doviculous could feel the massive beast closing in on him, it's bulk allowing it to fall faster that Dov, who angled himself to throw himself out from under the beast, who fell back down in the hole it made earlier, while Dov landed near the hole.
Doviculous grunted as he landed on his feet with a dull thud, as the beast continued to fall into the hole. Doviculous looked into the pit, and noticed the bottom was lined with water, about 4-5 feet deep, which gave Dov an idea. He summoned the force within him, and manifested it as bolts of blue lightning, which he fired from his outstretched fingertips into the water below. The beast roared in anger and in agony as the arc of lightning struck the water, spreading the energy throughout the pit.
Doviculous laughed as the beast shook and spasmed violently as the lightning passed through it, but it still lived, and therefore was a danger still. Doviculous ignited his saber, and was about to leap down and deal the deathblow when suddenly the remaining floor under him buckled and collapsed into the chamber below, sending Doviculous sprawling into a nearby tunnel. Doviculous quickly brushed off, when suddenly the beast charged the mouth of the tunnel forcing Doviculous to retreat deeper into the tunnel. Damnit girl, I hope you find that damned necklace...

Var stood at the top of the now-lengthy series of holes through the walls and floors, staring straight down at Dov and the creature, thermal detonator in hand and with an incredulous expression on her face.
Self-sacrifice? From the Devaronian? Her thumb rested on the trigger to the explosive, and she realized with the flick of her wrist she could blow away both of the biggest threats to her in the temple. But she couldn't. Some quiet innermost sanctum of her soul wouldn't allow it. Stupid or not, Dov had just risked his life for her benefit. So she could go and retrieve the artifact. Gratitude was a disease for the weak. But maybe she was weak.
She dropped the detonator down the holes to Dov, but it wasn't activated. It was a gift rather than a betrayal. "Take it! You're going to need it with that thing! I'll get the necklace now, we'll wait for you at the entrance as long as we can."
The Twi'lek saluted with her lightsaber and walked away from the hole.
Her attention was now completely focused on the doors to the main chamber directly ahead of her. Unlike the antechamber's massive doors of stone and metal, these were simply and sized for a standard humanoid. There was now way the creature could have made it through into those passages. And it was very unlikely anything had made it past the creature.
With a creak, the door slid open and the Sith stepped into the undisturbed chamber. It had a high vaulted ceiling, but it was a surprisingly small room. A few formal chests were sitting to the side, but Var had the distinct impression that the object would be found at the far end of the chamber. Possibly even inside the sarcophagus itself.
She didn't like the feeling of the room at all. It was silent, silent to the point of making her suspicious. It all seemed too easy now, to just walk across the room and open the sarcophagus...
Var's hand grasped the hilt of her lightsaber a little harder, ready to spring into action if needed. Each step she took was hesitant as she moved across the room. The Twi'lek Sith Initiate half-expected the floor to give away and plunge her to her death with any step. So it hardly came as a surprise when one stone on the floor feel away at the slightest pressure from her foot.
One by one she kicked at the stones with the heel of her boot, prying away the ones that were false and leaving behind the functional ones. A pit trap. Proof that the tomb itself was ambushed. And where there was one ambush, there would always be another...

Doviculous secretly praised the girl for the aid, which came in the form of a highly explosive orb of pure joy. Besides, he didn't know how he was gonna get outta this one on his own, it pays to have 'mutual allies'. Using the force, he brought the thermal detonator into his right hand, and turned towards the behemoth, who was trying to fit itself into the small gap. Chew on this! Using the force, he managed to pull the upper and lower jaw of the beast open violently, breaking the hinges on the side of the mouth. Then he clicked the activation switch of the grenade, and chucked it into the beast's awaiting maw, the hauled it down the tunnel. The beast gurgled once, then exploded as a massive fireball enveloped it, and spread down the tunnel. Doviculous barely avoided being burnt alive, he leaped behind a large chunk of debris farther down the tunnel, and only ended up with a slightly cooked cloak.
Doviculous sighed, he just realized he'd been holding in his breath ever since he chucked the grenade. He jogged back up the tunnel, and discovered that the explosion cut off his route back up, a large section of rock had collapsed in the explosion, and covered the pit opening. That and the charred smoldering remains of the beast littered the mouth of the cave, the only intact piece of the beast was it's skull, he would take it with him, but he had to face a new problem. He now had to find a way back up, and the only way back seemed to be a large rancor sized gateway on the opposite wall. Doviculous shrugged, and sprinted down the large passageway.

