From this moment hence forward, all members who have a question for the Staff of SWU will ask here. Whether you are looking fro Jenno or PSF or Lord Lurker this is where you ask the question.
It is no longer appropriate to send Personal Messages to the staff members with Roll Playing questions. Each of the staff has a set amount of work to complete each day and the current flow of PMs is preventing some of our Staff members from being as productive as they want / need to be.
In the honor of keeping this site flowing smoothly the team will appreciate all members who respect this request and rule.
Ask away.

What does the Force Levitation power do on this forum?
Also, is it possible to have a backhanded version of ataru/djem-so/etc?

Where is Admiral Bajr headed next? So that Caedus Corellisi may join up with him.

Raven, Shien is the style that utilizes Backhanded.
Another unique lightsaber style was that of Adi Gallia who held her saber with a one-handed reverse grip resulting in wide, long swings. This was a personal variation of Shien, much as Vaapad was Mace Windu's personal variation of Juyo. Anakin Skywalker's first Padawan Ahsoka Tano and later his secret apprentice Galen Marek also seemed to prefer this style.

Well its been over 2,000 years since Ludo Kressh... I suppose it is fine if you have a good reason for your parents naming you after a Sith Lord.

I have seen a lot of character creation problems do to age considerations. Someone will want to be a high military rank or jedi master level or want some grandmaster level power or ability at the age of 15. Naturally the common response is that they are a bit young for whatever it is. They should either lower the level or increase their age.
What exactly are the Moderators opinions on the minimum ages for each military rank and force user level (Both Jedi and Dark Jedi)?
I have also seen comments like "You are a bit young for that high of (Attribute)" What would be appropriate age levels for higher levels of Strength, Speed, Intelligence, and Leadership?
Also for force users I have seen comments like "You learned level seven in only two years? It would take a lot longer to learn that!" How long would it take to learn each force power level? Probably one year to gain level one. Maybe two years to go to level one to level two. But after that ... ?

Ryn, I'll give your bio a look when I can. I've got to go here soon, and I want to devote a good amount of time to reading it, as it is quite long I might not get to it until tomorrow morning though, so I apologize. To answer Djinnet's question, quite a bit of what we decide is individual to the character that we are reviewing, but let me see if I can clarify some things. A child will not be accepted into the Jedi Order after the age of 6. A Youngling become a padawan between 11 and 13 ish. But must be taken as a Padawan by 13, or they are sent into other areas, such as agri-corps or they can go their own way. Minimum age to become a knight is 22 on this site. After that, it has more to do with experience than actual age. The Dark Jedi are a different matter because they have no real organization, and therefore, no structure for us to go off of. This character's rank and powers have to be modded individually with no real sets of acceptable or not acceptable levels, and so will vary greatly. As far as powers and attribute stats go, it is an extremely individual thing that can't be clearly defined. Believe me, I've tried. Depending on how certain powers and abilities are backed up, we have to determine if that character, being the way they are, would be capable of attaining such stats in the amount of time given. This is why it is critical to write as much detail into a character as possible. It makes it easier for us to determine if ranks and stats are realistic for THAT character.

Quick and simple question:
For a Jedi, is it possible for them to use a Republic starfighter (aka the Aurek Tactical Starfighter) as their own fighter and transport to get here and there?
Just out of curiosity.

i wouldn't see a problem with it... with in reason as to why they have one. They wouldn't give them out left right and centre, so just make a convincing story as to why he/she has one. of course i may be wrong.

"Padawans are chosen by the time the youngling is 13, or else the youngling is placed in a lesser role in the Jedi service corp. Keep this in mind when selecting your age / history."
This was in the Jedi Application, and I had some questions about it. First, what are the lesser Jedi roles you can be placed in? Second, if you are to be put into a lesser Jedi role, do you have to start off a Youngling, or can you just go straight to that role? And last, do you have to start off your Jedi character at age 13 as a Youngling?
Thank you for your time. -Nehlan Jorin

First, what are the lesser Jedi roles you can be placed in? -You can find these roles at this link: starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_Service_CorpsSecond, if you are to be put into a lesser Jedi role, do you have to start off a Youngling, or can you just go straight to that role? -First, youngling refers to a child. Youngling is not a rank in the Jedi Order. Though yes, you may start in almost any aspect of Star Wars life given you have the Bio to back it up. If your bio shows how you got into the MediCorps you are officially in the MediCorps. And last, do you have to start off your Jedi character at age 13 as a Youngling? -Again Youngling is not a rank but a common species generic name for child. You may create a character from age 1-1,000 given that you detail your bio respectively. Hope this helps, feel free to ask if something is not clear, JK

hey, I was just wondering how time progresses in this game.
Is this game always stuck in the year 3602 BBY? or do you move it forward a few months depending on the plot lines?
Thanks, just curious.

After every major event there is somewhat of a time jump accounting for time passed. You will notice this in the Plot threads when it actually happens. Now we just need something big to happen.

I'm trying to work it out myself, but it'll be easier to ask here.
What time period exactly is this in? I know the year, but I'm not good with my star wars history in terms of years and such.
Clearly this is after or during KoToR because of the Kolto shortage, but the fact that no-one knows about Sith Lords says it's probably long before or long after. It can't be too long after, or the Kolto shortage wouldn't have lasted this long, but it can't be too soon or the sith from KoToR II would still be known.
My head hurts.