Var jumped agilely over the now exposed pit, and came to a stop immediately on the other side, being careful not to advance further than was safe. There could be other traps just waiting.
Her green eyes scanned the room carefully, looking for any details that seemed out of place. Anything that was slightly different could be a booby trap. Ancient Sith had been just as protective of their tombs as a dozen other cultures, and grave-robbing was always frowned upon. That made it a contest between between the would-be robber and the ancient designer.
But the one advantage the robber had was the disadvantage the architect had to face as well. The builders had to identify the traps to avoid them. And that meant tell-tale signs could always be seen, signs like small symbols on the walls or- a slightly raised floor tile. Like the one maybe ten feet ahead of her.
Gently she reached out with the force and applied pressure on it. The tile abruptly exploded, rattling the room slightly and causing bits of stone and dust to fill the air. The Twi'lek coughed and covered her nose and mouth until it subsided. Then she set forward again, reaching the pedestal at the far end of the room. And on it was a magnificent stone bust.
The craftsmanship of it was astonishing, truly the best a bygone era had to offer. It was clearly the occupant of the tomb, the regal features and arrogance of the expression memorialized in stone showed that much.
And around its neck, where the necklace would most likely be hanging was nothing. Nothing at all.
The Twi'lek reached out with a gloved hand and felt the statue carefully. No tricks, there was simply nothing on it. She even ignited her lightsaber and sliced the work of art in half. Nothing inside either. And no hidden compartments in the base. But hope wasn't over, not yet.
She moved over carefully to the sarcophagus chamber, slicing away the locks with her lightsaber, ripping away the outer protective case, and revealing the sarcophagus itself. With another flick from the glowing red blade, the lid came undone and slid off. It was certainly safe to say the tomb's occupant hadn't aged well. Little more than a skeleton remained, and to Var's chagrin there was no necklace here either.
She tore frantically through the sarcophagus and the tomb, certain it would be somewhere. But it wasn't. They'd been on a wild goose chase, and Varulla'aba was forced to admit defeat as she turned back empty-handed.

Doviculous found himself at the bottom of another deep shaft, but this one seemed manmade. All along the shaft walls were rickety scaffolds, and on one side there seemed to be a massive chunk in the wall. Doviculous has to inspect further, so he jumped over to the nearest scaffold, which nearly collapsed under his weight. Apparently the equipment here was old and could collapse.
Doviculous leaped from scaffold to scaffold, with only one collapsing after he jumped off of it. Finally he had made it to the large hole in the wall, and made the conclusion that this is where his rancor sized friend came from. The worked must of disturbed it's slumber, and awoke it, allowing it to rampage throughout the lower levels of the temple.
Looking upward he spied the entrance to the upper levels of the temple. He leaped from scaffold to scaffold, until he finally made it to the passageway, and sprinted into the temple, ending up in a circular room, he could sense Sion and Koe a few levels above him... and someone else's force signature.

As soon as the wall blasted just behind him the man threw back his arms and leaned forward, slightly bent knees straightening when he was pointed at the attacker. The simple motion sent him forward, a tiny boost from the force helping him close the distance with the man who was about to strike.
It wasn't that he knew there would be distractions, it was that he had moved forward out of sheer reflex before the distractions could take place, and now he was within reach of this powerful foe. The only consolation was that he had gone straight while the other had jumped. The next fask proved, while simple, still more difficult as the thrown saber, while likely a distraction as well, had been thrown withthe speed to kill. using his own ignited saber to swat the one flying saved the man's live, and nearly ended it as his angle was bad when it hit, the spinning sable actually looping aroundthe blade of his own before spinning off to the side.
He turned slightly to the side and moved further from the scout, putting what distance between himself and his two adversaries. The temple shakes. The fools whom had gone ahead must have found more of the beasts.

Sion looked on as Koeing began his attack on the assailant, surprised at his display of power. This man was outnumbered, and from the looks of it, Koeing didn't need him. Still he would try to do his part to crush this person, grind him into more dust for the temple to collect.
Sion moved to the side keeping his eyes on his target all the while, until he was about 8 feet away. He looked around for a moment, further analyzing the situation, calculating his opponents' next move.Sion knew that his foe didn't have many options, and he knew what they were.Either way he was prepared, but he decided to strike first. Catch his opponent off guard.
Sion swiftly moved toward the enemy in a serpentine pattern, and jumped into air over the man, landing behind him. Sion moved in close and slashed upwards to catch his right arm, and hopefully slice through to decapitate the man, ending this fight quickly.
